It could interfere with your system optimization, it could cause worse battery life (if you’re using multiple apps at the same time displaying themselves in your screen), but afaik no one who has used this fix has experienced any issues

depends on your device, typically yes you will use more power while rendering higher graphics simply due to the very fundamentals of how computers work, its hard to estimate how much of an effect it will have as this will depend on background processes, battery age and CPU efficiency

Different phones can have different hardware and thus some phones are more expensive than others. The redmi 10A maybe new but its hardware (the GPU) is low performing and this makes the phone much cheaper than a redmi 10. The cheap GPU of the 10A is the reason it's not compatibe for sky while your redmi9 power's GPU is.

This is an issue for steam community everywhere. The DNS is on clientHold status, meaning for whatever reason, the domain has been suspended and needs to be unlocked by Steam. So it's not just Sky that's affected 😢

Please check what kind of processor your device has (on an internet quick search one web says it has JLQ JR510, but have not been able to find out if it is an 64bit or not -Sky can't run on a 32bit processor-. The GPU of Xiaomi Poco C40 appears to be Mali-G52, which is kind of weak, and it's RAM appears to be 3-4 GB. Update: at notebookcheck.net they say that the SoC of Poco C40 is made by JLQ and that the SoC called "JR510" is slow and can't run some benchmarks because the GPU is uncapable of handling the API Vulkan.

Your welcome. I suggest you look into your own phone for the device characteristics, as the same model can have different internal components depending on the region you live in or bought the device from.

Also, **if your device is apt **to run sky, it may be a good idea to report it, so the Devs are aware of another model that has an issue with opening the app that Devs are already aware of (#known-issues message)

Motorola G series has Vulkan - so you can download Sky because Google sees it has it, but you won't be able to play Sky because Vulkan is incomplete in G series.

It has always been like that by Motorola: they have innovative ideas but in comparison to several other manufacturers they lack in software support - This includes not only how they get less frequent Android updates and updates for shorter times, but also how G series come out from the factory. It's like as if they built the base for a building in a district but it's only 75% ready. You can't rely on that.

It has been an ongoing issue for years by Motorola with some other games as well. Here's an online discussion as an example about it:

As I said, it's G series issue. It's a fundamental driver problem for Motorola G series. A simple android update or install can't resolve that.

Contents: I still think it's Sky, because my other apps have no issue. Can TGC fix it? Facts: even benchmark apps can't run fully on G series phones.

It's not only Sky. The fact that amongst the apps only Sky depends highly on Vulkan represents game choice only. The fact that a game highly depends on Vulkan is rare though, and Sky is one of these apps.

Unfortunately, it won't be fixed by TGC because it's not their job to do it and they have no access to the phone's core drivers. They would have to rewrite the complete game engine and redo multiple years of development as a favor for G series. Only this series of phones doesn't run Sky, but other brands compatible devices (and even other Motorolas) do, because they have complete vulkan.

Lastly, here's a review where the phone not only gets low points, but also independent testers criticise the (even more powerful) G54 power editon's poor Vulkan:

Ultimately the final solution could be a stronger phone but you can try these:
The minimum setting uses low fps to save battery, try on one bar setting without background apps. Make sure you have good connection to avoid lags coming from that side. Also might want to uninstall aggressive hungry background apps like Facebook and TikTok. Disabling apps over apps features like discord over Sky or messenger bubbles help. Try to play on battery levels above 50%, without charger and in good ventilation (without phone cases) to avoid throttling.

So I have a question (/vent?) to ask/share.
Im playing on an Android and it's not the newest phone I have to admit that. Game sometimes lagged before but after the newest update it became basically unplayable. Before the laggs were like I couldn't move for some time or I had to wait a bit before wax got collected. Now I cannot move for at least 10 minutes after I open the game, my game laggs so hard that my phone just exit the app, sometimes even shuts down entirely. Last time I tried to played I spent an hour trying to open it and start the game play. My phone shut down 3 times in a row. I don't know why is that but before the update the game ran pretty smoothly. I want to add that I'm always playing on lowest graphic l, I always close all the apps and put on do not disturb mode on my phone before playing. I read the advice that someone wrote two messages before and I will try that next time but idk if it will help since it begun with the update.

