Is Sky free-to-play on Nintendo Switch?
Yes! While there will be certain areas that require in-app-purchase items to enter, players with those items will be able to bring along friends without those items through hand holding, a social mechanic that allows players to travel together.
Can I use my mobile account to play on Nintendo Switch?
Yes! However, you will need to link your mobile Sky account to your Nintendo account on your mobile device BEFORE playing on your Nintendo Switch. Please see our “How do I link my mobile Sky account to my Nintendo Switch account?” FAQ for important details and instructions.
Will there be a physical edition?
There are currently no plans for a physical edition.
Will there be an option to purchase a collector’s edition?
There will not be a collector’s edition - there will, however, be a unique in-app-purchase Starter Pack that can only be purchased on Nintendo Switch.
Will I be able to access all of the content available in the mobile version of the game?
Players just beginning Sky on the Nintendo Switch will have access to the same content as mobile players.
Will I be able to experience prior seasons on the Nintendo Switch version of the game?
You will not, although Traveling Spirits regularly introduce Spirits from prior Seasons, allowing players to earn their unique emotes and cosmetics. A new feature is on the horizon, allowing players to collect the base expression from all Past Seasonal Spirits.
Will a Nintendo Switch Online subscription be required to play this game?
No, you will not need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play Sky.
Can I play Sky with all Nintendo Switch controller types?
Almost! You can play Sky with all Nintendo Switch controller types and configurations with the exception of playing with a single Joy Con.
Can Switch players play alongside mobile users?
Yes! Sky supports Cross Play across all devices in addition to Cross Save.
Will Sky: Children of the Light be coming to any other platforms?
We don’t currently have any official news regarding Sky other platforms.

We don’t currently have any official news regarding other thatgamecompany games for Nintendo Switch.
Can I play with multiple accounts on my Switch with my family?
Yes! Please note that you must have a separate Nintendo Account per Sky Account. If you want to link your mobile Sky Account to Nintendo Switch you must do so from your mobile device prior to playing Sky on your Nintendo Switch account.
Will the Nintendo Switch version of Sky support STAR pins?
Not initially, although we will be adding that functionality at a later date.
How do I find the Version number on Switch?
Follow these steps to find the Version and Build numbers, this will be asked for bug reports:

🔹 Press the + button
🔹 Version will be in small print beneath the Title, formatted as 0.0.0.123456—build number is the last 6 digits
Can I use Candles or Gift Passes bought on Nintendo Switch while playing on mobile, and vice versa?
Candles and Gift Passes purchased on Nintendo Switch must be used while on Switch. Candles and Gift Passes **purchased **on mobile devices must be used on mobile devices. This applies to In-App Purchases of outfit or prop items that include Candles or Gift Passes as part of a pack/bundle.
Platform restrictions when purchasing a Gift Pass do not apply to the recipient of a Gift Pass—e.g. if a Switch player buys a Gift Pass for their Mobile friend, or vice versa, it will work the same as if a Mobile player bought a Gift Pass for a fellow Mobile player before the release of Sky on Switch
What is the Starter Pack and how long is it available?
The Starter Pack on Switch is a permanent offering on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 USD (not including regional tax), it contains:

🔹 A vessel flute
🔹 75 Candles
The Starter Pack on Mobile, available for $4.99 USD (not including regional tax), it contains:
🔸 Orange cape 
🔸 20 Candles
How will I interact with player support on Switch?
You will be able to scan a QR code with your phone that will take you to our player support hub, where agents will be able to assist you.
How do I link my mobile Sky account to my Nintendo Switch account?
If you wish to play your current Sky mobile [iOS/Android] account on the Nintendo Switch console, you must first link your account from your mobile device. Below are further instructions on how.
__IMPORTANT NOTE: __Beginning a new Sky game on Nintendo Switch will automatically link your Nintendo account, so please make sure to use your mobile device to link your current Sky account to a Nintendo account FIRST if you wish to continue with your current mobile account on Nintendo Switch. Once you link your account either on mobile or by starting a new game on Nintendo Switch there is no possible way to unlink it. Player Support cannot manually assist with linking or unlinking an account. Please use caution and make sure you’re linking the correct account, as this action is permanent.
Tip: You do not need to own or have immediate access to a Nintendo Switch console to make an account. You can register here at: https://accounts.nintendo.com/register
1️⃣ Log in to your Sky account on your iOS or Android device
2️⃣ Press the cog icon
in the top right corner of the game screen to open the Utility Menu and go to the** ‘Account’** tab
3️⃣ In the account ‘Linking’ option, press the ‘Nintendo Account’ option, and then tap ‘Link’
4️⃣ Sign in to your Nintendo Account
5️⃣ You may get prompted by the following screen asking if you want to create a new account, click Cancel as you already have a Sky account
6️⃣ Finish the linking process on the mobile device
7️⃣ From your Nintendo Switch device, log in to the Nintendo account you linked to your Sky account
Please note: purchased candles do not carry over between mobile and Nintendo Switch platforms. However, collected/forged candles will appear on both mobile and console.
