I'm not sure of the context so of course it's hard for me to say, but I can tell you that Daylight Prairie in Chinese gets translated to Yunno

edit: the in-game translator is slightly different, but Google Translate translates Chinese Daylight Prairie as "Uno". The Chinese name starts with "yun" so it's pretty likely that the literalized name could come out in English as Yuno, Yunno, etc.

I’m disappointed that we won’t get the visual for the 11th wedge in live when it’s available for some of us when the fire trial goes live. My 9th and 10th wedge get were some of the BIG milestones for me in game. I took so many pics and was so excited. And this one woulda been extra special cause of the mystery of how they will implement it. Now it’s kinda a big letdown.

But October came and went and neither my order being delivered to america, nor my order being delivered to mexico (which I paid $30 shipping fees for) were shipped. I have receieved zero updates since the mass email telling everyone the orders would all be shipped by the end of october. I emailed lil oreo and have gotten no response. I was hoping you would be able to tell me if all of the orders have been shipped and so there must have been a problem with mine? Or are they still shipping orders? Or do you have any knowledge of what's happening with the pins?

@analog citrus We understand that it will be disappointing that the cape design is not finished, we didn't plan for it to be delayed, but there are so many hours in a day and the team is made up of humans who need sleep and to spend time with their families. At the end of the day, we would have needed to spend more time we already did not have to remove Winged Light from the game, or remove Traveling Spirits from the schedule to delay achieving the 150th star to accommodate the delay in the visual-only representation. When we run out of time we have to prioritize things that impede the ability to play the game as expected over visual aspects.

it's not. i think ktjn said a while back that they push the updates at the same time, but depending on how long the wait time between sending the update to apple/google and actually releasing the update will determine which app gets it first.

androids will usually get live updates before ios. beta is the other way around

At the end of the day, Apple and Google are independent entities and conduct business in very different ways. They both have pros and cons for a developer when it comes to managing the games we release. No third party is perfect, but as long as the pros outweigh the cons, we do our best to accommodate.

I'm not sure if Google does the same but I know a part of Apple's release delay is because they check the update (and or game) for malware before releasing it. The app will not delete itself @autumn rose but to continue to update sky beta you need to have beta access. After each access wipe you will need to re-join the program to continue playing. If you do not the app will remain in its current version and you will no longer be able to play sky beta after its next forced update. When you enter the beta game on an outdated version with a forced update needed you will be prompted to update your game, something that can only be done with beta access.

Backreading a bit. It's entirely valid to feel loss and grieve over lost/missing/bugged items. Those feelings are valid, even the irrational ones.

What tends to cross the line are when we've set clear expectations well in advance, explained why things are the way they are and, honestly actively discourage people from testing if they are the type to get angry or frustrated by such situations, and people still put out demands for compensation, or become abusive or toxic about it. It's not meant to be a threat, but rather a disclaimer about the sometimes harsh realities of beta testing. The trade-off is early access, and the intrinsic value of being there when it first came out to test.

There will come a day when we do progress wipes, but it's not a small undertaking by any means, and will be communicated in advance so that people can coordinate connecting with one another afterwards, in the event the progress wipe does not keep the friend list intact. It isn't something we'd do to punish players or serve as some kind of reminder.

Regarding testing the 11th star, all of the tech parts have been ready and thoroughly tested for quite some time and you all weren't even aware of it. It's something that will be enabled in a future build when it's ready, along with the more unique versions for things like the belonging, bat, web, and earth capes. Most people won't even be eligible for it on Live when the time comes.

@pearl roost We usually force everyone to update to the latest Live version after roughly 24 hours, but sometimes it's a longer or shorter period of time. We do it manually to ensure people aren't locked out of the game while they wait for the patch to roll out to their region.

this...might actually be pretty useful in stormlock: you're able to keep running while deep calling by holding down the B button as you're moving, but you can also still press the R button while moving to activate any pop-up prompts that appear (e.g. burn plants or message shrine candles) -- thinking it might be possible to just keep giving light to statues while never breaking your deep call run

I finished fire trial quicker today. Only thing was that I reached the final checkpoint, but for some off reason my Sky kid decided to take an extra jump so I died, HOWEVER, when I made it there again the shrine was lit.

It seems to have taken me less than 30 minutes? That's acceptable, in my opinion. But I am still not optimistic for new players trying this one out. We will have to help our Live friends out! I also find this trial the most tiring for my eyes, what with all the flickering lights and effects.

Photosensitivity isn't about screen brightness, it's a much more complex situation than that. It's an accessibility issue, and not something that should be treated with a dismissive tone. That'd be like telling someone with a disability to not be disabled anymore. It's also something that can be really tricky to design around since the trigger is inconsistent on a person-to-person basis.

yeah for me it's certain types of motion and flashing and high contrast sometimes sets it off too (which lower brightness sadly does not change the contrast at all). I"m lucky it doesn't go into full blown seizures anymore but I love playing games so it makes me happy that TGC listens to my input too

I straight up can't do vault solo though because of the mantas flashes my whole screen quite a lot. and also being in home space whenever the clocks are going off (every 15 min but especially on the hour) is aaaahhhhh

Screen brightness actually is relevant for me - my devices are always at half brightness or less unless I have to turn it up (if I'm in full darkness I'll make it as low as possible, and that's still usually too bright).
Situations in games where it's extremely dark usually makes me choose between straining my eyes to see details or turning up brightness and having to take breaks due to the screen light... Fire trial is one such example
Rapid flickering or flashing also bothers me, but not to the extent that I know some other people experience

Catching the light is fine if I can chase it down on glide mode from a distance. If I have to get up close and flap after it, it can be a little rough

Carrying more than one prop at time may be possible in future but for now I have seen no mention of it. Perhaps list it as an idea in #wishlist-and-ideas-archived.

