I think certain parts of the map should not be allowed to be destroyed. With how the spawn mechanics work it is quite possible for teams to camp and stall certain cashouts or even vaults to be taken. In seoul for example the bridge should not be allowed to explode or spawn mechanics better be improved. Yes, this just happened and it pissed me off that I also had 2 lights, one of which played sniper

I think that to help combat the impossibility of stealing cashouts located in Seoul’s hospital when the sky bridge is destroyed they should consider adding another level below the normal path you would have to take. It would provide some cover so you don’t get immediately fucked if you don’t have 3 heavys w/ mesh

It’s a way too open Vegas 2.0 but at least Vegas has a ton of unique and interesting assets.

Overall the layout of the map is great and i feel it will play great but few issue major issue I have with the map,

Feels very unfinished and rushed together, The colour pallet is way out and don't make sense what so ever. I understand the map is meant to looked like it been hacked or what ever but its really falls short of aesthetics compared to the other maps already made, I feel if they made the map looks more like the other maps and remove all the hacked looking elements from it the map overall will look nicer and feel better.

Its just a complete eye sore too even play the map, iv already quit a the map few times as it hurts my eyes to look at unfortunately 😦

Was hoping for more than 1 map on season 2 and was hoping to have maps based on locations would be a cool idea to have multiple maps designed on locations around the world, Japan/London/Thailand/Egypt and many more designed like the Las Vegas/Monaco map with Embarks personal touch on them would actually make the maps play a lot more fun.

Seems like some buildings in horizon are fully destructible while others are to a certain floor as they are connected to huge pillars to go up to the sky

Some of the buildings in SYSHORIZON have ceilings we can walk on, which pretty much boils down into confirming the entire building can be destroyed if you dedicate time to it in a private match, the big buildings like the museum or art gallery however have around 3-5 floors and no access to the ceiling, so you can only destroy the walls and floors of those levels, leaving only the big ceiling that goes upwards like a pillar going up to the sky.

the lack of ziplines doesnt mean its bad, it just encouraged you to use team comp/gadgets to move around. get your medium to setup a jump pad or a zip themselves

one thing that i fucking LOVE and i mean dude, LOOOVE is the little blocks that are near balconies. the floating little blocks that you can jump to and get up to higher floors while indoors. it makes sense in artistic context and makes AS MUCH SENSE in playing.

i really dont get the hate on it, competitively it is a good map and doesnt stray far from the formula you guys already had. it’s like Las Vegas was cut in 2/3 and stripped of all the long walls with no entryways. fantastic

The map caters to medium most, light can zip past open areas, and heavy gets screwed.

93R works fine with mid-range engagements so it’s no surprise it doesn’t struggle on this map. You’re still better off with the XP.

for the average player yes, but other maps cater to other playstyles/builds as well. it’d be boring if every match was triple medium no? there’s viability in each build on each map in different areas of the map, which is why i’m sayin just go somewhere else to fight

For the new map MMM is definitely a very strong build considering light lacks utility, heavy’s ranged tools are gimped, and medium now does everything a heavy can do better except put up shields.

they gave light wallhack abilities and removed them from medium, and heavy is undoubtedly the easiest class in the game and OP for any good player. MMM is a good build for most any map imo, its a very unique class, but running heavy with bubble and lewis or light with cloaking and pistol/XP is just as valid. don’t forget there’s gateway grenades in game as well now too, another way to get to cover and avoid long range battles if you’re fighting for obj

this map in specific doesnt have any outlying problems versus any other map. its just a new playstyle to adapt to, we did the same thing with Las Vegas so we gotta run it up on Horizon now

Monaco is a very good mix of close quarters and open objectives. Plus it’s not a low budget pre-alpha map.

my first experience with this new map was in quick cash, where 2 heavies and a light were camping the cashout room with barriers and bubble shield posted up like it was Rainbow 6. they got to the cashout and held it down, other 2 teams had 4 mediums combined

the light got to the cashout using the new portal nade, the heaviest cover fired while they rotated. idk what to tell you dude thats how you play the map

the new medium demateralizer is good yeah, but it takes the place of two other REALLY valuable things for teamplay. if you fight and lose or fight and end up with low HP you gotta avoid fighting for a long time, regardless of the map or situation with any build or any gun if you don’t have a teammate with heal beam.

