Collab seasonal spirits can return same as normal seasonal spirits. Take TLP for example

This is not a fact, but I'm talking about what I've noticed, it's because all those props are too close together. It's happened to me, however, if I put the new prop far from the other items, or far from where I initially wanted to place it, it wouldn't reach the limit, but just a tiny amount of space would be taken instead.
It happens specially with props under the "large" category, if you place them too close to each other, it's very likely you reach the limit with just a couple of items. You can check by putting four blocks all very far from each other, you'll see it won't reach full capacity, but then if you place the four over each other, it'll get filled.
As aforementioned, not a fact as there's no info from TGC, but what I've noticed while decorating my nest.

You can't put shared spaces near to social light spots. I've heard some people have been able to put them high up and place the props upside down. That's kind of a workaround, but I don't think you'll find a tutorial on how to put a ss directly on the table as it is not possible. I suggest that if you're ever in grandma and see another player in a shared space, join them and follow the ss creator so that you can see the shared space next time you're there.

I've not been dping them too much myself but- I recently tried and the earth trial and air trial ones should still work. Can't tell you for fire trial though I've never even done those skips successfully HAHA

i'm guessing it happens in the grandma area - that means two players have unlocked the hole to the underground cavern, all players do the emote when that happens which i'm assuming is a bug
