should be correct yeah. as long as u didnt detach. most players had the "ghost" plots because they detached 2 rooms, one was ghosted the other one stayed on the graveyard so the ghosted ones didnt loose their configured wall

You can submit a ticket. This happens if you leave while it’s building. It can also happen when you pick it up after it’s built to put back into your inventory. The add-ons separate from the house and go into your inventory separately as decor, but some people have lost some or all of the pieces when doing that.

I find they are really resistant sometimes. I often have to rotate them a bunch to get it to work, another trick is placing a wall, and attaching the floor to the bottom of the wall, and multiselecting the wall to the edge of your plot

On the french "balcony"? I just removed the door, lined the box up on the middle, put the door back, and they didn't vanish ^^ Also have them above the doorways to make the doors a bit more interesting. Like those big window boxes back in the 90s (or so)

Only during the 45 seconds it’s building. If you want to move your cottage from one plot to another, pick up all the addons separately first before you pick up the house. But you can switch plots yourself once it’s built, no problems there.

If you move around while in h mode you will eventually be able to see the bay window to remove it. You have to move way to the right so you get a more angled view of your house so you can grab the bay window.

The devs do read feedback and you can submit your own thoughts to them.
Also the person you were talking to before is the one who found/ was the first to talk about some of the bugs here, which let us know of and avoid them

The frustration for me is in their latest video releasing this patch they literally said this is for the builders and we want you to be creative so we are making it less restrictive…….. to then make it more restrictive.

And to make all the new stuff incompatible with the old stuff which to me is just lazy and a lack of care for our time and work on our plots. Like i played fallout 76 and every time they updated building or added new mechanics to camp building they always integrated it so everything worked together and players could mix and match. So it feels like they just didnt want the extra work to make them work together or just rushed it out early. Real shame.

Yeah i agree its really grindy, its supposed to be a cozy game not a second job. Ranching is the same they have purposefully made it so you have to wait. I just find it baffling they talk about choice and creativity and players enjoying how they want too yet everything is so restricted. With ranching for example why not make it a choice for the player ? You want the slow burn or do you want it to be a little faster and more active role ?

Yeah it was intentional thats my point, they could have made it so everything works together and the plots we have made could be revamped and mix and match. Using our creativity but instead they choose the easy route and choose not to make them compatible .

K, so u just need to cancel place the table out of the way and scoot the log into place. So grab the table, move over somewhere out of the way and while holding it hit ur number key with a decor item in it to temp. lock ur table there. Go back to ur log and nudge it further in. Switch plots and come back and ur good

I don’t think the curtains give you the inspiration for other recipes, because you just get them at a certain crafting level (so you don’t get the curtains from inspiration and they don’t give you inspiration either). You will eventually get the fountain from the bellflower furniture recipes from Tish, though.

There are seemingly lots of variations. It sounds like the safest thing to do is:

1. stay on the plot while the building completes
2. manually remove all of the decor items (windows, columns, ivy, awnings, etc) into your inventory
3. Proceed as you normally would from there!

Yes the items are supposed to appear attached/placed on the cottage when it completes its build cycle, but sometimes they aren’t there if you leave the plot while it’s building, and sometimes they disappear into the void if you put the building into storage while it is still newly built and decorated with its default items (or apparently if you remove walls with items in them).

Cottages A and B are both base rooms WITH addons. So if you want the trim/window/ivy etc you have to buy those. BUT if you leave your plot while they are building, the addons can disappear and you are left with just a base room (this is a bug—it’s not supposed to work this way.). Once it’s built you can remove the addons and switch them around how you like. If you pick up the house into your inventory the addons get put into inventory separately, so when you replace the house it will just be a base room. The addons should be in your inventory, though. (But once again there is another bug where sometimes they still disappear, so it’s recommended to remove all the addons yourself before you pick up the house.)

