the soft spot to place the book is very small so you really gotta spam it
the giant pond is made out of cancel placed mossy rugs I believe(I zoomed in)! Not a real pond, more for looks, but honestly they need to add a water feature mechanic like yesterday LOL
multiple times yes. I honestly am at the point of giving up
this direction is what confuses me most. I have never tried cancel placmeent before so maybe I am biting off more than I can chew with the books?
You can't actually place them together with cancel placement. What you need to do is move one out of the way with cancel placement, and then place the second.
"So put your first item where you want it, just placed normally. Now pick that item up and move it out of the way but don't place it. THIS is where you hit the number key for your other placeable item. The item you were moving will look like it placed down and you will be holding the thing you pulled out of your hotbar. Just put that thing away.
Now move the second item into the place where you want it merged with the first item and place it down normally.
Then reload your plot by switching plots or by leaving to Kilima and coming back. "
I made it
incredible
Thank you π its the elderwood rugs
chef's kiss
Pickle's explanation is different from your case
This one was to merge 2 items together, the one you're looking for is to do the rotation glitch
Most glitches are cancel placement, but used in different ways to achieve certain results (floating, sinking and rotating)
I'd still advice you to train and get the hang of cancel placement first before attempting to lay your book flat
anyone have an issue where a decor anchor works sometimes, and other times you load your plot it doesn't work and the items are on your front lawn?
it seems that when I load to my home plot from an explorable area, the items are on my front lawn. when I load into my home plot from another plot of mine, the items are anchored correctly.
what items are getting sent to the lamp zone?
ahhh. I see...do you have a cancel placement video for starters to recommend @tepid solstice ?
twisted tree
Are you a PC or Console player ?
PC π
Then check Lila's https://youtu.be/SLgXUZlwLoU?si=vNhtn8PLYCNfsCxI
It has all 3 basic glitches you need to know first
thank you so much, I will work on this
what are you anchoring it to and where?
in bounds, to a red present, tree is upside down
Might be the height the problem ? I mean... That tree's enormous
struggling with cancel placement. dont understand it at all π
(But it is also bugged atm so... Could be that as well
)
i was thinking the red present would get around the height limit...blah
oh shoot you're right...I probably am stuck waiting until they fix the tree π
Some items needs to be anchored in chains when floated too high or sunken too low
I'll give the chain anchor a try, ty!
Yes, you just do everything else the same way, but always pick up your tables from the first (anchor) table.
it was definitely a height restriction, chain floating has resolved it! tysm π«Ά
If this happens then it has become unanchored for some reason. It is often because of distance, especially if you are using "anchorless" floating (aka, one cup method or using your house wall/floor as the anchor).
And yes, it will happen when you change servers and not when you change plots.
I'll ask the same question of you that I asked someone else just now... what steps are you following?
There's much more to it than this when you are trying to rotate books.
Were you able to use your soil tiles as normal after flicking them into the conservatory?
No, you can't till them after you flick them unfortunately.
Darn, thanks guys. Was excited when I searched and saw your experiment lol. Does the floating method still work for them to be functional (got the recc'd YT vid pulled up to try it out)
You can float them off a red present, just make sure your present is anchored to the ground--don't put it inside your house.
these are so cute!
I'm not going to be much help on Switch, because I don't know how to do it on console (I just know there's some jumping and the glider is involved). But is it the method/steps you follow that is the problem, or does the whole reason you do it not make sense?
anyone got a full flower conservatory? tried searching the channel but nothing
well i looked at more videos and a bunch of them say u have to load in another plot and mark where ur previous object was on the old plot to the new one where u want it to merge but in order to do tht i need to unlock a new plot thts 50k which i dont have so im farming and fishing to sell stuff
Don't mix up ghosting (old method that has been patched) with cancel placement. There are many tutorials out there that use the wrong term and call cancel placement ghosting. Then you search for "ghosting" tutorials and it's totally the wrong thing.
You don't have to mark anything on a second plot. You do this all on the same plot. Anything that is telling you to do something on two different plots is not cancel placement.
The only exception is that reloading your plot resets your cancel placed item. ONE of the ways you can do this is to switch to another plot and come back. But you can also do this by leaving to go to Kilima and coming back.
Also you do get a second plot free. I think you have to have unlocked all the sections of your first plot, but then you'll have a second one that you do not have to pay for.
this is all good info. thank u πββοΈπββοΈ
Now if you want a gazebo... You need LOTS of plots... XD
Don't remind me of that. It was a pain.
Sooo am I just stuck with the wall paper on the inside of the estate house door wall??ππ
how do you mean? like fully decorated?
