Whether mod is publicly visible in the workshop or not is irrelevant. You must read license, there is no alternative to not reading license. You accept the license when you attempt to use it. If you don't read license before accepting it then there's a much more serious problem here than the mod being visible or not. Technically you can't accept something without reading it but, you know.

Can someone help me with how come my publishing isn’t working anymore. Its just giving me an error with my project that I am trying to publish can not be found, I just edited it and my mod is on the work shop but its stating that it isn't. IDK what's going on and if I could get some help to why this happening and fix it that would be awesome.

If anyone ever haas issues with zombie spawning and is new to arma reforger tools in enfusion. Follow the video linked at the bottom. Most of it is becuase tutorials have you copy past all the components like the game mode. But when you do this due to it being a prefab it is uneditable. So no matter how many times you tick "AI Spawns" it wont change becuase its uneditable even though it lets you change boxes. You must break inheritance.

Or you could just test your scenario in the game, because scenario has AI Spawn flag, and your Play button in WB does not play Scenario
I think you can also go back to main menu in WB play mode and start scenario from there (untested)
Not sure if this is related but the spawn flag's are availible in WB as well.
At least when i check them it spawns ambient patrol etc.
Is there a best practice to enable a team of people to update one mod? If I understood the wiki correctly I'd just need a separate BI Account which I'd log into in Reforger and upload it then to the workshop, correct?
Depends mostly on the credits. If you want to be a team, make a new steam account, buy reforger, publish to workshop using that. Then invite all the individuals who shall have permission to update as contributors. This way the mod appears under the team name but you can all update. This is what I did for Everon Life in the past

I recently had to do a fresh install of windows and in doing so I lost all my files, how do I go about getting access to my mods again to update. (I know I lost al the raws for models and textures)
I tried to use the method that was mentioned above "changing the GUID of a blank project" but it did nothing, I must not have been doing it correctly.
I am trying to publish something and each time I get 524 error.
As I've read here it is a known bug, do you know any solutions/workaround?

As we have rule of "no depitcion of ongoing conflicts" you can make mods that represnt said factions but due to the ongoing war you can not use real unitmarkers insignias etc that would tie into real combat.
in same way as we dont allow the specific Z/+ etc markings related to Ukraine war but generic country factions can still be made.
Players will play with fictional factions just fine though.

PSA While Im pleased to report that there are also legit models in use in new mods, Warthunder and other game rips still keep popping up occasionally. Please spread the word that using ripped models will end up the mod and in worst case the whole modder/mod group getting banned.

This is something that might be resolved by a VPN or the DNS trick. I’ve noticed certain locations/ISPs/whatever just don’t work, in addition to the 120 second issue

any more methods of monetization would be helpful, the current rules make it basically impossible to monetize on anything related to Arma, and feels greedy and unnecessary. I have dumped 1000+ hours into my map, I make mods, and run servers, and get offers for things all the time that I cannot act on. I am reducing how many mods I make and may not make another map again, it is a curse.... something you have to keep dumping time into to maintain around BI's changes, but cant get paid a penny for.

One feels there has to be a model in there somewhere. Ark ascended has this interesting freemium model where the main part of the mod is free but you can upgrade it to get some better features etc. (Im not saying thats the model here. you have access to the samples. You can also measure things in workbench. You cannot extract models from the game

I want to remove the blacklist system, organize the arsenal, and add armored vehicles.
The problem is that when using the WCS_Arsenal file, the armored vehicles disappear. How can this be fixed?
Hey so i recently made my own faction and it works great, my issue however is that when i place a command tent or either vehicle depot and attempt to spawn a vehicle the entity browser is empty and so is the command tent for any buildables. And I do have my faction entity config in my SCR faction manager. What would cause my browser to be empty for both?

