Hey guys, thank you for bearing with us as we monitored the situation impacting various regions/data centers.
As a resolution may take time, we're going to fully offline all affected servers in order to preserve player's progress whilst our partners continue to work hard to address the issue as soon as possible. This means your babies wont starve etc

Console players, if you are experiencing timeouts when mounting a Maeguana and jumping/gliding etc, please make sure that your Unofficial Server is updated to v61.38. This issue only impacts users who are playing on servers that have not patched.

Quick Update on the black screen error when attempting to join Astraeos servers on Consoles
<@&735187109551407125> - We've identified an issue where a black screen could occur when attempting to join Astraeos and currently have a fix going through PlayStation certification. The case identified is where the map is owned (purchased) but not installed, and currently this behavior results in a black screen when attempting to join, after the fix it will provide users with an error message asking them to install the map.
<@&735187083957633025> - We're working with Microsoft on a black screen error when attempting to join Astraeos that successfully reproduces in the live game, but not in the development backend. <@&735187083957633025> - Microsoft have rolled out a fix, however from our internal testing we're still experiencing issues with certain devices, whereas others are able to boot into the game. We've relayed this information to their engineering team and are waiting for them to get back to us on next steps. However it's worth giving a try as some of you may be able to launch your applications.
<@&992520031411896422> - We're still experiencing heavy DDoS attacks across the entire network and this may cause connection issues to servers. Our partners are aware and are working on mitigating this attack as quickly as they can. This situation might evolve over time so we'll keep you posted with further updates as we have them.

and then attempting to launch the app. If you still receive the "unable to get the update" error, I'd recommend waiting another 15 minutes and then trying again.
We're still in communication with Microsoft regarding the issue, but hopefully this has now resolved the issue -- we'll be continuing to monitor and will escalate to them as necessary.
Update on the situation regarding server uptime.
We're still experiencing heavy DDoS attacks, and we've just been hit with a large one which is why there were sudden intermittent connection issues on some of our servers right now. Our hosts are aware of the ongoing attacks and are doing everything they can to mitigate them, including working with other external specialists.
We have to be delicate about how much information we share, as too much can make us vulnerable to more attacks, or even just provoke the attacker to go further. It's possible that this message alone could cause us to receive a heavier attack.
We're not dealing with "script kiddies" (or script kitties as I call them) here, these are the largest attacks in ARK's history, and frankly some of the data would be newsworthy. The people doing this are professionals, and it wouldn't be surprising if this isn't even the hardest they could hit us. The teams working on this are doing everything they can to mitigate the attacks and keep the servers online.
We know it's frustrating to deal with this, especially during events, and we're hoping to resolve this as quickly as we can.

Quick update
We identified a critical issue with the .7 clients and server that we were intending to deploy. We're currently testing a previous version of the server and client that shouldn't have this issue. Once the test clears, in approximately 30 minutes, we will set that new client live, so you'll have a small update to grab, and then we'll be able to deploy the servers.

Whew! That was a chonky patch huh 
So, we had to revert the final server build due to a critical issue. This just affects some of the Turbine balance changes along with the Animated Cosmetic pack folder not being visible in non-English languages. We'll be fixing the turbine issue on the server later today (might have some visual oddities until we do the next client update) and we expect to patch the localisation issue on Steam later today and on Consoles tomorrow.

A patch that went out today included a fix for Cryo Fridges not updating their power state until opened. This should have been communicated in advance so it could have been prepared for and it was an error on our part that we hadn’t. Unfortunately, the outcome is that some cryopods have expired in cryofridges after their states were correctly updated with the recent patch.
Our team took temporary measures to disable transfers while we reviewed the data to determine whether a rollback would be a viable option.
One key aspect that affects the decision of whether to rollback or not relates to transfers, and, given the timing with Astraeos, transfers were at an all time high. After reviewing our data to assess how much would be lost in uploads (in short: a lot), we made the difficult call not to rollback the saves as it would result in greater loss for a larger group of players. This preserves players’ uploaded items, creatures, and in many cases, their characters.
Honestly, this is a very difficult decision, rollbacks are never straightforward and they always come with some risk, however in this case the risk is guaranteed (due to the immense volume of transfers) and would cause more loss.
This wasn’t how we wanted the fix to land, and we really feel for anyone who lost dinos because of it so we’re going to make some imminent changes to our evolution event and easter rate plans to help compensate for the loss.
To support affected players, we’ll be running 3x rates this weekend including breeding, and also plan to continue 3x rates including breeding every weekend (Friday 1 PM PST to Monday 1 PM PST) during Eggcellent Adventures, with the planned regular event 2x rates including breeding throughout the weekdays while the event is active.

