Ohh I forgot to say what my favourite part of revival is! I really love the music tying in with the area transitions, thanks to some really cool, dedicated folks I've finally gathered enough snippets from the start->pre-quest3->post-quest3 to enjoy the mood shifts and I think it really highlights the way we're reviving the season!

That and hopeful is an absolute sweetheart

I don't mean it literally, but TGC does feel very disconnected from its players at times. Not the new season necessarily, but just making everything astronomically expensive, trying to force social interaction with certain new functions and taking away things that help solo players, event tokens as a "solution" to the grinding issue, almost zero replayability atp, the same mind-numbing quests every single day, lower quality cosmetics, season quests are being more and more frequently boring, overusing the crowd server function, etc. I've been playing since the belonging and I have happily completed every season up until around Aurora. after that, things got a little bit boring, and while this new season is cool, I lost motivation pretty quickly. There are many more reasons, but yeah. I won't elaborate further because I do have to go to work, unfortunately, but I'd be happy to discuss this later

Not to mention the ever-climbing IAP prices that don't seem to match the item quality. This is all personal opinion of course, but I do know plenty of players, veterans and new alike, who share my opinions.

While I admit Sky has changed a fair bit in the last year or so, TGC has been experimenting with many different things gameplay-wise.

I do wholeheartedly believe that the new features are meant to be an incentive for more interactions, but most of these can be done solo (not including passage atm):

• shared space spells
• memory candles
• reworked friend constellation
• a camera

While the beginning of EC was a hassle for some, i do feel like they have been improving the feature a lot: its beginning to become more consistent, its easy and fast to find and it replaces IGC for candles, which takes the load off candle running a whole lot.

IAP prices have changed, but this is not because TGC decided on it. Platform taxes are the cause, and that’s why its different depending on the region you’re in

As far as quests go: in this season, if we did the quests really early on, they were very, very, very unfinished.

I recently did the quests again on a throwaway account and I can tell you these improved so much, like actually. I’d be more than happy to send them in dm, btw.

Talking about liking cosmetics, it’s always a very very personal thing however keeping in mind the stories of the season, they do always felt fitting (even though I didn’t like all of them). For this season, I really do. It’s both an extension to the basegame (shoes!) and homages to past seasons

(Btw, Lightseekers didn’t even have quests) Sky is changing, the storyline is too, and that’s not for everyone - which is valid

I think my issue with event currency is that it feels like just another collecting-chore. I wish they'd create fun mini games (not hide n seek) such as tag, puzzle games, etc. to earn at least some of the currency. or fun team games. or just. SOMETHING yk?

I have a question though, one of your concerns is them making us socialise more and it's hard for solo players, but then you want them to have social events that we collect tickets from? Sunlight was good for with friends or as a solo player. I don't understand disliking the social aspect but wanting more of it?

Honestly I kind of prefer the picking up event currencies as it's simple and it takes less time out of my day, not everyone has over 2 hours to spend on a game, I think picking event currency just like that is the middle ground for everyone, it's not the best but it's not the worst either

People would still be complaining about events taking a lot of candles out of you if the EC didnt exist and they'd be pushed to candle run even more

One thing I will say is I disagree with cosmetics not being better, even with style we've had the opportunity to play around with old cosmetics and you can see a clear difference between the modelling/design skill back then vs today - the newer items might not be your cup of tea and hopefully there'll be something that comes around soon you enjoy, but cosmetic quality today is heaps better than a few years ago.

It's also pretty evident in this season actually, the quality of the capes inspired by rhythm and gratitude especially are chefs kiss in comparison to their counterparts from those seasons (not that I don't love juggler cape and all that)

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the free items coming on next season pass. Bruh, I’ve been playing from gratitude and just 2 free items where enough. Nowadays there’s traveling spirits that gives you a whole seasonal spirit tree. And events giving you variety of very cool cosmetics for tickets. There’s also a big Halloween event coming with even more items.

