Honestly I wish we could put down "foundation blocks" and on that add pillars of different types and add walls between em ...
That way you have a modular flow ... if you want an arch or an open door add the door on that location ... want a window ... add it on the location ...
Want upper floors ... add more pillars for support ... And mainly ... I hate LOW ceilings ... The old houses had a decent ceiling height but these new ones feel litterally cramped ...

love cathedral ceilings tho, we had one in our home years ago and there was a loft “next room over” so it was basically one big room

ceiling height is barely any different
to be exact, this is the difference in height:

The studs used on my house were 5/8” longer than 9’. So if the ceiling drywall is 1/2”, then its is only 1/8” taller than 9’ but you still need to account for what flooring is placed on top of the subfloor. Say we use 3/8” engineered wood flooring, this would leave us with a ceiling height 1/4” less than 9’. YMMV

Even if you have bugs in the old housing system you can always write a new part and replace the old part eventually ... it doesn't do anything if it auto re registers ... write new remove old code if you can replace the house with the new style... it's just a lazy dev excuse to just ignore the old to create new content and then eventually go around the main problem ...

The main issue I have is not with the entire griding but with the repetetive part of the game ... While I understand farming for some of the things is okay and absolutely justified ... I think this game requires you to farm a 100 more things ... What makes things worse is the unique parts or your unique obtained items do not double if you make a new plot ... I think about the Kitsuu statue or the Flow Tree item ... all rewards you got from filling up the bundles or the Gardener quests and so on ... I have a decently build up plot but I need to make a new one for the new stuff and I don't like the entire new stuff but my plot is getting crowded slowly ... so in other words I feel this update is just a way to make people farm more again so they get players back rather than lose em...

I stopped playing for a while due no new content ... I like to build a new house but not using the same vibe but the new houses are far from appealing to me ... in other words it feels like bait ... at the rate of that building style I'll quit when I gotten everything done from quests again ...

I also feel like I can't get entirely what I want with some of the blocks in the game ... I feel like I would love to wall perfectly and make a good gate into it but aligning things doesn't work ... Hence the idea of alignment and systems with houses and such sounds appealing to me ... Hell Minecraft is more fun in the general line to build stuff although the furniture isn't in there ...
