I agree. I like the new way of getting ac that doesnt require losing all your wl. If there's a ts, you can do the shard instead of going completely through eden.
but the crawling is pain. Literally contributes nothing to the gameplay experience. I was going to write an essay almost about why they should revert eden changes, but they seem to have made eden a bit easier to compensate, though I dont know much first hand, if anyone has footage or description of a full run and what they changed i'd love to see.

The memory can be triggered only in a specific shards. The characteristics are that they are red and surrounded by crabs. I don't think today's shard offer that, maybe tomorrow

Compensations for Crashing is rare. You see that some device playerbase crashing for weeks that hasn't even a compensation for it. Only until the time that TGC decided to push for it when it escalates to certain point.
TGC is now known for it's slow known issues update recently even tho the bug was widely known by the community's.

the memory you get (in the dark room) isn't linked to the realm you do it in. they go in order no matter where or when you do them: jellyfish > crab > manta > krill > whale > explosion. if you do them all in the same day in the same realm it'll still go in this order.

I think the main issue people are going to have is my main issue... It isn't a season. It's a "Days of" event.

I do like the season otherwise, it's pretty and there's a new challenge... But it's not a season really, at least, not in the way that seasons have been established.

Also, those shards really need an "opt in" meditation circle at the start of the realm. For more than just the risk of crabs, also for photosensitive players. I mean, the shards aren't as bad as they were for flashing, but still.

i’ve been squashed six times by a shard despite not opting in for shard quests. i lost senseless wl because i can’t even hop around to collect them. i’m too busy on my knees literally begging some stranger to light me. it’s the most humiliating experience i’ve ever faced in a video game. it’s really dark especially for a game about sunshine rainbows and happiness

Disabling prop placement around spirits is such a nonsense decision, it’s not as bad anymore since strangers no longer had collision with props (Yes, I’ve seen instances where someone logged in and the first thing they saw was a spirit 2873 ft in the air, frustrating but easily avoidable by a refresh)

you have to realize that iOS is only 2 devices - the iPhone and the iPad, while android covers god knows how many brands. that's why fixing things for android is painful and slow because a fix for one device could break for another. TGC has been trying to maintain compatibility for older android devices so more people can play the game.

like, i totally understand and agree with your frustration over the switch issue and their lack of compensation, but the stuff about fixes kind of are technical limitations that can't be helped. :X

I like the crawling mechanic, but I feel like it makes griefing so much easier. The kill spot in the GW is going to be insane, if you have to crawl swim out of it. Not to mention getting pelted by crabs if someone decides to rodeo them during a shard event.

It almost feels like it should’ve been reversed with crawling happening if you spend too much time with no light instead of immediately after.

Shouts aren’t that long range anyway so losing it doesn’t feel that terrible, but torches kinda suck since they go out as soon as you jump or do anything related to flying. If that was changed I think people would feel a lot better about it.

Just a thought right off the top of my head, but I think the crawling mechanic frustrates me enough that I'd rather close and reopen my game again to restart if I'm anywhere outside the final part of Eden, rather than trying to deal with it. Not entirely sure that's a good sign, since I imagine that factors that frustrate players enough to close the game for whatever reason are going to increase the number of people deciding that they just don't want to continue playing (i.e. the ones who decide to take a break for the moment, then later decide that they actually don't want to return when it's that much of a negative experience).

Message got deleted, but eden is super easy right now. You can fly through it without needing anyone (it’s actually beautiful, check it out before it’s patched). With hearts as well, you never actually need to interact with people to trade in the constellations. And thanks to the controls, doing CR’s with people makes the run slower, so soloing is actually better in most cases.

If sky is a social experience but there’s no shared objectives to be social about, why be social?

