I don’t recall getting the 100k wishlist items, either. I already have a few of those items from earlier log in rewards in 2023 (plus the Underground for the machine), but that’s it.

You should be able to log into one palia account per steam profile, so you'd need multiple steam profiles to log into multiple palia accounts (like on switch with Nintendo profiles)

For moderation purposes. The server is English only and family friendly with a wide range of ages so it could be easily out of hand with this size of server.

Why not just make a role that needs the person to confirm their age afterwards anyone who has that role can join the vcs so it keeps adults away from saying things in front of kids but let's adults talk to adults. It keeps it family friendly but let's people talk with each other if they go on hunting parties fishing etc.

Also add a kick feature to vcs so if someone is making a fuss in the vc you can easily just kick them out there

Sadly there's been enough drama in this discord previously, even with roles and whatnot with a server this size it could still get messy. Not to mention people can easily "fake" or bypass that. If people want to vc or group up, they can search on the lfg or community channels.

Does anyone else think that their Giant Ancient Rainbow Fish Plush turned into a regular Giant Ancient Fish Plush in their inventory?

I got the free login reward one, and never got any more. And yet my inventory shows the a thumbnail of three of them...

Or so it appears. They are actually the regular ones (which I've had multiples of for a while), and the actual rainbow one is nowhere to be found.

Then if I place them, they are clearly the original ones.

I don't usually use plushies. I mostly keep them all in my storage. I've checked all my plots, and can't find it.

Seems like all that happened was the OG giant ancient fish plush thumbnail changed to the new prismfish thumbnail.

In practicality, nothing actually changed. Just the thumbnail breaking, naming convention inconsistancy, and an inability to easily find things in your inventory causing some confusion.

Depends on the accomplishment. Palia Tracker is useful for tracking what you have and haven't caught before for something like catching all fish/bugs/etc. You can check stuff off as you get it and as long as you don't clear your browser cache it will keep track.

From my experience (I'm on PC), it seems you need to aim at a specific angle sometimes, but I have an irregular plot with furniture around it so it might be a different issue entirely. I know the gardening buffs are not displaying correctly atm, but maybe ask around #🎲│console-zone?

But I have heard the A interaction button bing broken on Switch previously, but it's been supposedly patched.

Anyone else seen this video yet? It talks about several games but it starts with some unfortunately excellent points about Palia. Particularly, having such expensive cosmetics (in beta), laying off so much of the original staff and then struggling immensely to fix bugs in the game, and spending money to sponsor influencers online when they could be using the money to... pay staff that they fired.

I've been following palia for years before open beta released, and I've been playing the game ever since. But I have to agree about the cosmetic prices. I would've probably bought much more cosmetics by now (and spent more money overall) if there wasn't SUCH a steep price. And I had brushed off the layoffs as an issue with the gaming industry at large, but I don't think I should have, especially with the point about palia going out of its way to sponsor YouTube videos.

I was wondering if anyone else had thoughts on this. Am I missing something or have I just been brushing off red flags this whole time bc I enjoy the game?

I call it "toxic positivity". People latch onto the game and want to love it, no matter what. criticism always meets the same points, that get regurgitated over and over "Free game, small team..." and so on.

Problems in the game are obvious, but get swept under the table, because people claim to love the game so much. In the palia subreddit, someone replied the following to me, after I said that the game breaks more and more with each update:

"I get that it's frustrating especially for switch players, but when half of this community's posts are complaints i wonder why the heck are people even playing anymore. I've played this game on my laptop despite it crashing 20 times an hour and still enjoyed it. Can we please appreciate more and complain less? It's obviously not helping"

Yeah. That's a whole better made game for something like a pajama in palia. In the end, you receive practically nothing for your money. If palia goes away, so does your money. That's why I am very hesitant with buying stuff in online games

Wth is going in elderwood. Hunting on console is a pain anyway and the you need to get a Star Scale for a quest? Hell nah. If they at least made it a matter of time if you could run after the Oboguruu als long as you like but that they disappear and you have to land all shots is beyond frustrating. I try to forget about that quest for now, but trying to farm that for some hours nearly made me quit there. Not cozy.

Deep woods is such a terrible area and the placement of the stables there is baffling. Elderwoods basically killed my last bit of enjoyment in palia

Especially with the essence being another currency. I have gold capped and no real way to spend it. Renown is practically forgotten and now they introduced a third currency...why?

