You can try to check for corrupt data:

You honestly don’t notice them. It’s so big and open me and mine play and really once you guys start doing quests and going out for certain things your in your own world.

Plus the people are handy for when you need things and trust me you will, Being able to request is so handy.
And sometimes with lures etc the more people the better

Even in busier servers you rarely notice people. And it's usually 1 or 2! Town is busier but it is not like other MMO's! I would suggest trying it out to see if he dislikes it or not!

It’s a nice group and most stick to doing their own thing as everyone running around is out of their plots for a reason, when I leave mine it’s for materials, or hunting helps if you put a arrow in something and someone else finishes it after you’ve lost track you still get the loot

Do you have a full ranch by any chance? IF so, there is a glitch when the horse appears as a baby not as a grown one so you cannot ride it because your ranch is full. You might need to give it the insta-grow cookie and make sure that there is space for it in the ranch

This is a known issue, s6 is looking into it. Having Jaakcat meat in storage will allow the recipe to continue where you should be able to select the usual stuff.

Is anyone having this almost everything is calling for jaakcat meat. I don't want to go to a new place yet. But when I try to do the recipes, it wants me to do all kinds of meats tho shows only 1 meat.. I'm on PlayStation 5... is this doing this to anyone else? Is this a bug? Also, some of the nub recipes want that jaakcat meat too. So if we have a quest to do, we can't get them completed. I'm not trying to speed run to get to the new place. Can someone please help me, I feel I’m being blonde. Why can’t I breed any of my horses? I seem to only be getting boys? Iv left rancher to the last min and don’t fully understand it all

You should be able to breed your horses as soon as you have two horses that aren't babies or venerated, and that haven't been recently bred, as long as you have space on your ranch. There isn't anything like male/female horses, you can breed any combination you want as long as the individual animals are available for breeding. It'll always put the first horse in the green/blue card, and the second in the pink card, that doesn't have anything to do with which horse you pick.

FYI, I submitted feedback regarding mounts. Hopefully others feel the same way and can also submit feedback!

1. moving the mount option to the secondary tools wheel so we can stop accidentally jumping on this horse when hunting, bug catching etc.
2. consider changing buttons for mount acceleration/deceleration. Use buttons instead of the thumb sticks as it is causing unwanted speeds when trying to turn or move. I’ve added acceleration/deceleration to my buttons but it doesn’t override the thumb stick, just adds additional ways.

Thank you! Hadn’t checked that, but unfortunately the stutter is still there. Even tried unpinning everything just to see, still all kinds of stutter. It almost feels like it’s related to things loading in. I don’t have the issue at plots, but any zone I go will have it specifically when I’ve turned around or traveled a little bit.

@sick quest I started playing on the switch OLED and it was good until it was opened up to the Xbox and PS5. With a huge number of additional players it started getting very laggy. I purchased the switch 2 and it's wonderful. no lag loading quickly. Makes playing palia very enjoyable again.

FYI they're going to be raising the price of the switch 2 by $50 at the end of summer I think. If you can I would recommend buying it at Costco.

To ride a horse from the ranch there is a mounts tab under collections, same way you would select a pet. Just make sure you haven’t accidentally retired your horse like I did, oops, it totally worked once I brought it back. Oh and I am on switch

Yup, no dice there either. I started with that one because the way it's stuttering seemed like it was the network at first. Got WMM tagging setup, QoS on the router, and everything though. I've even tried moving the game from my expansion card to the internal storage and that didn't change anything either... I'm gonna wait a little on the console reset since it's just this specific game having issues.

Two things I heard that should help with this are to play in docked mode (or at least with a charger connected to the switch), and to ensure the game's files are on the internal storage, not an SD card or so.

@magic crater you definitely need to have it in the main system memory. But I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the lagging and freezing that's just part of playing on the original switch. It will usually freeze when you go to a new area and the graphics load. I used to play on switch and then I bought the switch 2 and the game runs great.

Xbox has the WORST system level censorship for chat I have ever heard of for a console. And you can't turn it OFF COMPLETELY! Map coordinates H8 will get censored. and it isn't JUST PALIA. FFXIV has the EXACT same issue!

I need help. Installed the game yesterday on the ps5. Finally gave in to pier pressure from my wife. 😁 But I have some huge issues. When I'm done with the first dialogue, and gets teleported to my land to clear out three things. I can't see my character, I can't use my tools. When I press the tool, there is a green ring that appears around it, but it does nothing. I've restarted the game, uninstalled and installed it, updated the licence. Nothing works.

