My guess would be because it takes a sweet leaf; if you do not have overprep sweet leaves, you risk running out of sweet leaf required for your batters, etc.

Some parties may not have extra sweet leaf roles, and you need at least 4 to make the recipe work. It's just safer to use the overprep that won't effect the end result of completing the recipe usually 🙂

Potentially dumb question - I’ve done lots of cooking parties and such but what exactly does “pre chopping” flow trees mean when it’s part of a cooking party?? And “bring lots of focus food”…. Like is it only to level up foraging or do you get flow wood?? I feel silly

there's a bug/glitch were you can get a ridiculous amount of XP for "charging" flow trees. after the cooking the host will tell everyone to 1 hit the flows. then they will chop them and you will get the wood and level up forage A LOT

Just keep farming the star and infected spots in salt water. I would start at the docks sign, get the multi player boost where everyone fishes at the broken boat, fish down the coast, and hunt ogapu running back up. Sometimes divert to fallen aqueduct in deep woods but tbh I usually needed the fishing break. Since you want a starred and infected eventually anyway, just keep fishing the special spots.

Maws is a very rare catch, so make sure you’ve got at least fisherman’s brew, and preferably other boosts…. But it is too expensive to keep Einar hook boosts imo, MAWS has the same pattern as lake shark so you will know it by heart by the time you hook one

You should’ve already done it. Tamala allows you to purchase potions from her shop that allow you to gather infected essence from plants and forageables for a certain amount of time. There are also items known as relics that help you with gathering infected essence. The one you will want to start with is the bag of illusions. The others will only be helpful to switch to if you are gathering essence in a party because each party member can hold a different relic to get all the buffs. In order to purchase a relic, you’ll need to complete and donate artifact sets to the designated area in the central stables of the Elderwood. There is an area in the Elderwood where Elouisa and Caleri will stand where you can purchase Elouisa’s fun bucks that allow you to purchase relics. There are 4 tiers for each relic that you’ll have to purchase. For the quest you’re on, you’ll need to upgrade one relic to tier 4. Again, I recommend choosing the bag of illusions and just buy all the tiers before you start worrying about the other ones

the point is... items that cannot be sold shouldn't count as items taking inventory space. It's not about just the bugs, but any item that cannot be sold.