I think crawling fixes this. When you go to Eden, there’s now a reason to group up with randoms and become friends bc it increases your chances of success.

i have probably about 60 something friends, and the only friend ive done eden with (outside of the moths i end up friending there) is a friend ive already known outside of sky. i barely have chat unlocked with anyone, and i dont think id want to randomly go up to any of them and be like hey lets go do eden.. even when i go to eden and merge with other people we end up getting disconnected. a good majority of the times ive done eden have been alone

also.. even if i end up kind of sticking with someone until the end of eden, a lot of the time they just ignore me anyway? esp ppl that went in with their own friends (ppl that go in with friends will not even look at you lol) theres been a couple times where ive wanted to meet someone i did eden with in orbit, and theyd just hurry up and get out of orbit to carry on w whatever theyre doing. so even if you can find people to go with, because helping others is harder and riskier, strangers are even less likely to help you

Sorry for the late reply, i was sleeping. Which spirits do you want to know? Treehouse spirits are located outside the treehouse area, right side. There were assembly spirits. Season guide alone hidden near the clouds.
Famous hidden valley spirits, under dreams village, far behind the rock statue slightly to the left.
Hidden rhythm + performance guide + stagehand at the performance area. You need to reach penguin cliff then head towards the sun then to the right.
There's hidden spirits under the performance clouds too but i haven't explored it

My current thoughts on Shattering are that it should be a shorter season (like the first few seasons), and whatever start date is currently planned for it should be delayed until the issues and things that are unclear are addressed more fully. I don't really see a reason for it to be a 10- or 11-week season

There isn't much of a story or new area to explore the way there has been with previous seasons, so they could have done the shard events as a smaller thing not a full season, and then incorporate the cosmetics in a different way or use them for a different season idea in the future, idk

I'm in sky beta, the place where you discuss the future aspects of the game,. But so far, the game has been giving us ridiculously stupid "hard" missions after the other and whatever the beta community asks for it gets stupider and stupider when it comes to the essence of the game! So on topic that TGC making the game directed towards veterans old players and not new players, this is my opinion.

-Everyone is focusing on eden crawling but shards events are giving ACs without even worrying about losing all the wls.
This would be beneficial for everyone, new or old to save time if they need ACs for say TS or a friendship node.

• I am not in favor of inflation in sky but i guess it is good to put a limit for especially new players to spend candles on friends that they recently met and don't even stick around for longer and i am hoping that it would lead to more meaningful friendships. In this case, old players anyway don't go on a friendship shopping spree because of obvious reasons.
• TGC has brought back past ults (reskinned ofc) which not all old players liked. This was bc of feedback given by new players.
  -y'all need to understand that not every old player has 1000+ candles. A lot of them just keep enough candles and hearts and only run quests to complete seasons.
  -The new Chevron system was implemented to save the new players from the grind. ~~afaik most of the old players play sky for fun and have stopped grinding ~~

1. Grinding Eden for ascended candles takes forever, is annoying, and ruins game experience
2. There needs to be another way to earn ascended candles that is still challenging and meaningful
3. Shards of eye of Eden randomly fall anywhere in sky for no reason causing chaos and disruption
   Is there a way for this to be less disruptive? Maybe falling less frequently or smaller impact that still needs teamwork to remove?

I think having our FIRST EDEN SEASON based around such a new concept/system that’s already incredibly controversial in beta is just not the best idea. They could’ve saved this for a later season, but I think something as important and wanted as an eden season should’ve stuck to the basic layout to avoid any disappointment or problems. This season already is a huge mess to other players in beta. There’s things I definitely like, but it’s just.. I don’t know anymore. I’ll send this to feedback more in-depth later. Just thought I’d share my own 2 cents on this.

I think this concept could eventually work if more thought was put in. Being on a time crunch with this season currently ending… I’m just not sure what’s going to happen. ESPECIALLY flawed with that crawling mechanism that just ruins eden as a whole.

That being said. I’m excited for any improvements that come to this season/the game soon!

I got 3 AC from the shards, lost no wl. A Win situation.......A previous day I lost 2 wl and got 3 AC from shard...Still a Win. If I had to go to Eden I'd of lost 12 WL getting those 3 AC so I dont see the problem myself in losing a couple of wings at the shards. If I dont have help at the shard and I'm hit badly and can't get up from crawling I just go 'home' and return to restart. This season is here to stay so we need to help each other find positive solutions eg candle recharge memories etc that we can automatically put into gear as soon as it comes to Live to show them......here, do this, it helps. Then they can pass this info on too.