The bonfire ultimate gift will return some day. TGC does plan to bring back the ultimate gifts and pendants in some way. No timeline has been given though and the only other information we have is that they will not be purchasable for in game currency.

As for an item like the bonfire it may happen it may not. I'd personally love to see some more ultimate gifts and items with uses. Be sure to leave any ideas you have in #wishlist-and-ideas-archived but also remember there wont be duplicate items, it still has to be different to what we currently have at least in one major aspect.

I think the idea of the paywall would be to reduce candle run stresses more than keeping items pay only. At least to me I feel like the pass allows you to get the items early, reliably and at much less time needed than from the TS later which is value enough for me. Also the ultimate rewards and pendants which will never be purchasable for in game currency.

Also its still in very very early development in beta, there have been no changes to live and wont be for a while.

So I just did fire trial once again after the latest update. I really like the adjustments. The candle clutters are helpful, saves some frustration, while at the same time the trial still remains a challenge overall. With the dust bunnies’ frightening sounds and the darkness I can still imagine people getting lost in there for a pretty long time when they go in for the very first time.

After almost bricking my phone because I messed up with display resolution inside android system code I figured out that for android (at least my device) the in-game screenshots are downscaled to 0.75 coefficient. I.e. 1080 screen resolution results in the 810 screenshot resolution(1440p downgrades to 1080p). When that coefficient for ios is optimized for being twice than mine. It is 1.70...(more than one...upscaling!) if an iOS device has 1125p resolution, the screenshot will be 1920pixels wide even on the lowest performance mode in game. I don't know what is the reason here. The only explanation is that Android devices are still not optimized, sadly. I can't even turn on the third thunderbolt or 60fps despite the fact that other 3d games support high fps and high quality image on my device. I am also saying this to find confirmation for my theory of lack of optimization. Or is it just limited to my phone's abilities?

To my knowledge, Sky requires an unusually high amount of processing power for a 3D game to render the environment (especially the clouds ☁️). Other games may run at a higher fps on your device, but they likely have less complex processing needed to render everything.

TGC has been optimising Sky for android for as long as they've been developing for it, and they continue to optimise for it. Optimisation is an ongoing process that never 'finishes'.

The biggest reason Sky is so graphics heavy is the raymarching and immense amount of post processing that goes into rendering the environment, specifically the clouds.

Games like Dead Effect 2 can achieve 60fps because the graphics are fairly simplistic by comparison.

Iphone 12 with 5g plus graphic intense game may leads to overheat. And eventually lower the Soc's GPU and CPU frequency. That's a issue with apple's thermal design on iphone 12.

Another good thing , my friend is amazed with sky and is probably gonna keep playing it now ... lol another addicted player in the making

If I did get any problems with heat I have got phone coolers anyways which I’m using on my Xs max which keeps it cool and no lag ... I have a few backup coolers so it’s not a issue if heat problem happens

I did go in just now and noticed that from afar the entrance is a lot more visible. I think I just never saw that, because when I go to the office I just jump right up as soon as I have entered and turn left. Up close it's still a dark wall.

I don't think there is a specific pattern. The "sit with a stranger" is now often in Prairie instead of only in Vault.

Think it’s totally random. Sometimes there is 2 in a row then nothing for 3 days. I miss the colored light quests, we didn’t have one in a while did we?

Could be. The cyan light was a little tricky, and i dont remember that one ever came back as a quest. Green also can be missed if someone doesn’t know that they have to wait until it falls. But the others aren’t that hidden.

orange might've been a bit trickier for players with lower flap power who don't know to stop the rain, while purple is outright hidden away behind a two player door; i think overall, they were on the harder end of things to do

I think the coloured lights were not a challenge in any sense apart from knowing the location of them, that was the puzzle after all ... actually getting them was really not any trouble -even with no wings as their is somewhere to charge up near the ones that are highest up .... very pleasing to the eye though the lights .... I hope they keep that as a daily quest because it’s just nice to look at ... shipwreck red was awesome the way the light shines through windows ... I do enjoy getting them

There's no perfect criteria but its a mix of gifting candles and hearts, joining and leading for groups, sending constellation light (I think) and remaining active in doing the things. If you fill up the bar you become a sky shepherd

Ahh.. I hate it when we live players have to experience some bugs when the trials comes. Its like the beta players did not do their job and we live players becomes the tester as well.

From the 1st trial there are major bugs that irritates us and we have to expect it in fire trial. Its like we got grief by the bugs that constantly there. The trials should be bug free right? Because it has been tested by beta players.

Kay some bugs just aren't that easy to fix. TGC is a small indie game developer team of about 30-40 people and they have a LOT they're working on right now. Live definitely gets waaaaaay less bugs than beta but it's impossible for the game to be 100% bug free even live. They do try their best to put out the least amount of bugs possible