Hey Survivors!
We've identified the issue affecting the Dino Depot mod on PlayStation. PlayStation users should now be able to join Dino Depot servers (please make sure the mod is updated on your PlayStation and try restarting the server to make sure you have grabbed the latest version).
We're also working with Overwolf on a broader solution to identify and fix other mods in this broken state across all platforms. We expect to roll that out over the next day or so.

We're currently in contact with Microsoft regarding the issue where Ragnarok cannot be downloaded on the Microsoft or Windows store without switching regions, or in some cases not at all. Microsoft's platform team are investigating the issue and we're hoping to get them some additional data. For those of you not able to download the map, could you please try once more and then leverage 'Report a Problem'? feature, submitting your diagnostics. That will help their team diagnose the issue, more details can be found here:

Hey everyone!
Looking into some critical issues at the moment, and having some more information from you would be very helpful.
**1. ** Firstly, we understand that a fair number of players are still experiencing the large FPS drop during gameplay (which may not recover unless the application is restarted). Our last fix made some changes to the way memory was being allocated but it seems like this hasn't caught all cases, or isn't enough -- we're still working on the core solution for this but in the meantime we want to explore an additional approach.
Over the last few days, we've had about 20 different cases of players eliminating the issue by installing an older driver for their NVIDIA card. Most have had success with 572.83, but some have also used 572.47. For those of you experiencing the issue, could you please try using one of the drivers?

We're aware of the crash caused by moving items to the hot bar and are actively working on a client patch to resolve the issue. We're also investigating whether a server-side fix is possible.
In the meantime, if you're stuck and need to empty your hotbar without crashing (e.g., to care for your babies), respawning your character may help as a temporary workaround.

We're aware of an issue with seeing server listing for Xbox players. In the meantime, you can uncheck the "Xbox-online multiplayer" box. If it's greyed out, you can return to the main menu then return to the server listing and you should be able to uncheck the option.
By doing so, you will see the servers (they are there, but they are being hidden by that setting being falsely enabled).

There are no changes to how this works on our side so we'll need some insight from them on how to resolve it/where the issue is occurring.

The issue causing the greyed-out ‘Xbox-only online multiplayer’ checkbox has now been resolved, and players should be able to toggle it normally again.
However, we’re still actively working with Microsoft on the account privileges issue that may be preventing some players from accessing multiplayer. This remains a high priority.
In the meantime, here’s a workaround that may help if you’re still getting stuck on the 'Xbox-only online multiplayer' setting:
Exiting to the main menu and then returning to the server list—this should allow you to try again.

Hi Xbox and Windows Survivors,
We’re aware of an issue preventing some players from downloading the new map from the Microsoft or Windows Store, either without switching regions, or in some cases, not at all.
We’re in contact with Microsoft and working together on a fix. In the meantime, switching regions seems to work for most players, so please try that workaround while we prepare a hotfix.
If you did successfully download Valguero but you are still unable to access singleplayer or multiplayer, a temporary workaround is to install the Ragnarok map as there's a permission issue we're working to resolve in the next update.

Hey guys, the build with the crash fix has passed and we're now prepping a full network redeployment which will begin in about 15 minutes. Your server may take a while to pop up depending on its savefile size so please be patient. If you have a chonky server, it can take over 30 min.

Quick update: Many servers are now coming back online and others are coming up after a manual rebooting. Unfortunately, in some cases, we’ve had to perform a short rollback due to save corruption caused by the earlier crashing issue.
For those seeing longer rollback times, please note that it reflects the time since the last save, not necessarily in-game progress, as some servers weren’t running for a good part of that period.

Hey folks, just a little update:
AWS is recovering but there are still 82 services impacted. We are testing bringing up some servers and monitoring to make sure it's safe to fully redeploy the official network. We'll update when we're confident it's fully recovered.
Our partners at Curseforge and Nitrado are also monitoring and working on restoring their services. This outage was a doozy!
In other news, Mc Donalds has restored their nuggies but the ice cream machine remains broken.

The affected servers have been renamed with the "SUNSET" prefix as part of the process. Please be aware that once renamed, these servers are automatically removed from the in-game Favorites list, which may cause some confusion if you don’t see them listed.

