There is currently an issue with the YouTube information that is sent in the websocket payload.

This is currently what the payload looks like:

What's missing from this is the UserID, which is essential for distinguishing different users with the same username (as they are not unique on YouTube)

This means that bot integrations can potentially direct a command at the wrong person if they happen to share the same name.

Please update the websocket & API endpoints to include this information as it will solve many problems for a lot of users 🙏

Got a question myself, is there a way to influence layouts with channel point redeems? I feel this may be a methodology thing and I'm unsure as to how to achieve it. An example would be a channel redeem on Twitch called 'Red', and one called 'Blue', for x points. If someone were to redeem Red, it would switch to that colour, either by swapping an image, changing a layer's visbility, or swapping layout entirely. Am I chasing my tail with this, or is there a way to efficiently implement this?

have you tried sending a test? leave obs open, go to your dashboard, then to the alerts. open the alert you linked, then push "emulate" at the bottom. that will send a test to your OBS and youll see it pop up. by the way, in OBS, make sure on your alert sources properties, you have "control sound via OBS" selected. this will create an additional sound source with a slider, this way the sounds get played on your stream as well

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

sure can. youll just need 2 alert sources. one for your twitch account, one for your youtube account. the dashboard will also let you copy it over to the other account if you want to keep them the same.

I believe the way it was added was modifying/replacing OBS files, and in order to make SE.Live compatible with OBS 28 (and the new file integrity checker) that couldn't be done anymore. You could add a custom dock that has the overlay editor page in it, but that's the only way I can think of to do it currently.

just came across your post while searching for something else. 2 different things. the loyalty points in streamelements arent the same as channel points on twitch, so they wont be listed the same, they may act the same, but theyre separate systems. your viewers can access their SE points by typing !points in the chat, you can also link them to the store/leaderboard, and also there is a leaderboard extension you can add to your profile page on twitch. the Twitch channel points you only have access to once you become an affiliate, and you manage those through your twitch dashboard. the streamelements loyalty points, you dont need to be an affiliate, so kinda gives you a leg up to have that for your viewers early on, then when you become an affiliate you can decide to keep those or have your channel use twitch's points. keep in mind you cannot export all your viewers points to twitch, so before you make that move, give your viewers enough notice to spend all their points before you switch.

Did you change the variations? To check this, go to your overlay editor, navigate to the Alertbox layer > Alerts (sub, tips, cheer, etc) > Variation settings at the bottom.
You'll need to adjust each individual variant as they are not changed by default.

streamelements doesnt do that itself. but you can use something like restream to do it. itll stream to 2 platforms for free

obs is already set up to connect to restream, you just need to create an account with them. then just like you connect to youtube, you do the same thing to connect to restream
