yea you might get “quest locked” in elderwoods (won’t be able to interact with somethings until you make the main story there) but otherwise go wherever i’d recommend getting your tools to fine quality tho if you plan goin exploring

Open world and really totally optional if you want to play with others or go solo. Also there is no pay to play... the only things that cost money are cosmetic. There is nothing you have to pay real money for to advance in the game--everything you need to play is free.

Whatever you see equipped in the store or wardrobe is a glider skin. The glider is a physical item that can be equipped and will show in a slot on your character screen next to your pet. Sometimes it goes to your inventory or storage and you have to click on it and equip it. If it's in your storage, it will be under the equipment tab.

It is a mystery outfit. There should’ve been a pop up that discloses which outfit you received. If it didn’t pop up for you or you possibly clicked out of it, you’ll have to manually go through your wardrobe to see which outfit is new for you

Is there a certain animal I need to hunt for red eggs? I been hunting all morning and not a single red egg. I got 6 from hunting muujin for the meat. But the drop rate has been harder to get unlike fishing was easier to obtain, along with big catching.

All animals have the same drop rate as far as I can tell, it's just luck based.
I actually had more issues with fishing than hunting, personally

All animals drop them. I recommend hunting 1-shot animals in kilima as you can hunt more per x amount of time which means a higher drop rate

Oh yeah I fully agree. I think it's one of the features the game needs most as it's a big accessibility thing as well (seriously, clicking 100 times to buy a stack of seeds can hurt)

Mining is just Tedious as it has the lowest average and Median experience given . Its only beaten out by Foraging when you skew the numbers (aka subtracting the Median from the Average)

The most EXP you can get is from Large Platinum that gives 70 but those are the most Rare. The only one that is more Common is Silver which still only give 60 for a large. At least with Foraging you can cut trees down really fast given they grow like weeds.

You're likely using the harvest housing line since you barely started the game - with that housing line you can only change the roof color. You'd need to obtain a roofing for it (similar to wallpapers/floors). You can't change the shape or flatten it

With the other housing lines (alchemist/estate/upcoming new one) you can flatten the roof the same way you edit walls

pretty much yea, some premium outfits will have special animations when changing into them, for the most part when you do change outfits through the emote wheel, all your character does is do a spin and then their clothes will change

beyond that, they do have special idle animations when equipped, all you can do to activate them is wait for your character to do said special idle animation

Make sure you have the Fabric Loom - Recipe can be purchased from the Furniture Guild Shop. Once you've reached Furniture Making level 2, talk to Tish and access the Guild Shop for the recipe!

• Leather is made from 1x Sernuk Hide - Recipe unlocked at Furniture Making Level 2 for 100 Gold.
• Fabric is made from 2x Cotton - Recipe unlocked at Furniture Making Level 2 for 50 Gold.
• Silk is made from 5x Silk Thread - Recipe unlocked at Furniture Making Level 6 for 1,500 Gold.
• Muskin is made from 1x Any Mushroom - Recipe unlocked by foraging mushrooms in Elderwood.

so the 10m celebration one is time limited, you have to do your daily check-in to get the coins for that then use the coins to claim in the 10m path, it's a 10 day thing; the other stuff is what's above

basically put, lunar paths are the palia's version of battle passes you may be familiar with other games, the only difference is that these are permanent and do not expire unlike other games. you complete tasks like dailies and weeklies to help level up your passes

Retirement is a way to "store" animals and free up space in you main ranch. You can retire venerated animals for free, and younger ones for a fee. They don't age while in the Retirement area, but you cannot interact with them, harvest from them, or breed them. You can use retired animals as your follow pet, though. Currently you can still only have 30 animals in your main ranch.

I'm not sure what you mean with produces an extra item but it only happens with starred preserves, nothing else, for me at least. Wood/ore/nonstarred preserves/seeds/fabrics/worm bins all produce up to full stacks in all slots afaik, only starred preserves stop producing with 1 item in the last slot

I think it's something unlikely to be added, and if they would, it would likely be a legendary cookie. As otherwise you could just have animals producing non-stop without ever getting venerated and that goes a bit against the system they designed. But it's worth putting in feedback for nonetheless!

There's a kind of work-around to stop animals ageing.
When an animal is ready to age up, it gets the birthday cake icon and stops ageing until you interact with it. It's to make it so that no matter how long you are gone from the ranch, you won't come back to all Venerated animals (unless you had all Elders before).
So, if you never interact with the animals, they never age further. You need to get others to pet and feed them however. So not the perfect option for everyone.
(You can collect items with a different keybind when looking at them, but they will produce slower as they get lower on Happiness and when really low on focus

Just for clarity/in case you didn't know, purchase is never required to get the homeline items. Those will always be available for free by playing the game and earning lunar XP. The option you likely purchased is an alternative, to allow you to get the Lunar XP all up front rather than by playing the game (but is not required).

