Land Sale Drops June 2nd

We appreciate your patience and are excited to announce the first Illuvium Land Sale begins on the 2nd of June at 13:00 UTC.
Secure one of 20,000 plots across seven unique regions and build your empire. Fuel is a critical part of the Illuvium economy and can only be extracted from Land.

Approximately 5% of all in-game revenues go to landholders.

We are confident that a Dutch Auction with a long duration is the best way to avoid a Gas War. To further reduce excess GAS spending, we implement a system that reduces the ability for two parties to bid on the same plot, minimising the number of failed transactions.

Next week, we release an article with all you need to know about the Land Sale.

For those in the community that won a spot into the beta, some of you might need to log in again. There was a hiccup in the process that limited the number of people that got through to the next step (roughly alphabetical).

You should now be able to log in and fill out the screening survey. This process helps us to decide who we should have 1 on 1 sessions with, as well as some other things.

From there we will review and integrate you into the beta, which still takes some time while we do it manually.

As always, bookmark our site and only go to it through your bookmarks. This way you can't be scammed by people sending you fake links

The nomination period for the upcoming Epoch 6 Illuvinati Council Election is officially open. It will be open for seven days and close four days before the voting period begins.

Nomination Period: 17 May - 24 May (4 AM UTC)

Voting Period: 28 May - 2 June (4 AM UTC)

All $ILV holders have the power to nominate candidates and vote in the election to choose the next five Council members of the new epoch. After the nomination period ends, we enter all nominees into a Snapshot for voting.

How to Nominate:

Submit your nomination on the website via Community → Governance → Nominations. Fill out the form by providing a brief bio explaining what qualities the candidate will bring to ILV governance, why we should vote for your candidate, a brief background on who they are, and what relevant professional crypto/DeFi/gaming experience they may have. (Bio limited to 300 words)

Use the #809220334862860299 for any discourse around the candidates or nomination process.

Only one nomination allowed per member.

You can nominate yourself or a fellow community member. When nominating another member, please have a conversation with them first.

Remember—an Illuvinati Council member always maintains integrity, offers transparency on their opinions, and acts with the best interests of the DAO in mind. They are responsible for voting on any proposals to the Illuvium protocol during the given epoch.

Our community is filled with strong, capable leaders, and we invite them to step forward to lead the DAO as Council Members. Their service facilitates positive changes that will improve the Illuvium ecosystem for everyone.

Voting Process Refresher:

DAO tokenholders and stakers can vote on Snapshot through off-chain signatures with quadratic weighting. This ensures that voting is fair and eliminates the power of sizable ILV wallet holders having too large of an impact on voting.

Once the election commences, a new proposal will open on Snapshot for you to cast your vote. You will need to connect your ILV wallet. No fees are required to vote.

Tier 5 Auctions Postponed

Our T5 Auction has a dependency on an external auction contract that is in wide use. We've just discovered a security issue that will effectively disable the T5 Auction, and we do not have time to move to another auction contract with discovery at such a late date.

We have discussed the issue with the Council, and they believe that as it only affects two plots of land in the sale, we should continue with the sale and remove the Tier 5 Auctions.

While it's certainly not ideal, compromising the security of our users is not something we are willing to contemplate.

We will announce the date of the Tier 5 plots once we confirm they have resolved the issue and the contract is re-audited.

239,388 sILV2 will be burned, reducing the total supply of ILV by 2.39%.

4018 ETH will be used to purchase ILV and distribute it to stakers.

The new list of beta entrants brings us to nearly 7K total!!!

The backend is becoming more confident, and we'll soon be able to open up the beta to all ILV holders.

We are building Survival Mode with PVP as fast as we can.

The Land Sale was the first of numerous product drops. On top of Survival Mode, we have Illuvium Zero, Illuvitars, Over World and Arena.

You have now seen the quality of products we deliver. We strive for the best but know that we can always be better. We will never delay development in seeking perfection (except maybe on the art side :P); this is evident with Staking V2 and Governance V2 (in-progress). We try to strike a balance between delivering fast and quality.

On a more personal note - the team is drained right now. We have hundreds of people working 12-hour days, six days a week. But we have not stopped pushing. We have gone straight onto Illuvitars, and the game team is deep into delivering the new Survival Mode. I ask that you please consider this when blaming the team for delays.

Imagine you are sitting there working your absolute ass off night and day, and you know you are creating something beautiful, but you constantly read chats about how it's delayed and costing people money. At first, it might motivate you, and you may be able to squeeze an extra hour into your day, but after a while, it begins to degrade you.

I would understand if we had more room to work harder, but we are already bursting at the seams. We are lucky that the team is strong under pressure, and everyone gets the mission, but please - if you want to see us succeed, I implore you to think before you type 'wen' in Discord.

I am also writing an IIP that hands the roadmap to the community, which I will post tomorrow. There is still the potential for things to delay delivery, but at least there will be a constant communication channel between council and team on wen. The team will feed the council intel on when products will likely be ready, and the council will decide when they launch.

Lastly, at 10:00 Monday, UTC, I will be running Trivia, giving away some pretty freaking awesome prizes. A T1 land, lizard, ILV, sILV2 and who knows what else I can find! Perhaps we break the general chat again @lone vigil 😉
