I have a life hack that maybe save some time for Android users. Just found out minutes ago.

You need a friend with whom you have the piggy unlocked. Every time you enter a "dangerous" area (where the game might crash), you look down and try not to move the camera too much. For example in the sanctuary. Ask your friend if he can get close to the bells and as fast as you see or hear the music in the background, move the camera down. I also tried it with Valley and Wasteland. I did my cr perfectly.

Your phone supports Vulkan or you'd not render the game. All graphics API calls for the world of Sky are Vulkan. Only reason OpenGL is required is for the UI.

Nothing against the terms of service running a custom rom. The only requirement is to officially pass basic CTS. If your ROM doesn't conform to Google's basic CTS check, you can't run Sky.

Unmodified AOSP and a proper Gapps package, yes. Some AOSP based roms might have modifications that break integrity and fail basic CTS check. A good example is some roms that have Xposed baked into it. (Those ones would fail CTS check no matter what you try)

Wasteland is the most demanding realm. Try to teleport to a friend at various places of shipwreck or battlefield, try to look up or down but that's pure luck

/wasteland has certain places where it doesnt try to load the whooole place. only the end areas (think around Sneaky lady and the Respekt Duck buddy) , where if you turn your camera back, it try to load the whole realm at once. and crash
also, dont fly, as bird eye view wont help. the skulls arent sand and snow, and is pretttty hard on your gpu.
walking and looking straight seems to worrk better in my experience

I don't know whether it works for your device, but I manage to go to sanctuary island solo.

When you enter sanctuary, aim your camera to the left side so you are facing the clouds. Try to fly towards the new candle cake island without looking at the main island because the game will crash.

Once you collected your wax there, jump down and swim towards the main island. Once you reach the main island, you can look around without crashing.

At any point the main island enters your sight (even if it's a tiny bit) before you reach it, the game will crash.

If the game crashes at any point, use return shrine.

If you have a white transition screen, starts panning the camera towards the ground. If it is black, it doesn't work.

Cr with your camera towards the ground. You can enter the treehouses this way too.

The part that breaks my heart is that, if you check the bug reports for the latest beta release you'll see a lot of people mentioning the exact same crash -- I reported myself. And yet this has gone to the live version 😦 I love tgc and am amazed with what they have accomplished with such a small team -- getting into Nintendo Switchverse is no small accomplishment, nor is implementing so many features of the game based on feedback from such an active and passionate community. I really hope they manage to fix things soon ❤️

2. they have a deadline to meet, as switch updates takes waaaaaaay longer to get publish. an update given to us yesterday must be verified at least a week prior
3. the black screen bug took 3 weeks, that were unseen to us players. they release it to live and got another three days to finally figure out what went wrong. bug fixing for android is a whole different story, (see no1)

The issue is because a small but still significant portion of manufacturers most probably did not update Vulkan renderer drivers properly and exactly these models crash (mostly Mali GPUs and Chinese brands). The devs are working hard on fixing.

1. The third portal of forest; forest brook? I can still tp to my friend there as long as he's near the hide and seek spirit
2. Forest broken bridge; the first part of the bridge near the tree (where the cutscene usually happens)
3. GW on the graveyard near the end gate; IF approached from the left side of the area
4. Hermit; avoid the boat at all cost. Tp only
5. Sanct; the islands near the portal from the sting ray island? (The area before sanct).

Many areas are still laggy to me but I usually just wait a bit before I move anywhere. And what has been helping me a lot is making fun of the crashes with my friend whenever they happen lol. It makes them less frustrating

I guess you can try and use customer support but unless I am doing something wrong the menu to contact them is kinda useless, it takes you to a page where they tell you how to do the exact same thing you just did to read the whole thing and then voila! playing 3 or more keys at the same time does not play the piano.
An example would be: you touch the A1, A3, B1 and B3 key at the same time (4 keys). The game will not detect that it was touched or only one/two keys will sound.
It should be noted that it is the game since in other applications to play Sky's piano, it does work

Check your app version in settings > apps > Sky , the latest is 0.14.5 (175117). There has been a new one yesterday
If the update doesn't show up, long press Play Store from your app drawer, tap app info or the ℹ️ icon. Tap storage and cache and clear cache. Wait about 60 seconds and check the play store again for an update.
Make sure you have over 3Gb free storage too

Hello! Just in case if someone is looking for krill tricks, I've been using purchase trick and support trick since the latest patch update and both of them work perfectly.

Purchase trick: when the krill spots you, immediately open the shop and tap on any items. When the krill charges at you, tap the checklist button, but don't proceed to check out. Keep the google play store window, wait for a few seconds to make sure the krill already hit you and went away. Close the window and you can continue your adventure!

Support trick: almost the same as the purchase trick, but this time, use the support button from the settings at the top right corner of the screen.

I don't think that's possible, the game is "linked" to the account you were using when you installed it. If you want to make a purchase with a different account you'll probably have do uninstall it and download it again. Make sure you're connected to an account (in-game) and you have your Sky ID saved (like a screenshot) before tho

Is there anyone who has successfully been able to use STAR in android? i have tried on three diff phones now -- all has NFC and can do stuff like payments, check card baalances, etc, and it has never even once worked, not in any of the 4 pins i got (i had the 1st anniversary set as well as an extra pin). it's quite disappointing because as a result, i decided to not buy the second anniversary set or any other pins since it's pointless.

every time I ask support they always send me a template message with a "oh you can check by doing this" or whatever, and ask for a video. a video is incredibly hard to send because i dont have a camera setup so even tho i can use my ipad for recording, it wont be ideal.

Ktjn already made a statement in beta discussion tho that the music devs are working continuosly on the issue. Please note this topic is for Android related questions, it's good to sometimes let it out, but all platforms are affected (except switch, where it's even harder to play notes because of the controller by default). Keep reporting it as a bug for each build, that lets the devs know that the issue is still there. The more users report, the more likely it will be handled as priority.

2. Your friend is in the middle of a challenge or in a secret area
3. You and your friend are not in the same version of Sky

Before the recent hotfix when the game would crash literally everywhere, I noticed the graphics were improved. Dust particles, waterfalls, and those light-waterfall-like-thingies in vault flowed smoothly, it felt like Sky before switch release. But after the hotfix I noticed the graphics quality went down again (blocky dust particles, waterfalls and such).
Tgc is not forgetting us Android peeps, they did try to improve the graphics but I guess they failed, causing crashes in certain Android GPUs.

It's most likely your connection then. Sky is a connection sensitive game. Close background apps like Facebook or voice chat, restart wifi on your phone and try again