The select tool will start to throw an error after some couple 100 selected entities.

i do it through the heirarchy thats why i paste on same position and thats also why i can copy the entire thing at once
Yes it should work with the hierarchy, but the select tool doesn't.
Why past them at the same position?
The original map coordinates are saved for every entity, so even if you hit paste in the middle of the ocean, they will still all be placed at their original map coordinates.

i never bothered trying regular paste.
What does the console log say?
Try rebuilding the project so that the .gproj file is refreshed.
I've tried a total rebuild and interestingly the console log says zero about it what so ever

Check your folder permissions as well. You could also try temporarily moving your entire project/mods folder to a different location and creating a new one in its place.

The log shows the path: Z:/rbr mods/Projects/. Is your project actually located on a Z: drive? If it’s a network drive or an external disk, that is likely why the bundling fails.

How can I reduce the radio signal strength so that the red line of the capture base is smaller, since it's detecting three bases that are quite far away?

If you want a good place to start that’s somewhat easy to make a kharg island map would work the best. It basically would be like Arland/gogland

Just wanted to enquire here: is the only issue with IP rights violations specific to workshop items? If I have a way of depicting an asset/name that violates IP on my server without it being in the mod files, is that still an issue? (hypothetical here) let's say I have a mod that allows my players to place items and one of them "draws" say Mickey Mouse, is that a problem?
its a very wide hypothetical that is not so simple to answer

inspired, I believe it's allowed. Using the media's IP, for example an item called a "lightsaber", no, that's not allowed. Best overall the stay away from existing IP, and create your own. If taking inspiration, do so that does not copy 1:1 aspects from existing IP

Right struggled with 80mb upload yesterday. Should buy a shadow pc subscription so I can upload, or a vpn that might work. Oh that’s right I’ve done both. Neither have been successful.

It’s awesome your were doing that. But you’re also very correct in saying you shouldn’t have to provide that service. Though it is awesome to see the community doing what they can to help.

No point in doing anything if we can’t upload it, we’re not going to be wasting our time waiting for a response (let alone fix) for this issue from BI.
But by all means staff, continue to ignore the constant messages that are submitted to this channel and across the discord regarding this issue. It’s the sort of piss-poor response we’ve grown accustomed to at this point.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but by continuing to ignore the modding community and this elephant in the room, then we are naturally going to become more and more frustrated over time, and it’s been quite some time now.

It’s like another 6 months vs. 6 weeks is the difference between some projects totally failing, or revitalising
Creators win = BI win, and vice versa, it’s a pretty symbiotic relationship
I’m sure BI are super frustrated with it too, rightfully so, but it’s not what happens, it’s how it’s communicated that makes or breaks these things
There is some degree of sense as far as it being a low priority issue, when you consider Reforger is not a "mainline" game or whatever. But I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses for bad UX by choice.

Okay so I have uploaded it but after changing it a bit, now I get an error for having the GUID of "68E4012BB9E8C0BC 1" (the space and 1 included), which "68E4012BB9E8C0BC" is Arma Game...

It says that referenced dependency doesn't exist or isn't avaliable to be specific
Several months ago I broke up my larger mods into smaller ones so I could get around the upload issue, now I can't even update those smaller ones...
just done the same thing with my map, dragged out everything and pulling each file back in and uploading it

As with a3 and reforger people will probably stick to a3 until a4 is stable. Since allot of them never came over to reforger I doubt that with the reputation reforger has, will promote any confidence in a4
They will not fix it theyre just gonna release arma 4 as a excuse and break the workshop again
I swear some of you think BI intentionally ship broken things 🙈 - it's a small team doing big tasks and yeah it's been bumpy as hell but so was the release of A3, A4 will release, everyone will rag on it, buy it anyway and over time it'll get quality of life/stability until people switch to it mostly from A3 - it's the circle of Arma Life(TM).

a few months ago i was contacted regarding my mod where i had a image of something real on the image. i was told to change it otherwise the mod could not be published due to new rules stating that workshop posts cannot have images of real things on them
but over the past few months ive seen endless things like this

Arma 3 was stable after a few months.
1.6 demolished any momentum there was here
If reforger wasn’t on consoles it would be completely dead
Most of what’s left of A3 is MilSim, that really just became fully viable in the last year or so.
Extremely unstable PvP servers and lackluster building blocks have left a bad taste in many people’s mouthed though.

