Really tried everything to get a human revision or at least the reason why I got banned (obviously i never used cheats, bugs or anything like that)

At this point i just give up, burning hundreds of dollars and thousand hours invested into an online game and letting my favorite game die (firstly just for me).

Why would anybody want to play a game from devs who do not care about their player base?

This is easily solvable with indestructible terrain or wall, Bernal for example has many toggleable walls which act as indestructible, the new map starlight hollow is a great example of how they resolved the flat terrain problem, they just added indestructible rocks which serve as a backup when cover gets destroyed. They need to add more indestructible walls to the maps that are in point break

In most tact games one of the biggest complaints is audio. I know that players would love to have an option to mute teammates footsteps but we never get that, but a happy medium that would really help players differentiate footsteps audio could be a higher or lower frequency for non teammate footsteps. Not drastic but just a small tweak. Just a thought

I would like to submit feedback regarding the matchmaking system, especially in Ranked mode.

I’m a long-time player with an account level above 100, and it honestly feels unfair that I constantly get matched with very new players around levels 20–30 on my team. Many of them are still learning the game mechanics and Ranked basics, while I’m being matched against experienced players, which creates very unbalanced matches and ruins the competitive experience.

As a high-level player who has spent a lot of time in the game, I expect the matchmaking system to consider player experience and overall skill more accurately. Right now, the system feels inconsistent and frustrating, especially in Ranked where teamwork and experience matter a lot.

Please consider improving the matchmaking system so that experienced players are matched with teammates closer to their skill level and game experience.

Thank you for your time, and I hope this issue can be improved in future updates.

Hello, I love the game, this isn’t really a gameplay complaint but could you consider going back and separating effects from existing skins like you started doing with ultimate pass effects recently?
I would love to be able to use the heart effect from affection display face with other faces,
also if we could turn off the glowy effects on the new battlepass ultimate skins? Cause it’s super distracting and makes it hard to match with anything that isn’t an ultimate pass outfit.
Third could you please consider letting us buy the ultimate passes in the legacy battle pass menu? There no real reason to make that exclusive, there’s already plenty of event exclusive content, can we not lock the ultimate content from a battlepass I just couldn’t afford at the time? If you just let me I would love to drop more money on that, because it’s just so cool, but right now it’s impossible for no reason

Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Removing the stun on winch entirely feels like a really obvious good change.

If playing near teammates, a successful winch is still basically and instant kill, but it will no longer be a ā€œfree killā€ button in 1v1s.

Even with no compensation buffs (could give it more range maybe), winch is still a top tier pick for cashout manipulation / stall alone.

It’s been bad for multiple seasons in a row, please at least address WHY winch has remained untouched.

Also H Infuser really needs changes to not outclass the heal beam.

Turret needs a full rework, it is sort of fun to use but it’s a total throw pick above silver.

DeMat needs shorter cooldown, the 2 charges on 10s cooldown was better than the current 3 charges 20s cooldown IMO.

Giving M an extra gadget slot would be a really cool way to buff the overall class viability.

For melee rework - consider giving melee weapons lots of utility rather than pure combat strength. For example give riot shield a ā€œpushā€ to help stop steals and CC opponents etc.

Embark please I beg if you see this, taking away the ranked charms and stickers and giving it to the world tour emerald grind track is dumb. taking those rewards away from people that work hard to get to those ranks in ranked is ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for making everyone feel included and like they have something to be proud of but at least take this into consideration. Give the hexagonal charms and stickers back to ranked and make the casual world tour charms the circular ones that used to be from quick play then everyone gets them and the people who work hard and grind in ranked get all the rewards they deserve and give them something that is universal and that they can put on every weapon/gadget. I don’t know about everyone else but I was proud to have hit plat in my 2nd season and was hella pissed when I didn’t get a sticker or charm to show off and I can imagine others are too. starlight hollow needs the peace center treatment, but instead of being locked only to tdm, it should be locked to dragon's claim only, it has no place in tdm or point break

Because movement, survivability, and damage can all happen at the same time with minimal commitment, dash removes the need to choose between escaping and fighting. Most other tools in the game force a tradeoff between repositioning and output, but dash lets you do both at once with high reliability.