I just sit and look at the choices they made and its great if they listen and change but like … why those choices in the first place, did they really think people would be excited and ecstatic that they brought a new house line for us that is stand alone and the additional items are locked into the houses so if you want more ivy or posts you have to buy a whole house for these extras ? 😂 like i just cant imagine what the person looks like who came up with that idea… maybe they need to let them out the cupboard for oxygen and sunlight before they take a suggestion off them again 😂

Thank you il check that out, i had few suggestions i never saw yet . Going off their video “giving us more choice” maybe the ranching should have had an option for slow burn and for players who want to be more active in the barn. Cooldowns working different, maybe tasks in the barn that arent detrimental if not done but if a player chooses to take them on can gain additional exp. I really cant grasp a game that wants the player to get bored and fed up with slow progression. It baffles me.

I made a full wooden floor under the map , it expands from the plot to the edges of the actual space. Prior to the update i was able to build everywhere and upto the exit fences to Kilima. Now its not allowing me to build anything ontop of the builders floors.

Youre welcome, sometimes the collission zone for items work differently when placed as to placing if that make sense

So you can build round the stairs one they are down but putting in stairs into the same sized space will set off collision detection. Glad it helped

It kept saying something was in the way as one unit, but separated (and yet identical) I was able to place it. So weird.

Try towers of aghasba , its not massive multiplayer its just 4 online players but its a cozy game where you regrow the planets ecosystems and bring life back aswell as build. Up villages and towns or cities. However it has no build limit and you can build anywhere you want in the world , you also regrow the ecosystems by replanting the trees plants and so on and feeding and helping the wildlife that return to the ecosystem. Theres a few things that can improve but its new and well theres no bugs i have seen yet and the building is fun with a fee teething issues

If I had to guess logic, maybe they did some linear coding vs. adaptive/scalable Object Oriented Programming, if Java is even involved... You can still inadvertently treat OOP as linear if you're not careful.

Let's say a class is a box you can put whatever in it.

A class for dishware for example, holds plates and stuff. If the plate still works according to Lila but no longer a bowl, it's probably not under dishware as a class with it's own rules of logic saying "what is in this box, has these rules." Class items would share traits.

But IF I remember... because it's been years....and my brain currently is not as sharp... two classes can hold specific items as shared class traits. You can contradict rules sharing between... eliminating the scalability because if they share the same box (lets say small decor and dishware) means the bowl may have been more dominated by one class logic vs another. That's a flaw in OOP because computers do as we tell them exactly to, even if it's not intended.

To this then I would like to suggest something that I believe is severely important right now for the game as a whole.

I would like to suggest the S6 team to focus on the health of the game.

This would imply releasing updates solely focused on bug fixes.
No new features no new cosmetics, no new nothing. Literally nothing!

It would be incredibly beneficial to dedicate an entire year to fix everything that's broken in the game. Health updates every 3 months for an entire year in order to give time to address everything that's not working as intended.

This not only benefit the company but would also benefit the entirety of the player base that has grown increasingly unhappy with all the issues that have been piling up in the game.

My issue and reason i wanted to leave is as mentioned above, the store does not have a descriptor for the plot skins. I was a new player when i purchased it not long ago … maybe a veteran would have known the plot is the same space however for me i thought the images was all buildable space.

To be able to utilise your whole plot for building (within sensible respects, not 2000 meters in the sky , but from the back door to the front gate ) would be a great quality of life, not only more space to build on but also it creates continuity with the land scape rather than a forest or garden or house with fences in a rectangle zone and then flat grass open space round the plot. It kills the role play and aesthetic.

2. Co-joinining system for different architectures to be united. I'm assuming the HomeLine series is a new coding mechanism that dips into newer API. Letting windows cross-translate between series, maybe even opened as a setting.

3. Ability to access/craft series to it's entirety. Zeki sells rugs in the store... even makeshift. The chic series does not have an overhand cabinet vs. bellflower(?)

4. Landscaping enhancements so it's not just just a rigid rectangle but feels more immersive.

For example while Fallout76 is cross platform between Gen9 and PC, it doesn't support switch which is a lower bound device comparitively, ie performance is less of an issue to account for.