Bah, that's ok, I'll get my CI to just try again on repeat 
that is quite possibly the worst thing you can do
I don't think so; it takes at least 15 minutes to timeout. It takes about 3 minutes to upload. So every ~20 mins it tries again. My community is desperately trying to deploy a change that's kinda messing up our playerbase 🙂

If your mod is not frequently used then it is not cached in a CDN server near you and you download it straight from our dusty basement servers in mnisek (the last part is a joke)

You'd need to list your modlist, most likely there's a language file that's getting confused since that's the German localization for "Soviet Army". I get this when I run the game with COE2 installed sometimes

Confirmed success. For reference, I have never been able to upload from this PC with this particular terrain. ~20 mbps upload, 890mb total size. Took about 11 minutes, no errors.

PS5 has imposed limitations in terms of download speeds (limits are 1Gb every 5mins or similar.) Nothing to do with #enfusion_workshop - same limitations apply to XBOX

This isn’t just an issue with Xbox and PS5, on PC when a mod exceeds 3GB it takes too much to download. It doesn’t take 5 hours but it’s not normal for a 3GB mod to download from WS Steam in 1–2 minutes, whereas on PC it can sometimes take up to 10 minutes, depending on how bad the Workshop is.

i am in Europe on a 1Gb business line(guaranteed up down to 70%), the video posted above is me downloading while connected on wifi6 mesh network. I have always downloaded at these speeds, irrespective of download size
It might be a latency issue due to your proximity to the servers BI uses, this has already been discussed in relation to problems uploading mods to the Workshop which were resolved by using VPNs located near those servers. You might live closer to them and everything works fine for you, I live in Spain and am probably much further away.
Unlike steam workshop that uses the closest local mirror, bi’s workshop is hosted in cz, and it surely has less such mirrors spread across the globe, so that might be an issue

Actually for me this came up at the start of an OP. I had no idea, couldnt get rid of it and had to spend some time killing myself and respawning while holding other players up trying to get rid of it. It was actually quite frustrating... it's great to know that everyone reacts the opposite way and just labels people rather then hearing any concerns... no wonder it is "that" community.
It’s was more that it wasn’t immediately removed after April fools. We certainly found it tricky trying to figure out what was causing it, and it frustrated a lot of our players. They also made tickets about it in our community that drowned out more pressing issues that others had.
All for aprils fools though, but the point of AFD is that if you do an April fools attempt after the day is over then you are the de facto April Fool, or something like that.

Hello, we have the issue that our dedicated server is not downloading mods from the Workshop. This occurs both with open-source mods and with our own custom-created mods.
We have checked the lifeserver.json as well as the server.bat multiple times without success and have tried various different configurations.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
I could have experienced the same thing a week or so ago. The only thing that "fixed" it was deleting steamcmd completely and redownloading it

We have resolved this issue. It was caused by using Windows Server 2025; after switching to an older Windows Server version, it worked.

You're unlikely to get help by asking for "a hand"...
What I'd suggest you do is first the relevant Arma reforger bootcamp videos. Then when you start doing your configs, scripting, texture etc ask a specific question on the problem you're facing in the relevant channels (eg #enfusion_scripting).
this is the best way to reliably receive help, no one is going to spend their free time to walk you around the workbench since there are hundreds if not thousands of hours needed to do so to properly teach you everything.
Also :
for example, i'm a script writer kind of modders, so if what you were trying to do was import custom patches for your team, well i wouldn't be able to assist at all when it comes to modeling or texturing since i simply have zero skills in that field, so simply asking for "help" won't get you any help since no one is familiar with the entirety of the workbench(except bacon)

if so the mod was last updated in May 2025 that was back in 1.3 and hasn't been updated since, it also only has 6'000 downloads which likely indicates it is broken/never worked.