Does anyone have a video or guide or something to explain the newer housing system? I know that newer rooms and Alchemist items and such don't work with the old buildings, and I can't figure out if I should be ditching the old ones.

The old housing system, the harvest houses, are pretty much abandoned. So what we have right now, is how it will stay. It's still fully functional but no additions will be added and I don't think they will fix any existing bugs.

The new system is designed to allow you to mix and match all pieces with each other, and like you said, doesn't work with the harvest house system. It will continuously be added on with new types of buildings (right now we have the alchemist and estate lines, and we will get a new line with the upcoming patch, which you can see in the trailer). It's basically a little bit like lego - you just craft the base pieces you get from the paths at your workbench and then place them down from your building inventory. Using the paths you can unlock their associated decor items and can also increase the max amount of rooms you can connect to each other (10->12->14 at the moment), and starting next update you can have 3 stories as well. You can also open up walls and remove roofs with the new homelines.

There are some limitations though, for example right now the windows (with the exception of the conservatory window) aren't see through, and the conservatory and fireplace count towards the room total, stuff like that. So switching to the new lines really depends on your aesthetic preferences in this case

So I just have a small question about the premium store. I've been playing Palia for a while but only really getting into the premium store now. Is everything in there there for good unless it says limited time? Even if it's on sale? Or does being on sale mean it's on its way out?

You can either just put them all in the sell bin on your plot. Or you can just right click when in your inventory screen and a menu should appear with an option to destroy them.

Or whatever button is the trigger for that if you're not on PC.

Very few things in the premium store are limited time only. The sales are limited time, but the items are still there when the sale is over. So when they post that the “sales are leaving” it’s just the discount that will be gone, not the item itself.

The exception is a couple of special seasonal things, like the Hollow Grove landscape or the special glowy wol pet (neither of which is available now).

I cannot claim my daily quest reward. It shows it as completed with the claim button available but when I click it, the chappa "please wait" notification appears but then nothing happens. It's always worth troubleshooting the basics to see if that's the issue. Probably the only other player-side workaround to try is completely shutting down Palia and the platform (steam, epic, launcher, whatever it is -- just exit it completely), resync your PC date and time while Palia and platform are closed, and then reload to see if any improvement.
And potentially reverify file integrity.

If no improvement, you'll need a player support ticket.

my friend is able to have wolpunnies in her ranch, and buy them from the shop menu. she's lvl 3 ranching, i am lvl 4. I can't see them as a buyable animal at all in the ranching shop, and looking at the wiki didn't tell me much aside how it's a premium pet (which is understandable since its a wiki and updates take a while to add to it, ofc).

you don't input the fish anywhere; when you obtain a fish that counts for the daily, it will check off the daily and then you can claim the daily through the feature guide or bulletin board.

make sure your fish is newly obtained. that can include fish from requests, or star quality fish that you already owned, placed on your plot and then picked up after getting the daily. also elderwood fish don't usually count for dailies so make sure it's a kilima or bahari fish

You can buy crops from the Daiya Farm in Kilima Village. However, I would probably suggest cooking or buying meals as you progress with ranching and get the different types of animals because it’ll take a lot of crops to feed them if you do it that way.

So is the error happening when you select the trees themselves then? I can’t see what it looks like obviously but ideally you should be able to pick up the tree from their trunk. If you aren’t already, I would suggest trying from the regular furniture mode rather than the H menu

Hey folks, a friend of mine has an issue with the lost and found quest, she got the book, but apparently the book just disappeared from the ground and she doesn't have it anywhere, we checked her inventory, storage etc and it's just gone. Auni doesn't say anything for the quest, just the usual dialogs, and it's the only quest she has left

To get tree seeds from wild trees, you have to chop down medium and large trees. For this quest, don't chop down Ancient Trees, their seeds likely won't count.

@timber cedar I am a hoarder, too. If you have a spare plot, you can use it to store a lot of stuff... starred fish, bugs, and food, flowers and trees, etc. If you're hoarding materials for crafting, then you can craft stuff if you know what you want to craft, since decor does not take up storage space. As for your gold cap, you can use gold to buy things like terraces and rocks (the yardwork stuff in kenli's upstairs register) because decor does not take up storage space.

