it's the one on the left of the island (while facing the questgiver.) past the weird statue things where the hidden in plain sight bell is, and then look left (maybe go a bit more left) and there's a big hole in the island.
you can also go through the jellyfish cavern (not the spirit, the one with the waterfalls and the other bell lol) and there will be an entrance from somewhere there.

For what it's worth, I waited to purchase the ultimates until they were officially available, got both of them without the glitch, and I haven't gotten any random seasonal hearts. So it seems like the only people getting it so far are the ones who purchased the bugged item to begin with

I used to buy "null" and couldn't get a handpan, but due to a strange phenomenon the guide constellation advanced and I was able to buy Mantascape. So far I have been able to use both items without problems. It's a bit scary to think about when these are bugs. 😂

think ive found a bug but yet to confirm because I have to buy tiny spells again. I used a tiny spell while wearing chibi mask and got into a precious tiny chibi. Right after i got krilled with wings flying everywhere and the tiny spell timer hadnt finished yet :c but i got back to chibi size while being grey kid, went to light myself and I remained a chibi instead of being tiny again :c if anyone can confirm because it'll be a couple of days before i get enough candles for new tiny spells :c

I think how it worked was this:

People who purchased the null item and then repurchased the handpan when it was officially available got 3 hearts compensation for having purchased the same item twice
-
People who purchased the null item and then did not repurchase the handpan afterwards had the instrument added to their closet since they had spent their hearts on the null item, but did not receive any compensation hearts because they didn't make a duplicate purchase
So whether or not you had enough seasonal hearts to purchase the cape after that would have depended on if you bothered to grind enough candles for the rest of the season

Hey everyone, I’m not sure if anyone else feels this way but I’d really like to see bi-weekly or even monthly design notes from the team to show us what they’re working on? With a gigantic spoiler tag of course I just really miss the live-streams and feeling like there are great things happening in the background. Recently I feel like communication is lacking a little and we aren’t really kept in the loop in terms of where the direction of this game is heading. Feeling a little left out in the cold I guess you could say. I really appreciate ktjn chiming in and giving us glimpses of what’s going on but it would be nice to know some of the difficulties the developers and design team are facing and how they plan on overcoming them, sneak peaks of what the team are working on outside of new seasons? Everything is so secretive at the moment I guess for good intentions. I just wish things were a bit more open.

Azaura, I don't think they have ever done that before, though? Partly because it can potentially lead to expectations that cannot be met, like with some of the things we test in beta that never make it to Live (coughinvisicapecough). And partly because beta is basically preview mode for new things. I don't think any gaming company reveals what they are working on until they are close to releasing it. The streams were mostly about things already in the game, with specific focus on certain topics.

In previous live streams they introduced the new seasons, if I recall correctly they did this for lightseekers and season of belonging where they went through the spirit designs and layout choices and laid out the limitations they encountered when trying to implement new content. They certainly had done it before and I don’t think it is in anyway harmful to let us in on updates that they know for sure are high up on the priority list and will end up in the game. I’m not talking about letting us in on everything but it would be nice to be kept in the “know”

We had two bigger Seasonally-oriented livestreams with concept art and whatnot, but as the season structure changed, they are fewer and further between. The Rhythm one was postponed for a different stream, and ultimately cancelled after going remote.
Some of it's logistics, some tech. For example our streaming rig and everything is still in the office collecting dust.

Sorry but live streams weren’t my main point. I only brought that up because someone thought they weren’t touched upon previously. My initial thought was the introduction of design notes similar to a blog post just highlighting the main things the team are looking into for the month. Nothing extensive or highly detailed just something that keeps us updated. I understand that live streams are hard to organise and due to our current climate it’s not something I expect. A majority of us feel like things are very hidden and again probably for good reasons but I don’t think it would be hard to keep us players more informed on what’s to come, what to look forward to outside of upcoming seasons.

The hearts were given to 651 beta players who met certain criteria, I believe those who spent all 6 hearts buying the handpan twice. Those who unlocked the null item once, should now correctly have the handpan in their inventory. We didn't give the manta cape out to anyone.

I give as much dev info as I'm allowed to. Most development goes into seasonal content which we don't preview early. Everything else is polish of existing systems or boring bug fixes and optimization improvements. Sometimes there just isn't a lot to discuss openly during longer development cycles. The time frame you're referring to when we were more communicative had 6 week season cycles, now they are 10. This gives us more time to polish content, bring more content per season, have more robust events, and most important, let our dev teams have some much deserved rest instead of extended crunch/working tons of overtime to keep the same pace.
The reality is players will consume content much faster than it is humanly possible to produce it, and will inevitably lead to times of dead space and silence.