(This is the end of the question/feedback next part is just for me to get our my frustration a bit and it doesn't need to be read)

I'm just really sad and kind of mad because I adore this game. I've been playing it for almost three years and I loved every single minute of it. This game also helps me connect with my dear sibling that lives abroad and we cannot see each other that often. That's why we hang out a lot in sky. Right now not only I lost that because of the amount of lags but I also will probably lose the opportunity to buy latest cosmetics and my seasonal pass will probably go to waste since I cannot collect any dailies again because of the lags. Hi! 🫶 Did you get low ram message? Because the ram usage of Sky should be fairly low (not more than 2GB) and that would be enough. The android system is designed to store some apps in ram for faster app launch and save battery and it can automatically free up ram if more is needed.

If it's not low ram message we should look into what happened and when on your phone which could affect its performance.

A lot of ram is automatically taken up by majority of default apps and background services on your phone, I recommend taking some time to look through apps you have and disable them if you don't need them, for example my phone comes with AR emoji and a few others which I can't uninstall so I disable since I don't use

Your phone has an aggressive background app management, not little ram compared to apps.

This could be because of any of the following reasons:

• software updates can gedrade performance of devices either because the new updates have features optimized for new series or because the manufacturer intentionally put performance degrading elements for older phones in updates (which is not legal and can result in occasional scandals)
• your latest Android update could be poorly optimized by development error or it has more aggressive background app management intentionally
• device hardware have lifespan and it could be device degradation and the system is throttling performance

I recommend to roll back update or flash the stock ROM version before that may 28 update to see what will happen.

If Sky closes quickly don't worry because that's a battery hog, and even my iphone closes it in seconds if use discord for a bit. However, 8GB RAM should be more than enough for YouTube fr. Don't worry about game crashing, crashes don't happen because of low ram or ram management reasons! Crashes happen when something is "stuck" or "collision", not because if something is "low" (and again, 8 GB is more than enough for Sky). If my year 2018 secondary phone (Android) with 4GB RAM can play Sky without crashes, believe me RAM is not the issue.

I recommend to uninstall Facebook and TikTok as these are heavy and aggressive background apps. Disable apps over apps feature like messenger bubbles and discord over Sky. However I think the issue lurks in the latest update or hardware degradation. Maybe worth to check background process settings in the development settings of your phone.

Active internet connection, wifi signal, working YouTube or emails and assuming connection strength ("it was good before") are not enough unfortunately for a network heavy live game like Sky. It matters how strong the connection is to your WiFi router by your ISP because WiFi is only one part in the signal chain. You have two options: either the phone has such menu in android settings (which can be unique for each phone model if they allow that) or you can do it manually by reinstalling the ROM (basically the rollback does the same automatically, if enabled by the manufacturer).

Frame drops are not random, but you might feel them they are random depending on your device hardware. Try to uninstall recently installed apps, disable apps over apps feature like messenger bubbles and discord over Sky, uninstall Facebook and TikTok. Change Sky graphics settings to one bar in game settings. Hope it helps!

As you can see in the video, every time I start the game it only shows me the first screen and does not progress any further. It's an android limitation thing, the d pad doesn't work for android devices. I use an original DS4 and gulikit controller and the d pad doesn't respond on both.

Hi! It's listed in #known-issues . Basically if any stranger opens the gate before you,the gate won't be open for you. In that case go home, wait at least half minute at home, and use the return shrine. Then rush to the candles and the meditation circle to be able to open the gates.

EDIT: Found the problem -- my phone had settings that uses gestures including three-finger gestures (such as screenshot). Basically, I disabled the 3-finger screenshot in my phone settings, then I went back to sky and try to see if three notes at once would still bug me out - and it didn't! Got it fixed. If this happens to anyone as well - if it's not just lag or a cracked screen - then it might have something to do with the touch settings in your phone (in my case, three-finger gestures).

I did some digging for you and it has a Mali G72 GPU which is not that strong. Moreover it has exynos chipset which makes more trouble in games. Samsung's GPU here doesn't have proper Open GL driver and it is using a "duct tape" called Angle (which is an additional OpemGL to Vulkan translation layer).

