** To the north of the Obelisk we find the Abyssal Grove, the largest area of the region. This is a thick dense mangrove-like forest that spans the entire width of the region.**

At the middle of the Halcyon Sea is a remarkable structure.
The middle is the lowest point of the whole region, with countless streams and small waterfalls finding their destination in the absolute centre where the Obelisk stands tall.

A giant coral-like structure has begun to form on the outer ring, creating a dome around the whole area. It has massive holes in it, and it hasn't fully developed. Looking at it from afar, it is clear from the location and size of the gaps that the Obelisk's energy makes sure the Obelisk will never be locked away.

As we arrive at the Obelisk we see quite an odd sight to the East. It looks like a tunnel was cut through a forest.
The energy of the Obelisk has carved out a wide path that is clearly visible.
The Overhanging forest has not grown back to fill the void, as if fearful of reprise from the beam of the Obelisk.

Definitely one of the most passionate people I've ever seen and a huge asset for us on Illuvium as things start to go mainstream!

I can't share with you most of the stuff he's working on yet but it's incredibly exciting to see the improvements underway!

Even though this is an alien world, there needs to be some level of familiarity to the plants and vegetation, otherwise you get lost visually.
We have focused on all the largest/hardest plants first, but another big challenge is getting all the filler right.

There will also be custom skins like the pre balancer sale that I would assume are won in challenges or through in game rewards.

The most important elements in the overworld have a huge amount of detail added and we have been refining this for a couple of weeks.
@hallow pewter always has some crazy trick to get things looking even better also.

For those that haven't been here from the start, you may have missed when @lost abyss and @karmic elk joined the team.

Literally the best hair and groom artists in Hollywood joined our small crypto project. Unbelievable ๐Ÿ˜†

Never worked on a game before in their lives. Zero UE4 experience...

Now here we are just 12 months later and Illuvium has the best hair and groom in gaming thanks to them.

I can tell you honestly that nobody expected this but it just feels special to have so many different things like this occur.

While the Crimson Waste is being optimised and tested by the tech art guys, we have moved on with all other regions, each at different stages.
One thing we're really making sure to lock down is fun verticality in the maps.
We want the jet pack and boots to invite you into the world.
@still osprey is doing an amazing job on the Taiga Boreal region

One thing we've made sure to do on Illuvium is foster creativity so this piece (inspired by Pokemon) brings a lot of joy.

They are currently doing a first pass on the high res level.
From here, just like Crimson, we will do look dev tweaks, add lots of procedural details and then finally lighting/animation and VFX on the plants.

It's very easy to forget that a lot of stuff is still work in progress. It's one of the pains of sharing leaks as we get closer to release.

Make no mistake though, where things are weak, we upgrade and that's 90% of why things take longer. It might be frustrating at times but we refuse to Cyber Punk this.

We HAVE to get this right at all costs.

With that being said, the new movement mechanics are going to be unreal and our capture workflow is being worked on at last!

Flawless and manual low poly work in the games industry often goes unnoticed but these guys are the reason nothing in our game looks low poly.

Raw shard NFT art is under way.
After speaking to Ben and Aaron we decided it would be cool to add rare affinity and composite affinity shards as well as holo and dark holo in even rarer circumstances.

So there will be tier 1-5, holo, dark holo, 5 base affinity and 15 composite shards.
You will be able to fuse the base affinity shards also ๐Ÿ˜‰

Heaps of fun refining the Ascendant Arena (Ranked) @livid vessel made this week.

Everything scifi in our game is minimalist and clean. In order to become an E-Sport the aesthetic has to be easy on the eyes for long periods of time. By stripping back all high frequency details we end up with a style that is completely unique to Illuvium.
