Illuvium
Illuvium is an open-world exploration, monster collector, and autobattler game built on the Ethereum Blockchain, closed Beta set to release on PC and Mac. Play-to-earn in a graphically-rich sci-fi adventure and conquer the wilderness to help your crash-landed Ranger thrive on an alien world.
There is an open-world experience in the overworld, where you travel, capture, and fight Illuvials, as well as mine and harvest resources. Once you have assembled your team, you can join the fray in the autobattler where you strategically build your teams to beat your opponents in battle. Illuvials possess unique stats, classes, and affinities. The synergy of your team—based on how you match their strengths and compensate for weaknesses—could mean a winning streak for you. ILV is not needed for playing Illuvium. ILV is an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain associated with Illuvium.
ILV has three main functions:
- Governance: Together, we have the power to shape the future of Illuvium through our community collaboration on game improvement proposals as well as electing the initial model of governance, the Illuvinati Council. ILV comprises voting power in the protocol.
- Liquidity Mining: Here, you will gain more ILV (or sILV). Staking ILV returns yield in the form of ILV, allows you to receive a share of vault distributions. Visit #🥩〕staking for more information.
- Vault Distributions: When you stake ILV, you share in Illuvium's success and earn a passive income of additional ILV, funded through in-game purchases and fees. Vault distributions will only be available from sales and once the game and Illuvidex are launched. 100% of revenue from the game and sales will be shared between ILV stakers.

We’re aiming to launch the Open Beta for Illuvium in 2023 on PC and Mac first.
Backed by the Ethereum blockchain, Illuvium gives you complete ownership over your in-game assets, unlike items purchased in traditional game companies which are generally not owned by you but licensed to you.
An NFT, or non-fungible token, is a crypto token representing a verifiably unique entity that is mutually interchangeable. Illuvials and other collectibles in-game, such as skins, that you purchase or earn are non-fungible tokens (NFTs) minted and stored in your wallet. Each NFT token is verifiable on the blockchain (essentially a public database), proving your ownership of that digital asset.
By having true custody of your assets—versus them belonging to the game—you have the power and freedom to collect and trade NFTs in the marketplace, even for real money.
Illuvium’s play-to-earn (P2E) features might be its most exciting. There are several ways you can earn money in Illuvium:
- Earn in-game rewards in $ILV through completing PVE quests, achievements, and tournaments
- Wager on battles in the Leviathan Arena (PVP Battle Arena)
- Trading captured Illuvials, farmed materials, and other collectable/crafted items on the Illuvidex, the in-game marketplace.
You begin our game with a free-to-play experience that immerses you in our richly-detailed world, lets you enjoy some action, and helps you understand how the game works. The free-to-play experience of the Tier 0 regions will familiarize you with Illuvium’s gameplay, and won’t feel like an abridged version of the game.
It is a full-fledged gameplay experience! If you like it, you can then decide to opt in to the paid experience, start collecting NFTs from higher tiered regions, and delve into deeper adventures to explore the mysteries of the game where the NFTs you gather start to hold more value as well.
