I just switched my cluster over to PvP and now there are three tek engrams that I havent unlocked. If individuals are on my GPortal server and that is set to autoupdate, and the update comes through will it show in the update menu as pending? Any unofficial servers will probably need to manually update as most are on an update interval of 30-60mins on the hours. Last check for most was probably 27 mins ago.

From my understanding the structure lag is caused by needing to load a large variety of "structurally stable" points. So for example if you just placed a gate on the mesh it wouldn't take that much to load, but if you place the gate on existing structures with a lot of "snap points" then it needs to load all of that first and then the gate. So to answer your question in a way the gates would cause less lag in and of themselves than a whole structure would, because there are less snap points to load.

Here, I just copied it ... We're currently investigating an issue with Valve/Steam where the Proton version of the game is unavailable by default for Linux players. We hope to have this resolved as soon as possible, you can still opt-into the native version of the Linux game by switching your ARK to use the beta branch: "linuxnative".
In order to make that switch, here's what you need to do:

  1. From your Steam games library, right-click on ARK: Survival Evolved and choose Properties.
  2. From this new window you’ll click on BETAS at the top.
  3. Here is where you’ll swap between the Linux native version and the live version of the game.
  4. Choose the beta called linuxnative from the drop down list and then close the Properties window once the window says it has successfully accessed the beta.
  5. Your Steam client will begin to download the Linux native version of the game.

Hopefully this is alright, but, having trouble with our Game INI.
NPCReplacements = (FromClassName = "Ichthyornis_Character_BP_C", ToClassName = "")
We're trying to remove Ichthyornis from spawning. They spawn way too often and inland as well on Fjordur. This is under [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode] in the Game INI, but it doesn't work.

Quite a few other things don't work in the Game INI but I don't want to absolutely fill this channel. What am I doing wrong here?

In GameUserSettings, there is also a [/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/TestGameMode.TestGameMode_C] section which I noticed had some stuff from the Game INI, so I copied all of the Game INI contents there. More stuff works now than previously...

I know that the last patch corrected some overspawn issues on Fjordur. But did WC also patch the glow pets off the caverns of time? I got several reports that the area is completely empty now, no more glow pet spawn there 😦

That's no solution. So you just get all dino spawns off balance until the last pet is tamed anyway.
If they removed the pets by accident, WC should re-add them. If they removed them on purpose, I would be very interested why. Because they have been part of this cave concept as long as the cave exists. And unless other spawn issues at the start of the map (which are mostly corrected), these dinos can't be abused at all.

Is anyone aware of any settings that might affect Desmodus taming effectiveness? Looking at youtube vids it seems like feeding them tamed dinos should increase their effectiveness very quickly, however on our server it only goes up 0.1 or 0.2% each time it picks up one of the tames.

Never heard of feeding them tames but players on my servers used blood packs on 5x taming and it took them less than 5 mins to tame one

Don't think there's any setting that will help with it, but not sure. It's a hefty process waiting for the effectiveness to increase. I recommend trapping them, and people on my servers use high health moschops to let them feed on.

I would be very interested if someone found out why they are missing on some servers. I am not aware of any mod on my server that would prevent these spawns. The only mod that affects dinos is "Shiny!" - which only applies buffs to dinos which would have spawned anyways.

So, quick question, I have been trying to host a server over on my Xbox, while playing on PC. I can join just fine, no errors. But, if I shut down the server, restart it to edit a setting, or just to shut it down for the night, and restart it in the morning, after I restart it, it just says join failed for anybody that was on it before the restart, except for me. I have port fowarded, I am on NAT type open, but the only weird thing has been that it won't show up on the actual server list for player dedicated arks for me or my friend group, which is where it should be.

I've asked this before and never received a response. Does anyone know of a mod that adds remote switches for controlling things like the electric generator? I use S+ and a few other mods and none of them have a remote switch for such a thing. Vanilla has the remote Keypad, but that can not control the generator. I'm on a single player world and I've tried lowering the MatingIntervalMultiplier to multiple different numbers (anywhere from 0.1 to 0.00001) and no matter what I change it to, it always resets itself. Is there any way to fix that?

Does anyone know what causes the tribe name to/not to be listed under a dinosaur? I have some dinosaurs on my servers that do not display the tribe that owns them, this appears to bleed over into tribe logs so it won't show what tribe is destroying/killing things in the tribe log. The tribe name appears on SOME dinosaurs, but some it does not.

I have used this format to hide a few engrams:

I have removed a very lot of engrams 536 to be exact. Now the game runs fine and the engrams i want unlocked all unlock fine but when i go on the engram list my FPS drops to about 8fps. Any ideas why and how to fix this?

Thanks Country! Hrrrm - I've killed an Alpha Rex, all the Leeds and a Mosa, and they have not respawned. I killed a crapload of sharks, and their numbers definitely seem to be diminishing. I run my own cluster on a personally owned server. Any other independent server owners experiencing this?

I've seen the alpha raptors the most I think, but so far I've only seen one alpha moss. Could just be because I've only gone into the ocean a couple of times though. It's just a single personal server.

They did make a patch reducing the number of alphas, so that might be it

The s+ transmitter has a scanner, so I've used it, but it could just be that some alphas have a smaller spawn chance, plus like Raq said, they did reduce the alphas

Well, the big Alphas are gone (I killed them, lol), so I guess I'll just keep killing and see what happens. I still have plenty of sharks and raptors, and a few Carnos. The three mosas are still there because they are all in the Abysal Trench and I needed a stronger basilo to get in there, lol. I have one now. So, we'll see what happens?

Considering how many patches you guys are rolling out im starting to beleive an update corrupted my server files

Because the issue began immediately after I did the last update before this latest one. People in a facebook group im in are complaining these updates have been ridden with bugs. Multiple patches being release in a few days seems to suggest this is true.

I guess I’ll say it here, since it’s technically on an unofficial/modded server. So before today, when transferring servers on a cluster, I had no issues. But as of midday/the evening today, suddenly I keep getting a buffer overflow after spawning in after transferring servers. Doesn’t matter which map, or how few items or tames I have in my inventory. It doesn’t delete my character, simply boots me and forces me to load back in for another 5 minutes. Was wondering if anyone knows what the cause is or how to fix it? Currently trying to validate my files in hopes that does something.
