Is there any list of lights that actually light the area they're in and lights that are purely decorative?
I love the honeybunch decor and hope to see the set expanded in the future but these lights are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine

for proper lighting im a fan of homestead ceiling light, raven wood celing light for custom spotlighting and the dragontide wall lights

Best would be to try it out. Some are rlly bright with white light, some have cozy warm light, some dont light at all.
My fav light source are still the makeshift candles, emberborn small lamp and the makeshift ceiling lamp

I feel you guys, I don't think I've actually had an original idea yet, most of my ideas have been hybrids of what I've seen on here. I don't think I've copied too many things exactly but I have had to copy tutorials because I don't have the skills that you guys do. I suppose I haven't always taken the time to acknowledge the creator in every case because it hasn't always been clear who the original creator was but I guess I'm guilty of doing it too. I'll definitely try to be more aware of it in the future though.

i did mine different than jess lol but either way works. i put a builders floor on the shelf, rotated it so it was straight up and down, put my pillar as close to the bottom as i can and then flicked the board on. when you pick up the floor piece itll lay flat and then you just have to sink the floor

Going to request if we can put repair kits in the ammo pocket since, it's managing tools, or if it can auto-call your home stash for impromptu repairs like in EW or Bahari. I asked if we could get a tool pouch for buggy jars, etc. so our inventory slot is freed up. Plus it helps streamers (something I am not lol.)

open your inventory and click the the red thing with the moon in it and all the lunar paths will pop up youll want to make sure the path of the tadpole is activated there will be like a lightning bolt in the top right corner thatll activate it. youll get xp from your dailies and weeklies and then if you complete the board that puts a lot of xp towards it along with obtaining the chests at the top at the townboard @fresh whale

It's the same issue as the small wooden barrels? the placement surface (grid) is higher than the actual surface of the object, so they float

its ok. but yes you have to have a sub floor directly underneath where you want your table. if you are planning on putting anything else on the second floor the whole floor has to have a sub floor in order for the grid to show up on the pavers

you will just have to remove all your pavers and make the whole upstairs with a sub floor and then lay all your pavers down

I admit I'm a little afraid to try and lower my entire floor to the ground for this maneuver, but I'll think about it.

yeah you cant have the pavers floating they gotta on top of the floor in order to get the grid

if you already have a floor under your bed you can remove the pavers and build off those floors that are under the bed and place your pavers back down

you can still continue it. you just have to take off your pavers. attach flooring to the flooring you have under the bed to cover the whole upstairs, obviously leave space for you to access the upstairs. place your pavers back down on the floor and you can place all your furniture down

That's odd. It should work on console as well. I don't remember which control it is, but the key to putting things on pavers is group select. They won't just place naturally on the paver. They usually actually place on the ground underneath, so with nothing underneath, you need to trick it into placing on the paver. A gourmet dessert bowl or a pillar should work.

They suggest moving it (using the normal movement option; otherwise, it would say "group selection/sélection de groupe" and not just "move/déplacer"), the pickup, and the color

The button for group selection is the same as for entering creation mode on Xbox ._.

Did you try left trigger (I think that's the control) even though it doesn't say you can do it? I think this might be a situation where it still works even though it doesn't say it on the screen. I'm trying to remember if it says it on the screen for me on PC.

Although you will have to put it on the ground outside first, because if you group select in there, it will probably select all those pavers and any builders floors underneath, too.

You put the screen in your inventory and make sure it's showing in your hotbar. Make sure you know the number for its spot in the hotbar. Place down some other object nearby, not where you want the screen, just somewhere near you. It can be anything, a pillar works well. Pick up the pillar and move it to where you want the screen. Don't place it but stand so that you are in the way and the pillar is red and it says "Something is in the way." Then hold down the mouse button like you are going to place the pillar and then hit the number key for the hotbar spot of the screen. The screen will place where you were trying to place the pillar. It's very important that you have the "something is in the way" message, and even with holding down the mouse button there is a little bit of timing to it, so you might have to try a couple times, but that is flicking. (You can also google tutorials for "obstacle flick.")

lay a floor piece out place your tub on it then take your web and put it on the floor. multiselect from the web and you can place it on the wall. from there you will have to push the floor back into the wall and down so it hides everything but the shower head. @flint escarp or @heady spoke would you be able to explain better how to push and lower the builders floor into the wall. that one i cant explain cause i mess it up half the time lol

Only the alchemist and the estate bases can be attached to eachother. You get the alchemist base from tier 4 in the current path, and the estate line from the kitsuu path

Is it inside your house? Trees have to be anchored to the ground, so I'm assuming (have not tried this) that if the planter is between the tree and the floor of the house, it will yeet.