Even if it's mundane, I think it's nice to hear about game problems and what the developers have done or are doing to address those problems. Just like a short summary of how things are going or where troubles are being experienced. That's what I mean by "developer update". I've seen many other games do similar updates that aren't necessarily about new content.
I'm going to compare you guys to a larger company, but on League of Legends website in their news section they have a dev section where the developers just share their thoughts about things with the players.
Not everybody reads those articles, but for those interested it's really nice, is what I'm trying to say.

The problem was that it came out of nowhere and there should and still needs to be further explanation as to why you arrived to that point

I absolutely empathize with what you're asking for, and we do our best to deliver, but I need you all to understand what the level of request you're making is not something we can consistently deliver on. It is better to be up front and explain this is not feasible right now, especially under our current working situation, than make a promise we cannot keep and ultimately be a disappointment.

I think the best way of explaining (my perspective on) it ktjn is that you give us the micros of what's going on, when a lot of people want to know the "overall plan" or macros of what's going on. The "grand strategy" of Sky. We can observe things like the season format changing and changes happening from update to update, but we're left in the dark for what's to come, other than knowing there will be a new season in X amount of days. That's my main gripe anyways. Some things we know can't be shared, but it would be nice to know "the grand vision" for Sky. I don't really want to hear promises, just ideals. Nice things politicians say to get people to vote for them, ya feel?

Traveling spirits are random, I'm not entirely sure the method the design team uses to choose. We usually put together a couple months worth of the schedule together in advance. This allows us to add newer seasons' spirits into the rotation as seasons conclude and become eligible as Traveling Spirits, we also need to create things like assets for social media and whatnot.

We absolutely know these interviews and articles come out. Press typically isn't overlapped with community spaces though. They're usually treated as marketing tools as well as developer insight. The target audiences are people that aren't highly engaged/invested in the day-to-day happenings of the player base.
I can't think of a game where those kinds of news articles are shared in community spaces by the developer. The links are usually shared by players themselves.

I think TGC has said that Sanctuary includes elements from Aviary and is as close as they could get with the current game engine (?). Even that is already taxing on some devices, unfortunately.

Well, as Joe AKA Kay said, it’s possible your account was already connected to Google when you launched it. Only way to find out is to reinstall the app and play again.

Of the 7000 Google testers we added, it's only impacting a small number so it's not a catastrophic setback for our testing purposes. Unfortunately that also probably a contributing factor for Google not getting back to us on why this is happening in the first place.
So, it seems like at this point if it hasn't been fixed, it's not likely going to be. It sucks for the people who were affected by it, but all we can hope for I think, is that when they do the next access wipe and send out new invites, hopefully it will let you download the app without these issues if you're able to get in again

Wanted to pop in about the "2 years of support" for Sky from that press interview, since it's being taken a little out of context.
We'll support the game as long as there are players who support it. Two years is more about how far we have content planned in advance. We are not going to just shut the game down one day in 2022.

It’s been so long since I did the dragon mask spirit so I dunno if it’s always been like that, but the camera is particularly annoying with this spirit? Even just standing and facing the starting position, the camera decides that no, the spirit should be to the right of you.

@fair current Ohhhhhhh sorry I misread your problem, I don’t think it’s quite possible to suddenly not support your device if you’ve already downloaded it and played it, if that’s the case check whether or not your storage is full, if that’s not the case you can also check through the pins in #beta-discussion-android to see if there’s a description that better matches your problem, if there’s none I think the best thing to do will be to contact a staff member or a mod? (Sorry I’ve never had to contact staff for help so I dunno who you should ask for help)

There is a known issue with Google Play sometimes showing devices as not compatible when they really are. Give the following steps a shot:
-Force close all applications
-Pull down the notification bar on your Android device and hit the gear-shaped settings icon, or find “Settings” in the application tray.
-Navigate to Apps, or App Manager.
-Scroll down and find Google Play Store.
-Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
-Repeat steps for** Google Play Games** and Google Play Services
-Power your device completely down (do not hit the Restart button)
-BE SURE TO LINK YOUR SKY ACCOUNT TO GOOGLE TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS
-Launch Google Play Store and try reinstalling/updating Sky
-If it still shows up incompatible, close the App Store again and wait a little while before checking back.

@dense holly what I meant is that the invites are being reserved so fast that's there's a chance that what you got was an error whilst the bot mistaking that you got the last invite (but someone else already got it first)
the reason why it says you're in is because it "accepted you" before it realizes it got an error. But then again, that is one of the chances on what your problem is. You could also follow instructions sent in #beta-faq and see if something works out
just wait for the next roll of invites, the beta isn't anything else other than play testing and bug catching

The access wipe probably won't happen until Sanctuary is almost over in live, they don't usually start testing content for the next season right away, they're still making fixes and stuff to some of the current seasonal content
They'll post in #beta-announcements when they plan on doing the next wipe when they're ready, so until then just keep looking for bugs and doing whatever

You actually don’t need to go to Eden to be capeless, the glitch relies on the special sequence that happens when you die outside of the orbit sequence

I remember reading that If you didn’t buy wing buffs they gift you a star anyways so yeah ?(idk either)
But the thing is that is different is in Eden you’re gives that star in orbit, when you die outside of Eden and in the realms, like say getting krilled one too many times or several hours in the rain the rebirth sequence is at home space instead (hope that made sense)

I think Newbie bug is not just a problem of the internet connection. I do candle run in all the areas in beta with my friends everyday and I get the bug every 10 minutes during that time. I swear.

