I think that's been one of my favorite parts on how. CNS kinda just does a thing. And you see how there is clear effort from the Sponsors to cover it up. Team Death-match? CNS? No. That was always Vaiiya idea.

My tinfoil hat theory rn is that the hack from last season was more significant than we might think. I mean the last circuit was labeled "Override complete..." like how Vaiiya isn't just a cybersecurity force but also one of the world's premiere neural implant chip designers and that their chips are confirmed to atleast in part alter a person's perception of reality

Also Dissun's marketing and slogan implies that in the society of the finals humanity never took the strides towards sustainable energy that we have in our world, or that at the very least Dissun has continued with runaway use of fossil fuels as a source of power for the world

that and sandstorm vegas implies climate change has caused serious disturbances to the climatological processes within the "meatspace"

Since atleast in our world, Vegas has not been buried underneath a super sand storm

Also Bernal in its reveal trailer featured a volcanic eruption in the background, volcanic activity is almost entirely unrelated to human activity, but the depiction of the eruption may be a depiction of an IN universe eruption within the "meatspace" which if true would further indicate that earth in the Finals is in a pretty rough state. As eruptions can have pretty significant damaging impacts on the climate

Not sure how the Wiki placed the year, there is proof that in the Final's universe there has been signicant technological advances. Engimo's marketing and sponsored equipment reveals that they utilize Quantum entangled particles for communication. Something which has only been demonstrated to work theoretically in our world.

Oh also Holtow offering ridiculous pointless insurance packages to its customers further implies the "meatspace" is a bad place, and that the state of the world is not good. If climate related disasters occur on the regular then it stands to reason that other human related disasters occur frequently too. Therefore making people nervous and willing to pay for stupid stuff like Asteroid insurance or Alien invasion insurance.

As for other indicators that the "meatspace" has some big issues, S4 included the crisis clipper outfit, a medical worker outfit which a ballistic helmet, which to me seems to be a nod to the militarized EMTs of Cyberpunk 2077 indicating that cities in the "meatspace" are dangerous and that public/private service workers have had to adopt protective equipment due to the danger posed by citizens

I have a theory about HOLTOWS “sun insurance” I’m excited about. I believe that the finals and the vitual reality and the finals gameshow is powered by solar energy! Think about it HOLTOW Says and I might be paraphrasing, “make sure your virtual assets are secure if the unimaginable happens and the light goes out”. Now if this is true it could mean that they offer sun insurance in the case that the sun dies and stops powering the virtual world people would lose the virtual assets they care about so much. It would also make sense seeing that sun insurance is the insurance that HOLTOW advertises the most, because for most people this seems like the baseline insurance you would need. Heck I would get it.

Just an added note obviously HOLTOW themselves don’t power the finals. Im pretty certain that dissun are the one doing that and this theory only holds up if dissun uses solar energy but I haven’t seen much evidence for that yet, but it’s still possible. Maybe?

I'd like to point out that, after watching some arc raiders footage today, the ranzio logo appears to have been repurposed fully for raiders and probably won't have a place in the finals' lore imo. To be fair, the sponsor logos we've seen (excluding dissun) have not been mentioned again since the earliest trailers, so I think it's very possible that some assets were not needed in the finals and when development started on raiders they just ported what looked good.
But that's just what I think cos I think it'd be a little on the nose to have the two universes be connected idk

Embark devs stated a few times that there is a lot more going on beneath the surface. So we might have not found it etc. They definitely do not spell out what is actually happening out side of the game.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see how and to what extend Finals is connected to Arc Raiders. I can't wait to see what people find in the playtest that's upcomming.

They call it the meat space is cramped from the lower class working in the oasis or FINALS ai which is why we compete for money and the upper class gets more space in the meat space. Than CNS are the people trying to bring down the ai to fix the messed up world, kinda what wade did in the movie. But people can still exist in the meatspace just not fully functioning. But it also ties into how arc raiders is connected because it takes place about a hundred years in the future, I think. Though it's interesting, I don't think Arc Raiders is in the same setting as The Finals/it's "meatspace". From what I can tell, Arc Raiders is in a properly post-apoc setting, with most of the world population living in protected areas (sheltered cities of sorts), and the world outside being unhinabited ruins/wastes/wilderness.

