@ruby sage To reinstall SSS using the GAMMA launcher:

  1. Go to your GAMMA\downloads folder and delete ScreenSpaceShaders_Updatex.x.zip
    (x.x. means version number, and yes delete them all if you have multiple of those zip files)
  2. Download the mod file from moddb. DO NOT EXTRACT. https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly/addons/screen-space-shaders/
  3. Place the downloaded file into your GAMMA\downloads folder.
  4. Open the GAMMA Launcher, and uncheck/disable these options:
  • Check MD5
  • Force git download
  1. Click "Install / Update G.A.M.M.A."

  1. Move your GAMMA and Anomaly folders to their new location
  2. In your GAMMA folder, find and delete the file ModOrganizer.ini (this is a config file, do not delete the .exe file!)
  3. Run ModOrganizer.exe (from the GAMMA folder), and direct it to the new location of your Anomaly folder
    Remember that you cannot put Anomaly or GAMMA in these locations:
  • your Users folder or subfolders, Desktop, Downloads, Documents, OneDrive, Program Files/Program Files (x86), etc.
  • Folders with Cyrillic (а-я), or other non-Latin alphabet (語) or special symbols (,;?!) in the name

Hey guys I need help. I’ve applied the busy hands fix about 100 hours ago in my 200 hour play through. I was suddenly greeted with a broken health hud out of nowhere after loading my save.

I can still access my bag and items and I can still transition around the map and it goes away after entering a new part of the zone. I have to start a new save yes?

Hey folks, I've got a unique problem:
A friend is attempting to setup GAMMA and went through GOG for it, and he keeps getting "Fatal Error: not in a git directory" when attempting to do anything with the Launcher upon initial install

No there is not a log that we have which can provide anything, as it's just a command line log for launching Anomaly

If anyone has any ideas, ping me with it. We're gonna try to do a clean and fresh install the old fashioned way instead of trying to work it through GOG

Did you try this? from arrival's description on moddb

Make sure you properly REMOVE Dynamic Anomalies Overhaul if you already have it installed!

In MCM under DAO you have options you can tick to remove the old anomalies from the game and make a clean save.

Do that first, remove old DAO from Mo2 and then install Arrival - Anomalies.

In case you already messed up, follow these instructions to make sure your save is clean and ready for Arrival:

  1. Remove Arrival and turn back on Dynamic Anomalies Overhaul.
  2. Turn on debug mode.
  3. Open your game.
  4. Load your working save where you played with old DAO
  5. Go in MCM and under "DAO" tick those boxes for disabling and removing anomalies, and the box that makes a clean save after anomalies are removed.
    They are named like this:
  • Save Game After Anomalies Removal
  • Disable New Anomalies
  • Delete Dynamic Anomalies
  1. Don't save or leave game.
  2. Go to another area, just walk until you leave the area you are in right now
  3. Once in another Area press F7, and on right upper corner under "Execute Action" find "spawn psy-storm" and click it.
  4. Find a place to hide and wait for the game to save automatically
  5. Once it does, quit the game.
  6. Uninstall DAO from Mo2.
  7. Install Arrival choosing whatever options you prefer.
  8. Start your game and load that save the game previously made for you during psy-storm.

Turn your anti virus and firewall off (Defender, McAfee, Norton, etc) temporarily to just update / download the GAMMA mods and when done, turn it back on.

I've encountered a bug with the "War within" quest (saving rogue after strelok during afterglow). The quest doesn't start at all, I managed to find Rogue in the kindergarten but he won't send me any message
I saved Stitch first, and when I found Rogue he was being ganked by psysuckers on the second floor

Hi all, would anyone be able to assist me in identifying what's causing my game to crash soon as I click the 'play' button from the anomaly launcher? The last in-game thing I did was enter Radar for the first time. Roughly 30 or so hrs into the playthrough. After I closed the game and tried to run it again, I get a brief black screen then the game just closes. No in-game menu appearing.

Currently the anomaly launcher will open, but when I click play the screen goes dark and the in-game menu doesn't open. Just crashes out. I tried attaching it but it did not send either.

  1. Collapse the categories in MO2, by sorting mods by Priority and close the categories by using the arrows on the left side (first picture for reference below).
  2. Screenshot your MO2 by using Shift + Win + S.
    Do not crop too much, your MO2 screenshot should look like the second picture below. ⠀ ⠀

@mystic prawn "Busyhands" is the name of a bug that softlocks your game by preventing you from performing basic game functions, common signs include:

  • Broken health HUD (all red)
  • Can't do any animated actions (use meds, eat food)
  • Crashing on area transition
  • Can't open inventory
    Highly recommend turn on 412- Busyhands Detection and Blame - RavenAscendant mod to detect if it is really busy hands, and if so then which script caused it. Also keep it on to prevent further long term busy hands that make you lost a lot of progress. Noted that it can't 100% detect all busy hands, so common sense is still the best way

If you have it, reload an older save. Eventually this may not work anymore, you'll be in permanent busy hands, then it's time to start a new game. Read more here: #╭📖faq message

Hello, Im having performance issues with the game on my desktop rig. I have high end specs but my GPU and CPU are running on very low load when in game (15% GPU and 10% CPU), any tips? I installed the game the same way I did on my laptop while I was traveling and that ran completely fine

Assuming you are on the latest version of GAMMA, try any one of these at a time (in no particular order) to see if it helps with stutters or microfreezes:

