It also seems that in the void quest we will live the story of Ninny from how she left her aunt's house and arrived in the moomin valley, that is, the void quests seem to be a prequel to the normal quests

They do, it's really interesting! I haven't read the story so I don't know how much detail is written, but in the episodes at least they didn't show her time before arriving it was just mentioned by too-ticky, so it's a really interesting way to have us interact with and see Ninny's experience firsthand as well as see her changes in moominvalley through the main quests

We could say that we are seeing Ninny's perspective in her aunt's house, she had a very bad time there and that is why she became invisible (what we see on the normal quest), so the fact that it is a dark and destroyed room helps us to understand more about what she went through

So basically if we look at the fact the dress is mouse grey there's a couple of things worth mentioning:

• grey is a dull and lifeless colour, which is why greyscale has been used to highlight Ninny's lack of confidence, feeling of being loved, safe, etc. in the seasonal quests and area
• anything mouse related tends to imply quiet, small, insignificant normally and given that Ninny has both lost her visibility as well as her voice it seems like her dress being mouse grey again really expands on her very demure- okay sorry no memes... It really is another way of indicating how small and fragile she feels

I would like to be able to visit the Moomin Village and the new season area as my skykid, not as a boring butterfly. I don't know if I can speak for all players, but for me it doesn't make any sense not to be able to visit the area as skykids and take pictures with friends. It's the only space with a more different design than what we have in the rest of the game, even the trees have leaves there. It would be a good place for picnics there. If we can only visit it as a butterfly, it will soon be another forgotten season area because there is nothing attractive about being just a butterfly. Why do we collect candles and buy in-game cosmetics and IAPs if we can't take nice pictures or walk with our skykids and friends in areas like this?

I've already done that. 😊 It turns out they won't listen if only one or two people give feedback on it. I enjoy visiting all the spaces in the game, not just logging in, candle run, and logging out. It's also part of the experience to be able to relax in beautiful areas and take pictures WITH our skykids.

If only one person gave feedback and complained, it wouldn't have drawn all this attention to the problems. And the whole thing would take a lot longer to resolve. If you want to leave things as they are in this future season, and do nothing, so that it later becomes another forgotten ghost area, fine. Once it's in the global version there will be no point in complaining. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can bring up a time my feedback made it into the game! While idk who all had the same idea, it was nice to see it get into the game. I mentioned I wanted to play music with spirits during days of bloom, and then the next spirit group event (sunlight) had us able to play music with spirits! so all feedback matters! You should feedback if you want to be able to enjoy moominvalley as a skykid!

Usually changes are made/things are added based on how much it is requested, and how much it is talked about, so we gotta do just that :3c

Clearly you have not been here during the cat hair controversy, there was such an uproar with it that it got to TGC. So they do in fact listen. It's just that they have to prioritize so many things at once, just to attempt to make everyone satisfied. They're trying their best and in the end I feel like that's really what matters. Not everything is going to be okay in some people's eyes. But when a game company openly acknowledges the player base in such a way like TGC does, for example they acknowledged the feedback regarding the permanent implementation of the meditation room in Aviary Village, that was so heavily requested by its players, it does show they listen. Many people are going to disagree with that, but that's just human nature.

I actually have a tip for that oob, I'd recommend staying near the main building first! If you swim around, the area is lit up and you can see all the different places you can go (as well as can't). There's a few areas enveloped in these bubbles, and you can swim towards those.

I was gonna mention the cat hair situation, but then I started having an internal arguing inside my head with stuff like "oh but they might say it took too long and a huge riot for them to listen", and then I thought of counter arguments for that and as soon as I noticed (minutes later) I had forgotten about the subject already

I think the longer you spend in testing too the more you can learn to appreciate the changes, bugs, development process, etc.

It can always feel like shouting into the void if you leave feedback and don't hear or see anything different after a while, but the devs really do go out of their way to chat to us here and share how difficult bugs can be, ask what we like/dislike about features, and changes do end up being made more often than not - the start of testing is never the same as the end of testing and what makes it to live which brings a lot of reassurance that what we report and feedback here does matter!

I can't speak for everyone, but I've been playing sky for 4 years, I've bought and collected several cosmetics to make my skykid look like she does today, and I don't want to visit a different area that I liked so much and have so much potential just being a light animal. Anyway...

If no one cares about being a butterfly or a jellyfish, let's delete all the skykids and make the game boring with just glowing light animals floating around. No cosmetics, items or anything.

