hi guys i went onto sky beta and i accepted this girl's friend request and we just automatically traded. But when she offered her candle to other people they rejected her. Im not a beta tester, but I know a lotta friends who are (most are good testers, some are really not) , and I just wanna get this off my chest,

why do some testers only open beta app twice, in a span of months? I mean, its beta, its supposed to be tested, you should look for bugs, look for nooks and crannies of the upcoming event, etc. And will it be rude if i say to aspiring or already testers, that it's supposed to be tested for bugs (and report it) glitches, and upcoming events, not just for show off, early access of items and not for display on your phone and not even test out what's on patch update notes.

I really couldn't tell you since everyone's motivation for playing beta is different. I do try to get on and test every update at minimum and am active when I can be outside of the updates too. some people could be busy because of work or school. or live takes up the only free time they had. there could be any number of reasons. But I think the new invite wave system is trying to help increase the number of active players again so hopefully it does help

Guys a question: krilltjin said that already beta tester iOS are ok, but we need to get the role for future update anyway... so I’m a beta since a year now, always active, do I need the link again to play future update or not? IAPs dont' cost real money in beta so they disabled candle packs to encourage us to actually play to test things. imagine how many people would just "buy" infinite free candles and do exactly what stiles was concerned about and never log in cuz they can buy things with no work the new daily light system especially requires us to run for candles

they didn't remove the ping roles if you already had them you have to remove those yourself if you don't want to be pinged anymore. Ktjn mentioned signing up for a beta updates role if you're already an active tester so you know when there are updates that need to be tested. you could technically remove your beta invites ping role if you want to once you're in beta if you plan on being active.
Owl I think as long as you're updating somewhat regularly and logging in every few updates you should be ok. "Missing a few updates for any reason will not cause you to be removed from the program." if you ever wanna be dragged for a realm or two (that's about my max I can do sorry) you can always dm me for a ride even if you're afk

yeah for ios as long as you're active you won't be removed from the program anymore. google just doesn't have a way to remove inactive people easily so android will stay until they manually leave on their own.

I use both android and ios. they each have their share of pros and cons I wouldn’t say one is inherantly better than the other. it looks like this new system will be better at keeping active testers in the system even if google’s unique way of handling beta means inactive ones sit there as well. At least we know they won’t be taking up spots for other newer active testers from this!

go to #beta-bugs-ios or #beta-bugs-android depending on what kind of device you have and follow the instructions at the bottom to submit a bug report. it tells the developers that your game is crashing when you open the shop and gives them your device info so they can figure out why the crash is happening and try to fix it

As the #beta-faq states, 999 hearts is not a placeholder price... I already suggested for it to be AC instead of hearts. Months later, it's still hearts. I don't think that will ever change.

I guess one could argue that its easier to get ac than hearts, as you can get 15 ac a week, while how many hearts you get a week varies.

only 200 days of trading or earning 5 hearts a day without spending a single one to get 999 hearts (vs 455 days for 999 AC) that does require consistently getting 5 hearts a day though and heart trades are already heavily discouraged. and I doubt anyone wants to be as crazy as me having enough people in their constellation to get 5 hearts from light pieces alone.

I’d say spend them elsewhere! if you plan on sticking around long enough for invisicape to go live then you’re probably sticking around long enough to earn the hearts back again after it hits live too. and in the meantime you’ll have other cool cosmetics to wear while you wait

uh it’s not a locked channel so it’s a discord issue not a missing role or permissions. did they accidentally hide the channel? you can hide muted channels in the server settings so if they accidentally muted and hid it, then it won’t show for them.

We want to ensure that people participate in the discord community before scooping up the invite link, since doing things like give feedback and reporting issues is an integral part of the beta process.

It means you must at least be active in the discord. Beta is for testing and reporting bugs, errors and give feedback. If you don't meet the threshold, you won't see that channel. There are settings in Discord to restrict channels by certain criteria/roles/users. Very low just means they aren't expecting you to post 10000 messages before seeing it or being part of the server for months.

I think it makes mire sense that the invisible cape costs hearts instead of ascended candles. Invisible cape is like ultimate cape for veterans. Being a veteran means you have progressed in the game a lot. You might even have completed all Constellations and made a lot of friends. If such hearts are easier to come by. This means you can possibly save up more hearts in a week than ascended candles. Ive been playing sky for 4 only months and i can currently get more hearts than ascended candles in a week. I think it is not a stretch to say that people who have been playing sky much longer get more or have at least accumulated a lot of hearts. Double hearts events, meditation quests, boats, shrines, seasonal quests, and gifts from friends are also ways on how to get hearts. Sadly, ascended candles can be only gained by going to eden. In the long run, i think hearts make more sense. If ever the invisible cape goes live, i hope tgc wont change the current way. Also, i have an addiction to resize potions and rainbows 😂😂

My main problem with Vault is that it’s mainly a ‘passive’ level for me at least. I collect the wax, then wait a lot, collect, then wait a lot. It’s really nice aesthetically and the music is one of my favourites but watching the cutscenes every time i use the elevator is not too entertaining, and without that it’s not too entertaining either.. It might be just me tho.