@frozen marsh @rugged karma It’s not that I don’t consider it a serious issue per se, it’s just that I think it may not be related to the game but rather to players’ internet connection, which isn’t something TGC can do anything about. But do report it anyway. The more info the devs have, the better.
My theory is that the servers just aren’t able to process the information for a whole group at the same time, or it is delayed for some members. But it has more to do with individual internet connection and how data information packages move through hubs throughout the world.
There’s a lot to unpack as you move through the realms: your character’s outfit and movements, the realms landscape and possible weather conditions, then darkness and candles features, as well as all your friends’ outfits etc.

The shepherd system seems like it would mostly just be a way to try to help new players by pointing out older players who might be helpful (since the game can be kind of confusing when you're figuring everything out on your own). But it's been in beta only for a long time now, it may not ever make it to the live version

Because that particular spirit's friendship tree is small, it's easy to add other items and not mess up UI or tree logic for testing purposes/proof of concept. The invisible cape was kind of abandoned/shelved for later development so it's turned into a Beta easter egg.

the actual game code for size is a range -2.000 up to +2.000, there are roughly 4000 different heights in sky, but there are spells that can alter height as well as scale temporarily, or you can use a resize potion to permanently change your height.

resize potions are random, you have a 50/50 chance to be taller or shorter each time you use one. The results of a previous potion do not influence the results of subsequent uses of resize potions. and you have a 1 in 4000 chance to get the exact height you're looking for.

Design-wise, it's intentional that you cannot pick your exact height. Resize potions were meant to be a fun thing to change your appearance up from time to time, but players treat them like an alternate means to choosing exact height which goes directly against the design team's goals.

The chart is pretty easy to find if you look up “sky children of the light height chart” or I could send it to you if you’d like. The height range upon account creation is considerably smaller. Resize potions offer more extreme options than were available when the game launched. The random factor as well as a limit on how many resize potion can be obtained at any given time was the compromise between being unable to change your height for any reason ever (chibi mask notwithstanding) and the demand to be able to pick your exact height. The design team is pretty adamant about not allowing players choose their exact height, the focus is meant to be on customizing your appearance with the cosmetic items you equip. There are interviews/Q&As with Jenova about player height available, if you wish to go digging for them. There's at least one discussion included in a livestream on one of our youtube channels.

Okay everyone just hear me out but 🥺 choosing where you want a house and stuff in the game, and there could be servers for timezones so that there wouldn't be too many houses in one place, and you could use candles to buy them or hearts 💕 and you could choose to put your house in any of the realms and there would be little housing districts 🥺🥺 and in hidden forest you could live in houses in the trees. And there would be a candle barrier so only you can enter your own house unless holding hands with a friend 🥺 and every time you open the app you start off at your actual home in the game, it would be sooo cute. You'd have a wardrobe too to be able to change before you go out 🥺

There's this fun little concept called feature creep. It's impossible to always have something be bigger and better than the thing before it. It will always be a balancing act of amazement and disappointment.
For Enchantment, folks were disappointed in the new area, but amazed by the transformation of the ark over the course of the season.
This season, folks are amazed by the sheer scale of the new area and disappointed in the treasure quests.
Some folks love it all, and others hate every last pixel.
If we missed the mark for you this time hopefully we'll knock it out of the park with future content.
All of this ignores just how much the game has grown and changed in the last year since the first season—which was basically 6 spirits, a handful of cosmetics and a short, simplified cutscene. Now seasons have tons of varied, complex cosmetics, multiple cutscenes, entirely new areas, growth and change within those areas over time as you, as players, make your mark on the world of Sky.

Pfft. Pants were a hit for Rhythm! I'd just like to say that looking at the new final cutscene, the bird swarm behind the Sanctuary entrance/ exit clouds now make sense! Recently spotted them by looking down from high up with a friend. We assumed they were just there for whatever reason but thought it wouldn't make sense to waste resources like that. Birds being there but not visible to anyone on the main island just doesn't make sense. It does now! You guys really do have a tendency of adding assets before they're viewable. May I know whether not there's any reason in particular to that?

If you look at the cosmetic design starting with belonging, youll see that a lot of the cosmetics are built to go with the season, as well as base game cosmetics and previous seasons. Lightseekers and gratitude have a bit of that. For rhythm theres none to be found. Its actually a very noticable shift in design philosophy, and the pants really show that off nicely. Compare the cargo pants and belonging pants to the rhythm ones