• I cannot imagine a world where things got this dire to have a large chunk of the population decide to spend most of their time in VR, when their life, while not nescessarily in immediate danger, might not be quite secure. Like if you're living in Speranza like we see in this trailer, I don't think most of these people have the time or means to spend most of their time at home in VR.
• Speaking of means, I don't think a post-apocalyptic world like we see in Arc Raiders' trailer has the infrastructure to support a The Finals scenario where VR is extremely popular and common. They are in the future, I assume they probably have the technology for things like servers and such, for instance, but would really dedicate resources and time to maintaining servers for VR games when you could use these for more pressing matters? (Communication, research, etc.) By the way, it doesn't mean that there can't be video games in the post apocalypse, but I assume that something as big as The Finals would not happen there.
• Finally, the Sponsors. Maybe there can be such a thing as companies in the post apocalypse of Arc Raiders... But you're not gonna tell me that someone is going to make a company like OSPUZE or ISEUL-T when you're worried about giant robots outside, for instance.

I think the idea of The Finals being much closer to Ready Player One than anything else is more valid (as if the turning into coins on death wasn't obvious-enough). The Meatspace CAN suck, but it doesn't have to be something as brutal or dark as the literal post-apocalypse. Maybe people are just poor, maybe that's the opposite and they're just bored! exactly, but i recommend takeing a dive into the lore of a virtual reality game called boneworks, and you can see quite a few overlapping details, making me think some inspiration was taken

boneworks adds it in lore that your in vr, and you can see advertisements and such, trying to profit off the virtual world, and i wouldnt call boneworks' "LavaGang" a hacking group, but they are doing the same as CNS, trying to make a free virtual space as the creator of the finals intended, because although we dont know who originally made the finals, we know they didnt add sponsors

I'm not a scolar on these things but I would assume that Meatspace probably originated in Neromancer? It's one of the most influencial Cyberpunk/Scifi books. I believe its Derogatory nature comes from the fact that you are very limited in your existence in the real world to your "Meat" (Body) while in the Virtual Space you can be anything or anyone, go anywhere you want etc.

If you notice anytime you change faces a quick grid progression appears to load up the new selection.

The Finals is a gameshow to entertain the elites who escaped the apocalypse on earth, and are now plugged into the matrix on ARC satellites orbiting the planet. The Raiders are the poors leftover on earth who scavenge the ARC satellites that plummet from orbit— which is what happens at the end of every Arc Raiders match. Raiders live underground because each Arc satellite that falls is like an extinction event, essentially a meteor that nukes the surface of the planet.

But it's the first Season we have Ospuze as a selectable sponsor & all the lore points towards them playing a bigger role in what's upcomming. If I had to bet i would still say we are getting a full ad. Tho this could also just be a teaser for a cosmetic bundle etc.

If cns sends us back in time willingly this time, we might see a map that's half modern and half medieval. It would be more spicy than the notoriously terrible kyoto, and that would make for a pretty interesting map mechanic.

In kinda all directions there are questions marks about how the world outside of the game functions etc. I kinda believe that that's probably intentional. The Finals is a VR Gameshow. There are Hackers, corporations... There isn't much to really summarise? There are a plenty of Deep dives on Storybits we do have. A lot of it is speculation. There is lore, it just hasnt been shown or been discovered yet. It's a very slow burn on how things get revealed and that's very much intentional from Embark. Case and point the r/cns subreddit. There were leaked in lore documents posted there. And we got hint's by devs that there are more out there.

So Oscar has been teasing that something Ospuze-related is gonna happen soon ish in the last two community streams. ( I assume 6.9) A new Ospuze flavor getting released, etc. I today remembered that there's an Ospuze Tiger Flavor Sample can as a charm in-game. This might be it? Rob actually chimed in and mentioned that Fizzy Tiger (from one of the V9S skin) is either related to or owned by Ospuze.

It definitely fits into the setting, just like in our world where there might be a wide variety of brands, but behind the scenes, they're all owned by just a handful of companies and are really just subsidiaries.

I wonder if this applies to other things as well? For instance, Iseul-T owning other clothing brands, etc.

This also would check out with the ARC Raiders being set in same universe different time theory. It is set on Earth several hundred years into the future, following a mass exodus of humans into space due to the ecological collapse.

And ENGIMO’s ads before have also implied people wouldn’t want to end up disconnected from the virtual world (and by extension, ending up back in the real world, a la “meatspace”) even on accident.

I’d wager people stay in the virtual space (even if not playing or watching The Finals) because it’s still preferable to real life. Which could lead to even more ecological collapse because then humans are borderline abandoning the real world outside of the corporations doing god knows what.
