Hi I want to add some suggestion for guides or QnA channels or anything related for the server.
I have joined some other servers and what I notice is that they apply this "thread only" rule for QnA channels. With this, discussion about a certain topic won't get scattered and minimize the potential of unanswered questions. Also, if the same topic is already discussed and people still ask questions about it, the mod can probably just refer the questioner(if that's a proper English for "people who ask") to that thread. Of course, users can just create a thread on their own but there are bots like needle that can auto create threads.

If you're going to establish spoiler grace periods, players should not be the one held accountable for that (unless they repeatedly do so after being told not to, of course).
Substance for the above claim: Furthermore, "1 day grace period of mandatory spoiler tagging" is vague. Where do players get to know the information for when the grace period begins and ends. Does this apply to part 1, part 2, part 3 of a chapter? I think that explicitly saying that a "ban" is in place if you do this disincentivizes players to post, even moreso when you have no clear, accessible system for players to know when it is okay to post. I think it is implied with all moderation that breaking rules repeatedly will lead to higher punishments. This is not an excuse for not "[c]laiming to not [know] something," it's an excuse about giving players the proper tools to follow established rules.

Also, move #📚honkai-lore out of the Help section if you're going to use it as an alternative talking channel for 24 hours. It's not intuitive for it to be a talking channel

Not sure if this is a big or not, but server went down over an hour ago with no visible notice in-app that it was going to go down ahead of standard server downtime time that I saw at least. I know I wasn't the only person on NA servers who had planned time tonight to finish the last parts of the storyline to get the pulls for event, got through two thirds of part 2 with the intention to finish part 2 and 3 before reset with the game telling me i had 5 hrs left for the event only to log in and hit a server down message.

Seconding this. Id really like a discussion channel for cosplay. Theres no way to have a good discussion in the art wip channel and the cosplay community on here that can help each other, give good feedback, and not "spam" the cosplay channel needs its own space. It's pretty clear some people are just using the new language roles to get the color they like.

At that point wouldn't it be better to just have roles for pure color while designating a separate batch of roles for language and regions without colors?

• I do personally opt to click a user's name to view their roles sometimes when trying to help them. Even in the past when we only had color with server regions, I would get misled from a few that would pick a region that didn't match their game account because they merely wanted the color on the server.
• Some people would adopt multiple roles of a particular category too to access locked channels behind them.

As for making certain roles stand out more without colors, mods already have an icon. Perhaps something similar can be enacted for other notable roles?

Customizing your color is a thing that only small servers cam make work, big servers like this should stick to be color "locked"

Customizing color does work in larger servers, however it cannot be a wide range of colors and you need to make sure to avoid colors that are close in shade to important roles.

Doing something like one color of the rainbow is pretty easy and doesn't take up much role space.

If the icons were strictly letters for SEA/GBL/KR/JPN/CN it would probably be pretty good as a indicator for which server someone is in, and remove the issue of color picking in one go.

For DJ Cabbage Radio, is there any way to force join / leave notifications from not playing in that channel or is that strictly only user side. It's been a long time since I've had to mess with voice settings.

Because it came up in a convo I tried removing and adding roles to myself in #channels&roles and noticed something peculiar whilst doing so — if you click on the buttons in 《Did you Read the Rules?》, which I somehow had not clicked before… and it seems you can lose the Captain role. And furthermore to actually obtain this role it’s enough to only have the 2nd box selected. I don’t even know if it’s safe to fix now (cause it may lead to a bunch of people losing the captain role and then just being confused while they can’t type in chats), or whether it’s somehow only on my side this way (which would be even more peculiar). Split the art-channel in two with one being reserved for AI-only and other for human-made stuff .
It’s true that there has been some conflict in the art channel in the past over this, I witnessed some too. If people get two different rooms, then conflict should be avoided: people who are displeased by AI pictures being posted (or even ’em being created to begin with), won’t have to be exposed to that this way no more; and people who would like to post it, should fear no longer that ’em posting AI-generated stuff would be regarded as a provocation.