So if you float the planter into your house from an anchor on the ground it should stay. I think? I have not tried this.

hi 🙂 - I did actually manage to get that setup on the autumn acres skin in case you were wanting to recreate it - it's probably right about where you have your ramp. What I still don't understand though is why I kept getting a 'something is in the way' error message when clearly there wasn't and I 'felt' as though I was moving the house over something almost as if there was a ghosted item there (not that I know anything much about ghosting) ... and @normal bone the green/red outline is exactly what I was experiencing when moving the house around too. I have quite a few of the skins and still having same issues (including default) ... don't know if any of this helps you guys but hopefully every little bit of info helps - darn gremlins

All I did was place a present on a present for the height to place the pavilion on so the pavilion would be at the same floor height as the conservatory window and placed the pavilion where I wanted it, then cancel placed it away. Then I placed an estate house on a present making sure it was at ground level so I'd be able to place the conservatory windows and placed the estate house where the pavilion was. Then I placed the conservatory windows. Then I removed the estate house. The only thing I found was that the base of the estate house is a little smaller than the base of the pavilion so I did have to patch it a little (I ended up using some camping tables which did show a little in the final product but hey, I was just playing around at that stage to see if it worked). It was a bit fiddly to make sure the estate house fit nicely in the middle but your skills in that respect are better than mine anyway. After all that, it was just leaving and coming back and hey presto ...

Each rug in unique in and of itself, and they don't always behave the same way/have the same collision. The easiest way would be to cancel place whatever is in the way of ur cursor out of the way to place it

For pc, u just grab the item u wish to cancel place, move it to another location where it would place normally, but instead of hitting the mouse button to place, you hit a number key on your hot bar that contains a starred placeable item, or a decor item (starred food/bug/fish, or furniture)

So instead of clicking, u hit that key, don't try to place it

It will temporarily lock that item in that spot, and when u switch plots, or leave ur plot and come back it will snap back where it was before u cancel placed it

Super easy, just a long explanation of what it's doing, lol. Just think of it like scooting ur item out of the way, and reloading ur plot scoots it back. All it is, is hitting a number key while holding it to lock it where ur holding it

cobweb is the easiest way. Put a pillar on top of the plates, put the cobweb on top of the plates, place it on the wall. From there use pushing (multi-select with another builder's piece) to move them off the wall

Hello! I've seen some plots that build around the character/player spawn point.
Is there a way to build more or move that point?
Or it changes with the plot theme?

The spawn point is the same spot on every plot skin. You can't move it. You can freely decorate around it using glitches, just be aware that if you stack too many things like terraces on it you might spawn inside them instead of on top

Also be aware there's 2 spawn points: one where you spawn when loading in from another map (so entering from outside your plot, or players joining you, or you switching from a plot with a different skin) and one slightly forward and to the left, where you spawn when you switch from another plot that has the same skin. Basically, loading screen upon entering = spawn point A, no loading screen = spawn point B

(Hope that's not too confusing, I just woke up haha)

As for the new main story, I only started it and haven't been able to finish it lol XD. But it seemed that way with the Elderwood update too. The main quest was super short and not as emerging I think. I remember my friend and I both super surprised when we finished it, thinking "wait, that was all?". So yah, I know they promise updates every month, but perhaps take a bit longer to really get it good.

Still enjoy the game occasionally, but it became more of a burden than enjoyable for me sadly

@hollow cloak if you take the present that the pavillion is on and place it down normally and put two pavers on top of the red present and place the pavillion back down on the pavers its literally almost the perfect height to line up with the windows. of course you will still have to grab between the floors but itll be a lot easier to hide with some rugs or decor 🙂

I don't have much lag, but there are some things that are harder to flick since the update. I was trying to flick a frame onto a plate the other day with the cobweb and it only worked about one time out of ten. I usually have no problem. (And my kid can even tell because of my pounding the keyboard... "Mom, are you flicking again?" 😂 )

It's an investigator dresser, cancel placed it out of the way, put a paltech square table there, then switch plots so they merged. I did the same with the 2 stoves inside it. I did sink the investogator dresser a bit as well, so the burners show thru the top. And then lined the bottom with chic shelves to hide the stove bottoms showing thru where the feet are

On the wall connecting a hallway to a room I'm unable to put any wall decorations on it I hear its a common bug. I'm on switch, is there a type of glitch I can do to help float or even place the wall decor on the bugged wall?

If you have a red present you can try to put the wall decor on it by using the float method and then keep doing it until you are happy with the way it looks on the wall then cover the present up

I usually cover presents using other furniture like a floor cabinet or something but it depends on what works for your build

If you can’t float then ask someone who can to help

It is sooooo fantastic. I use it for everything now. One tip... make sure you anchor your floats to the floor of your house once you're done (I'm pretty sure she explains this in the video). Otherwise if you change the wall, poof your floats are gone.

