if you ever want to play a valk you don't own

you can access a trial via attack > events tab > tactics class > tutorial for the valk

the last stage usually gives you a preset team to play as long as you want

For now, im only earning around 360 per abyss

getting partial is ok especially if you're not meta. Just make sure to not neglect it outright

abyss happens twice in a single week

so that's 1000 for a whole week

Jingwei is diplomacy and Dreamseeker is stamina so you can deprioritize those

But you’ll eventually want at least one SS rank (Mei/Sakura/Rita/Seele) and one (Bronya/Fu Hua/ Aponia/VillV) from the war treasury

Generally the recommendation is to just save up for new releases and pull them if you have the funds for them + their weapon, fdd( s rank coralie ) already is several patches old and if you're in RL and below the difference between her and other symbioses supports generally isn't that big. F2ps already can't afford every valk + their weapon so hence why they also can't really afford to backpull old chars a lot

you can go for it as long as you're aware of the tradeoffs in this aspect since personal liking is a valid factor, also note that they almost always cost 9.6k crystals so if you are committing at least make sure you have that amount to get it

starter supply provide a discount but this is only for the first ten roll. So you're only getting a ten roll for the cost of 7

carnival is also ongoing and you should have gotten 20 free pulls for it.

in both cases, guarantee (pity) is at 90 rolls. Maybe consider carnival more when assuming worst case scenario if you must consider badum or dragon coralie.

However beware that when starter banner or the entirety of carnival event goes away, any pity built up on them does NOT carry over to anything else. If you must roll on them, make sure you can finish rolling to guarantee in anticipation of this worst case scenario of not getting them early. Single rolls are highly advised to ensure not over rolling too. (it just takes more time but there's no tangible benefit to doing 10 rolls. A ranks don't really mattter and even with singles you're still guaranteed one in every ten single pulls)

Before you do this, neither of these are top priority. Generally the main valk of interest this patch is XDC Mei in battlesuit supply A or something. You want to prioritize that and her weapon. No dupes needed.

but anyway to actually answer your question, if you're not currenly using farmable coralie on the team, you can give her signature hammer to the gacha coralie.

Otherwise if that hammer isn't available, use the default.

Calm baby is the foundry craftable. These weapons are generally not worth upgrading since they are still very behind the best possible option even when maxed out. It's ok to craft it but only level it to 35 and do NOT upgrade it. It will be trashed later for basically full value on refund if you do it this way. Upgrading is not efficient

those are fine. I do not recommend spending alot of affixes early on though

affixes aren't major stat boosts. Early on the difference they make usually aren't important. Eventually in the future the valk you're spending on may see less and less use and you may want these affixes more for something else. Furthermore because of how rng the system is, you can spend a huge amount going after ideal/high affixes

later in the game when you're in higher competition, other people will be using similar valks and also playing similarly well. At that point the finer differences can still matter.

but early on alot of players are missing important team members and gears, aren't well levelled up, or just don't know how to play.

are you talking about AE imaginons? Those are ok to buy with asterite (edit: more so to buy honkai shards to upgrade weapons. This is a valuable resource so don't spend it carelessly.), but before you do that check out the asterite priority list in the pins. Focus on getting some quick valks to use early on, and upgrading A rank coralie's ranks first.

ok i see. Usually signature wepaons are very important for valkyries. They bring

• 30-40% personal damage. Too much to ignore if using them as a dps
  • every new valk can now be used as a dps or as a support depending on how they slot in the team
• some weapons might have important utility

in the case of reruns in general, their dps uses have declined so I actually would give you an exception here and skip their weapon. You're mainly using them for half baked dps early on, and otherwise more just support later

In the case of FDD

• her dps team wants triple Rite of Oblivion valks which are difficult for early players to assemble even though farmable coralie is one of them. These don't release often. This is also one appeal to getting FDD, so it's easier to form RoO teams later in the future for a new RoO release. But don't expect to use FDD herself as a strong RoO dps immediately, hence more the reason to skip her weapon
• as a support, she is one of the best ones for the teams she fits into. However supports perform pretty similarly as long as they match well. Her weapon does give her a chunky team buff and enemy debuff, so not having it makes her no longer the best and future new valks you get may be better than her. Still, this is fine for early game and she'll still support ok enough. We more care about the support roles she can fulfill that you cannot farm for. A few other points i want you to be aware of