I think when they said the story isn't about us they meant having our kid present might seem less immersive than being a butterfly, if we think back to the aurora concert we would be present in the coliseum as sky kids, but during the performances we were watching stories unfold and we were a part of them by being light creatures - I think it's the same kind of story telling technique implemented here

I just hope that they can separate the quest version of us and the free exploration version personally, but I don't know if they will, if there's specific collab requirements that won't allow it, maybe it's graphics, or maybe its something that will come later on

I'm not sure if this is the reason. U either become a shuttlecock or an animal. At times seasonal quest gets crowded until you can't do it at reset. Probably that might be one of the reason to seperate the players but other than the storyline has nothing to do with skykid or the server crashing at reset when seasonal quest comes. I do not know of other reasons. That being able to be an animal just started after aurora season. So it isn't a technology that old that requires polishing but we can feedback to make it back to a skykid back again

Looking at the actual story telling off the invisible child episodes is actually so funny because too-ticky literally shows up unannounced and says y'all eccentric I thought Ninny would fit in oh wait you had people staying here with you do you even have room? Oh good cause too late she's here anyways bye and then the moomins and My all stand around watching her drink strawberry lemonade mama made which if I was Ninny I would have been crying at that point and then Ninny goes up to bed and mama tucks her in (honestly the most normal of the lot until later) and then her and papa discuss if there's any special remedies mama can make so she cooks up a really long potion thing anyways so Ninny gets up the next day and My and Sniff both run through the valley to get to moomin house on time to watch Ninny eat which again hello please do not perceive me if I'm eating and every now and then My makes out of pocket comments and it's so wild honestly it gets better

I don't know if I'll get bonked for typing this all out I'm so sorry, but anyways they go to pick mushrooms altogether and Moomin and Sniff seem to have some sort of competition idk and Little My and Snorkmaiden (who doesn't appear to be earmarked for the game boooo) are there too so they're carrying baskets and stinky comes along and is like invisible kid holding a basket wowee you could rob a bank :D and everyone is like go away stinky and then they go about picking mushrooms and Ninny does the best and the rest all ended up picking some poison ones and there's a nice scene where Ninny gets lots of praise and ends up becoming a bit more visible and iirc can speak

I think this is very valuable feedback - beta players can definitely give feedback on prices. While we currently don’t know which items will be IAP this season, I highly recommend letting the devs know (#beta-feedback) about being less inclined to buy items in the Moomin season when they’re in ‘value packs’ .

As of right now, from what I tested, you can hang your mask only in the nesting shop's shared space area. There's a mannequin icon at the bottom of the featured furniture and when you click it, it spawns in the shared space the mask you're currently wearing

btw how did you guys feel about picking apples with Ninny? I found it super sweet that we get to help her collect them it also feels like the first time we get to properly interact since the other quests were us watching the story unfold (unless quest 2 changed but I can't get into that one cause dark plant)

I was so happy when I realized we had to help Ninny pick apples! It's a really sweet way to add interactivity while remaining a quiet observer to the story. I couldn't stop smiling at the way the color followed the apples, so you could see the patch of grass below them turn green when they landed. And then seeing Ninny walk over with her basket to pick each one up....!

My only concern is that it wasn't immediately obvious what we had to do to progress. The apples did draw my eye because they were in color while everything else was grayscale, but I didn't think to try interacting with them until my friend did (I was too distracted looking at the entire scene as a whole ) I think it would help if the apples got highlighted by a 🔹when you honked. (I'll be sending this as feedback !)

I tried to do the quest many times in hopes that I would not spawn stuck in the dark water once (after spawning in many different wrong spots)

There was one time where after trying to meditate, the cutscene started but I was immediatelly sent to the moomin story book, but then not even 1 second later I got send to the aviary village, but I was stuck in a camera view just a little bit below water level with 2 yellow rock pillars on both my sides

I only knew it was home/aviary cuz it had the music and I could see some buttons to sit and a spell/spirit with items buttons, but I also had the return shrine message on my screen

After trying to run around without seeing my skykid I got teleported again some more times, before I got sent to the Isle of Dawn and got forced to watch the entire cutscene

Just to find out that as soon as the cutscene ended my character poofed out of the regular spawn place (i could see it there for a second) and then the camera zoooomed in really fast to reaaally far away in the clouds on the other side of the isle, and I still couldn't move my camera or know where my character was

After some minutes I got stuck in a loop of teleporting to two places i wasn't able to recognize (as shown in the video), one of them was in the forest.