A low-impact fix would be to make dash always move in the direction of the crosshair, like it already does when no movement keys are pressed. In that state, dash goes straight relative to aim even if you spin during it: https://streamable.com/agly3t

If dash were tied to crosshair direction, that changes:

  • Escaping would require committing your aim away from the target
  • Continuing to deal damage would require committing your movement toward or around the fight

That separation brings back meaningful decisions under pressure. Instead of one input covering multiple problems at once, players would have to prioritise - either disengage cleanly or stay engaged and risk punishment.

PS5 Everytime I que up a match I legitimately cannot do a fucking thing. I can’t answer messages, trim clips, or any fucking thing because it cancels the que. It’s so annoying. Yes I thought it would be obvious it is rage bait. But, it does bring up interesting dilemma in that it is meant to help controller players but ends up benefiting cronus users the most. Stronger aim assist in games ends up benefiting hardware device cheaters, and has there actually been documented cases of Embark banning cronus users who didn't out themselves?

Remove defibs so mediums can pick other stuff and so coins have real meaning.

Other wise make defibs a universal revive mechanic, somehow. Like any class can spend a coin for a defib style revive.

In either case use the skins from defib to replace basic revive anims.

And at the very very least let us decline a bad defib and stop counting deaths unless you actually respawn. This would at least handle the toxic aspect of "friendly" defibs.

lol the copypasta spammer is back, here's why they'll NEVER revert sword clamp (again):

  • before the clamp, Sword M2 was absurdly spammy. You didn't need to aim your thrust, just hold M2, release, and shake your mouse/joystick vigorously so that the hitbox is all around you. That ain't intuitive, that's cheese meant to cover for your dogtier aim.

  • In fencing, thrust attacks are realistically seen as a high-risk, high-reward attack, since it gives you a lot of reach and power momentarity, at the cost of being utterly predictable and defenseless during recovery. The current aim clamp is not only reeling the spammy nature of Sword M2, it's also very realistic and whoever added this change did their research on sword fights. Kudos to the balance team for that.

  • Before the M1 buff, it was even more useless than quick melee. 75 damage per swing, you'd need 4 hits on Medium and 5 hits on Heavy to take them out, 1 less with quick melee. With that ttk, using M2 was the only viable method. You think your suggested M1 nerf balances out your M2 buff idea, whereas you never used M1 in the first place because M2 was so cheesy and easy to use. Just learn to aim.

Kill Switch - upon deployment it immediately activates like normal but now you can destroy the cube remotely. NO COOLDOWN REDUCTION. It’s simply an option to end the cube’s effects early. Allowing for more strategic stalls and arena manipulation.

Grenades are very bouncy, seeing as they aren’t made of rubber perhaps don’t have them bounce more than ~1m . However I do like the cool stuff you can do with bouncing nades so maybe just have this change apply to floors idk.

Hi i have a feature proposal to pump up the excitement of cashouts underway (quick cash, cashout and ranked play). Right now cashout stations feel very similar when you walk nearby them with no cashbox deposited in them as compared to when a cashout is underway. My proposal is to implement two changes to make them more exciting visually and audibly. First I suggest adding red sirens for cashout stations indoors that color the color the room as if there is an emergency once a deposit is made. The second is to change the current cashout station music for either a dedicated track that builds up tension instead of the current one or to play many of the fast paced excellent track the soundtrack has that currrently play only in lobbies but not in game. These proposals are obviously more suited for indoor cashout stations.

One last point is that these visual effects could be further enhanced (sirens blare more, music sounds louder) for the most dramatic cashouts (double jeopardies, when each team has 10000 cash in quick cash and when each team has 25000 in the final round of ranked and cash out).

Grand vault D on Nozomi/Citadel seems really hard to attack consistently. Across several games as both attacker and defender, it seems to be the hardest vault to attack on the entire map, significantly more than other vaults. Its proximity to grand vault A specifically, which tends to be a final vault due to the proximity of Grand vaults B and C and the central jump pad, makes it so that a lot of fights carry over between phases, giving defenders too much motive to only defend D while letting E and F fall. Because of how naturally difficult it is to push the building because of the lack of cover on the jump pads and bridge leading to it, attackers often feel disadvantaged significantly, regardless of if there are other vaults or not. I believe it should be moved either further into the building, possibly where a cashout spawns in the main mode on the top floor, or just moving the attacker spawn slightly further from vault D, incentivizing play at vaults E and F more.

Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Please consider making IOMMU mandatory alongside Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 for Ranked play in THE FINALS. Advanced DMA-based hardware cheats are becoming increasingly common in competitive games, and requiring IOMMU would help prevent external devices from directly accessing game memory and bypassing anti-cheat protections.

Apparently 'hard invis' is an issue all of a sudden (funny how people just wake up and realize something and the meta and usual complaints evolve). But from the time the game launched, two big counters to cloak have fallen by the wayside (Recon Senses, Thermal Vision), so not crazy there might be an issue. Everyone knows you guys are aware of all these things (ur actual job is to design the game), but full invis when standing still might not be in the spirit of the game if there aren't going to be more hard counters. Harder to implement visually, maybe, but it does feel like cloak should be more like camouflage all the time. At least the cloak players would have to be more selective and strategic where they do stand still and where they blend in better and worse. Again, nothing you guys don't know and are prob actively working on.

After picking it up a bit this season, cloak actually already works in the way that you describe.

Even when standing totally still for a long time, you are NEVER 100% invisible, there is always a visual distortion from the invis light - which is actually pretty easy to see on a flat background (think most walls on sys horizon).

Against a cluttered background (rubble, bushes etc) it is effectively impossible to see them, but they are never 100% truly invisible

lol the copypasta spammer is back, here's why they'll NEVER revert sword clamp (again):

  • before the clamp, Sword M2 was absurdly spammy. You didn't need to aim your thrust, just hold M2, release, and shake your mouse/joystick vigorously so that the hitbox is all around you. That ain't intuitive, that's cheese meant to cover for your dogtier aim.

  • In fencing, thrust attacks are realistically seen as a high-risk, high-reward attack, since it gives you a lot of reach and power momentarity, at the cost of being utterly predictable and defenseless during recovery. The current aim clamp is not only reeling the spammy nature of Sword M2, it's also very realistic and whoever added this change did their research on sword fights. Kudos to the balance team for that.

  • Before the M1 buff, it was even more useless than quick melee. 75 damage per swing, you'd need 4 hits on Medium and 5 hits on Heavy to take them out, 1 less with quick melee. With that ttk, using M2 was the only viable method. You think your suggested M1 nerf balances out your M2 buff idea, whereas you never used M1 in the first place because M2 was so cheesy and easy to use. Just learn to aim.

Moving platforms design is a joke. I clutched up with a sniper today, wiped the team got the res, start running the box, jump on platform AND I GET STUCK INSIDE THE FUCKING SIDE OF IT!? Couldnt vault, couldn't move and I could see box held in front of me through the fucking wall, so I throw towards station and box ends up behind me in the abyss. Lost the game.

I use the cl-40 and only using that got to diamond with it

the weapon lacks any ttk on other M & H (this is fine btw)

( keep in mind the only weapon the cl-40 will have a better ttk is when fighting a pike when in a MVM match up)

But if u want to reward more direct shots increase the velocity of the shots and maybe make the cycle animation to be slightly faster i am fine with less splash damage but plz then make it more in line with what u have said for wanting direct hits with it

Dev Note: The CL-40’s effectiveness is not great compared to many other Medium weapons. We know facing the CL is frustrating for some players, so we want to be careful with how much we buff it, but these changes are needed to increase its viability. The aim is to incentivize more direct hits with the CL-40, rather than less accurate splash damage shots.

I would also love 2 see data reshaper cool down to be faster ( I do not use it but it takes 28s to come back feels it should be faster if u want more out of it )

After the lottery changed, all of my accumulated keys disappeared. Including the gift keys, I had over 500 of them. To be honest, I’m incredibly disappointed because I assumed keys were a permanent in-game currency, not event-specific. Also, I didn't see any warning anywhere stating that keys would vanish when the lottery changed.
The result: hours spent grinding for those keys were just flushed down the toilet.

My favourite part of this game is when I have to get 2 fucking tournament wins to get back what I lost getting 1st rounded, while THE LOBBIES ARE LITERALLY THE FUCKING SAME ABOVE PLAT. If you are low plat or high plat or diamond it doesn't matter, because you play against the same pool of players and unless you get matched with ruby stacks in the same lobby it's literally equally difficult to win the game. The most trash ranked system in any video game ever made.

Even if it's not 40Āŗ, if any aim lock exists, sword will have the most idiotic handling. Since the rotation clamp is clearly the biggest thing that makes the weapon unusable, it shouldn't exist at all. You should just revert sword back to how it was in S1,S2 , when there was no multi-hit. Sword back then was a bit weak, but that’s okay. A weaker weapon is better than a dumb patch that destroys its identity.

Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1500h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Bro all melee is being reworked next season just keep your fingers crossed stop reposting this run on sentence every day. At least update the formatting and grammar so it’s readable.

The reason they nerfed it is because old sword was bad for the game. One OP or annoying (sword was the latter) weapon ruins the game experience for everyone involved.

On the other hand, an underpowered weapon only affects the users of said weapon.

Big chunk of community is more total people than the total number of sword mains, simple math, that’s why it’s been nerfed.

Hopefully the rework puts it into a place where it’s actually fun to engage with. Even the current version sucks to deal with, while also being objectively weak.

My solution for melee is making it more "tech" oriented and lowering damage of standard attacks (primary and secondary attacks), only slightly to encourage more complex use of the weapon over spam. This makes the melee require more skill to use effectively and makes it more viable in terms of close ranged fights. Melee weapons should have more of an emphasis on utility making them more viable than they already are outside of fights.

This could be done for example by making certain movement chaining more effective outside of combat. Like the sword you could switch to a gadget and back to the sword to create momentum that can be controlled and amplified with other methods of movement such as jumping, sliding and even mantling. Allowing the user to have utility (being more movement options) while not doing damage with that movement making it not over powered and annoying to win a head on fight with. As when the sword user is doing damage they will have less movement allowing them to be more easily hit but when they are not fighting they can easily move away, which encourages melee to trade damage when fighting, which will make gun users feel like it's more fair when fighting.

Melee needs movement, why does a knife on a archetype that is described as "extremely fast" force you to run at walking speed, meaning you cannot catch up to heavies. Why does riot shield blocking, when the feet are easily exposed force your camera to zoom in and make you move slower than a heavy walking... There is so much built-in counterplay to melee already, catching up to enemies means you have to do so much work, and the payoff is not worth using. There's a reason melee is hardly used in a serious/competitive scenario.

I have some really good feedback. Please buff lights even more. Sword melee should one shot heavy and medium. A single dash should cover half the map distance. Add one more dash as well please. I also need more smurfs in the game. I love seeing a level 10 player have 2k eliminations and have crazy movement skills. I love how there is no report option for smurfing. I absolutely love to click on "other" and then type and entire passage as to how the opponent is smurfing all the while the match continues in the background. Please do not change any the report settings and please bring in more smurfs

The medium's repeater is in a weird spot right now.

For a while it was the only usable weapon on medium and they nerfed it to put it back into a healthy spot. It was definitely strong, no arguments there, but I think the nerf to its range and damage put it in a bad spot. They made it scope in slower and reduced its fire rate because it was too good at close range. This was a good change, it allowed the weapon to remain focused at a medium-long range where it thrives. But the damage nerf and range nerf did the opposite. It's identity was a hard hitting, slow firing, medium-long range rifle. But now, if I use it across any meaningful gap, I may as well just be using the revolver cause its damage is pitiful. the damage nerf also made it go back to 5 shotting heavies. This break point is dumb in my opinion because the heavy class (with 100 more hp) has weapons similar in style like the BFR and KS23 that kill heavies with 4 shots like the repeater should. This means, unless you hit a headshot, any interaction with a heavy may as well be you shooting concrete because they will ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS kill you faster. This is especially weird cause the dmg nerf didn't affect a single other break-point. It still 2 shots lights and 3 shots mediums. Embark, please, put it's damage back up to 88 so I can use it against heavies again. And give it its range back, that was the whole point of the weapon in the first place. In exchange I propose more changes similar to that of the fire rate nerf and scope-in time increases. Changes that make it shine more in its intended purpose and less universal at close range, keeping the revolver and model in their place.

If anyone has any disagreements I'm open to hearing them out. Operate in good faith here. I care about the betterment of this game that we all love so much.

since you guys are re-working mele, i NEED to suggest studying this game, but speeding it up to the pace of the finals.
(its honestly the best mele experince i've ever had in first person MELE, other than "dark messiah of might and magic", but a bit too realistic.
this game is a close 3rd right now, (but more fun/arcade than both, minus the ragdoll physics... )

(side note: swap shield to heavy, and spear to mediam... it just makes more sense, adjust damage accordingly, and make the mace/baton bigger, and the spear have a wider hit-range, and let us cancel the spin ffs)

If this thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/thefinals/comments/1tc1xz5/the_ranked_distribution_project/) can be taken serious and The Dataā„¢ strongly suggests so then The Finals has a serious problem with how rank score is calculated.