• meta is emphasized in this game with the abyss gamemode, where you need to perform well enough and later on perform better than other players. Abyss gives alot of crystals but changes alot to emphasize many teams.
  • Meta doesn't have to be everything. Getting a partial amount from abyss is ok but try not to neglect it. If you see yourself more as a casual player, story and events don't need you to own any gacha valks.
  • Our advice is generally long term meta focused. You're free to tell us if you have other priorities so we can adjust to fit you.

Since you already got FDD, i will again recommend you to focus on XDC Mei rather than badum kiana

• in general for long term meta, the newest releases are assumed to have the greatest longevity (valk and weapon together).

• A f2p player cannot necessarily afford every new release at average luck. It's expected to skip every once in a while. With this emphasis and budget in mind, it's generally not recommended to go after reruns.

• FWS kiana is already a year old and prob won't last as long. The reason why to even reroll for FWS kiana or FDD coralie is to support the Mei of this patch. However the cost to getting FWS kiana at this point might be another 90 rolls at worst.

  • These 90 rolls can also just go towards a future valk so you don't have to skip something as early down the road.

• FDD coralie alone technically isn't sufficient for a full Mei outburst cycle. Even with FDD coralie and VBm coralie you will still end your outburst early. Having both FWS kiana and FDD coralie can be nice so you can start playing Mei to her full extent earlier.

• As a new player, you can get enough crystals for all of mei, mei weap, and kiana if you play alot but the work and time for this might be unreasonable.

  • again the crystals for kiana can arguably be better allocated to something new in the future.

• the main reason why i would even tolerate pulling for reruns is because the next patch ||will not have new content to support mei dps. On the other hand, Mei can support the next release instead. Check #🔮cn-gameplay-discussion pins for more details.||
  • edit: in the long term you can get your second support for mei dps from a far future new release instead
• overall long term wise i still do not recommend going after FWS for your case. Up to you especially if you feel you're more focused on playing mei dps fully sooner than later.

You can try to get lucky on the valk banner while staying above 17k. That way if you get valk early, you can still guarantee weapon. As long as it's not a starter/carnival/ascension supply the pity will carry over to the next banner

Getting valk only or weapon only is not advised and would be very awkward so try to avoid that scenario. Don't attetmpt to push for it if you cannot guarantee.

• valk and weapon (possible reroll target)
• valk only if not new and free (skip weapon) (possible reroll target, esp this patch where the reruns are easier to reroll for)

• divine key weapon dupes
• whatever dupes of new releases that interest you
• reruns of interest to catch up on (can be higher if you want them for non meta but instead favorite reasons)

now the ===== separator is there because as i said earlier, f2p cannot keep up with all new releases as is

so there's arguably no room to get anything below it

later in the game once you your account is built enough you can consider trading off horizontal coverage for more vertical investment (edit: mainly the astral op imo) but this should only be considered for the highest tier and competing against whales

Should I Pull AstralOps?

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

nope. It's just another kind of multiplier. The difference is that elemental only affects fire/ice/lightning. Physical only affects physical. Total works for all.

It's kinda silly when we look at total vs elem/phys. Since elem/phys also affects all at that point, but elem/phys and total are separate multipliers

you might wonder if fire dmg and elem are separate but these are the same category. They add together if applicable (obviously fire doesn't help ice dps)

You can loosely think of elem as fire/ice/lightning dmg all at once.

lower link are expirables and missable. Prioritize those. But some of these might not be worth doing (events give out a chunky amount compared to other things but can take alot of time which overall may not be worth it if you hate what you're doing in it. In the end it's only around 2-3 rolls too)

Overall, you should only affix Best-in-Slot Stigmata and generally aim to get as much Atk as possible on your DPS Valkyries first. Ensure that the Battlesuit/Weapon Type matches what the Affix line demands otherwise the Atk will not apply.