A friend had the same thing happen too, it seems like the warp points are bugged maybe, I'll have to check tomorrow but best to report it for now

it was a GLORIOUS bug, they were fixing some modelling on some pants and the beige passage pants go overenthusiastic and grew two more sets of arms and legs

I had a better phone last year but it broke, so now after like 8 months I got this one

It's still playable though, most of the time it holds onto the 20 fps and the motion blur kinda makes up for it

But it's suffering a lot in the newer quests.

The 3rd Ninny quest specially was a slideshow for me in most of my tries before the bug happened

They managed to oob out of the first void quest and found the thing you were in for 3rd void quest and they're able to get up to the lake (< that was for the first build, which isn't supposed to be accessible from 1st void quest)

As someone who did a lot of oob exploring, yeah! There are several zones in the area you could swim to, but they were also not supposed to be reachable in normal gameplay yet. That was one of the areas, but it's cool to see it polished up. Hopefully we will spawn normally next build

Also you can no longer swim to those areas from quest 1/2. There are windwalls, I tried lmao

Regardless I absolutely love the umbrella. When the fortune umbrella came out I kept trying to get it to be more red instead of maroon (here: #beta-screenshots-videos message), but in the end it still stayed more maroon looking, even if it got a little less dark in the final product. 👽 So, for a while I've wanted a bright red umbrella... Now I get to have one!

Tip for anyone starting the 2nd part of the 3rd quest in the water, put meditate on your emote wheel, and let you skyd float (incredibly slowly) out of the water rather than losing light, I've still not gotten to where they want to be after 5 minutes, but I'm going to ride this one out for a few minutes more

They've done so well for the void quests, it's not something I'd usually see in sky and wow that hits right to home

Can't wait to play this season, I'm huge fan of how emotionally focused the quests are recently

This sets the important message of how neglect can badly affect a child's mind through these quests and biiiig props to tgc and moomin for that

Another thing I like about these quests is the fact that they use different stances, really makes it actually feel like your skykid's acting out the story
In the 2nd Ninny quest, they used that flight stance for example

I always wanted skykids to emote more during cutscenes, or at least feel like they're being impacted (sometimes litteraly lol) by them, so all this really scratch the spot for me

In fact nothing makes sense to me as someone who is new to Moomin anyways but some of that's due to me not playing the most recent quest(s). Those void rooms where we're dark and unlit was only clarified to me from other beta testers that it was Ninny and their neglections they're facing. Like, there is (probably) no dialogue or anything to tell me at the very least where to go and I've already submitted feedback about this one in particular but I guess I'll write more later.

there's a really good video on YouTube called The complete amateurs guide to moomin by Henry Kathman that's probably worth watching, it takes you through the timeline of moomin stories, talks about Tove Jansson's life around working on the moomin stories and comics and shares info on each adaptation and then you can watch the full 90s adaptation on youtube on the official moomin channel in English

There's probably lots of other stuff too but those are the most accessible things I've found so far

I would be extremely surprised if it was only accessible through a butterfly. If the game can render the Aurora concert mostly fine, then trees aren't too big of an ask years later

I think the trees are completely new thing for this game to process, the aurora festival tech had been extremely optimised (hence why those avatars are very simple)
As for the trees, I notice they have rather detailed leaves up close so it may be what putting a strain on some devices

Hoping the tech will improve in the future for smoother rendering but currently the butterfly is probably the best they can do

I don't see much difference between rendering it as a player vs butterfly

The player on its own contain a LOT of polygons (the geometric shapes on the models) (if you go to skyfest feature, you'll observe just how many polygon shapes are there, especially on the capes) so rendering the polygons on the player itself (especially if they're constantly on your screen and animated) AND the trees at the same time will eat up a lot of processing energy your device could handle. The butterfly on the other hand, is made up of simple polygons, just two polygons folded together so it won't put additional strain on the rendering power.

That explains why passage ult cape put some strain on some devices because of the fur tech, each strand is a polygon each and whew you can imagine

It just gives me a sinking feeling, like will it be social? Will there be a low-quality version that we can access with skykids? I don't see them giving up one of the most important parts of the game, playing with friends, just for some trees

It may be that IP wanted the Moominvalley to be that way so TGC had to make the best out of it WITHOUT possibly destroying players' experience due to lag, crashes, etc etc

We'll have to see if they manage to do it in the end, it's not easy to optimise given tech limits for a mobile game (when they consider lower end phones)

Hi there, they did answer the question already, testers don't know prices in advance for live and due to the fact changes happen often we can't offer any guides for what will be IAP or IGC - on top of that, everything has been a reduced price in beta for testing purposes (literally 1 currency per item) which would not be the intended price, so even if we could provide anything more all we have are test prices hope this clarifies things!