Hey PC beta folks, I just got a question and I know my laptop is WELL over enough the minimum requirements but the suspense is killing me as to how well it can really run Sky once the PC demo and, eventually, the official release comes out. For starters, here are my specs:

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz 2.69 GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)

All I want to my answer really is if my PC will heat up a lot, how many frames it is capable of running it at (this might be fairly obvious but I'm just curious.) and last but not least, the last question I have is are the controls hard to use or take some getting used to? Thanks! If you need a little more information please let me know and I'll add it to the list.

As of right now festival tech is not implemented into the season of revival's Aviary village. Festival tech was shown in the trailer however the season is a lot different to how it was shown in the trailer as it was very WIP, we can assume festival tech will appear later in the test cycle but as of right now we can't officially state whether festival tech will be implemented but many of us have sent feedback to hopefully see it come as a toggleable feature

Edit: unlit sky kids show up as normal in festival tech mode, the napkins/confetti are players in different instances.

The trailer was showing the final phase of an older version of the area(as in the form the village takes after all quests are completed) they probably also have other reasons as to changing it, we can still leave feedback so instead of being annoyed and stating it is bad, start conversation about how it can be improved and send you findings into feedback.

I'd also like to point out that we don't know what tgc was/is planning to put in the season, what they could have been working on in regards to the season may not be implemented yet due to issues we as players and testers aren't privy to

As far as I know, PC beta on steam doesn't have a page? People are sent codes that let's them download the beta
PC demo will be seperate from PC beta, I think demo will be on the actual sky page but as a demo obv, but your account will still be linked to your steam account and it will transfer the the official release once its out

Aviary seems to run on a similar system to homespace does in regards to that (because the constellation pad at the back also does night mode upon opening)

What i have found so far in PC demo:
The annoying candle bug is still happening (auto turns off candle as soon as you take it out).

Tutorial tells you to press X to forge candles but actual button is C.

You can relight candle cakes and candles even if you have collected them, just gives empty wax. So you wont know which candles you have already collected.

Some glow bois reappear when going back to butterfly realm even after collecting them.

Movement sensitivity is super high in maps.

Typically, from how we test things, we test 3 or so quests in the beginning and then we get more later on, so it's not uncommon for us to not get all the quests at once.

The timing between moments and aviary isn't that different from any other season and the testing for it is just the same, at the end of the first half of any season test period we always get the same "tgc should have postponed this" discussions but live usually react entirely differently gestures to shattering so I don't think it's an issue that the season is launching in live on the 16th

I will also say they mentioned in the blogpost that it's a multi-year thing so I don't think season of revival is the final product of aviary in any case, it's just the introduction to it - sounds like they really wanna make it a focus for events and the whole community hub thing we saw in the "in development" trailer

It's not likely they'll replace home at least not immediately - in the latest update we can see both home and aviary on the map and aviary doesn't have friend cons, only realm cons so my thinking is that home may become more of a private area or they may just keep it as it is for a gentle load into game rather than logging straight into a community hub

I agree! I think (totally guessing) they will phase out home slowly. We’ve seen them changing other areas in game to update and add. Think days of color area and days of summer area. They have more capacity and resources now then when they first started and I think they are wisely wanting to update and expand the overall feel of the game. Wild guessing but I think next year at this time everyone will see the Aviary as home anyway. I also hope they add in personal apartments we can decorate would be awesome. Especially when trying to film something or practice music.

It also bring a lot of problem, since like, it’s a separate server, we might get separate a lot from our friends. (Y’know the famous going back home from Concert and get this constant yellow bar, because we go back to the 8 players limits server). It’s just annoying, for me, to always have to join back your friends because of that and they merge to another server that is full. So, as I said, it’s the way I feel about it. I just like the basic home for how more private it is than joining a concert amount of peoples number home place🥲

I think the best idea would be to bring back the candle space from light awaits, it was a space where you could sit alone and light friends candles easily, as well as it was quite beautiful. It would be nice to have an alone space, I know they have the do not disturb spell but that still doesn’t stop people from coming to you, just warning them you want to be left alone. A private space would be best. I do think aviary as the new home space would be better though, more places to hang out, more space to roam, less wind walls, more things to look at, etc

I think aviary would not work much when launching the update on phones. The home island is probably the least preformance demanding area and makes sense for game starting here. Aviary village... I think it can work on PC but not other weaker devices. PlayStation can work with PC too.
I don't think it's possible in such short time to test this huge change before season starts (even if we get final seasonal quest update for live).
It's just my quessing as others theorize of aviarry village being replacement of home.