I was thinking about the discussion yesterday on how the housing system could be improved, and more connection points would really help for buildings and doorways, right now the stairs dont fit well with where the doorway sits in the alchemist house they over lap. No, this is our first attempt at windows as decor instead of buildings. Beyond performance, complexity with windows and transparency comes from making bespoke cutouts in the walls. With the Harvest buildings, we have a static location where these cutouts exist but that limits the content and variety we can produce for it.

With Alchemist cottages we moved those windows from buildings to decor and we hear the community loud and clear on their desire to have transparency with those assets. It's something we're taking to heart and discussing.

A suggestion I put in was tweaking the reward system a touch so multiple paths could achieve the goal, helping reduce exploitation of the reward experience and items.

Next question, it's been claimed on numerous occasions that this is an "evolution" of the housing system. Yet not only are these rooms a smaller over all area than the old rooms. The maximum we are able to attach to one another has been drastically reduced.
Old Harvest House was an 11 by 11 the new house is a 9 by 9
Old Harvest House had a maximum of 15 rooms the new system has a maximum of 10

Any comments you are able to make on that subject?

Unfortunately, the tech from the Harvest home had severe limitations for us to be able to deliver the gameplay the community desires.

While the Alchemist home line presents the first content utilizing the new tech, it's just a first step showcasing what we can do with it. As we continue to develop these systems, we aim to increase their capabilities and unlock more variety for players. Unfortunately this takes a lot of thoughtful consideration and development to achieve.

Yeah unfortunately this issue didn't present internally during test efforts but it's hard to mimic the exact stress/load we see in our Live environment. Sometimes things happen in Live that simply don't happen internally and then we need to figure out why.

I love communities that do this, fallont has gamers that find such creative ways around some barriers, albeit they have alot less barriers on the building in that game now.

However its such a shame that any game needs this and that games can be out for years and because players find work arounds the which they shouldn’t have to the design teams dont implement stable changes as “well they are doing it anyway” kinda feel

Is it just me or does the movement of items feel more rigid now aswell, although you only had the basic four directions of movement stuff moved smoothly when the grid was removed however some new items even with the grid turned off seem to dart in movement asif still on a locked grid

It never had the warning, i think it was the ermm pillars from the external alchemy wall corners. When moving on flat ground they move quite rigid, not as rigid as on the grid but not as smootb as other items.

Im just frustrated because i love building games, and multiplayer and everytime try to get into one theres stupid issues that dont grt addressed. Only game i found with good building mechs and no limits is towers of aghasba however its kot mass multiplayer as they only just launched and it remains at 4 person multiplayer and probably wont go bigger id assume.

Which & here's what might shock you - I've been here since the start of the beta - back in 2023

So like... we aren't going to talk about how many hours I have invested in this game, but there's a reason I am so critical of it. Because I want it to do well. I've enjoyed playing it, or I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't volunteer my personal time to answering people's questions on how they can learn the hidden tricks of the game so those players can enjoy the game better & thus sick around longer.

I wouldnt say a lot of long time players.. more often its new-ish players. not completely fresh players but still not over the "honeymoon phase"..
most long time players know the issues very well and speak about em when there is a reason to. I also feel like lots of em' stopped screaming into that void and stopped playing. [but that could be a "bubble" thing, I am not looking into general chat for example]

They have a great game, its going in some good ways but it still feels the players are ignored. They have a nee player base joined lately (hi i was part of the ps group) and its added newer players who also want more . They just need to listen and not let the trolls who want this game to stay in the past ruin its growth.

I think the issue literally only happens if you leave your plot during build, its 40 seconds for them to build.

After that remove the pieces from them and boom there is no reported issues past that, that I’m aware hope this helps .

One time some IT folks at my job asked me to test a portal to see if it was solid or not.

Totally ticked off the one programmer because I found ~78 concerns, and categorized them from light to "this will break your program or get you hacked," severity wise.

Needless to say, he was much happier when my manager and his manager spoke to him (he vented to them) and he was being empowered because I trusted him he built the program as intended for End Users.

I went in to break the program because End Users do not use the programs as intended. x'D