Remember only Physical Damage can crit, and "crit ratios" do not apply to Honkai Impact 3rd.

so here's some further explanation to what affixes are

but the tldr is these are smaller stat gains. It can be arguable early game to spend a bit to get something, but generally early on other factors are going to matter more and affixes won't fix those issues

i generally overall recommend to stay away until you encounter a specific scenario or reach high meta scenarios where they can actually make a difference

Beginner Weapon Option

Ai-chan recommends that you keep the box until you have a use case for one of the weapons. Both Purana Phantasma and Nocturnal Stealth have their uses. Key of Ego is generally not recommended.

If you insist on opening the box immediately, Purana is likely to have more usage long-term due to the team tdm buff and RC being able to quickly debuff enemies which may be useful for SS MA.

I can't give you a number but as long as the other valk you use to replace mei is still symbiosis, it might still be good enough. FWS can be a faster but weaker option for example. Generally the damage loss from matching supports isn't drastic. Usually like 5-10%. In very bad cases it can be 15% (e.g. hohe for LoA)

In the case of weaponless FDD, her weapon has a notable support buff and debuff on it so not having it makes her lose roughly 12% overall team damage. This might be enough to make her worse than other options. Maybe consider FWS and PS primarily for now. LV has some cases where she prefers PS anyway

can keep hle in consideration too

FDD does have passives to boost the team's status inflicting potential so maybe keep her in mind if you need alot of bleed trauma (vill-v???)

Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

1. Just use them to upgrade a stig (as long as it's not a partially upgraded one, you lose value otherwise), no point in keeping them
2. I don't think you'll get mileage out of any of these weapons, might as well keep if you wanna
3. ||If you don't have SW, get her, otherwise keep for the affix rerollers if you wanna be a competitive player||
   4-6. Either use it for a Prism or to complete the set if you have the respective valk/dkey
4. Check "S-rank Egg" in the pins

From the AW/AL box AL is more valuable

The anni mat box can be used as necessary (ideally on Toruses or Metals)

From the A-rank frag box pick according to the Asterite Investment List in the pins

With purple eggs you ideally wanna do the following: get all valks in ER -> get the remaining -> get them all to S -> pick one (doesn't matter who) to get to SSS to farm Witch Orbs

In the Phase Shifter/SC Metal boxes the latter is generally more valuable, but you can use them as needed

From the donut boxes you wanna be picking donuts until all of your Gene Limits are maxed

The average is about 30k ish which is achievable

At 3 a week times 9 weeks is 27k, so you can pull most patches and then occasionally skip if you get unlucky

If you hard pity everything every time as an established player you’ll have to skip about 1 patch in 3 but pretty much nobody actually has that happen

Overall, you should only affix Best-in-Slot Stigmata and generally aim to get as much Atk as possible on your DPS Valkyries first. Ensure that the Battlesuit/Weapon Type matches what the Affix line demands otherwise the Atk will not apply.

Remember only Physical Damage can crit, and "crit ratios" do not apply to Honkai Impact 3rd.

hm well in the future i recommend being more reserved. You can see then that despite your progress with it, you're still only reaching so far and things can still be insufficient to clear

affixes can potentially be a bottomless sink and they are more valued late in the game when you're contesting high RL or nirvana

at that point you're more commonly encountering players that are playing with similar ranks, teams, and optimizing the in fight actions similarly. Therefore these tiny differences can become significant

looks like you have lunar vow:crimson love. her weapon is currently available and it gives her access to the astral ring system. so that’s an option. if you mean pulling a new character, xentinel: dawnbearing crescent is the new character this patch and she is normally who you’d go for. other older characters are not super important.

my experience is part 1 characters are not very useful (i’m a new player too for context). you generally can’t use them in story, and for most other things they get leveled for you. so you’re left with maybe using them as a desperation pick in memorial arena as the only time they need levels. so it’s best to save the resources for the characters you use.

part 2 means they have astral ring. like with lunar vow:crimson love, there’s a veeeeeery few pt 1 valks who have a weapon that give them astral ring access, but you have to pull for those weapons and only hers is available right now. so for the next month or so just worry about her weapon.

senadina, valkyrie blastmetal and valkyrie boltstorm are the first 3 part 2 valkyries and i believe everything before them is pt1, and everything after is pt 2. so just checking for the ring symbol is fine