I personally don't mind the Elderwoods as much as some people do, though that's perhaps because I hadn't played in a long time or have played more uncozy games, but I do dislike how they've tied drop rare items to quests in order to increase the grind.

The essence is also another issue of it's own, it's a redundant system and it's so tedious to get.

For it being "end game" content, there's not a lot to do once you finish all the quests (which are also bugged) unless you like fighting the RNG for plushies.

They used to have a ruby as a requirement for finishing Tish's quest "another way". For me, it was impossible to get and last year, they changed it to an aquamarine. Palia has terrible RNG so tieing things like this to quests turns it into a grind fest

This is an especially good point. People end up HAVING to group up to hunt and it is still largely unbearable when it comes to the obogoro. I enjoyed hunting before, but when other skills just aren't as important to do together/important to the gameplay itself, then it's just really unbalanced and makes hunting not fun bc its too hard and other skills no fun bc there's so little reward for it.

To get tree seeds, you have to cut down fully grown trees

The only thing that is "affected" (and I put this very lightly) is the welcoming gift you get at your ceremony but that's affected by your personality type (air, fire, water, earth) and not by your choice of Shepp.

If you're searching for food for focus, I'd say just jam crops, they still give a decent amount of focus.

Have seen a few "my hoe isn't working in Elderwood" comments lately. Wanted to leave a note that if your hoe isn't working in Elderwood, try completing your Prismbeard quest line first. It seems that if you don't finish this quest once you've started the part that requires digging, you've soft-locked yourself out of using that tool until you do.

I finally clued in to what was happening after seeing new players last month have a similar issue with fishing. They had to fish in a specific location, but left the quest before they finished it. Couldn't fish in-game otherwise. Finished the fishing action in quest, and could fish again.

I put two and two together and confirmed again this morning another "my hoe isn't working" player had the active Prismbeard quest where digging is required. It softlocks you like the fishing quest did. They finished the Prismbeard quest and could dig again in EW.

The feature tickets will usually get you about 200 to 300 votes and thats usually where most people will stall. Feature in a timely fashion (i.e., when a lot of people would be voting). You will still need to do some of your own legwork if you're trying for that 500 nameplate though. But yes featuring can help.

As Palcat showed, what does the red text on your screen say when you pick up a chest? You can only have 8 chests on TOTALITY across ALL your plots. So if you still have 8/8 (or more) on your screen when you try to place a chest, that means you have that number of chests actively placed on your plots and will need to pick ALL of them up in order to place your new chests down. Until they revert the changes they made, you can only have 8 chests TOTAL across ALL plots at this time.

I'm wondering if this is a bug or intended game play and curious if others have noticed it too: A couple of weeks ago I modified my PalTech Ceiling Fan to 'Shore' (blue) and noticed that since doing that it no longer spins the blades, I can still turn the light on and off though. I figured I 'broke it' by modifying it and thought nothing more. I have modified a bunch of things but none that had interactivity on them.....until today. I have been slowly turning all my bathroom items to Alabaster (white). I modified the Umbraan Sink and Umbraan Tub today and now I can't turn the water on. So it's made me think that it might be intended? Has anyone else had this issue with interactivity disabling after modification?

Edit after some testing:

• removing the modification from the fan and the blades spin again when turning it on. Reapplied the modification again and no blade spinning.
• removing the modification from the bathtub gave me a bit of a tricky situation. I could turn it on again but I had to stand in the tub and look directly down. I made a fresh new tub and tested and I didn't have to be as direct with my looking at it to turn it on. Reapplied the modification to both the new and the older tub and again - no water.
• removing the modification from the sink I was able to turn it on, but surprisingly when I reapplied the modification it works this time O.o

Hey all—wanted to share something important. Many of us have felt the shift in Palia, and here’s why:
Singularity 6 was acquired by Daybreak Game Company in July 2024—and since then, there have been two major layoffs, including core creative/dev staff. The game’s direction, once full of soul and community, now feels lost in grind, glitches, and corporate silence.
I nearly lost a 40-year friendship over broken storage mechanics that still haven’t been fixed. The bugs are piling up. Communication is minimal. Elderwood feels punishing instead of inspiring. And worse—it’s unclear who’s even steering the ship anymore.
We deserve answers. What’s being done to fix the core codebase? Will devs ever acknowledge the layoffs and acquisition? Can the original vision still survive?
Palia meant something. Let’s make sure it still can.