I love the new map, it’s beautifully simplistic, amazing colors, and great influences.
Movement around the map is fantastic, and it feels like I never have to move that far to get from one place to the other(this comes with the drawback of frequent third parties). Jump pads and zip lines are placed frequently but just enough to know theres one right around the corner almost everywhere there SHOULD be a zipline, there is.

The cashouts and vaults are always somewhere with unique geometry, I had a vault earlier spawn on a parkour section which was sick!

I think this is definitely the best playing map in the game, almost like the “Nuketown” of the finals and that’s great!

I love how the destruction is pixelized and there’s parkour everywhere. It falls perfectly in place with this seasons theme, and leaves me wanting more experiences like this! Thank you Embark and Thank you CNS!

The thing is that this map IS ultra detailed and has had so much work put into it, but just a lack of high definition textures leaves you with a bitter taste? Look at the colors, the backgrounds the damn pixelated ocean with 8 bit sound, this map oozes what the finals IS, a simulation, a game! Embark tried something different and they fucking COOKED.

So the amazing colors reminiscent of mirrors edge and bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip should not be in the game? Image if every single map looked liked something from MW2019, all of those maps formed a conglomerate of grays and browns and were terribly designed mechanically.

I do have to complain about one thing though and that’s the Game show events, Retro invasion 82’ was aesthetically pretty cool and fitting but I felt it had no lasting impact on the match compared to something like mega damage. Tbh all of the gameshow ideas are a little weak.

I actually really enjoy Horizon honestly. It has most maneuverability out of the entire map roster while still managing to maintain clean chokepoints.

I’ll try and explain a few of the things that I don’t like about the new map. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad map, but this is why I’m personally a bit underwhelmed with it

1. It feels rushed. It only uses basic textures and all they really did was use pre-existing props from other maps, make some very basic rooms and slap a single colour scheme on each of them. The colours are also so intense and basic that imo it’s just really ugly

2. It’s unnecessarily massive. As a heavy main, moving around this map takes ages. And depending where your team respawns, your often forced into attacking a certain cashout, bc running to the other one takes way too long, leaving you no time to clear and steal it

3. It’s also way too open and long range. There’s barely any kind of cover on the streets, and so many long sight-lines overlooking it, that you just get shot if you try (also, as a heavy main, heavies don’t really have any good long range options to fight back with). The rooms in buildings are also too open, there are already so many sight-lines and entry points to worry about when defending, but now you also have to deal with dematerialisers opening up any of the walls around, above or below you.

I’m not trying to start an argument with all this, these are just my opinions on what I dislike about the new map, there are a fair few things I do like about it, but overall I just don’t enjoy it.

I agree... heavy suffers in big maps. But you need support from teammates for mobility.

If u play solo, heavy is not an all season. Most of solo players just go for light.

Jump pads, ziplines and finally gates are made to be used by the whole team. In this game, if the team is solid and play close, you often win.

I don't see any useful use of gateway in the new map, we use it in other maps and it's good we do a lot of combos with it but new map and vegas is meh

My best frend always uses the gateway to get the vault/cashbox. He Just throas on part down woth the vault and just before it opens he throas the nexst one so the cashbox teleports 60 meters away and then runs away with it💀

this map should be based off of santorini, cyprus, venice, or any seaside area that have similar buildings.
it should be built in a way that there are general high areas and low areas (like monaco), but overall have more cover and barriers than monaco. many flowing pathways that are a bit more linear than other maps (skyway)
this map will have a special event that exists only for it. during the event, waters begin to rise and fall, making lower areas in accessible and forcing players to high points

Rollout on skyway for cart, green is main path, yellow are launch pads.

Using a mix of sliding into launchpads and sliding sideways on rooftops, you can do this very quickly