This also influences matchmaking. All those complains about high golds fighting rubies are sourced by a deflation of ranks in the system. If about 80% of the players are in bronze and silver it's logical that gold 4, platinum and diamond are squished together with ruby. Or to use another example if less than 5% of the playerbase is in platinum and above whom do you want to matchmake those people against?? There are not enough players for the matchmaking to work, but it's not because there are not enough people playing The Finals but the ranks are deflated to the extreme.
In Overwatch which uses the same 5 ranks plus master top tiers most players are distributed between gold and platinum. Compared to The Finals this is madness!

I don't know what Embark screwed up to land here, but it's incredible problematic for a game that wants to be e-sports focused. Imagine beginners(!) not being able to advance to silver in a rank system that has 5 ranks for normal beings. This is incredible frustrating and produces a high churn rate. I'm not advocating for engagement-based matchmaking, god forbid. But they need to keep players in the loop for ranked to work. The Finals isn't a big game to begin with. Creating such an mental entry barrier to the ranked progression is causing even less players in this game mode.

Adding to this I don't understand why you can lose hundreds of rank score when placing 5th/6th as a bronze player. If this would be gold, okay. It's time to get serious, but those people in bronze and silver are just starting out. They are beginners! So I think the main problem is not gaining rank score, but losing it too easily. This won't change with the personal bonus in season 11 so they better return to the drawing board for this one.

Skill doesn't fall into a bellcurve. It actually falls into what is called a Power Law distribution where roughly 80% of the population is on the low end and only roughly 20% are on the high end.

It is 100% expected that most players will be in bronze/silver. That is the correct distribution that follows real life observations on humans performing skilled tasks.

Many people over estimate their own ability too. "I'm definitely diamond! I just can't get out of bronze because not my fault!"

Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Having played since CB1, I've come to the conclusion that doubling the cashbox shouldn't be a mechanic in ranked. Sure, it prevents a team in 4th from suddenly jumping to 1st, but realistically, if they're that far behind, they should be fighting for 3rd or trying to stagger the cashbox and contest cashout stations 5 and 6 instead.

As it stands, once a team deposits cashbox 5 and secures an ungriefable position, the entire lobby just hunts 2nd place. It turns into a 9v3 where three teams are trying to double while preventing the team in 2nd from splitting, which makes the endgame feel forced and repetitive rather than strategic.

Anti Gravity Cube Viability/QoL Change:

Kill Switch - upon deployment it immediately activates like normal but now you can destroy the cube remotely. NO COOLDOWN REDUCTION OR REFUND. It’s simply an option to remotely end the cube’s effects early. Allowing for more strategic stalls and arena manipulation.

It seems that Embark followed the Power Law when desiging the rank score distribution and in that regard they nailed it.
Problem is presentation and the player engagement that follows.

For example Age of Empires 4 once changed its rank score distribution so everyone could reach highest rank, when they played enough games. Think the opposite of The Finals. They did that because people are bad at the game but would not stick around when getting stuck. Their ranked mode is now one of the most played game modes.

I don't like the idea and Embark shouldn't do that, but they can't use the standard 5+ rank system, when aiming for the Power Law. This will lead to matchmaking complains that are now everywhere because given that presentation no one understands why platinum must fight ruby.
In that case they need a completly different approach presenting the ranks or at least less ranks so it is more obvious that you are already in the top 20%. Which at the moment is gold!

  • Add the 9 and 10th contestant slots already, there are 11 specs in total now. More contestant slots would let players utilize more of them as well as experiment with more weapons.

  • Move Pike .556 from Medium to Heavy class. Pike would be more useful in the hands of Heavy than Medium. Here are the reasons why:

  1. Pike is a shit weapon. Medium already has Repeater and Crossbow to fill the long-range poke weapon niche.

  2. Buffing Pike won't be enough to give back it's relevance. Crossbow basically does the same thing Pike does, except better. Sure it has less range, but Repeater already covers that long-range niche. To make Pike relevant, not only would it require a buff on itself but also nerfs on the others to actually let it shine.