It's building a HH the first time what gives you the 2nd plot (or at least it was, my wife's character hasn't passed the tutorials except fixing the house and has the 2)
yeah just the conservatory with just all flowers. something like this https://youtu.be/zv5LPWjZu2k?si=x05Q8VPA3s6waltE
Yeah, that's what it was for us, but doesn't everyone just get a house now? I feel like I read somewhere that it changed for new players.
actually thats perfect think i might try and recreate that
well I posted some pics of mine what..a couple weeks ago.. and it's a proper comfy flowery space
Yeah, you get a house now but you still have to "fix it" with some materials
For now, yes. That wall got a new bug with this update. Hopefully they fix it soon.
if you want you can come visit in game to see what I have done
I find a lot of inspiration in visiting other plots XD
ooh i just looked at the pics! i def love it!! it looks so nice and cozy β€οΈ
I used a lot of the ravenwood and umbraan and elderwood stuff
and finding out you can plant stuff in the floor was helpful
i am not diggin this bookshelf. i wanted a cute little reading area under the trees!
maybe the Dragontide shelf? Or Elderwood or Umbraan? they're curvy and more...organic looking
no book shelf it is haha nothing is looking right
fair
Anyone know if there's a better umbrella I can find or craft? I want to add something to the balcony of my house
there is the lily rattan umbrella you get from crafting other lily rattan decor and summer stripe umbrella
Neat! any way I can get them?
lily rattan starter pack you buy from tish when you reach level 15 furniture making and the summer stripe umbrella you get from the rummage pile in palia took me forever to get that one
Noted. Where did you find the summer striped umbrella?
the rummage pile in bahari they change every irl day so today is h5...i just realized i put in palia and not bahari in the first response haha
Cool. Thanks for the info!
okay I tried but I couldn't get the table on paven I'll try again after I've slept π i am from Denmark and now it is night π
I found the rummage pile, unfortunately I didn't get the umbrella. Maybe next time hopefully π
Is there a way to attach the pillar so that it's on the top side of the builders stone floor? Every time I try it ends up on the bottom edge. I'm trying free up some decor slots from all the walled edging I made. I'm down to 96 out of 3500 left and being able to do this would give me back at least 200 slots if not more.
I discovered the honey bunch set and im SO obsessed and wanted to show my progress in decorating my house i love itπππ
Also what would fit in the middle section of this shelf? It shows theres an option to put stuff there but i cant find anything that fits
I wish there was more stuff to the bundle like cabinets and a wardrobe and a whole couch id be unstoppable
And a bookshelf!
Ask and Yee shall receive...
Do you mean for the honeybunch set? The bookshelf is a prize ball reward from Zeki's machine (there's also a chair and a bed there). And there is a couch in the set!
ππππ i only got the bed as a prize snd baught the set from Tish! Theres more??? Life is so good omg
Oh yeah, you can buy the starter set to craft from Tish and then get all the pieces.
Huh... My Caldera Kitsuus kinda matches the "Slate" coloring/dye on the Aristocrat items~
(May have to dye things in Slate now so they match my little "Lady"~
)
(There was also one other dye that was lighter, but kinda the same style, but I think the darker "Slate" fits the style better~
)
I think i found the PERFECT spot for targeted lure dropping
fixing to test the spot on some bees

Not a single plush though which is a crime
Is it possible to move flowers in a pot that youβve placed? Iβm on ps5 and am unable to select them and canβt pickup the container because the interior stuff must be moved
Are there any new furniture items in the underground with the new patch?
which flower in which pot? there might be a weird camera angle there needed to make it light up, other option is putting down an empty building, placing pot inside and picking up the whole thing up from top view (fastests if u have a spare one)
Q for the group - for reference pictures/video - would you find it more helpful on white wall/floor, black wall/floor - or both in a side by side?
(quick screengrabs to show my general idea)
Anybody know what recipe bundle number in the Lunar Path: Path of the Tadpole the Alchemist cottage B is in?
but what if
cottage B is kinda no-more, it was a set of a base room + some other pieces mixed, in the path it would be lvl 4 and then probably pieces from lvl 10 but to be sure u got to reach lvl 31 for all stuff that was used in the "old" cottages sets
Good to know. Thank you!!
would you find that beneficial for references?
Im confused how these work for corners...
for both contrasting options - yeah, u can see the colours on both at once and u have less work same time (which one would be better for wall and which for flooring im leaving to your judgement)
u not alone, only corner i found for this is on top of a building block :I
There is a list of add-ons you need for each cottage in this post, if you want to stick to the original design of cottage B: #π‘βdecor message And this post has a list of which items are at which level: #π‘βdecor message
They work well if you float them inside a christmas tree, but otherwise, I really don't know how they are supposed to work!