With the amount of feedback we’ve all given which seems to be pretty unanimous i think it would be nonsensical for tgc not to change up some key features of this season. Making the changes we want requires a bit of time though, the team have been pretty silent, i have my fingers crossed that we might see a major update to the season in beta when it’s ready but only time will tell

I've always Ground run Eden in Live but in Beta the wind is stronger on the last leg of the run up the hill to the last cave. If that comes into Live next season then im learning the flying route.

To be honest, I do not understand why TGC decide to implement on the crawling mechanism.

1. In previous patches where we get slow down in eden, there were already so much complains till tgc decided to kept it at bay and reverted it back to the current live version

2. The current live version was harsh on the wing lost but it wasn't as bad when you lost the ability to move and only gave you the option of being hit. Not that you can do anything about losing wl while crawling and begging as if anyone would help.

Sure, some people prefer a challenging eden hence the shard events are brought up for moth / easy mode for sky players.

Here you get the crawling mechanism as well

For 5 wedges players, you are likely to lose your light if you are not careful.

Crabs : takes away 1-3 wedges
Red shard crabs: takes away 2-4 wedges
Red shards: takes away 2-4 wedges

I do not think it is an enjoyable thing to do shard event alone especially when you do not have rechangable items or you are at gw / forest where the area is not able to recharge you at all.

If you are lucky, you may merge with a helpful player. If you are not, then you get players who wont help you to pick up wing light even when you are collecting shards together.

please reconsider about putting in the crawling mechanism, there was a reason why the slow down action was removed in eden previously
Players do not want it and I do not see the reason why it should be forcfully brought into live.

To add to this, the crabs in Eden deal triple the amount of damage than normal. If you're hit, you will instantly lose your light unless you have more than 9 wedges and possibly with this new mechanic of crawling being introduced, if you were to get ambushed by a crab in Eden that unexpectedly walked its way up to the ledge above the dark water, you may get yeeted and forced into a crawl state if you're not paying attention or have your volume muted. It's never safe to AFK while just below the crabs either, as they can unexpectedly gain enough speed to climb up the ledge and knock you down and repeatedly bully you to death.

Personal experience. Some friends of mine buying their closest friends AP so they will keep playing. But eventually the friends still stop.
TGC might think items are the only thing important to keep players engaged.
But based on what I've seen, owning AP to get limited items, friend could buy others IAPs doesn't guarantee interest.

People play sky for different reasons. Some to play music, some to socialize, some to collect items, and me personally i play to explore.
Now they keep removing glitches to explore, especially the table drive, i lost all interest

Recharging from clouds will need the skykid to at least fly through it. If you're just walking, you won't be able to get recharged. In case you're being extinguished, I wouldn't think it's possible to recharge from the clouds at all. Since you're unable to fly

There's a minimum height at which clouds recharge, if you're completely drained and can only brush the bottom (i.e. like the clouds in prairie or those to the hermit valley entrance) they wont replenish energy.

It wasn’t in this build, but both I and the stranger who accompanied me used clouds in Hermit Valley to recharge when we were both extinguished. Don’t know if they changed it, but it did work.

You must have caught an updraft and gotten high enough, sometimes a player will get floated a bit higher than the ground by updrafts and the cloud charging mechanic kicks in. Otherwise, you're still grounded even if you do happen to be among the clouds

I don’t think it has any real logical reason behind it other than they wanted to make up an “explanation” for that change to make it seem logical to us, and the change was to make the act of helping more, I guess, “personal” since you can’t recharge extinguished players from a distance now. Either that, or it’s just another way of “upping-up difficulty”. Which I don’t like nor agree with, but oh well.

I still dont get why the logic bars recharging a crawling player through deep call. That's the mmorpg equivalent of saying a healer can only heal if there's 100HP left and not less and when the injured player does die, you can't resurrect them. I guess my pc gaming background is still rebelling against the concept.

So is the endgame to ramp up situational awareness to pan-opticon levels, ie. We have to literally watch everyone every step of the way and get to a player "on time" (before fully drained) to deepcall? How's that gonna work in the chaos of the shard events and eden? I can barely keep track of the danger crabs xD

i find the pacing of this season less boring than previous seasons. I never felt very engaged with the whole, do a quest every 14 days for 70 days!! truly not that entertaining to me. I appreciate that shattering is a season where there are fun and noticeable changes to the realms each new day