  3. On the other hand, Heavy still doesn't have a scoped marksman rifle. Sure Heavy has some long-range options like BFR Titan and Akimbos, but technically they're still pistols. If Heavy could use Pike, it would still be a sidegrade to them at best because, again, Pike is a shit weapon. It has nice range and ammo, but the damage and hipfire is so atrocious that normal fights are hard to win, and at close range it's impossible. Unlike Medium or Light, Heavy has enough health to make up for that weakness. It would work very well as a support weapon that can help teammates but not win fights on it's own. Unlike BFR, Pike can engage further enemies but becomes useless at close range due to scope and bad hipfire. On Medium that already makes it unviable, but on Heavy at least that would still be amenable.

So Pike would be less useless on Heavy. Since it's already bad, no rebalance would be needed. Just resizing and animation retouch to fit Heavy, is all.

@cinder cloak Wouldn't really apply for Heavy, cos they already play sniper Light.

Also, add double jumps, wallrunning and explosive self-knockbacks for all classes so that everyone can zip across the arena like TF2 (Titanfall and Team Fortress) characters.

Definitely agree, right now some melee weapons have unviable secondary abilities which means that the most effective playstyle is to m1 spam and ignore the secondary. This is obviously bad because it's linear and has a lack of identity/variety — literally every melee weapon does that. If m1's were worse but secondaries are better, that literally results in m1 spam being less viable and some other secondary playstyle being more viable which is the solution right there. Just imagine a hypothetical scenario where Sword m1 is rebalanced lunge and the secondary is a weaker m1, that playstyle would be so wacky and different compared to current Sword and every other existing melee weapon just because the "primary ability" m1 doesn't follow the standard of the old melee m1's.

I do agree that melee should definitely be more tech oriented but techs are always janky to do. Embark's philosophy is to remove techs, and your philosophy is to focus more on techs. For me, it's better to look behind the purpose on why a tech is used and then implement it into a feature if possible.

For example, people use Spear Spin Animation Cancelling. Why do people use it? > Spin is not versatile. Ok just make Spin more versatile. Congratulations, we now have a solution that makes the tech obsolete by doing everything the tech can do but more consistently, balanced, enjoyable and intended. Action cancelled Spin is definitely a different playstyle from old Spin but it's more enjoyable despite being unintended, so just remove old Spin and rebalance new Spin around being versatile FAIRLY because it's more enjoyable if it were intended that way rather than removing it or leaving it glitchy and unintentional.

I would love to have a rework for the leaderboard and objective score tracking in Power Shift.

The current state seems to just reflect the objective Score ingame on the leaderboard. Objective Score in Powershift can only be achieved with sitting on the platform.
While it is obvious, that moving the platform is literally the number one objective, there are other things that are important for the objective of actually moving the platform too and should be rewarded with objective score in my opinion.

Possible actions that __could __ also earn objective score:

  • killing players on plat
  • killing players while standing on the plat
  • killing players near the plat
    (these actions get partly rewarded with objective score in point break too as far as I know)
  • healing on plat
  • blocking damage on plat
  • destroying gadgets on plat
  • aps usage on plat
  • etc.

There needs to be a better auto-moderation system or exploit detection system, consistently I’ve been paired up with cheaters or exploiters making the game unfun and insanely boring.
Last game I went up against a bow cheater likely using macro or something else to double shoot their shots without doing full draw resulting in them doing double the damage a quick draw w/o full pull would normally do, or perfect aim from super far away whilst using a full-auto gun/sub-machine gun (starlight hollow Point Break C to E, the farthest away from C. We captured all of the points in the 2nd round just about so no it wasn’t when the round was just beginning).

Just overall the game is slowly getting more and more unfun due to the sheer number of obvious exploiters that don’t get punished for it.

In THE FINALS, there are matchups where weapon compatibility can create overwhelmingly one-sided encounters. Personally, I think that’s part of the game’s appeal, so I don’t see it as a problem.

However, there are times when all three other teams just happen to have unfavorable matchups against us. In World Tour, you can swap weapons, but in Ranked Match you can’t. In those situations, we just end up losing RS for no real reason.

So I’d like to have a one-time option in Ranked Match to swap to one pre-selected weapon while wiped out.

I think this would be a useful feature to slightly reduce the impact of unlucky team composition matchups.

Can we add more tunable sensitivity modifiers for individual zoom / magnification lengths of each sight? For those of us that do want a difference between 1.5x and 2x, but find the difference caused by enabling the focal length scaling option far too drastic / not what we want.