  1. Bring your modlist back to default (type !default in #🤖bot-commands )
  2. If you have a NVIDIA GPU, you can enable Triple Buffering, and set Low Latency Mode to Ultra in NVIDIA control panel
  3. Open Anomaly Launcher via MO2 and tick Prefetch sounds
  4. If you have a beefy GPU, use Anomaly (DX11) (no avx)
  5. Try using Meatchunk's prefetcher for G.A.M.M.A (needs 12Gb of Free RAM), in the Alternative Addons & Patches category (only works on vanilla GAMMA, may break with custom mods, recommend having a total of 32GB RAM)
  6. Activate the Turn this on if you stutter mod to alleviate stutters while losing some FPS
  7. Consider looking at #╰⚡fps-optimisation for a performance boost, if that channel is locked go here to unlock: #⏩start-confirm
  8. In game, go to Settings > Modded Exes > Optimization > Lua Garbage Collector and increase this bit by bit until microstutters/freezes stop. Default value is 300, people seem to find that 750-800 is the sweet spot, this will depend on your hardware

  2. How many active mods do you have in MO2?
  3. Do you see any ❌ in MO2 under Flags next to any mods (like the image)?
  4. Which version of DirectX are you trying to use? Either directly in MO2, or through the Anomaly launcher.

If you get the error 1364 "The application made a call that is invalid...", try the following in order until the error is resolved:

  1. Try restarting your PC.
  2. If restarting your PC does not help, try disabling the applications with overlay (Discord, MSI Afterburner, etc.) as well as applications like Wallpaper Engine etc.
  3. If disabling software does not help, temporarily switch to DirectX 9 (use !dx in ⁠https://discord.com/channels/912320241713958912/1012510897136222293 for instructions on how to switch).
    After a certain amount of time, you can try to revert the changes and switch to DirectX 11. The bug may be fixed.

i found that out when looking at the installer log it would hand with nothing happening in the task manager when there should have been disk usage

i manually copied the files from the addons to mods folder reluanched and installed the files with the force zip unchecked and now it works

If you have "dubious ownership" error, do the following:

  1. First close the GAMMA launcher.
  2. Go to GAMMA/Grok's modpack installer/resources and run git-bash.exe as administrator.
  3. Copy and paste the following command:

git config --global --add safe.directory '*' and press Enter.

  1. Now close git-bash and run GAMMA Launcher as administrator again and click install.

If this does not work, delete the individual folder(s) mentioned in your black window of the GAMMA launcher (see image) and run another update in the launcher ⠀

Hi, I followed the instructions to update from the G.A.M.M.A. Launcher, then deleted the shader folder in anomaly/appdata and after reloading my last save my AUG A3 (9mm) which had a 1x-4x scope attached to it just disappeared from my inventory (equipped slot empty). ¿Could this be a known problem? ¿Maybe related to 3D Shader Scopes being updated to the latest version?

I already tried loading an older save where I hadn't bought that specific scope from Sidorovich yet, the buy interface showed the same scope in Sid's inventory as compatible, bought it but when I tried to attach it to the AUG it didn't work. Then F7->item spawned a new AUG A3, but got the same result.

Do the following to get an FPS counter on GAMMA 0.9.4:

Download and install this addon: https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly/addons/simple-fps-monitor (In MO2, press CTRL+M, select the zip file, install and enable).
Once installed, load into your save and press F11 to open the ImgUi menu, then in the upper left corner select File > FPS Monitor > START MONITORING

Alternatively use external FPS counters like NVIDIA Overlay, MSI Afterburner, etc. or re-enable Reshade by following !reshade command in #🤖bot-commands (Reshade does take some FPS away, so it's up to you)

my game can't start i click play on gamma launcher and mod organizer pops up then i click run and its opens anomaly launcher and i click play stalker anomaly then after 5 seconds this litte window with anomaly stalker pops up and nothing starts after the window has closed itself

Before clicking install/update Gamma turn off File Shield and Web shield (in Avast) for more than 10 minutes. Or just turn off Avast entirely (preferably permanently).

Well, I got this game on GOG and it worked perfectly fine for over 3 days before the game just magically decided not to even launch anymore. Despite several reinstalls, updates and everything else I can think of - ModOrganizer just refuses to even open, let alone the rest of the game. Any idea what to do?

i have a quest for delivering a package and a quest for dute but i joined freedom since so i don't think i can finish this one, i've found that this command: task_manager.get_task_manager():set_task_completed("") will finish the quest but i need to put it's name in those quotation marks. does anyone know how to find a task name?

I'm playing on a vanilla gamma install. Im having issues with quest markers randomly disappearing. Im wondering if this is a known issue and if theres any solution for it. Im aware everyone suggests to use a mod to remove the task, but im wondering if thers any way to fix a missing quest marker.

Hey guys. I've decided to return to GAMMA and since its been a year since I played, I re-installed both Anomaly and GAMMA (The new versions) but I've been struggling with installing GAMMA by always getting the "Fatal: not in a git directory" . I tried the GAMMA V8 fix guide as well installing github-large archives via ssh, followed each instruction to the letter and it keeps giving me the error. For reference, my launcher version is 8.3. Anyway I could get this fixed?

I just figured it out after a full day of messing with it. I've reinstalled C++ already but doing it yet again has somehow fixed it. I really really hate windows, I can't wait for the steam machine to come out so I can never give those greedy idiots a dime again

@terse moth You'll need to screenshot your MO2. To do that, follow below:

  1. Collapse the categories in MO2, by sorting mods by Priority and close the categories by using the arrows on the left side (first picture for reference below).
  2. Screenshot your MO2 by using Shift + Win + S.
    Do not crop too much, your MO2 screenshot should look like the second picture below. ⠀ ⠀