Yes. Ever since it came out on switch. Apparently its better on a Switch 2, but I can't afford a switch 2 for palia. so it rarely gets played since I can't lay down in my bed and play it.

someone may have a better solution, but personally i have the back grip buttons bound to the Enter key and Open Keyboard. this way when i click R4, it opens chat and the keyboard for me to type. also, i moved the keyboard to sit at the top of the screen so i can see what i'm typing lol. i can try write up instructions on how to do that if you'd like

Clicking the STEAM button and X together should open up the keyboard, then you can click Enter to chat (which hides the keyboard so you have to click Steam+X again lol). It works but it's a little jank, so here's instructions on how to bind the back grip button to open chat and the keyboard with one click, if you'd like to!

Binding Back Grip Buttons to Chat

• On Palia's page in your Steam Library, click the Controller icon next to the settings cog icon to open up the Palia Controller Settings.
• Under 'Quick Settings', toggle on the 'Enable Back Grip Buttons' option.
• Pick which grip button you'd like to use, click Add Command, and navigate to the Keyboard tab. Click Enter on the keyboard that appears. Next to the grip button you chose, you should now see that the Enter Key has been allocated.
• Click the settings cog icon next to the grip button you bound Enter Key to, and click Add Extra Command. Navigate to the System tab, and select Show Keyboard. Your back grip button should now show that it 'Executes 2 Commands'.
  You're of course welcome to bind the other grip buttons too! E.g. I also have one bound to take a screenshot.

Sometimes, for me the requests only appear after opening and closing the dropdown menus a few times. If you're still not seeing any, I'd recommend asking in the in-game chat if someone could request something. Another thing that I've seen help is completely closing Palia, changing your device's time, resyncing it with the internet using the automatic sync, and restarting Palia.

Um.. its okay. Lol i have issues when im using both joysticks at the same time. (Running and rotating) can feel a lil.. skippy/jumpy. It can be extremely dark at night so i have to crank up my brightness or go into a darker room. Not sure how good u are at hunting but i already kinda struggled with the button finesse and those dang jaakcats made it 100x harder lol bled thru so many arrows missing shots! I also play on pc and im spoiled to the control of the mouse 😆 id say other than hunting, its not much different than how elderwoods acts on S2

Do other console players find it difficult, as do I, to ride their horse?

Switch 2 gamer here.

It’s not only challenging for me to twist that round L button “just so” in order to route my avatar in the changing directions in which she needs to travel, but also, it’s hard to control my mount’s speed with that button. My horse frequently runs off willy-nilly without me even touching that button.

And doing both—choosing direction and monitoring speed—at the same time? Yeah… not easy to say the least. Kind of takes the fun out of getting on the horse.

But I’m hanging tough and trying to get better at these new mechanics.

So far, I’ve found it best to try and limit my horse to speed 2; otherwise, my avatar and her Dawnspur are more than likely to go off course, ram into a boulder, soar off a cliff, or drown in water.

And even at speed 2, my efforts to manage the riding mechanism are difficult and time-consuming.

Any console players out there with some helpful suggestions for me? Some tips for improving my riding?

Hi! I've heard many controller users are struggling with the turn and speed-up controls being on the joystick. If you can, I'd recommend rebinding the speed-up control to another button, maybe your sprint button, so that the clash with turning doesn't occur.

i searched for this issue today as i experienced it trying to make a big set of fountains using builder blocks. i had done this before, but for some reason my new one wasn't working. not sure if you resolved this or not, but i found that i had to first place the fountain on the ground, then move it to the builder blocks i was originally placing it directly from my pocket onto the blocks, and there was no water.

Play while docked or otherwise connected to power. Move the game to the built-in storage. Turn off the Switch completely. Restart your modem/router. But ultimately, there isn't much we can do, since it is a 10-year-old design built for low cost and portability.

The game generally runs more smoothly on the Xbox than it does on the Switch, so I would imagine plot visitation issues would be less common with the Xbox, but I've never played on anything but the Switch. There might be someone else here who's more familiar with Xbox who might be able to help you troubleshoot. I know a major issue that contributes to plot visitation problems (at least on the Switch) is the fact that some people have super busy/glitched plots - those types of plots always have issues for me.

The fishing spots are bugged, so they were added as a drop to the jaakcats, you can get sillyfins from hunting any of them.

Using my phone charger for the switch too, can confirm it works fine. Switch charger is a little faster, but I wouldn't want to use a faster one than the normal one anyways.
