don't know where else to post this so here are some headcanon ideas i have about the finals as a show

• each episode of the show consists of - assuming each episode is one hour long - a couple casual matches at the start and then a tournament at the end. alternatively there's episodes dedicated to casual matches and then a couple tournament episodes at the end of each season
• whenever a match ends everyone's weapons and gadgets dematerialise and they just get a couple minutes to talk to each other about the match or whatever before they're kicked out of the arena
• everyone on the gameshow has a kind of holographic hud on their arm that acts as/represents what we see on the hud in game. like it shows their health and gadget cooldowns and stuff

I don't think Scottie is in control, and it's not really implied that he is anyway. "Thanks to our hosts", "Thanks to our sponsors", various lines of his imply that he has an employer, or at very least an authority above him.

I also don't think the lack of focus on the losers implies anything like a hunger games scenario, very rarely on game shows do you get much more than a "Thanks for having me on the show!" from losing contestants.

I still don't see it. Ever notice in the "Offline" video, that he says

and June says

Anything strike you a little odd about that exchange? The first note is that he doesnt say "Spuze" or "Ospuze", he says "Ospuze Pro Juice!". This is something you would do if contracted with a sponsor. Second is "You actually drink that stuff?" She can't believe his actually drinking the sponsor beverage. Every time he says "Ospuze Pro Juice!" on air, or drinks one live, he probably gets a little kick back. He's doing this offline, to keep himself in the habbit. If he were an "A-Tier" celebrity, he'd have money coming out his ears and wouldn't be worried about that little kick back. He'd be performing as natrually as possible, to ensure the viewers are able to connect with him more as a real fan of the show, rather than a guy getting paid to host it.

It's a small thing but Scottie really doesn't strike me as "in charge".

Tin Foil Hat Time: this white rabbit has more meaning then you think. i believe its a reference to the original first matrix movie where a hacker (in this case probably CNS) used it as a way to get in touch with NEO who was trapped in the matrix (in this case probably the finals).

Can someone explain what lore we have gotten from solving the Easter eggs? I have been following the hunt for a while but I'm a dummy. Not looking for paragraphs of explanation (unless you want to 👀) just curious where we have gotten from this

Alright here's a theory: MultiCorp is not the original owners of The Finals nor are they its creators. We already know that a second entity called Discovery Corp has its name and slogan on the default weapon skins and the word Discovery appear in numerous points throughout The Finals. So what if rather than just creating the weapons, Discovery Corp created The Finals in its entirety, then was later taken over by or had The Finals taken from them by MultiCorp. Then MultiCorp was either too lazy or too cheap to bother removing all the references to The Finals original owner.

This takeover could also coincide with CNS' appearance, all of the advertisements in the game are for MultiCorp owned companies, so it could be that after Discovery Corp lost ownership of The Finals MultiCorp started putting in advertisements and sponsorships and aggravated CNS. It could explain why when CNS first started hacking the arena they first targeted the adds and sponsor websites and why SYS$Horizon has no advertisements at all instead with CNS opting to put their own logo in their place. CNS is simply trying to make the finals what they think it should be

IMHO i don’t think the current direction? of the like evil matrix, dodgy corpos, and noble hackers trying to make people see the truth is all that engaging. i thought it was just a silly little game show with no stakes and all fun :p sure that might not be a compelling narrative forever but also like, how can you justify that we keep playing the finals if the finals is some corrupt thing. break out of the finals by playing the finals? are we going to have a map where the cashout is replaced with a virus we inject in to the finals’ servers or something? you know what i mean. so yea really hoping they don’t lean too hard into that

The game's main gamemode is Cashout. It puts four teams of three players against one another as they race to make the most Cash before the timer runs out. Players obtain Cash either by killing other players or by taking a vault to Cashout Stations. This is actually just a glitch, I had it happen to me a while back with the Urban Samurai headgear where rather than having a description it just said "This is a longer description of what this selected or viewed item is and why a player should care. And reserve space for 3 lines minimum"

It could be that the members of the audience are really sitting in the grandstands , with their simulated body present in the same simulation as the contestants, just watching from a long distance.

I ask this because I remember Embark saying Recon Senses could eventually be reworked to return, but given it has been replaced by Demat for the time being, and gadgets have been shifted across classes.. is it possible that we would face removal of the CNS themed stuff on the next season since lorewise it would make sense if Multicorp eventually plugs security holes? Followed by them possibly returning under new names in the future to distance them from CNS origins

I think Vaiiya acts as virtual cybersecurity in the same way Holtow acts as virtual insurance. Basically rather than just trying to prevent hacks by CNS, Vaiiya could be acting as an armed security force that can be sent into the arena to eliminate intruders

Update on the black screen: in all the variations of monaco and skyway stadium we have the giant led screen off BUT i think i might have found something. Let`s start with Seoul. Seoul has one giant led screen on the central skyscraper with the video of the sponsor and similiar giant one are all across the border of the map. They are all OFF. But seoul has other led which can be found in Petronelle Plaza and they are smaller, about human size. They are all on and they show OSPUZE can with the pop pour perform phrase.

in S$S Horizon we have giant floating screen on the skyscrapers and in clear night variant in the red skyscraper we have a glitchy screen with CNS logo but if you wait the image turns into an ospuze can withe pop pour perform logo. In the sunny and sunset variant this screen turn into a simple cns screen with the phrase from cns with love

there is one skyscaper though the GREEN one who has a gigantic OSPUZE AD screen on it no matter the variant

so my question is: if CNS is here to change the game and they have obscured the sponsor, why they didnt obscure OSPUZE?

Have you guys ever considered that the "Virtual Extension" skins for multiple guns can be related to CNS. I'm pretty sure that the first one appeared after the first CNS glitched intro. My theory is that all the hacking has cause real life to leak into the game and possibly the game to leak into real life. They also appear in the game without any notice, not in the trailers or patch notes