Omg this helps me SO much. I appreciate you letting me know!!!
So after a bit of playing around I figure out at least one way of getting the pillar to sit properly on the floor so it can be used as edging. However what happens then? GRASS!!!
To paraphrase the line from Dune. The object clipping of grass is the mind killer.
UHM, HOOW??? I am so curious how to do this hahaha
What if you put them on top of the floor at the edge? I mean you can't actually put them there, but you can glitch them there.
I haven't been able to figure out how to glitch them using a shelf. Every time I tried it always ended up on the bottom side of the floor, not the top.
That shines out from under the arcade game. So if you float the arcade game really high up above, you'll see this under the game.
Hmm, let me try something...
cackling over here that new players no longer start out as peasants in tents like we had to at launch XD
Made a new acct and was VERY confused at why I wasn't put in a makeshift tent and got a house from go π
I did the same yesterday in order to see where trees and rocks are placed on a new plot before we harvested everything. I was dumbfounded and sad to be given a new house.
Thanks. π
I can't remember, are you on PC or console?
PC
Can you flick?
I've seen it done but I've never really tried it. So guess the answer is not yet. π
Okay, so project one--learn to flick. Sorry for the interrogation, do you have a spiral cobweb?
I don't and I will spend some time figuring out flicking.
Okay, so those floors are a pain the behind, because they don't place on things. I can't get it onto a shelf! So I flicked it onto a shelf, using another floor. Then I rotated the shelf 90 degrees, and I flicked the pillar onto the edge of the floor. You don't need the cobweb--it just makes it easy because you don't have to have it say "something is in the way."
No grass!
Let me go see if I can flick with another pillar. One sec...
That looks so much better. Can I use a wood builder's floor, attach it to the shelf and then attach the stone floor to the wood for pillar flicking?
Oh yes! good idea!
salt in the wound Badruu π
rofl
I have a question about the alchemists cottage, is this the right channel?
Okay, as long as you can figure out flicking (which I'm going to explain real quick), this works really well. You can use another pillar to flick and it makes it place perfectly. Get your floor rotated 90 degrees. Place a pillar down nearby--you will use this one to do the flicking. Have another pillar in your inventory and note the number of it in your hotbar. Pick up the pillar that is nearby and move it to the edge of your builders floor. Slide it down as far as it will go --it will pop to the ground and turn yellow, then move upward from that--there will be about a pixel or two where it says "invalid placement" and then you'll hit the spot where it says "something is in the way" (my first picture below). At this point, hold down your mouse button like you're trying to place the pillar, and hit the number key for the other pillar that is in your hotbar. If it takes (sometimes I have to hit the number twice), it will place perfectly on the edge of your floor, and the other pillar will go back to where it was on the ground nearby (second picture below).
Yes, ask away!
When we make the two story, why can't we connect the roofs to make one big room?
No, unfortunately, we cannot connect the attic spaces, only the actual rooms. It's a bummer.
That is so frustrating! I spent hours trying to figure it out and playing with the roof connectors, which were a disappointment LOL
Yeah, the roof connectors are only external decor, not extra space inside. So you'll have a dormer or something outside that connects to no actual window on the inside. Kind of silly.
I hope they can tweak it so we can connect the attic space! That would be wonderful
Im actually interested in trying to do this too, but is there any way you could do a video π₯Ί Im not quite getting it. Im not sure what Im missing
I can't upload video--I've tried before and it just doesn't work. Are you trying to do the exact same thing or flick something else? Flicking is by far the trickiest glitch, and a lot of people have a hard time with it. It took me months to figure it out. π¬
Thanks for the help! I did make one big room upstairs but it's only with the flat roof.
Also for what it's worth, that was the super speedy version of the instructions. π I can write it out more clearly. What part isn't working?
OH actually i just got it π sometimes all we have to do is complain a little bit haha
Yay! This is a glitch that maybe works two-thirds of the time. Some things seem to flick more easily than others and sometimes I have to do it a couple times before it sticks.
Sometimes decorate home with this bricks walls is so horrible ><
Are You able to create rooftoop with this bricks floor?
Okay so I got this to work consistently but wouldn't you know Palia won't let you cheat. You can stack multiple pillars on top of the first, that way you only have to flick once. However any pillar used as edging after the first one has grass coming up through it. Now I only have approximately 399 stone builder's floors left to flick a pillar on to. π€£
Can I see how your guys did the outside of the estate home? I like the doors from it but the roof connector pieces look weird. But it looks weird if I don't put something above the door. What did you guys do?
π
I used a builders bridge on one of mine!
I think I'm going to do a split design. It will be more resource intense for tints...but also my character won't block the furniture XD
(at a time of day that doesn't tint the colors quite so much)
