The thing is if you press “v” after the fish bites it should not just pull the road out but should instead initiate fishing mini game.
First double check key binds, maybe some of them interfere with each other. I would also try changing tool use key setting back to left mouse button and check if you manage to fish that way.
Try #💻│tech-help and when you describe your issue make sure to mention the key bind situation and that it work properly with every other tool.

hey, is there any way to affect chances of epic fish? I've been fishing in Zeki's underground and there's often some people that get void rays like every 2nd or 3rd cast

I haven't seen it in more than 200 casts, but I can see some people that literally catch three of them in couple of minutes

It depends really on rng, but I found Obsidian in Bahari to be the easiest out of all 3. Not sure why though and then Caldera took a bit but got them too. The Rainbow Kitsuu plush I still haven't obtained yet and I've been moderately grinding for the past week or since the update to no avail still.

Obsidian I got using 3 ore compasses. Caldera I spent a good few days or so grinding I think.

Yeah it's all going to be rng based. In my experience I got the Caldera in KV rather quickly within 200-300 ore probably, but the Obsidian in BB took me well over 6000 ore and the same with the Rainbow in EW. Haven't been back for round 2 yet on them

The Angler's Fortune potion was super helpful for me. The first time I used it, I got 5 Maws in the 3 hours. The second time I used it, I got 3 Maws in 3 hours. It definitely helped more than just fishing alone without the potion at least for me.

One way to save worms is to not reel in everything that bites. Only reel in the fish you are going for, let everything else swim away and then recast your line. This doesn't use glow worms.

once a fish bites you can see what it is, then if you wait a second or so it will go back down into the water, then you can recast to get a different fish :)

I just tested it, you are right, in inventory screen on the left you can only move them around. maybe try that?
I swear I used to be able to unequip them.
Other options might include: craft another makeshift and try upgrading that (you can always destroy a thing, if you wouldn't need it anymore).
If none of those help, please contact support. there might be a problem we cannot fix.

Bahari along the coast. If you use glow worms you can get yellowfin tuna, Black Sea Bass, and Cactus Moray and they are all pretty good for income.
I do that when I'm working to get gold for house pieces or to upgrade my storage chests.

There was like 150 gems or more on the tables that is caused my game to crash and when I loaded back in most of the gems were missing, but after I checked again they reappeared and I was so scared for a moment.

so, i popped one. thats all i got. a single majari of war and no maws. i got the maws plush, but three straight hours of fishing and no maws

I got to know where you were when you did this, because I just did it and I didn't get a single one. I was at the docks

So I rotated locations between the Deep Woods river/water area, and then the rocky area near the secret cave entrance at the docks (if you went to the docks fast travel, it would be the coastal edge to the right of the docks fast travel). I fished in each location for about 15 to 20 minutes, and only stayed on 1 server for 1 hour. So I was keeping movie rather than 1 server and a few locations. I have found, personally for me, that moving between deep woods and docks probably gives me the best outcomes overall. Long time ago, a fellow Palian told me to also switch servers when trying for the epics and don't stay in one spot too long, so I still employ the server switching today.

I don't know if these things actually help RNG or spawn chances or not, but, I do have good outcomes when I do use those tactics.

Okay, that's good to know and I will keep that in mind for the next time I try. I definitely forgot about server swapping for the first hour and a half unfortunately, so I was pretty stagnant on my server just switching locations for a while.

For me personally, I have much better Maws chances in the deep woods so I tend to stick in that area for longer periods of time. When I did my first potion where I got 5 Maws, 4 of them were caught in deep woods in the first two hours, the last one caught at the docks in the last hour of the potion. I can't remember how the second set were split up, but basically averaged 1 an hour on the second time, which I think is probably more representative of the added bonus of the potion. I think my first go around was the potion + some good luck on the server that day.

Okay, good to know. I've seen a couple mahari of wars pop up in the coastal area at the docs you're talking about, which is where I mainly was, which is where I got my mahari of war. But yeah other than that no luck. I was half tempted to switch off to trying to get my star quality mermaid lol, cuz it was frustrating me

I did notice a much, much better spawn of Majiri o War when I was fishing with the potion though. I didn't reel them in bc I wanted to save my worms, but I was hooking them more often than without the potion, at least on my first use.

I haven't tried the potion with other epics, but, I am inclined to feel like the potion would probably have a better, noticeable affect on epics like the ancient, Goldie, mermaid, LNUF, etc.

Crops. Crops are really good for making money. You dont have much of a turn over at first, but once you get going with plenty of seeds, you can start using the preserves jar and making preserves which are good, but they do take a bit. Thats why everything else thats common and uncommon you can sell, cause its not much but it gives you stuff

And even the rare stuff, you can sell as long as you have at least one saved already. I wouldn't say stock everything, but definitely at least one. The preserves jar you will get later, with progress lol Don't worry

Just do what you can to start leveling up, cause the more you level up the more access youll have to better tools and such. Try not to sell the ores because youll need those to upgrade things, but if you start getting an excess then sell them for money. But honestly, just have fun. If you start finding yourself getting stressed, ask for help. The community is awesome with helping people

In the underground, regular worms. Once you fished from all the nodes, enter Zeki’s office (it’s also in the underground) and exit, the nodes will reset. Rinse and repeat. The flying batfish is the easiest uncommon to get in my experience. Lake shark in Ew is also easy to get, especially with glow worms. But underground one is better since you also get fishing speed buff from other players fishing there and it’s also easier to catch batfish than lake shark, skillwise

I did fish a lot for the mermaid to finish the bag, and then I used one potion to try and get maws, but I didn't get it with the first one so a couple days later I got another one when the bundles updated, and I did my fishing and I got the starred maws, so I took a break for a little bit and managed to get the starred mermaid, and then went to bahari for a little bit because I had an epic fish there that I needed and wanted to use the potion on it. That's how I ended up completing bahari and kilima fish first.