It is still a valid concern of them, as lately several lower-end devices have experienced more troubles running Sky!

For non-beta testers, pictures only show snippets of what’s being tested so coming from “Project Aviary”, it’s a logical concern.

However @mental solar if you’re curious, I think it’s safe to take a look at the beta bug reports! The only thing I’ve seen mentioned in chat is that the clouds were very pixelated, but I haven’t heard from people not being able to run the game (aviary specifically) because of their device

That's completely fair to think ! My phone gets hot playing the game too as of late, I have to use fan to cool it down so that it can also run frames better !
It might take longer to load in the game if Aviary were to become the new home, but it's definitely very light weight compared to a lot of the seasonal areas and even realms

the longer sky is out the better it can look, because technology advances. like seriously, new iphones can run Death Stranding and RE4R. For now the game runs a stable 60 fps on my 5 year old tablet, the performance improved drastically (at least for me)

I think we should have a similar system to Light Awaits, where there was a candle space and Aviary, but now there’s a home space and Aviary Village

Because, for me, the three levels of sky multiplayer are:

Solo- 8 player- megaserver

The difference between candle space and aviary is the jump between solo and 8 player.

So, home space would be the 8 player, and aviary would be the jump to megaservers.

Guyss I saw in the trailer that the color and aesthetic of the area has changed for the first 2-3 quests. Like when I saw them on yt, the area was bright and there were no light effects tbh. I still think they're still quite different, but that's just my opinion !
The crab cape was actually dark grey and didnt have bloom effect like the base game black cape (it also had crab wedges)
Dracula cape has a unique look that makes it look like a dracula coat
And the cobweb cape is transparent and has thicker lines than the green spider web cape

The mask definitely is new, it wasn't beta tested !

Oh we had a discussion about that in a server I'm in cause we couldn't really understand how aviary was gonna be a tutorial thing if it doesn't appear until after forest but we noticed the tutorial things focus mainly on communication and dress up so far - so it's like stuff that moths would probably be overwhelmed to learn super early on when they're navigating through realms but by forest it might feel like they're ready to find out how to place boats, changing up their cosmetics, etc.

I met a month old moth who never knew Wind Paths existed. So I can safely bet that moths will not know about aviary until they either log off and on again after Forest, or only after Eden. Most don’t even know that you can go home at any time or what home even is. I was so confused when I logged in the second day in sky and found myself at home. It seems Sky is protecting itself against making accidental skips. If you take a new player to the wind paths and attempt to take them to something like Vault, it’ll eject the player. They really thought of everything

As a moth myself I was used to toxicity in other games if you were new and didn't know how to do something. I was so used to it to the point that when I stared at another player at the two player butterfly door for well over 15 minutes without having the butterfly emote I logged off because I felt that I was honestly being judged for my inability to solve the puzzle. I didn't even acknowledge the spirits properly in my first playthrough besides Pointing Candlemaker, so I logged off ashamed I wasn't able to help that player and I was off for one day and a half because I was still used to the toxicity that arose from my past experiences in other not-so-beginner-friendly games. It wasn't until the next time I logged in I had met my first Sky friend who shaped me into the person that I am today. Fully fledged now, I can't say enough how much it meant to me to realize there is a positive community out there that's for everyone.

In the #beta-faq you can get yourself the “beta invites”-role. If you have that role, you will be pinged whenever a new invite wave happens!

If you’re on iOS, you need to install TestFlight too, but the beta only opens up sporadically so at the moment it’s not possible to get in!
