I really hope this update actually fixes the crashing on Xbox. Im was about to rage quit.

Because i crashed after tp'ing to a cave, crashed in the cave, died, crashed after spawning to my bed, crashed tp'ing back to cave, crashed in the cave, it was a miracle to make it back to my dead body before timer ran out, then crashed leaving the cave.

All just to get one artifact.

Not only is the crashing extremely frustrating. The process of trying to get back on to the game and back into the server is a nightmare in itself.

Just had a weird glitch. Can’t find anything about it on line. Had a giga with cryo sickness (the sleepy kind) and I wanted to get him out of danger so I cryo’d her again. When I got back to base I didn’t think anything about it and threw her out to wake up. She never did and starved 😢. RIP Athena lvl 204 giga. She was the bestest girl.

Honestly, I host my own servers on an old laptop so I don't have to pay anyone to host my server. the biggest thing about hosting your own server is it does take a decent amount or ram per map. If you have good internet it might be cheaper to buy a computer and host the servers yourself. I have a laptop with 64 gig of ram and I can host 5 servers at the same time with no issues.

@tawny wadi I use a dedicated server manager. It isn't necessary but it is helpful. The one I use ASA Manager. It does have a paid version which is up to you. It does a great mod manager system though that is part of the paid version. If you aren't using mods their are other options as well.

I would also say it depends on what you like/looking for. PvP if you are into raids and stuff and PvE if you want to explore the ins and outs of the game and be in a community.

It really depends on the experience that you are looking for, Single player/non dedicated can be fun if you like to play game alone. PVE or PVP if you want to play with anyone who happens to be on the server that you choose. Within PVP and PVE, you also have official servers and unofficial servers. Do you want a vanilla server or do you want mods? Last thing to consider, are you looking to play with just you and your friends? If so, the hosting your own server or using Nitrado to host a server is another option.

singleplayer is pretty buggy atm - if you can self host a dedicated server you can get around most of the bugs though. if you can run the game, and either know how to self host, or dont care about the bugs/cheat to recover stuff, then yeah you might as well get it

I'd like to know if it's worth buying ASA. (Currently half price on Steam). I've been stuck in ASE for about half a month now and am already eyeing the sequel. When I read the reviews on Steam, they're pretty dismal. There's talk of performance issues and crashes. Personally, I'd only play single-player anyway, so desyncing etc. isn't a problem. As for performance, I only have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core processor – is that sufficient?

it also depends on the resolution you want to play at, 4k or 1080p or 1440, i would check the recommended system requirements, but it will look good even on slightly lower settings.
though what i know is that it runs smoother on a dedicated server (offloads a lot of the load) so if you have a other system that can do that for you, or rent a server then it could be worth it

ark loads things in lots of places. if you play non-dedi and the second person teleports to you without being at the edge of the tether, its a load point. moving fast enough is an easy way to have it matter. mega structures loading as well