In 30 minutes (4:50 PM PST) the Official Network will be taken offline in preparation for the Ossidon update, along with some Epic maintenance.

Server Join Issues
We have a substantial update on the server join issues! The EOS Sessions cluster for ARK experienced an unexpected outage. Epic’s team is actively working to restore service, with an estimated recovery in about 20 minutes. After that, we’ll need to redeploy to fully resolve the issue.

Update on Server Join Issues v.2
Hey Survivors,
On further evaluation, we've pivoted to avoiding the full redeployment of the Official Network and, instead, our server techs are working on manually restoring the few straggling servers. This will disrupt fewer players playtime.
If we hit a hitch with this approach, we will default back to a redeployment. Of course in-game notice will be given if option two eventuates.
The issue seems to be resolved and we're remaining in contact with our partners as they monitor.

We’re currently investigating an issue where the Lost Colony and Scorched Earth DLCs are not publishing correctly. In some cases, this can cause broader problems if older versions of the DLC are already installed, impacting more than just those maps.
We’re actively working to resolve this. Microsoft is investigating on their end, and in parallel we’re rebuilding and re-submitting the DLC packages to get things moving as quickly as possible as this may be the fastest path to a fix.

We've been analyzing the data we gathered over the last few hours and are continuing to work on the issue. When we've got viable fixes, we'll be deploying it to the small sub-section of servers again to stress-test and validate that the crash is resolved. Once we confirm everything is stable we'll be rolling it out network wide.
<@&1341306887446073365> Just to address a few comments re: this platform, we are seeing an issue on the backend with some of the DLC failing to release (all but one apparently). We've contacted Microsoft to ask them how to handle it. Fortunately we do have another build in certification so once that clears, we're going to see if we can push that out instead and get us out of this "stuck" state. Apologies for the delay on that, fighting a few fires here 🧯.

We've been battle-testing the latest set of fixes internally and so far so good, we're ready to deploy them on the sub-section of servers which are online (you'll see a notice about a deployment for those shortly, those of you in game).
Our plan will be to monitor, continuing to collect logs and if all seems well over the next 2 hours, we'll be looking to push it out wide. There is a chance that this could still have problems, at which point we are fully prepared to analyse the crash reports and continue to work on the issue.
This is the highest level of priority at the studio and are applying the maximum number of resources to get the network back online.
The new version will be called v83.1702, I understand it is cheeky of me to ask but if any of you are patiently waiting to play and your server isn't online, but there are slots available in the ones that are, you logging on and interacting with the game would help us identify sooner whether this fix is good to go network wide.
Appreciate everyone's patience over the last two days and we'll continue to keep you updated as we make progress and have further information to share.
For those curious about the issue we're dealing with, I've explained it non-technically here: #general message (and there's also other assortment of pinned messages in #general covering various questions, but not necessarily worthy of a status-update here).
<@&992520031411896422> Just as a quick status update, so far so good. We haven't encountered the crash or the corruption since the latest fix was released to this small batch of servers. We're still going to leave them online a little longer just to be sure, but wanted to keep you updated as we kick off the preparations for release (under the guise that things are going to continue to go well).
Here's what's going to happen now:
- **1 to 1.5 Hours added to the clock: **We've began building the releasable server executable that can be deployed to our entire network. This will take a bit of time to build (approximately 1.5 hours). It is running the same code as the build that has been in testing, but includes a bit more of our standard optimization for release which we skipped during this part of the test so we could iterate faster (it's quicker to generate servers w/o that), removing the additional logging (which slows down the test server and makes it a bit more unstable), and fix up the version number.
- **1 to 1.5 Hours added to the clock: ** Once that build is generated, our technical and QA team will put it through a final test to make sure it's clear for release. Assuming those tests also clear, we should be good to release this server network wide.
- While this is ongoing, we'll continue to make sure things are stable with v83.1702 and analyze the data that we're collecting.
So as of right now, I would estimate our release window to be around 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM Pacific. That could change pending further developments, and we'll update you as we go along. Thanks for hanging in there everyone!
One thing I want to say about the status updates are only able to be more precise now because we have learnt more about what we're dealing with. Most of the previous 48 hours were just "we are looking into it", because that was really what we were doing. Collecting evidence, trying things out. Weren't making much headway. It was only after we got that build up last night, collected and analyzed the data after our naps, that we were able to make this progress.
That's how this works, it's easier now because we know a bit more about what we're dealing with. Think of it this way, for most of the past two days, we were essentially lost out at sea and our navigators are trying to get us back on path, and all we can really say is "We're working on it and we'll update you when we can". Now with the info we've gained today and the fixes we've been able to apply, we can feel a bit more confident about where we're headed and shape our comms around that.
And even with all that.. we could hit another iceberg 😂, it's complicated folks! But hopefully we're coming to the end of this madness and I'll crawl back into my cave