This entire blacksmith shed is out of bounds, with everything floated off the house which is also out of bounds floating off a red present. So if I move the present with the house now, the entire shed goes with it...

So that is sunk the same way you’d sink anything…. Choose an anchor, cancel place the anchor lower than its original position (as far you want the tub to sink), then place the tub on the anchor. When you pick up the anchor and place it down again, the tub will be sunk. There are lots of tutorials out there on sinking objects!

Did you get the tub sunk? It won't just place in the house sunk, becusse it's going to collide with the floor. So after you do the glitch to sink it outside, you cancel place the tub far away so that you can just move the anchor inside and not have anything colliding with the floor. Once you place the anchor, the tub will snap back and be sunk.

you would place like a paver on a shelf put your shelf to the height you want your tub sunk. cancel place the paver below the shelf, place your tub on the paver, pick up the paver and move it and the tub will sink. you will then move the anchor close to the outside of your house. cancel place the tub far away and take your anchor inside where you want it and the tub will snap in place. @topaz violet

All sinking methods are essentially the same. What did you do to sink it? I'm assuming when you say the one with the floor that you started with the floor on a shelf or a wall, then you cancel placed it lower, then you placed the tub on the floor. Which is what I described--the floor is your anchor. You start with the anchor "high" and move it lower to sink whatever you put on the anchor.

Once you have that and the tub is now attached to the floor piece and sunk, you have to cancel place the tub far away in order to place the floor inside. The tub will collide with the floor of your house, but if you cancel place it out of the way, you can still place the floor piece and the tub will snap back.

The angle is good, and I like the idea of logs or something that will match their enclosures. I wonder what you could use that isn't going to add to your total plot budget. Copper walls might work with some greenery to hide the tops of the bug enclosures. Does that make sense?

This may sound odd, but what about something like a row of camping benches, with the seats touching the tops of the terraiums on either side? To look like wooden connector pieces for the glass?

Doesn't have to be that object, but could give u some variation

Or even just more pillars angled with it on either side, to encase them, and u can leave a gap so u don't have to use as many bugs

Then I'd say adding the pillars on either side of the structure would be the best. You can center the glass wall, that way the gaps on either side will look intentional, and it will look like it's connected to those pillars

Grab something you can place on the table, but place it somewhere off on the ground. Have the planter in your inventory, note the hotbar number it's on. Then pick up the first item, stand yourself on the table and put the item in the middle of the table so it says 'something is in the way'. Then rapidly press place (left mouse for you) + the hotbar number of your planter together and it will flick the planter onto the table. Might take a couple tries to get the timing right

i raised the pavilion with two wooden pavers and it made it almost perfectly level with the windows and the gaps were so tiny they would easily be able to be hidden by decor. once it was raised the gaps werent as bad as they looked

I don't know if you were around then, but when the cottages were first released, we could not buy the add-ons separately. You could only buy cottage A or cottage B, even if you only wanted a chimney or extra ivy. When they made the add-ons separately available, they left A and B there, even though at that point there really wasn't any point in spending the gold on a cottage, when you could just buy a base room and the add-ons you specifically wanted (rather than the package deal, which was not a deal--there was no discount on the price of the pieces when you bought them as a "cottage"). But if you really want a true cottage A or B the way it was originally sold, you can just craft the individual pieces on this list...

Did you switch landscapes? Change to the basic landscape since it's pretty flat, build your thing, then switch back to Autumn Acres. Actually Aurora Peaks is pretty flat, too, but you might not want to be blinded.

Alchemist and estate go together you can attach those to mix and match and They are all one size with the option of creating a doorway or opening the whole wall. Harvest homes are the ones with different sized rooms. Those arent compatible with the the alchemist or estate

This is a known bug, when u move the house, the node can stay behind visually. I don't believe it will stay there tho (the roof add on)

There are some nodes that are bugged currently and won't inherit the roofing. I think there's a work-around. I'll see if I can find it.

If you have a roof there first and they change color and then you remove the roof, they will stay the color you changed them to. You only need the roof to change the color. As long as they are still attached to the house, you can remove the roof.

If u use the builder's bridge posts, sink them into the builder's stone pillars, and then cover on each side, you can add a roof extension to the front of ur build and make an overhang. Only 5 items? Maybe 7 if they aren't wide enough. And it would look good

You can search for videos on obstacle flicking—there are probably lots out there. But the quick instructions are…. Put two things on your wall (can be anything—frame, lamp, shelf). Have your flooring in your hotbar—note the number for it. Pick up one of the things on your wall and move to place it where the other one is…. You need it to be red and say “Something is in the way.” Hold down your mouse button and hit the number key for your flooring. The flooring should place on the wall!

Note that it will not look the same as it does on the floor. It will usually end up as vertical stripes.
