Not really, they're trained to reply and fix all kinds of issues. It only depends on how loaded support is with tickets, and whether or not they're on a break (in this case it would take over a week) Which is why the time ranges from a few days to a week

If they go on a break, it's usually announced in #news iirc and usually only happens on days like Christmas or any other major holiday where they might want to be with their families^^

I don't think it's in known issues. What's in known issues is about the crashing issue making sky on Android 8 unplayable, and translation feature not working

A screenshot would be helpful but I think you're experiencing that visual bug that make hairs appear black/semi black, can also affect realms either making them black or red/metallic. Make sure to bug report it^^ Try to clear cache (not data) , restart sky if you haven't yet and/or restart device if none of it fixes it. You may need to reinstall if nothing works(make sure to have your sky id saved and your account is linked, preferably to more than one method)

(I already replied to them in another channel) You need to turn off the automatic Google play sign in so it lets you choose iirc, tho I'm not sure how to do that. Your other option is deleting all gmails but the one you need from your phone (from the settings), then go back to sky and it should use the only gmail that's available
You can add back all the emails after you log in successfully

I believe to turn off Google's automatic sign in is- Play games > profile > settings > turn off "automatically sign into supported games"

Idk if this has been answered before but I have my Nintendo account linked to the Sky mobile app (on Android phone), and I got a new phone today (still have the old one though). I don't know how to set it up so I can play with the same account on the new phone. If the game is asking you to create a new account, that usually means no Sky account is attached to that Nintendo account. I would suggest making sure it's the correct Nintendo account. If you are 100% sure you're using the correct Nintendo account, the next step would be to contact support.

Found these two messages from a similar issue to yours,

1.If the update doesn't show up, long press Play Store from your app drawer, tap app info or the ℹ️ icon. Tap storage and cache and clear cache. Wait about 60 seconds and check the play store again for an update.
Make sure you have over 3Gb free storage too
(credit to Uzephi & definickly)

2.Clearing data from play store and play services should do the trick. Just be sure to not do anything on your phone for about 60 seconds since those two apps will sync your data back from the cloud and can cause your device to lag randomly for those 60 seconds. (Credit to Uzephi too I think?)

Clearing data from playstore would just remove history and so on, all purchases and apps are saved to your gmails. It may also remove payment methods that you might have saved, but that's easy to get back as it's just re-adding all the information back onto it, it's safe to do so

I have a feeling that 3.3 just isn't enough for your device, that 0.3 might not be enough for the device itself to run. They wouldn't address this since very few people experience this, and the majority that do(excluding the ones with 100gb free and play store is just being weird in that case) the majority that do just turn out to not have enough storage.
The only issues they talk about are the very major ones that affect a large percentage of players. This storage issue is also not TGC's fault, it's playstore fault

You could ask in #questions-and-help but I'm assuming that playstore is assuming you don't have enough storage for the device itself

Don't want to ping due to age of the post, but all Android devices eligible to play Sky will have Google Play Services. It's not an app, but a system module. It's only accessible in settings - apps - show all apps - 3 dot menu - show system apps. It should show there. No need to worry about losing anything when clearing play store or play services data. It's all backed up to Google's cloud.

guys, the bug that we are having from android 8 has happened to me before in the beta, what a coincidence that the same thing is happening to me in the global, the two parts of sky: children of the light, beta and live, the same thing happens to me, takes me out when I appear entering the zoom mode in home and crashes, make screen black too

They already fixed the crashes for most devices in beta prior release and just a small % of users left affected. It's also possible that they didn't have enough data to point out what's happening or they already were working on it. You never know, therefore don't assume the worst

Bugs take time to fix, as it means to dive into the thousands of codes, and making sure that by fixing the bug you're not breaking anything else as that often happens. It can be as small as a missing bracket within a hundred lines of code that's causing the crashing. If you think they're taking too long, you can always apply as a coder for TGC and fix it for them

To be fair, 95% of the devices affected by the crash are already considered EOL (end of life) by their manufacturers. Android 8 is almost 5 years old. Expecting it to play a game in active development with upgrades to graphics is quite ambitious.

Inb4 someone claims Switch is that old. The Switch isn't considered EOL. Android 8 was put in EOL status 3 years ago by Google.

TGC doesn't read the channel, and complaining here won't make TGC work faster

Not all devices are capable of updating to higher versions as, well, newer devices still recieve all the support and updates until the company creates 'better' devices to gradually put their time and effort into those ones instead. Updating to higher version provides updates to the UI, graphic performance, new features etc. That older devices aren't capable of handling due to being too old. Mine went from Android 9 to android 10 to android 11(current) and one day it'll stop updating and be outdated as an android 8, it's how it is unfortunately. Majority of devices stop getting support after 2-3 years

It's inarguably the best to report crash as a bug regardless others reported because even the smallest new details can help devs in breakthrough. Unfortunately a minority of us come here to help the affected ones and it's sad to see these helps quickly got buried with emotional messages or chatter which are not android tech related. I'm not against chat but whoever comes here can't see the most valuable information, this is why I pointed objectively. Anyone can see from previous messages here that I (and others) help with heart, objectivity and with most short way. Why short? Because many times people ignore long messages or miss valuable information from them even when pinged. This is not a fault, we live in a world of informational noise so it's easy to drag drag something out of context which already happened here too. Dragging out one sentence and magnifying it to asking of someone's mod or taking an objective message as dismissive following it to a theoretical general conversation doesn't help understanding the intentions of me, and doesn't help the affected users at all either and a bit discouraging to those few who come here giving useful information in this channel (which is abandoned from help anyway). There are several channels to speak out feelings here and I miss the convergence and coherent power of affected ones as a community sharing each other how and what to do. Instead of asking who is mod or what would be great in communication theory I would be so joyful and inspired to see how others help. It would be so soothing for visitors seeing and looking at a more helping environment towards them and may even help the bugfix process if we ask each other, help, keep the channel mood better, and contribute to keep it as pointer to solutions.

And a local account is an account that isn't linked to any of your emails/platforms outside sky. Like let's say for example, you play the game for the first time; even if you exit out of the game without linking your account, you can still go back to your current progress in-game, right?? That's because the local account has your progress saved. It's like a stored game data within the phone itself. But if you lose that data, you will no longer have your local account/saved progress inside the phone— which is where linking comes in and why it's so important. because as long as the game is linked to an email, your progress is saved.

I've heard android 8 phones work fine with local account. Is that true?

Not sure, I tried Local account (which restart your acc) and it's fine until I enter a realm, it crashes

I tried many things to log in i used my friend phone but can't log in cuz someone log his google so i can't log in he don't even know the password as well I tried my other friend phone but her device is old and i tried my aunt's Huawei but it's android 8