I have a suggestion. I first tell what leads me to suggesting what I’m about to suggest it and will drop that suggestion further down below.
It is an increasingly oft occurrence for people to come to #📚honkai-lore to talk about Star Rail. This is no surprise as the worlds are interconnected and to a certain extent rules of the channel also address it and partially allow it. Now sometimes it goes off-rail into too much Star Rail territory too little HI3rd (and to be clear — I’m not trying to say here that it’s somehow bad, or that the rules in place aren’t enforced hard enough, or am not trying to judge it in any other way — I’m simply saying that it’s something which happens). And so it comes to pass until people are asked to move back to HSR or off-topic to talk further about it. I don’t know whether HSR discord allows any HI3rd talk or not and if so how strongly it’s enforced and don’t care enough to find it out, and I do know that off-topic isn’t quite the right place for lore either as long as it has at least some connection to HI3rd, so telling people that has a bitter bytaste. Furthermore it’s merely curing the symptom as there must be a reason why HSR people come to HI3rd chat to begin with: being lead by desire to compare parallels or out of suspicion that it’s related to HI3rd or for whatever reason else. Occasionally also a lost HG2 soul finds his way into the HI3rd territory and with Nexus Anima on the horizon (and I know not how long until the sunrise) there’ll also be people feeling the need to talk about the Kiana from Nexus Anima in HI3rd’s lore channel. Some people are fine with all this, some don’t wanna be spoiled about anything non-HI3rd in HI3rd’s lore chat and others don’t wanna know anything about Star Rail or whatever-else to begin with. The reason it happens is because there’s no place to talk about it. Suggestion: cross-honkai channel.

If that matters in any way: I don’t even play HSR anymore, am not asking out of selfish desire.

This post blew out of proportion so before anything, my perspective/brainstorming is purely my own and I'm not speaking as a "professor" or anything.

i don't think searching is too different. You're typing the same command in either the chat box or the search box.

I can understand how less intuitive it is though which leads to the inconvenience and annoyances. There's also concerns if an faq gets updated (like the recent cof one, but i did used that command out of the blue to attempt to address it)

Do be mindful what kind of trade off you're asking for though. I've been on help channels for other game servers where a helpful bot was available to anyone and I do understand the benefits of this. However, there has been times where people treat the help channel purely as a bot channel when a separate one already existed (usually due to unawareness), or it gets maliciously abused for spam. There can also be vulnerability concerns if the bot has any too.

As far as this server is concerned, I do think there can be moments of extremely high traffic (esp at the start of this patch and with certain events in it) where having further public bot usage would be disruptive. I've also seen an increase in compromised/spam accounts (albeit this is unrelated to the bots here but it's a possibility). Overall I think it makes sense for things to be on the safer side. Some of the FAQs on the bot are very dated and not as relevant now too so it would be concerning if unfamiliar players bring those up.

I will note the bot in #wiki-consult (very different uses) has been fine for public use. So maybe it'll be nice if ai chan bot can be publicly used specifically there for specifically faq commands or something. i'm not a tech guy so idk what that would entail.

yeah that's true that the community is like that, weather due to ignorance or maliciousness, but i do believe you can still use things like slow mode, disable site links and the usual auto bot moderation.

Of course I'm not undermining the clear threats you mentioned, I'm just stating a few counter points since its nice to have different perspectives for things like (ofc IF it even happens).

The main isssue with just spamming colors is that they can clash with roles that have actual meaning (region roles, Profs/mods and so on)

I'm not the one who made these btw. Just sharing them as i encounter them for merely considerations.

i presume these were from the notebook in the story so maybe the creator intentionally left them to preserve a paper cut out feeling

but for emote and stickers, i agree it would be best to remove it/clean it up further. Furthermore if they were emotes you prob would need to crop them even further to account for how shrunken down they would be.

Actually, we should do it for each language, because currently it's only in English, so why not also French, Spanish, Italian, etc....

the thing is, we are doing each faq by hand, they are not an automated response, if there isn't anyone that knows that language we wont be able to translate them to said language, and even if there were (for example Spanish has two people that know Spanish) the amount of work there is to translate every single faq is just unfathomably big as each faq has more than a thousand characters usually

if it were easy and fast every language would have they're own translated faqs