Id like the power to control sensitivity individually, a slider for each scope, similar to how Rainbow Six Siege does it in the advanced settings

Developer arrogance made them believe that their game was so special that kills weren’t an accurate metric of skill (OGs will remember the pathetic little letter to the community about this). atp Finals should add a secondary weapon slot like literally every other multiplayer fps.

Just add a Weapon Sling gadget like Ballistic from Apex Legends, taking up 2 slots, that lets you carry a 2nd weapon with 60s cooldown between swaps, but 30s for melee weapons. No same weapon category between them, to avoid cheese strats.

Alternatively add a Weapon Briefcase like Hitman that takes up only 1 slot, but in exchange, you take 3 seconds to swap to the other weapon and guns always swap with empty reload.

So you get an option between 2 guns and 2 gadgets, which is literally like Apex Legends, TF2 and even some heroes in OW and Marvel Rivals. Alternatively you can carry 3 gadgets instead with the extra weapon, but you lose the ability to bring it out in the middle of a fight. Either of them would help out players from those games giving Finals a try, and not delienate them hard enough to chase them back to what they play.

A balance between team utility vs. combat flexibility between contestant loadouts, would improve weapon variety too by making underused niche weapons actually worth picking for ranked matches. Overall, everyone gets something out of it.

I think a good QoL change for all Heavy players who use Barricade; the barricade always prioritises picking it up instead of reviving a team mate or stealing a cashout whenever your crosshair is anywhere near your own barricade.

It's very misleading to know where you can or cannot look to pick up your barricade, it costed me quite a few games where the last seconds matter and I'm caught up messing with my own barricade instead of what I intended to interact with.

Even if it's not 40Āŗ, if any aim lock exists, sword will have the most idiotic handling. Since the rotation clamp is clearly the biggest thing that makes the weapon unusable, it shouldn't exist at all. You should just revert sword back to how it was in S1,S2 , when there was no multi-hit. Sword back then was a bit weak, but that’s okay. wtf is that why when we are in overtime and there's less than a minute you guys decide it's ok to be spawned like when we only have 30s to play at the other cashbox 200m away ??? What is going on like how do you want to have a good player base with that it's not possible of course you can't play the game until the last second with that kind of gameplay....It's not even hard like you just have to get that when we're in overtime and there no cashout left only the one still going on, let us spawn 80/100m of the cashout not at the cashout which is 200m away and without any cashout to put it in....

I'm here to suggest something to bring steam item collectors to "the finals". My suggestions are:

Please bring steam trading cards
Steam points shop for animated pfps, backgrounds and so on.
Steam inventory so we can flex our items on our steam profile.

It doesn't, true, but it would address two of the biggest issues of the game: Players overwhelmed by other teams and their coordination, then quitting the game and going back to what they already play. Now I do hope you're not stupid enough to not actually understand why someone would want a secondary weapon slot, however a defeatist outlook that sticks to a "just fine" philosophy could be arguably worse than being stupid, so I'll just leave it at that.

The point is, Finals IS a mishmash of basically every other multiplayer fps, with class-based teamfights that also allow melee combats and fast-paced movement without dictating hard roles for players. Embark has used the term "Class Builder" and "Dynamism Shooter" when explaining The Finals.

They should not force all players to carry a 2nd weapon, but rather, let players who are more used to carrying a 2nd weapon, to do so at a cost. These other fps players, many of them come from aforementioned games where the standard loadouts are 2 weapons and 2 gadgets/abilities, 3 if you consider ults. These players do not want to juggle through 4 gadgets as it is the norm in The Finals, because they're not interested in learning complicated mechanics when they could instead be enjoying the simpler games they already play. For us, The basic 1 weapon + 1 ability + 4 gadgets loadout is more than good enough. But for the players who couldn't be bothered with that, let them have 2 weapons + 2 gadgets instead. Losing 2 gadgets is a very steep cost, basically losing out on half of the options during any fight. But for players who'd rather have a 2nd weapon to use and not bother with that extra utility, that 2 weapons and 2 gadgets loadout would be much more convenient for them without making them too powerful or too weak. Read again, it says OPTION to bring a 2nd weapon, not FORCE a 2nd weapon slot on everyone.