I don't know i don't toy with conflicts but if i were you i'd check if wcs has a "core" mod for AAS. I believe all AAS servers are running their mod

If you want other people to use your map make sure to seperate the map itself as it's own world. And then create a second mod with the AAS layer on it
You do not want to force a game mode or something other than just the map on a mod that offers a map.

hey all, been trying to create the EXILE mod from scratch, right now we are hung up on the trading systems and banking, we are using Dynamic economy, however was wondering how would we set up the shops to be organised and one trader sell guns in one menue, ammo in next, and then clothing inanother tab and then have a diffrent trader sell cars,trucks, ect. and how would be get it so we can edit the starting money from the base 1k

Have you enabled it in the dl config? I know sometimes depending on the server host it can take 5 minutes or so for it to work server side after a restart

My workflow is:
Rebuild / export the topology map
Regenerate all navmeshes
Save everything
Try to publish
Sometimes the warnings disappear temporarily, but after restarting the Workbench (to verify everything), the same errors appear again.
I already:
Deleted all old navmesh files and generated new ones
Deleted and recreated the topology map
Made sure I don’t change anything on the map in between
Even after freshly generating the navmesh, the Workbench still reports it as outdated.
It feels like the data is not being saved or not being read correctly after restarting.
Because of this issue I’m currently unable to publish my project.
Does anyone have an idea what could cause this or why the data keeps being marked as outdated?
Any help would be really appreciated.
For Workshop on EXP branch, how do we see what branch our mod is published under (i.e. public, private, testing) ?
I am using the normal Workshop upload (unlisted) for a test server, but I cannot publish at all due to these warnings.

Before your reply, I had my project stored on my C: drive in a separate Reforger folder.
After reading your message, I thought that might be the issue, so I moved the entire project into:
Documents/My Games/ArmaReforgerWorkbench/Addons
Then I re-added the mod and opened it from there.
After that, I reloaded both the topology map and the navmesh. This worked, and all warnings were gone — just like it had happened before multiple times.
So I restarted the Workbench again (as I usually do to make sure the issue is permanently fixed). But when I tried to publish again, the warnings immediately reappeared:

If you are unable to upload the project within 2 minutes, you will have to test it on experimental where chunked uploads have been introduced to see if it's the infamous cloudflare issue

I have been experiencing the same issue for days when trying to upload my map. I am currently looking for a solution. Someone suggested that I try uploading it via a cloud gaming setup.
However, I haven’t found a suitable provider for this yet. Does anyone know a cost-effective cloud gaming provider that I could use to upload the map?
Alternatively, someone also recommended waiting for the next Reforger update.
Not sure if allowed, but I’ve been using stim.io. Some other ones haven’t worked, additionally I have had failures at servers hosted in Canada. Since it doesn’t matter where you physically are(other than latency to the Remote Desktop) I’d use Virginia or Ohio in the US as that’s where I’ve had the most success

I decided to replace the turret of another vehicle the the turret of the LAV-25, and the sight isn't elevating with the gun. Who do I contact when I am very confident I discovered an annoying bug within the peer params in the dedicated server tool/plugin?
It seems to me that while the server params support multiple comma seperated custom addonsDir's, the peer params do not. It clearly shows a difference in the discovered mods between server and peer, with exactly the same copy pasted params.

I have narrowd this down to the fact that when using paths with spaces and thus having to use quotation marks, it bugs out. if using paths with no spaces and thus no quotation marks it works fine. @ebon river tagging you as ive seen you active here, sorry if not appropriate but maybe you can route this to the according place where it can get taken care of in a future update

The Arma Reforger Tools / Workbench. There is in the world editor, under Plugins a dedicated server tool where one can spin up a local dedicated server for testing for example proper replication behaviour locally. This plugin/tool has a "peers" section where, in addition to the server, a local client gets spun up, similar to when you just start the normal Reforger Game, which then autojoins the local dedicated server. For testing purposes. And in this peers section, you can define startup CLI parameters. And the bug is in the parsing of these startup parameters of the peers section.