I also leave my fertilizer in my worm farms until I can't make more worms. And I then stack fertilizer on my plots as much as I can instead of storing it.

It's just a matter of different priorities. I just built my first palium chest recently. But I don't do cooking parties, so I don't keep more than 40-50 of any cooking ingredient. Wood and stone are trivial to come by, so I try not to keep more than 200 or each.

Is it possible I somehow used it inadvertly without ever crafting anything? I'm on the "Hexomancy 101" quest and I can't figure out what happened to it.

Haven't been on Palia in a long time and I must have just finished "Like a Shiprunt" when I last logged because it was in my main bar which I saw about a week ago. Haven't gifted villagers anything, completed some quests but I'd assume I would have had to brought it to use it and don't remember grabbing it (but still possible I could have if there is such a quest). I'm just dumbfounded how I just had it and now it's gone. 😕

You can always contact support for help. Runestones are only used in crafting relics so they wouldn't have been used by anything else. They'll want to see proof of the quests, the shrines being done, and the tamala store being purchased out.

Were you just placing it normally? Or doing a glitch of some sort? It might be under your house... If you remove any flooring you've added to the floor (in other words, go back to the default floor pattern), you can "see" under your floor. If it's under there, then in build mode it will highlight yellow-green through the floor if you are aiming at it (so just look around while in build mode) and you will be able to pick it up.

Just to clarify, is there a finite number of Runes you can ever have (like you can buy two from the potions store, one from the shrine, and one from the mission) or is it you can only have 2 in your posession at a time from the store? I haven't bought anything yet but I don't see how scratching off the availability of whats in the store has anything to do with the mission reward disappearing

Yes there is a finite number. Support will want proof that you've exhausted all sources of enchanting runestones to be able to assist you with any that are missing.

i was doing the quest "the true treasure" but when i solved the final puzzle and found the treasure, naio and auni weren't there to be talked to, so i went outside the cave but they weren't there either. went to the central stables, went home, checked kilima, still nothing. went back into the cave and then into the final room but when i loaded in, it automatically triggered the conversation, but they said nothing (see screenshot) and i couldnt exit the conversation. i had to quit the game through task manager, and when i loaded back in auni and naio werent in the room anymore and the objective to return to them is not completed. how do i turn in this quest????

I have two bugs to report.

1. Palia's support site itself has a bug. I changed my password, and now I can't log in. Both the website and the game are rejecting both the new password I created and the old one.

2. I can't seem to cook my Steak Dinner. Every time I try to cook them, the game glitches when I need to flip the pan. Even when I land 100% within the circle, the game doesn't count it as a hit.

Please take a look. I don't know what to do

For the flipping action, you need to press and hold your primary action button, then release it so that the moving dot overlaps the stationary one. There are at least 2 different speeds.

I'm a new(tm) player to Palia, as in I played for a month or so after the game first released then stopped due to running out of things to do, and returned about a week and a half ago. I've reached exquisite tools on (most) of my equipment, am progressing nicely on the mainline story quests and I'm starting to seriously consider what to do for housing. I read a glorious post by a glorious someone who said that the alchemist/estate housing is the way to go for future house parts as the old harvest house line isn't going to be updated or fixed.

Is there anything else I need to know about building on my plot that's important to understand before I dive in? I've discovered building parts, the decor limit, estate/alchemist parts are compatible with each other, and am aware of a few glitches "techniques" for building. coughredpresentcough

For the recipe you are doing, you need to go to the oven, and bake the bread, after you rolled the dough out. You see how it is red and says 0/1 for the baugette icon.

you also need to go to the mixing table and make the butter spread, after you chopped the spice sprouts. You see how the butter icon is red and says 0/1.

You missed these steps in the recipe, which is why you did not get the second flip action to be available.

You'll have to wait, the option to download the update will come later, for me on PC, Steam normally is able to download the update a hour into estimated downtime, However thats for the normal updates which only last 2 to 3 hours, since this one is going to be 24 hours its anyones guess when it'll be available for download

Hey! I understand the basic rules of the Hotpot game now, but I’m still confused about one thing. A few times I thought I had a winning hand, for example 3x meat, 3x carbs, and 3x fish, but the game didn’t recognize it as a win and I had to discard my card instead.
Does it have to be 3 of the exact same food item, or is having 3 cards from the same category enough? What exactly counts as a valid winning combination?

You need AAA, BBB, CCC or ABC card sets. Any combo works, but the card set must be all 3 the same, or all 3 items from 1 set/color.