Im pretty close to being done with them tho, which excites me. Im really looking forward to it honestly. I still need all the starred hunting drops tho, which is NOT fun lol

Fr, the very 1st time I got one on the line I was wholly unprepared as I was fishing for something else entirely (umbraan betta I think?) and lost it cause it keeps hopping all around the place. The 2nd and last time I got one, I was more prepared as I was fishing for it specifically, but even then the only reason I didn't lose it is cause I had the major size hook and fisherman's brew active. Thankfully it was starred so it counted towards both fishing achievements

i'm on pc and almost always use fisherman's brew when i fish. i always have 10 in my pack because i just need the size boost. and yeah my issue is my reflexes suck with them
i had no issue reeling in the mermaids. they were a bit tricky, but they didn't move as quickly and also their animation isnt nearly as distracting as the lake shark flopping all over, which i think also contributes to the difficulty for me. mermaid was a tiny bit tricky, but i was able to keep up with it. lake sharks feel like i'm fighting for my life 😂

The lake sharks have more of a pattern to their movement than mermaids. Not exactly the same, but like "move to the side, jump in opposite direction for a while, move to the side, jump," etc. If you can catch mermaids, you can catch lake sharks, just gotta get used to the pattern, and make sure you don't hold down the button while they're jumping (but you prob already know that if you can catch other jumping fish).

i think my issue with the lake shark is they are so much more "showy" with the jumping animation than the mermaid so i get distracted and overwhelmed by their physical movement and lose sight of my bobber amongst all the jumping and flapping.
i also think the lake shark just moves faster than the mermaid and my reflexes can't keep up 😦 i do plan on maybe experimenting with my mouse settings to see if that will help
but thank you! i think just trying to learn their pattern is my best bet, if i can commit the pattern to muscle memory

Hey, guys! I'm trying to finish Master Fisher achievement and have a question concerning fishing in bubbles. I'm grinding Bahari rivers and really annoyed. The biome itself is so small, spots are so scarce, and it seems like it has some pattern in spawning. I usually fish in the Keep, but every time I try to catch a Duskray, bubbles just disappear. Looks like they're not spawning there from 6 to 9 PM at all. Is it right? Or it is a bad RNG?

So, here's my small research concerning reeling starred fish at Bahari River biome that is P A I N but still, I've found something useful. Bubble spot pattern really exists!

Most of the fish that are not attached to exact time periods are pretty easy to farm daytime (6 AM - 6PM) at Flooded Fortress waterfall areas, just run from B5 to B6, repeat, there are usually 3 or 4 present bubble spots at the moment. The method of running 150 meters out of the spot to respawn bubbles works almost perfectly and does it's job. Just be persistent and you’ll succeed. At 6 PM this zone became dramatically less abundant.

Duskray (6 PM-9 PM) is possible to reel at B5-B6 too, mostly at B5, because B6 spawns just 1 spot at this period. Most of the spots at the river stretched from Thorny Thicket to Statue Garden are useless at that time. You can find 1 or 2 bubble spots all along the river starting at D2 top waterfall and that's all. Better use reel - run 150 meter - reel method at B5. I usually run till B6, that's enough. There are usually only 2 or 3 spots but still, it is something. I’ve finally got my Duskray there.

Stormray (3-6 AM) is on the opposite, better to be farmed at Statue Garden, a well-known small island at G3. It usually contains 4 bubble spots, two are visible and two - situated down the river lower the island - are not. There’re no bubble visuals. You can recognize them by fishes jumping out of the water and try to shoot them for luck. Then run 150 meters to Coral Shores waysign and repeat. I haven’t succeeded yet, but at least I’ve got the system. At 4 AM only one bubble spot stays there. And that's all. That's all we have. But hope is still there XDDD

And I forgot to mention - it might sound obvious but still - remember that 3 in-game hours are just about five (or a bit more) IRL minutes. Do not spend your time - and worms - on reeeling the fish you don't need. Let it go. It will give you some time savings and maybe one extra reel-run-reel round.

Platinum is a rare ore to come across but do look out for the in game chat while in elderwoods, people do let chat know when they see platinum. If your mining level is 8, you can buy the ore compass recipe from Hodari and craft it. It takes you to large ores, but it tracks regular stones too, there is a chance you’ll come across plat ore with the ore compass activated

u were in the map that has that blueish ore yes (had many poeple miniing on the wrong map for it ...)
platinum is gray rock with greyish white metal to it looks very much like stone rocks (to many couldnt tell the difference and i cant blame em)
nodes despawn after being mined and might get stuck in place poeple dont walk passsed often if noone clears the less popular places
or u could end up trailing someones mined path at a timing of them despawning
asking in the server chat if someone could tell u were one is can often help
rocks/ores are pretty much always next to a wall or cliff

Small shiny pebble is from mining. While other pebbles are easy to find, only the smooth pebble will take awhile or year(s) to get, which is gathering unopened oysters, which you do know about. Almost a year playing and still no smooth pebble 😮‍💨
