The leaderboard for overworld runs is based on the quality of the things collected multiplied by a speed/time based multiplier bonus. Basically you have to do a stage 3 run to get on the top. Stage 0 runs do not earn points for the overworld leaderboard.

you should have a basic (stage 1) type first. Then youll need to construct another (same type). once you have the 2 you can deconstruct both for the drone components needed for advanced (stage 2).
Just dont sell both before having the ingots/ resources needed (if currently using) - otherwise youll shoot yourself in the foot

as i am playing, i am increasinglly aware of how much it would actually cost me to get to where i am at and I think for someone that comes to illuvium, just to play, it would be a very expensive game. fine if you're rich rich, but if you were not or perceived value differently, i think it might impact the game.
are the economics set up in a way that someone could plausibly spend 1,000 - 2,000 dollars for either lands or LP, staking etc to cover ongoing game costs in a realistic way?

its still a lot of money out of pocket, but people might be okay with it as whenever they get done with playing some years later, they can get their funds back essentially

Technically the passport wallet also works on imx mainnet. But illuvium has not changed the mainnet IlluviDex to work with passport wallets yet. Seems like a smart thing. Reducing the confusion.

Your understanding of the timing is wrong.

Airdrops
So first there is the Loyalty airdrop (50k ILV) which is already set in stone. Snapshot was taken on April 14th as a record of every wallet that has participated in the ecosystem.

Then there is the Testnet Beta airdrop (20k ILV) which is registered for using IMX Passport. 10k users will start getting into Beta 4 on the 30th of April (recently increased to 20k). Some of these users are selected based on previous activity and some are randomly selected from individual content creator's referal links. If you don't get in the first 10k users for PB4 Testnet, the Open Beta Testnet opens to everyone after about May 28. While the Testnet games are limited to a select few there is only a flat amount of points that those players will receive. Additional points will start being earned by players after May 28. More points will lead to receiving a larger portion of this 20k ILV airdrop.

Then after some more testing, there is Open Beta Mainnet, which everyone can play and offers the remaining 180k ILV in airdrops based on your interaction with the ecosystem. This one is where your illuvials and armor etc are actual NFTs on the main blockchain. The real deal. It’s the game launch.