I made a lot of friends while taking the elevator in Vault during my half-moff time (when I didn’t know about rocket glitch). Since there’s a lot of waiting in between, I just spammed emotes and had fun with strangers, and we ended up adding each other when we reached the top. But since beta is empty it’s another kind of experience.

And surprisingly those friends I added in Vault ended up being among my best friends in Sky

I was introduced to rocket at my third week there i think and it is more like a playground to practice glitches, tricks and shortcuts at this point to keep me occupied than what the original purpose should be. Cakes definitely helped to make it more inviting, but from the moment you have a fast way out I think most players will and still go on the ‘easy’ way, unlike with the 8 player puzzle. (Which might not be too appealing either with the chevrons atm.) As i heard the purpose of Vault was to slow down but is that worth it?

I have literally never rocketed through Vault. It just takes away the whole idea of it, even if it's a bit boring and slow sometimes when you just want to get the dailies done.

For the friends I’ve made through Vault during the slow-down, I’d say yes it’s definitely worth it. And I just appreciate Vault a lot in the beauty of itself all the soothing vibe, the calmness and the music. I mean, doing it repeatedly could be tiring and time-consuming if it’s purely for the purpose of cr. But Vault is beautiful to me the way it is, and it’s beautiful because it’s slow.

Even on beta I managed to meet a stranger in Vault during cr, and we enjoyed swinging for a good 5 minutes and ended up adding each other too. It’s just quite a special and magical realm to me

Like i know how it should be and what should i do and feel in Vault but for me it's just not there, not after doing it 100x times. Most of my memorable stranger moment were in wasteland instead

I do get a random urge every now and then to go through Vault the normal way, slow down and actually appreciate that realm for what it is, and I feel like if I had to go through it the regular way more often, I wouldn’t appreciate it as much. But what I really wanted to say is with the added extra wax vault became a pretty fast realm to get a nice amount, if you use glitches. Which i believe is not a rare thing there, also again, not aligned with the purpose of the place. if it was engaging enough for me to not use those methods I wouldn't.

Since they updated the spell names, they seem to use the term "prop" for items like the swing, seesaw, chair, bonfire, and such. So I think props are mostly the items that players wear on their backs (which are technically still wearing since you carry it around with you). I guess we'll see once it's out for testing though. I would like to have some more functional items that aren't instruments. I really liked the lantern that players could carry, even though I didn't buy it, some similar things would be neat

For the new season, before it gets released to beta, I have a suggestion and feedback. There should be a cozy place like in season of dreams, the hot spa. The new place could be a beaver dam in a lake by the big tree, where kids can jump on driftwood, which could be a challenge/quest and stand on the dam. If there was going to be a new area, it could be below the tree, like the roots, or some caves where the background music stops and people can play music and can mask the walking and calls/chirps and other noisy and annoying sounds. There should be minigames for other people so they can play around, like children, kinda like the final or second final quest of season of dreams, incase if people get bored, which can happen a lot. The cutscenes should let you move around, so you can see the cutscene play in different camera angles, and if the cutscenes could be played again (and skipped) that would be cool too, since the cutscenes always makes everything feel trapped! Make the new non quest cutscenes skippable! Also make it so people can disable chirps/calls. The flashing lights hurts a lot to some people (and the flash to white). Improve hide and seek! Make hide and seek playable in the new area, since it's rigged! Some people use play dead to cheat in hide and seek. Sorry it's a bit big!

Invite wave cycles we know of are a thing of the past. Periodically, they will remove inactive iOS players from Testflight and do an invite wave when they need more testers. There are clarifications in this channel's pins also.

Season of prophecy started and we didn't have a cutscene yet, so if you touched the ground in home, the game would try to load a cutscene not in the game and crash... Hence, the floor is lava. If you didn't touch the floor and went into a realm, you could still play.

basically, the intro to the season activated too early. the game didn't have any code for the season, so it crashed upon playing the cutscene. if you flew right when you started the game, and into a portal, you wouldn't crash. uzephi nyoom

If you mean this.. TGC usually put things to the beta even if it came to double-check. They try to add new things and from all old ideas. Like the winter season which came to the sky light awaits prior to global launch. It was brought back to the beta with a new name, season of rhythm. They bring stuffs to beta to make sure it doesn't cause much problems when it comes to live. Who knows, what old stuffs they might bring back

i'm so sorry if this has been discussed/asked before but i needed confirmation regarding ios testing.

my understanding of beta access was every start of a season a new wave of testers are brought in fresh from the invited and wiped after season ends
but now that i've participated in beta testing that seems to not be the issue.
a new season is coming and my testflight says expires within 71 days, and with the new announcement in #beta-faq, does that mean i don't really have to apply for the invites anymore as long as i stay active ?
