Aw thanks so much! I know the game is in beta, but I had really high hopes for the decorating. I went insane with interior designs in FFXIV. I built an ice cream shop / indoor activity area (climbing wall, built a carasoul, etc) and i also built an abandoned church complete with skyrim-esque catacombs. I'm SO about glitching / going nuts. Ok, I didn't want to keep typing and hog up the channel BUUUT! I really -really- like how you utilized the landscaping elements, those like chunks of land. I really want to get that plot and have ideas and I'm TOTALLY stealing that one! It gives a lovely sense of magic with a good dose of grounded (/badumtiss). I enjoy the floating aspect of that plot, but I think it's challenging to really put something that doesn't end up just taking suspense of disbelief out of it or giving only jumping puzzle vibes, and you avoided both of those with those chunks of land. Really nice.

Also, I like how you put the house off to the side. I'm a huge fan of playing around with layout and I'll always enjoy a good side-house placement to let the plot breathe and be a feature in of itself, which this plot definitely deserves. Great job! ^^

I detest the glitching. In ESO, you can merge items easily without having to resort to twisting yourself in knots to do so. The limitations here should not exist and are quite disappointing to be honest. Decorating should be fun not frustrating and you shouldn't have to watch videos online to figure out how to do something. It should be intuitive. But then I'm old and impatient so maybe it's my issue.

The amount of slab determine the height of the place on item, in this case is the gem more slab mean the gem will float higher than the anvil and the other way around, adjust depend which Item you want to put on.

you have a room selected in your mouse, then you select another plot from the list, and the you SPAM the load plot while the room looks Yellow (is ready to be placed)

the room is basically spammed to your another plot

it is also attached to the house on the other plot, so if you move the original house, the room will also follow ( unless you use so called Cutting Tool )

my plot is........ chaos. its just flowers everywhere. i think ive only finished 2 flower sections so far bc im easily distracted. the new flowers are really good for pastels, i dont think a gradient is easily doable atm with the colors we have available tho :(( i would suggest looking at irl parks and botanical gardens for inspiration on the layout tho. get a good feel for layering and such.

Hi all! I'm rather new, just started about a month ago. Really enjoying the decorating aspect! Two questions: it seems there's no sewing machine decor item in the game, is there a way to create something that looks close enough with the existing items in the game? And along that line, is there an item like fabric or a clothes pile? I know there's a sewing box recipe but I haven't gotten lucky with the rummage piles yet

yeah there isn't a sewing machine like item, my best idea is to maybe mess around with some paltech furniture on top of a table? and as for fabric or clothes, we have the rolled spa day towels, the wedding scrolls, and then the cozy ladder, blanket storage basket, and laundry basket all from the kilima chapaa pile those could maybe be worked with in some way?

yes, upside down floated. anchor is probably hidden under the rug or some of those flowers.

today I realised if you obstacle flick the skate board on top of a plate and then group select it with a winterlights candle, you can place it and rotate it. also pillar + group select does the trick and the skate can be placed on a wall too.

plus the dessert plate will not be attached

methods used: cancel placement + obstacle flick (and also group select= ALT-key used).

so why is the shelf first put so high up and then I bring it back down? because that is the wanted height for the spring lights to float. I cancel the shelf when I bring it down and then I obstacle flick the lights. then I select the dessert plate which is the anchor, and place it. then magic happens ( the lights will go where the dessert plate was actually (not cancelled) placed (up high) )

Flicked object stay at the same facing as default manual facing, can't manipulate that or so far as I know and experienced which why I like to place object on sunken red present or recently the plate and rotate the plate to prefer angle more than flicking straight into the area

The wall shelf grid moves whole tick not half tick... That's what my brain can muster up. I don't even know myself if you sunk it down one more tick it should be half a tick lower than the desired level but still reasonable

Wall grid is different than the ground grid and the wall items not using the ground grid unless workaround with some ground grid cancellations

the bowl trick is finnicky and the collision on some objects is different from others so results may vary. bowl trick also doesnt let you completely clip objects, only partially.

There isn't any furniture with labels as stairs, only people get creative with builder blocks, Pavers and shelves to manipulate and control them to create their own DIY stair :D

pillar won't go directly on a shelf but i've been playing with adding another wall and floor then the pillar but something isn't working right...i'm missing some step or other but can't figure it out lo

For this, you need to do the shelf trick, put a piller or small block down, turn it and then place your pillars as high as you want before turning the shelf back. You just need to hide the anchor if you don't want to see it with something else. If you're trying to do a make shift fence, repeat this step over and over but just using one piller as an anchor and 2 as the "fence" pieces.

If that doesn't make sense, I'll be back online later and can show you on my plot.

Place a builders pillar on top of the Wood Plank Paver. Then group select on that pillar. and then place it on the wall where you want the shelf to be. then remove the pillar.

Depends on your character and current camera facing. You can check by clicking to place the object first to see how it will facing and adjust your position to see where will it comes out to correct orientation

Yep, some plain wallpapers look good as flooring, some will get stretched out like that since it's not how you supposed to use it, the same going for flooring to wall.

They glitched industrial shelves in the inspo to make the framing and it's not so hard to do but if you wanna go the easy-legit way... Maybe add some pillars to it ?

To get it either higher or lower, you just need to play around with your anchor's height (the red present in the video) It's usually a bit of playing around with the shelf until you deem it to the good height

I dont think I understand the process so wel... I was using the shelf and had it as high as possible but the fish stayed ground level.... I am doing something wrong and I don't know what...

Did you cancel the placement of it when moving it to the ground ? (It's the cancellation glitch used for that, you don't really click to pose it down but just take another thing out your inventory)

I placed the present on the shelf and pressed exit.... I then picked it up chose the flower and then the fish and paced the fish on the present ... I then picked up the present and the fish moved the distant that I moved away from the shelf.... but the shelf was as high as possible but the fish stayed ground level

just that the mapped area is a pixel higher, no depth, just a basic square pretending to have depth

oooo the barrel (kilima set or sth) case again, it also dont let things sit properly on it, i can sink them that pixel down but that is getting ridiculous :V
