When hosting or participating in any cooking party, ingredients are only pulled from people's own inventory, and not yours for instance. As in, you would only be using ingredients you have, and others would be using ingredients they had. Hope that helps.

Picking a different path than what the parents had should be well-considered seeing how Reth suffers from having strayed away. Since we're playing humans only so far we don't get to choose one. And I doubt the devs will ever force us to make any such hard decisions since the gameplay is generally very "open" (and probably for the better). There used to be that unused "crafting profession" subwindow in the social panel when investigating people, but it looks like they patched that out.

If you stand high up on the mountain above central stables/proudhorn at 11:55 in game time, you will hear really clearly where they spawn, can hear it all the way from windy ruins to statue garden and even flooded fortress Try it next time you are able to and the direction the noise comes from is where the grove is