Try to remove all resource hungry background apps like Facebook and TikTok, disable apps over apps feature like messenger bubbles and discord over Sky. But if it's still there even on battery saver (which already limits fps to save it from frame drops) then you can't do much other than replacing the device with a recommended one

It was in regards to the infinite seasonal candle glitch that happened on 19th June, as mentioned in #quick-dev-updates . TGC removed the candles obtained from the glitch for players who abused it. You can raise a ticket to support if you feel your candles were taken by mistake.

Hello. It may be late but this might help you. Sometimes nests are a bit buggy when you go up (you may notice that whatever prop or decor you placed there may take a bit to show). The best way to get the board task done is by you going to your nest first (or your friend to their own nest if you are the one visiting). I would, before that, check at the challenges board that the task is active, just in case (even though it should recognize it without needing to go there first). Your friend should wait at aviary until they see your name in the visiting lever (that is the 2nd lever from the entrance to the building). Sometimes they may need to try a few times to be able to visit (we have experienced this with friends). Once you are both at a nest, you will be able to complete the "high 5 a friend at the nest" task. Good luck!

Another alternative Stoat have mentioned is: If using the return shrine doesn't get the rain to show up, and you can't glitch past the eden door, then you might be able to get a friend to merge with you in stormlock home (kinda hard) and have them drag you through the door. • Development Complexity: Games like Sky are really complex, with lots of interconnected systems. Even small changes can sometimes cause unexpected problems.

• Resource Constraints: Developers have limited time and resources. They focus on fixing the most critical bugs but can’t always catch every issue before the game goes live.

Even with these challenges, beta testing helps fix a lot of issues before the game is released to everyone . Player feedback is crucial for further improvements, so reporting any bugs you find is really helpful, you can always report bugs you find in #report-a-live-bug

I agree with the points, and it is exactly the reason why they shouldn’t have spread their resources thin by expanding to various other platforms. I do enjoy playing on PC and I feel it was long overdue, but in hopes of racking in more players, the quality got affected and well even people who have been here since the beginning and buying every cosmetic, no matter how inflated the price (mind you we can get a full Elden Ring DLC for the price of few cosmetics they are asking for), are losing their will to come online or simply not having fun at all.

I wish for Sky to be one of those OG games, like how people still play AoE 2, even after 22+ years of release. Ahhhhhhh, that could be, but I have double checked my network and it is working fine with no visible lag on other spheres. And even my friends are facing issue of delays while buring the plants at Forest and Sanctuary, like a clear 2-4 seconds of delay before the plant starts burning.

If you checked your connection on speedtest.net and your pig is below (faster) than 30ms while your download speed is higher than 30kbps, there could be another explanation: as per my few years of experience before big game updates (as it is announced in #news ) servers can arrange more beans than usual which can result in occasional lags as well

never heard about any ads in SKY, so I guess it's from something else on your device, and the turning off could be your phone's overheating protection (charging does heat your device up, and playing SKY also does bc the game needs lots of resources, so doing both together might trigger it to turn the app off for your phone's saftey. You can check the battery temp with apps like Cool Tool)

Yeah, your progress will be fine as it's saved on TGC servers and not on your local device. Also, I recommend deleting this photo as it contains sensitive info (email)

Do you have your sky ID or a receipt of a purchase you made with your old sky account?

If you have either of those things, you can contact support to retrieve your account.

Hopefully you wont. Just report the issue (that shouldnt be a problem, you don't need your Sky ID for that)

I suggest the first thing you do once you are back to get your ID, and copy it for safe keeping, with the steps Ari already told you (Sky Settings > Account > Account Info)

And try to create another method to log in.

Probably saturated is the default setting and natural adds an overlay in - ironically - unnatural way. I'm happy you can play Sky fully again

It's not really tgc issue, this is on motorolas head for not supporting vulkan drivers that's needed for a few games including sky

Unfortunately vulkan is a technology needed for graphics and I don't think Devs will find a way for the game to work without it, as graphics are a very important part of the game, as well as for it to properly work. Perhaps you can contact Motorola instead, as a consumer affected by the lack of Vulkan drivers.