I don't believe you're allowed to go into their mods, copy and paste the script in your own mod or take assets and send them to your mod without using it as a dependency.
Unless they've provided a public github repos from which you are explicitly allowed to take sources.

- Some vehicles are very slow and additional accelerator needs to be pushed on. These cars behaves differently with speed, not like vanilla.
- Menu with signals left-right appears in a middle and is totally useless. I wish to take it off.

All great additions that would go a long to a mature complete product. A video embed would be a great feature as well.
#3 is one of the most important in current state, and something I hope we can see before ArmA 4. A huge reason for the deduction that the workshop is filled with "slop" is because it is. The same as A3, and every other game. Minor tweaks, compats, configs, reskins etc build up over time. Proper filtering and popularity working would go a long way.
Steam handled that pretty well with subscribers, popularity, and recentness. I can't really think of any downsides to that system actually, it handled new mods very well with visibility.

There's a huge amount of mods that straight up don't work on the workshop right now, and there's 0 way to tell in game
The only way to get an inkling is to check the workshop in browser because that tells you the game version (and for some reason the in game one doesn't)

• Comments enabled/disabled (Uploader's own decision if he/she wants comments enabled or disabled).
• Kind of link possibilities (as example Discord, Webpage, own Forum), as example to get in contact to Developer or Dev-Team, as fan or bug reports or suggestions (also own decision to post any kind of link/platform).
• If possible, a bigger Mod upload.. Its trash to split main Mod into several little mods and make dependencies of dependencies (might be ok for doing updates but your list gets filled pretty quick)
There are more ideas still but not sure if this and other ideas even get handled honest
Comments on/off would be sketchy, too easy for someone to upload something dodgy and disable comments to go longer without people raising concerns

Chat doesn't work in my custom scenario. I have ScriptedChatEntity with all channels configured. The log shows 'Slot_Chat Has no Content' when the RespawnMenu loads. My scenario uses SCR_GameModeCampaign. What am I missing?

It's just that the mod data is nott he source data anymore
And while you might be able to unpack it, and decompile some of the sources. You will be left with incomplete source data depending on what you had in the mod.

I too develop games that live on top of community created content and then make it so community created content cant be uploaded for over half a year

It is honestly hilarious. I just read that the Chernarus Minus team had asked BI what their policy is regarding if they can use the names of upper chernarus towns/cities from Dayz a month back, only to receive no response. Though if they took the gamble, BI would almost certainly give them a response in less than two days w/ the ban hammer (assuming that it is against their policy).
They definitely have been cracking down on mods, the killed the entire Metro community

It could be for many reasons, they asked the wrong email, or their inquiry was effortless and as such no effort is made to respond to it, or it was forwarded internally, discussed, but nobody had time to get back to them. And even if they did everything right, sometimes there are just so many requests sent that answering all of them is not possible. The stances on our IP use are well documented and types of violation are well known in the community. I know nothing about this particular case, but when I hear they use "Chernarus" then it immediately sets of a red flag. The DayZ SA version of the map can not be used by the community for ANY purposes. No porting to other games, no modifications reuploaded for DayZ on it's workshop - nothing. The Arma 2 terrain is under APL-SA when I remember correctly, so if someone wanted to they can use that under the license terms that applies. Anything else is not permitted.
hey I've got a question I think I'm missing a step on. I'm trying to get my vehicle to keep the characters on its deck without falling off while its moving. the base game supply open bed trucks have this but after looking, recreating cargo colliders, and trying to find a component action I cant find anything that actually lets me have it work on my vic. what is the way that the game reads that?

I forgot how many reports were handled.
There were 3,709 new mod reports last year
This also does not include discord and email reports. Also many of the issues being handled result in mods not being banned.