we have a plush collection game now, mmo (from what it seems like) was abandoned a long long time ago, we still didn’t get any feature for communities ingame, announced august 2023, mentioned again that they would give players news soon mentioned in may 2024, yet nothing
they found their niche and cater to said niche
(roadmap promises are promising to slightly escape the plush collection niche but it won't change much)

For the weeklies, many people just go to a plot, hit 1 then 5 to hop through as quickly as possible. It's why when I'm going for nameplates, I push for it on a week it is #1 slot

I was playing Palia as it just came out, but the monetisation models and performance issues etc put me off and drove me away. Was wondering if it was worth giving another shot now?

basically no, but if you like building houses and cozy grinding you'll like it! personally i like it, but its def not for everyone. i still crash a lot (not on my end, super pc), but i like the decorating system.

i think the lore is super interesting as well, especially in the elderwood expansion

in all honesty i feel the same. i was on a several month break because i completed everything and got bored, came back for the chatty plush. im having a lot of fun with this update but i might run out of content when i finish my plot again haha

There have definitely been a lot of changes. I don't have any performance issues with my PC (which is by no means "super" since I've not updated it in several years), but I'm currently taking a hiatus to focus on other games and to let them fix the stuff they did with chests. I do enjoy that they've given us a lot more of the outdoors items we've needed, such as a bigger variety of plants and placeable rocks. Myself, I'm holding my breath for the ranching aspect, as the gardening/ranching is severely lacking for a game in the cozy genre.

But do we know if the new flowers not giving seeds after a full growth cycle was purposeful?
Thus forcing us into that minigame again if we want more...
The minigame that it was mentioned how it was designed to be done as a group...
However if you do it in a group there are zero benefits for doing so other than the shiggles...
As unless I'm missing something,. From my preliminary testing that I did, everyone in all of the parties that I was a part of had different loot outcomes.

Which as a note if the seeds not propagating was a purposeful decision, it's really a step in the wrong direction. People already talk about how much of a grind Palia is, & how it's not casual friendly - this change would just solidify that point.

I think the piksii bounce being a group activity is more about shooting the protective barriers around the seed things and watering the bouncy mushrooms to help everyone get more of the seeds

Being in a party doesn't help you, but they're trying to make it a group activity with the shooting and the watering, because those things help everyone

If the plants you get from the piksii bounce dropped seeds after they were fully grown, you'd have no reason to do the piksii bounce event again... I'm not sure I really love it, I wish it was more like the grove where you got consumable items from it, but I think that's the full intent of it

Personally I am not a fan of being forced into gameplay loops
Palia used to be a choose your own adventure story... used to be.
But with every update S6 is getting more & more heavy handed with how they want me to play their game.
They seem to have this grand vision of their "Palian Experience."
That begs the question... why do they even have a feedback form anymore?

As a side note - I'm also AWEFUL at jumping puzzles/games which is part & parcel where my frustration comes from getting forced to play something repeatedly THAT I SUCK AT. Tilts me to no end.

I think a few changes could make it more bearable like:

• Area effect so the watering can doesn't run out during the event
• Parties get shared drops at the end; what you collect during the event and what your party members collect get combined

This event is also rough for console users so extending the time would help lessen the grind for that side of the community.

It's still a really odd choice the loot is not shared though, I get they want to "incentivise" grind or some might make the argument it gives an unfair advantage, but for some people the platforming nature of it, is annoying. Specially considering how buggy climbing already is in this game.

I would also be okay if Ashura sold the seeds once you complete the event once to help lessen the grind for the side of the community that just wants to decorate without having to run to EW every night to gather

The game is intended to be a grind and I will say that I love the grind - before this update, I grinded through a lot and got to a point where I didn't have much to do... and that was sad. Cozy games tend to be grindy, that's the beauty of them 💜

I know we have an Influx of new players and a lot has changed. So why did manners and etiquette also get thrown out the window? One of my biggest pet peeves is when i throw down a honey lure and people run in and scare off the bugs .

I don't think new players know the etiquette or the 'rules' per se. My server's community events got absolutely throttled by randoms today and it was not fun lol.
