Single player you can’t play the game more then 20 minutes without crashing. Aberration escalates that process on crashing within seconds if you go between green and blue zone. The free to play maps like rag Fjor stuff like that crash within 20 minutes or less. Gen 1 crashes instantly during teleport bioms, Gen 2 crashes exactly at the boss cave 100% of the time. ASA is definitely bad don’t get me wrong (with and without mods) but it’s still atleast slightly more playable than ASE.

Over 1K hours on both games. Got both games 100% on PlayStation lol. And this is the stuff I deal with on the daily. Welcome to playstation ark.

With the current issues Ark is experiencing we can all but guarantee a huge delay to both the launch of UE5.5 update and any additional maps/creatures. I know we all expect delays from WC these days but this is just gonna snowball from this point. A majority of official is barely playable, when it is its massively unreliable, glitches and bugs plague the game. Just feels like a mess at this point and as much as I love the game am all but at the point of moving on. When gaming becomes more stressful than enjoyable then for me at least its not worth the effort. We all moaned how poorly optimised ASE was but other than the graphics it currently runs far smoother than this even down to the little things like the UI, controls, inventory management and more. I get that the Ddos stuff is just a headache even for WC themselves but the game itself just goes to show how the lack of know-how when it comes to UE5 has made this "upgrade" harder than it should be

I reinstalled ASE and have been playing that mainly over ASA for about a week so far and haven't crashed more than twice in that week. ASA as a remaster should have been a smoother better experience but other than thee graphics its the same game, same bugs, same lag. Why on a UE5 remaster are we having to use commands to get the game to be in focus? The map not to be blurry? Smooth textures? Update or not that shouldn't exist in a UE5 remaster. Yes the game looks in general better than ASE but that's all so far

Then you don’t know PlayStation I take it. It’s I would say the worst platform by far to play ark on. Over 1K hours here both games 100% ASE preformed worst on PS5. But even so ASA despite being a little better stability wise definitely needs a lot of work for single player improvement and stability. You can scroll waaaaaaay up. Iv posted a few bugs that still yet to be fixed in ASA. One been there since launch which is game breaking. But at least ASA is playablez ASE you cannot play on PlayStation at all. Load into a map. Crash, switch maps crash. Aberration green to blue zone? Crash within seconds. Gen 1 crash immediately during teleporting biome, Gen 2 crash at the boss cave. Free to play maps like fjor. Crash going across the oceans. No save game feature so you have to rely on admin code to save the game. Need I need to go on?

Ita a steam thing. It should not need that much. To me if you are updating evwry two days and there is no update in #status-updates or #patch-notes your install could be the issue. Maybe a download reinstall is needed. Generally steam says its a big download and really isnt becauae it patches the file and then deletes the update if i remember right

Easy just means slightly easier. South Zone 1 and 2, and west zones 1,2, and 3 are the safest typically, but creatures can still wander to them.

incredibly subjective, ask a dozen people and get a dozen different answers. except all of them are worthless because the only thing that matters is what framerate you want

if you are stuck at low or unsteady framerates, using triple buffered vsync or VRR/freesync if available will make them feel a lot smoother overall, even if the number goes down

Are you using the frame-gen function? I've gotten DXGI errors more often when playing with that on, even if it isn't the cause for all DXGI errors. Maybe try turning it off via console and see if playing for awhile changes anything in regards to rate of crashing.

Bugs are hardly taken care of any more. The bug forum is broken - nothing happens there anymore. Only bugs that WC employees experience themselves are fixed. The quality is simply lousy now. I'm also on the verge of quitting. So far I've bought everything that was available - that stopped with Astraeos (a map that isn't even close to being finished; plus the skins aren't in the core - which WC can do - why don't they use exactly the same system as BobTales?). Now I only spend money on the game when bugs are fixed. I have one right now that affects us Breeder extremely - many with mods might not notice it (they fix the problem with other techniques). But without mods in that direction, it's just not fun to breed anymore - and I spend 90% of my ARK time breeding... Other companies also have nice games....

The thing that tickles my pickle in the wildest sense is when a dlc that is as beautiful as Astraeos gets released only to find out that it has more issues than a clingy ex that never gets the hint till a restraining order is slammed in their face an the only issue around a game crash when trying to load into a Astraeos community owned server is to log into a official Astraeos server first then and only then can you log into the community owned one.

So far they have worked like the Maewings. But with NE the food was also given to the babies more effectively. On ASE/Gen2 I raised several Gigas with 2-3 Maewings. They need less meat from the Maewings than from their own inventory. But for that you have to have a high level of NE skills. Now that is no longer possible. You have to skill food for RANGE... does that also mean you are also skilling the effectiveness of the food? If NOT, then the Maeguanas are for the garbage can... I am only minimally interested in the trough range of the Maeguanas.

You have 99% of outside sun and you want it to work in a cave 😅 well i noticed when place and replacing greenhouse stuff , you sometimes trigger the effect even inside a closed build. But since the cave is probably a very restricted area to build, replacing props on a cart inside a cave is gonna give you brain aneurysms.

Unless its a rathole/meshhole where the sun can enter the cave, i wouldnt care to build around that idea.

If you breed a giga with a base stat of 55 in hp and mate it with a giga with mele base 55 there is a chance it will come out with both 55 in both hp and Mele but there's a chance it comes out with just one or the other as well

Just a chnace game the baby has a chance of getting all the higher of the parents stats but at the same time has a chance at getting the lower stats of the 2

There is also the chance it gets a mutation in ether hp or mele witch add 2 levels so instead of the 55 base stat it would be 57

It started after a recent update. I play single player. Malwarebytes is blocking the website due to Battleeye attempting to access a port. This is the first time I have ever had this happen but it is persistent now and I can't play the game.

you should not level melee past 700... it likely will not get you any more to keep leveling it. especially if imprinted, and using max pick.

There was a soft cap introduced in ASE to help with server performance. Its 5x resource health. if you go beyond a certain amount of melee (varies per dino) you wont get any more than you would have. anky is roughly 500-600 mantis is pretty close to same.

However. harvesting meat is not capped.. its resource harvesting not corpse harvesting.

you would need vastly more than 500-600 to 5x overkill a metal or obsidian rock with an anky, that sounds mythological

only applies on unclamped servers as well, the normal cap is the health of the node, with melee having zero effect

im working off of ASE patch from years ago and data gathering in ASA seems to be consistent. if melee didnt affect harvesting then we would only need larger amounts harvested per node during boosted events on official and thats not true

Like I plan on migrating my dinosaurs over to the Xbox. By using a couple of mods to spawn them in so I can reset my entire playstation data by deleting the game and its save data. And that still pains me lol

Iv always stood by this statement. If they took the resources they used to keep servers running (in this case PVP servers in this context) and took that out and put said resources in the general PVE. Servers / single player bugs (some been here since LAUNCH btw) you would get a lot more people onto the game
