Depends (not much harder, imho).
Eden before PNR had very little or no change (the only few changes to it were more lightable-spots-behind-cover areas).
At PNR, there’s more cover than before (especially for what used to be permanent rock rain), while the crawl-when-down means one has to be more cautious than usual (until the last parts of it).

Welcome back! There have been a couple of eden updates yeah. Regarding the wl you can now lose up to 7 wl, but it depends on your wl count in that moment in time. At 150+ wl you'll lose up to 5-6 per hit (+1 in dark water) and at 50 wl you'll start losing 1-2 per hit (+1 in dark water). In between that it's around 3-4 per hit. I would've said that jumping in the endless rain isn't recommended anymore as it'll knock you down easier but recently we've had a crawling feature added, as soon as you lose your light.. you'll start crawling painfully slow

The wl update was due to players complaining that you died too slow, those players were 150+ wl, and it was true but I personally don't think the update was needed. TGC listened and made wl losing easier and faster

And I guess TGC liked the update to eden and decided to roll with more updates

Interestingly enough the amount of wl and time needed for eden hasn't actually changed by that much, it stayed almost the same, if not the exact same. That argument was indeed unfair though. The losing wl at a faster rate at first and then slowing it down made it pretty similar to how it was before, wl and time wise

They're constantly removing or adding something, how many players ask for it almost doesn't matter. Even if they don't listen to a lot of feedback, it's also unrealistic to implement every single thing that's suggested. It's recommended to bring one friend at least. It's not super important, but every time you enter Eden's big door after opening it, it does tell you to travel in groups to best protect your winged light. That's a recommendation, not mandatory. It's pretty helpful to have even just one friend because they're another source of light. They bring better benefits to the table than alone. If you go alone, you will need to rely on your recharge props or light sources nearby.

That, or your instant recharge potions.

I’m so confused. I just started Eden and had to come back because of the crawling thing. It makes it impossible to get to safety. You basically have to lie there and die. How do you get around that?

Going in a group is a big, big help! Plus having a prop that can help recharge your light is also a good idea. Making use of the light statues there, especially in the constant rain (aka second zone) help there as well. If you have to solo it, again prop if you can. Group can help you recharge your light faster then getting to a prop or light statue though due to crawling. If you do start crawling and aren't close to a light source, then yeah I would basically just continue to slowly crawl towards statues and give wls as you're losing them

I never made it to pnr. I couldn’t even get up the hill to the tunnel with the winged light. I have recharge spells but by the time they charge you, the rocks are back and take the energy away again. I also took the torch but it kept spawning in the rock and wouldn’t light. In addition, if you have no light, you can’t light a prop. There aren’t any props that spawn already lit, are there? 🔥

i think that it depends on how carefully you light the statues but i always get 10 or more ascended candles

If you go alone with no rechargeable props or friends, prioritize lighting up the lamps. If you are too far from the nearest light source, get to the nearest cover or immediately use an instant recharge potion as quickly as you can. Only use potions when it's a last resort. I recommend also using fast charge spells around the second portion of Eden or at least halfway into the area, that makes it easier.

The more statues you save, the more AC you get. 4 statues is equivalent to 1 AC. There are 63 statues total.

If you are unsure what statues need saving, look for the blue aura or tint the statues have in their petrified corpses.

If it is saved, it won't be blue, it'll be yellow.

It helps to stay behind cover, and pan the camera above yourself so it's in a top down angle, so you can see farther around you. It helps you plan your next move, too. Just remember to time your movements or you'll get crushed by rocks.

Is there a reason why you can't join your friends in Eden? I understand why for the Point of No Return, but for the rest of Eden before that, it seems a little odd. Especially since TGC really wants you to go with friends.
Context being, a friend of mine were doing Eden and they panicked and went home, but because they couldn't join me again we had to start all over

It's just the way that it is, but for future reference if you were both in the same area before, you shouldn't have to start over completely if you both go back home. If both of you sit at the return shrine together, it should send you both back to wherever you were in the same instance

I’ve gotta say, as time goes on, I love the recent changes to eden + the crawl mechanic more and more. Every Eden run I’ve had since the update has been amazing. I’ve either had a great time running it with friends, or gone solo and made at least one friend along the way. I lost so many winged light trying to rescue the two friends I made today when they got knocked down (repeatedly) on that last hill before the tunnel, but we all made it up together in the end and went through the PNR holding hands. Had a blast, don’t even care that I didn’t have enough WL by the end to get the last 3 statues on the dunes.

Yes, it is normal. You give your WL to the statues in exchange for ascended candles (AC) that you can use to purchase wing buffs from the spirits. If you purchase them in Orbit (the blue starry place before you're reborn) then you can get the extra wings right away to help you get started in your next life. Then you can go through all of the realms again and recollect your other wings

Yes, it’s tough, but I love it. The vast majority of Sky’s gameplay is a cake walk, so I love the fact that what little challenge the game offers has been made more harrowing. And now that we can get ascended candles from shards, getting every last statue in eden isn’t quite as important as it used to be.

With timing and practice you can get the first 33 statues without losing anything to the rain.

You can get the next 15 statues before the continuous rain using a hub-and-spoke approach. There are 8 safe spots. Use a prop with fire.

After that, it’s just crawling. Get as many statues as you can.

I’m an old player returning to sky (left around season of flight) and i was wondering if/how eden changed? like, is there more light statues? because i heard that there was, I may be wrong

if anyone could tell me the changes made i would really appreciate it :D

The total number of statues is the same, 63. The locations of some statues are changed.

The old continuous rock rain area is divided into 2 parts, occasional rain and continuous rain. The new occasional rain area has lamps for recharge but these are farther from the statues conpared to the first/old occasional rain area.

The rocks in the new occasional rain area appear in patches and follow a route instead of all at once like the first occasional rain area. Before the patch of rocks appear in an area there is a patch of red light on the floor of that area.

Now if you have lost your flame you would be crawling at a slow speed slower than the previous walking. Deep calling cannot recharge extinguished players. You lose more wings per hit now.

No, with the Shards, you can get AC and buy wing buffs, but when you do, your wing tray will have a wing buff now, so the game treats you like a normal player and sends you to the dark room, essentially killing your wingless