We're analyzing the data and logs now, but this means we will have to rework the fix and it pushes back the our estimated deployment time. It's likely going to be a while until the next status update as we investigate the most recent crash. Sorry everyone, we'll keep you posted.
We're about to deploy another update to those servers with a fix applied. We're going to keep this running for a few hours again to monitor for issues and gather data.

Hey folks, quick update on the transfer issues impacting some players from earlier:
We were investigating intermittent problems tied to latency on EU endpoints, which also appeared to be impacting Nitrado-hosted servers. Things have since stabilised and the issue looks to have resolved.
We’ve received a number of reports about “lost” characters during this window. In many cases, the character isn’t actually gone, it’s still on the server you transferred from.
If you were affected:
- Please try logging back into the previous server you transferred from and check for your character there
- If your character is still missing after that, please submit a new #character-restoration report so we can take a closer look
We’ll be closing out older reports that match this scenario to keep things focused on any remaining real cases.

Just a quick update on the cloud data/transfer issues.
We’ve enabled some additional logging and diagnostics on a subset of servers to help us better trace what’s going on, and we’re continuing to work with our partners to investigate the root cause.
For now, we’d recommend holding off on transfers or uploads where possible. In many cases, characters and items can be recovered by returning to the server they originated from or checking your ARK upload after a little time, but this isn’t guaranteed.

We’re still under the hood with our hosting partners, narrowing down the root cause of these intermittent disruptions affecting some players when transferring and uploading.
While we’ve made solid progress in isolating the problem and hope for a resolution as quickly as possible, we still suggest hitting the brakes on any major transfers or uploads for the time being. If you've lost track of a character or item, try heading back to the original server or checking your ARK upload after a short wait; while not a guaranteed fix, it has been successful for many players.
We know this is a massive headache, and we appreciate you hanging in there while this is sorted.

Hey Survivors, it's been a little bit since our last update so let's do quick check-in on the transfer/upload issues.
The good news is that the situation appears to be largely stable right now. However, we are still seeing it pop up occasionally, usually limited to specific regions and resolving within a few hours.
This one’s been tricky to pin down as the root cause sits outside our usual pipeline. That said, we’ve developed a speculative change that has shown a lot of promise in our initial tests as an effective way to mitigate the issue.
The main blocker right now is verification. We haven’t been able to reliably reproduce the issue internally, so we need it to occur live to gather the data we need. When it does, we’ll roll out the final round of tests. If that holds up, we’ll move to push the fix out as quickly as we can.

Following patch v85.41, we’ve got one more change to make related to transfers that we want to get in before it will be safer to transfer.

Hey folks, we were gearing up to redeploy the Official Network with a final update for transfers, but the PlayStation Network is currently experiencing issues, so we’re holding off until it stabilises.
Players already connected on PlayStation should be okay for now. However, new joins, or leaving and trying to rejoin, will likely shut players out until PSN is stable. We’ll keep monitoring and move ahead with the redeployment as soon as things are in a better spot. Thanks for your patience.

Quick update:
The situation impacting transfers and uploads seems resolved. Cloudflare appears stable again, and we’re now seeing cloud data behaving as expected.
Transfers have been now been re-enabled.
If you do not see your character, in many cases, the character isn’t actually gone, it’s still on the server you transferred from.
- Please try logging back into the previous server you transferred from and check for your character there
- If your character is still missing after that, please submit a new #character-restoration report so we can take a closer look
We’ll continue to monitor closely and step in if anything changes.

The Lost Colony major version update including a slew of bug fixes and cave entrance improvements, will be going live in <t:1777658400:R>.
Please note: any structures built directly within these choke points on PvP servers will be destroyed when the update goes live.

One last update for the next few hours: we have a fix that looks solid, but we want to be thorough with testing before deploying it wide.
To protect your data, transfers will remain disabled while that testing continues. This may take some time, so please plan around transfers remaining offline for at least the next 6 hours or so.
PS: Pausing decay would reset timers, which could create additional issues for some players in this current situation. Leaving them as-is is the safest option while we continue working through this.
