Hi all. I've been playing in the arena for a couple of weeks now. We need to add a mechanic with banning opponent cards before the start of the match. As they do in Dota 2, they ban opponents' heroes. This will diversify the game and require more knowledge and experience. You get tired of playing against the Frost meta, which heals, damages and tanks a lot. Give the opportunity to at least somehow ban one card, at least for one round for variety.

when the game is out it will be balanced by AI, which can play millions of games in a day. It's likely that a banning feature won't really be needed

Gm @split lintel , I came here to search for xociety, and saw your message. I actually tried xociety other day for a few hours (and bought a few of the NFTs).

You spawn into a multiplayer spaceship area, where there is a shop, plus access to portals, you get to play as your NFT as the avatar. There are 2 types of games, with a few diff modes. There is an Overworld, not sure how big , maybe 10 mins of running to get around it? It's both PvP and PvE, so you can shoot anyone, but u can also shoot the creatures. They mostly stand around, but if u shoot them, they start running at you. If you get last hit on one, u get a bit of the off chain currency. From what I could see, no reward for killing others in this mode, and no drop loot, you also didn't lose your stuff, you just respawn after 10 sec at a portal.

There was also farming of resources, as you said, similar to ILV, just spend 10 sec holding F, and u get some random stuff, with about 4 diff types of plants/crystals to harvest. There was also one super tough boss guy you could fight together, and he had multiple high dmg moves. There was also a PvE Co-op mode, where you push the cart, in this case the creatures ran at you, shot from a distance, etc. There were gems on the wall to shoot to reduce your current cooldowns, and also green crystals to shoot to heal you. The enemies did damage to the cart and if it got too low, you lost. You could also get knocked out, but your team could revive you by holding F at your feet. There were some creatures who even looked like I think LYNX, and also a huge dragon boss to fight at the end.

From there, can craft cosmetics with the currency, some partners with pixelmon also for example. Then you could buy extra abilities, such as a turrent, or better weapons (either more machine guns/shotgun, OR snipers/rocket launchers, or melee). You needed the currency + specific amounts of materials. From there, there were 3 PvP game modes, Team Deathmatch, Free for all deathmatch, and a 3rd I didn't try...you also got the currency for that based on your performance I assume. These were compareable to Quake like gameplay.

Honestly, it got me thinking to imagine what it would be like to have #1 illuvials in the overworld to fight, #2 other players in the overworld, #3 a social area to hang out in (no shooting), #4 a PvE co-op, #5 PvP shooting. Obviously these can't be spun up overnight, but it would be clear that the team would already have a ton of the movement mechanics, shooting (to some degree), all of the illuvial creatures/animations. It would not be 'ez', but I could imagine it would be do-able at some point to make some version of these things, and I think it would be pretty fun tbh. Even an on rails shooter could be cool for a start, before making it free movement, or even a pokemon snap thing could be a cool little mode. Def checkout the footage or the game when it opens back up to get an idea. I had fun for sure, and I can easily see how ILV could make a far better version of it all. Oh, and the movement was walk, sprint, double jump and a jet like boost (yes, similar to ILV...no slide though).

They are 2500 NFTs at 0.07 ETH floor, looks like 6500 players (only holders + holders freinds with a code could play)--there is some kinda airdrop for testing, but given it was not open, makes sense. Just putting out my perspective and it's good to compare. They don't have any NFT creatures, they were just PvE fighting, can't have been more than 20 enemies different ones, if not less. And yep, I have listened to the AMA's, so know some of this is on the roadmap/In Progress, but def could be nice to have a look to see and imagine an ILV version...would be so much better tbh!!!

Having non-capturable creatures sounds not good, imo. The current idea that every creature/illuvial that you can find in OW (or even find in other Illuvium games) can be captured is much more appealing.

There is an old discussion about more engaging and fun tools for the OW. The hunting system is already a good response from those discussions, and I hope there are more ideas to come or even already in discussion.

But fighting non captures creatures will not bring too much value to the game, imo.

One idea that just came to my mind is putting climate and time events in OW (like day, night, or seasons climate changes) and make illuvials finding rate to be affect by those events (like a higher chance that some illuvial to appear at night). To be honest it would be nice if those rules to be applied for other games like ILZ.

Not only that, we know that there is a bonding curve that affect the finding rate of each illuvial in OW. The more players capture some illuvial, the harder to find that same illuvial next, and that affects all players. It would be nice if other games like ILZ to use that same bonding curve, like a shared bonding curve. In other words, capturing an illuvial inside OW will also make it harder to find it in ILZ.

Hi just curious I have been watching this curve regarding the growth of ILV token on the site, is it even accurate or it is an illusion to make me feel it is going up that fast? I was thinking maybe this kind of thing needs to be more accurate or just don't even put it up. This is just an opinion. Maybe it was done in good intension to make us feel better, but I don't think the case with ILV is actually what the curve is showing. Information show needs to be accurate I thought because it has to do with people's money and people are using the information on the site as factual information. I don't even think that curve is even necessary as a design stand point unless it is trying to convince me that ILV is guaranteed to go up.

New players will and are most likely frustrated with the complexities of the arena. Very excited but not knowing the game can be demoralizing and could kill any drive to play.
If there was a seperate arena for only new players, say for thier first 25 to 50 games? Or say the top 500 get moved into the main arena set? I believe this would be very helpful and would allow more growth versus facing some that have knowledge and they crush them. My thoughts

I don't think it's a massive loss because in the same way that Grant was an extreme perfectionist with his work on the art for Illuvium he was also a perfectionist when it comes to building up the art team. He told me his biggest accomplishment with Illuvium was building that team. He had also gradually been taking steps back and seemingly putting people in a good place to replace him effectively. I'm assuming this has been something he has been planning for awhile for what ever reason so him telling me this could have been coping for when he leaves but I highly doubt it. Grant came off as incredibly sincere when he said that to me. Rogier does a phenomenal job and I dont think anyone can disagree with that. My problem (if you want to call it that) is that Grant brought a sense of fun for me personally that is going to be sincerely missed. It honestly does really suck lol..

Dau for a beta doesn't matter. This is why it's a beta. To fix these types of bugs that we have right now. Personally I played for a month or so and stopped. Not because I didn't like the game but because I don't want to play something that is going to reset when we go live. Why burnout now? Especially when the game is going to change so much from now to then. I'm glad we have a loyal base that keeps playing to give the team feedback and data that they need to further develop the experience.

DAU and retention will be everything once we go live. That's just my opinion though.