But we give a lot of second chances. But not everyone takes them
But depending on situation, ban happens first due to the content or behavior. And then resolution or second chance happens after.
Hey guys, troubleshooting getting enfusion and blender linked.... sorry if there is an easily searchable answer. my mind is melting from port related issues and server setup.
- My issue, I want to export a model with animations from blender to enfusion. I have Enfusion Tools but whenb i click export FBX or TXA - I am told workbench is not running, or port is already taken.
I’m not certain of the source of your issue, but I’d recommend restarting both blender and the workshop if you just downloaded either. Then try again.
If that doesn’t work, I’d make sure you properly downloaded the additional animation files that were required. They should have been next to the original blender plugin files

the solution is being tested in the 1.7 experimental version but for now in 1.6 there is no immediate trick but to try again later
Someone told me the issue might be caused by image sizes exceeding 1 MB. We actually have several images larger than 2 MB attached to a vehicle. Could that possibly be the cause of the problem?

you could try temporarily changing texture resolutions to smaller to make the mod size smaller to push it through the cloudflare pipe faster

I don’t understand why u guys have unlisted setting for mods but then you don’t NO-INDEX the workshop link. Most mods become listed basically with a google search.. and the mods link… it’s just the id + name.

I’m trying to add a vehicle respawn system to my project so that when a vehicle is destroyed, another one spawns automatically. The issue is that when the vehicle gets damaged or explodes, the respawn keeps triggering repeatedly at the spawn point.
Could you please help me solve this issue?

If you mean the project upload issue, try repeating the process at different times. I was facing the same problem, but I noticed that at certain times it works for me and the project can be published successfully at a specific time.
Ambient vehicle spawner already does this, available in vanilla. Also despawns it when no player is near to keep server performance high
There were some known issues with entitie spawned falling from above, I believe this should be fixed already in 1.7 exp. apart from that it should just work. If you are doing some custom spawner entity it depends on that code. In general you are in the wrong channel for this, I am not sure right now which one would be the most suitable.

Hi, I am new here and was wondering. I had this idea that i wanted to make the hecu marines from half life and make a faction from it and maybe expand to a black mesa map. Currently i am in mid completion for the hecu marines faction, and the idea of copyright and ips came to my mind. So my question is.
Can i make a arma reforger mod with half life ip? or is it considered copyright infrigment?
I researched if there are any half life mods for reforger and there seems to be just one, called HACU equipment. (P.S. completely unrelated with what I am doing, found it mid work.)
You always need permission from external IP owner. Either through their fan work rules, game eula, direct permission you asked for etc

Hello, I made two custom factions using the FIA as a bade to duplicate. They are both separate but when I put both on my server one breaks and only spawns vanilla FIA.
Is there a way to fix that?
And since when has HECU been so heavily copyrighted? I mean, a lot of A3 mods explicitly mention HECU. I dont think calling "HECU" - HECU is going to get trouble.

I guess that could happen because both of your custom factions have the same faction key. But if you are going to change faction key, then it needs to be changed in many places.
I have never been changing faction keys so I cant really help further.
I guess good way to do it would be to find a mod that does that already and reverse engineer it.
Are you trying to have more than 3 factions in same game?
I made two factions, when creating them I just duplicated the FIA config. I did change the faction key for both though.
Also found out that the issue only happend on my server.

can't pay modders to do work for you, my biggest issue with such people is the entitlement they have, and also not realizing that modding is actual work.
Modder sink hundreds and thousands of hours into the game and have spent hundreds of hours just learning the game's engine. begging for mods is basically like spitting into their mouth in my opinion (exxagerating a bit but you get the idea)

Gave it a fair shot, but running a server was too much work for me, i had underestimated how much work it is to run a community as well as the development of all the tools that goes with it.

Yes while publishing you can add the bohemia account emails of anyone who should get contributor rights. they can then publish to workshop via workbench directly too. But you still need some version control to sync the local mod source files between everyone.