4 team matches are bad
Having 4 teams in a match often results in frustrating situations like:

  1. There's 2 teams fighting for the cashout, but suddenly the 3rd one appears. The "3rd one" often just kills one of the teams in their back, basically for free, because that one trio that is being "backstabbed" need to fight enemies on 2 different sides, which is unfair as hell.
  2. One of the teams just sits AFK on cashout because other 3 teams are fighting at the other side of the map.

These situations aren't rare, meanwhile the only "good side" of having so many players on one map is... double cashout?.. It's pretty funny when it happens but really, why is it a main gamemode for rating matches?

3v3 or even a quick cash would be a much better choices for rating battles. They don't have any randomness (when there's either a 3v3 or 3v3v3 or 3v0) by design, there's always a set amount of teams fighting for the cashout in 1 place.

So I would suggest just getting rid of rating penalty if you've played really good, at least on lower ranks like silver and gold.

I may be the best on my team, trying to achieve the victory by any cost and doing everything right, but game can always just magically screw me over and I will loose 500 rating points. AKA, often because of the reasons why 4 team matches are bad and also because of a bad luck on having bad teammates. Loosing the match because of my team being dumb and then loosing the rating as a result feels absolutely pointless and just stupid man :(

I don't want to search for the team by asking random people on discord to join and then just hoping that the stars will allign. I just want to join the game, and see that the game rewards me for doing great, not punishes me for having bad luck

If you queue for ranked, you want to see your ranked score after the match. So stop hiding it behind useless info screens. Display it first. You want to see how much rs was gained or lost how much you need for the next rank up.

You do not need to see the one passive rank you have throughout the time you play after every single match. World Tour is an amazing thing don’t get me wrong, but i’d rather have my ranked score displayed in a similar way instead.

Now i need to skip multiple different screens with info nobody genuinely needs, to see what happened to my ranked score after the game and frankly it gets very annoying.

At times i press skip and do you know what happens then? It skips everything. I don’t get to see the ranked score change UNLESS i open the game mode menu. What about when i press space or next too quickly to get past the unnecessary info? Same story. IN FACT, does it even show anything on a loss 90% of the time? How is it this inconsistent?

being able to switch to a second weapon immediately would lead to some genuine cancer loadouts (sniper + m11 with fast swapping should never exist) no matter how many gadget slots it took from the user

the swap being sluggish as hell would be a lot better as it would make the decision to switch or not much more impactful

but if someone can carry two weapons to be more versatile against bad matchups, so can organized teams , arguably with much more effectiveness than a solo queue trying to not get stomped. Would this change help casuals and newcomers as much as it would let three-stacks swap their strategy on the fly when they face counters ?

having a secondary weapon isnt a bad idea on its own, but the primaries in this game are designed from the foundation to be used alone
most gadgets are better when they're used when you're entering a fight, not in the middle of it, so maybe giving each class an offensive gadget that's actually useful while youre already being shot at would be helpful (kinda like the rpg in some circumstances)

Ok, lets say we give them the option to get a 2nd gun with them. What would result with the current state of the game is:

  • Every gun in the Game needs to be rebalanced
  • Ammunition economy would become meaningless in the game. Damage breakpoints are chosen so you have to hit your shots and in difficult situations be mindful of your reloads. If you could just switch to a secondary. Only way to not make it overpowered is to make the TTK even longer
  • Risk & reward of weapons become meaningless. A sledge Heavy has the risk of not being able to hit anyone over a few meters away, but gets the reward of Huge burst damage close range. That risk would just disappear, cause heavy can get a gun now.
  • If we switch out a gadget for a secondary, we are now missing a gadget that would have helped your team in the team game. You just support an egoistic playstyle only focused on kills reminiscent to an TDM game
  • It would not be a choice to take a second gun, it would be meta. You dont have to chose on maps like monaco anymore, if you take a medium range od close range gun. You just take both. + in duels in which raw firepower and positioning wins, the guy with 2 guns will most likely always win
  • Some guns arent designed to have a secondary. Take the DB for example. You get 2 shots, being able to kill anyone. If you now take a second gun with you, its basically a free no risk insta kill button.

We would need to find a solution for all of these problems before even thinking about adding a second gun.

Please add the diamond player card backgrounds and badges from season 1 and 2 it just doesnt make sense to leave this out just because playercards werent a thing back then. i mean u also added the "season 1 supporter" backgrounds to the game so why not the ranked backgrounds? this addition to the game would just be great
