It's a common Google Play cache issue on some devices.

Try the following:

• delete Play Store cache
• delete google Play Games cache
  Restart the device and try again.
• If it still doesn't work, delete data of the 2 apps above and restart the device.

You're asking at the right place!
Each device has its own optimization and manufacturers still might support them by rolling out security updates - it depends on actual model. Sky didn't drop android 8 compatibility, however, android 8 is very old, and this old version might lose compatibility over time, especially on those devices which are not that greatly optimized by the manufacturer.

Without knowing type and model of device (brand, specific model) and OS, I can only give some general advise that might help.
I am not sure if the “server or connection errors” mentioned by Devs as a known issue includes issues login in, but can’t discard it.

Also some new technologies have been implemented by Devs, and the device might struggle with them (in this case, best to report it, so they are aware of this issues for your type of device).
One possible cause is your internet connection being not strong /fast enough on your device. For that, try checking your internet source, disconnect and reconnect it from your device + close any app in your device that you are not using (to free more internet usage and memory performance for Sky). Try using a different internet source if you can, restarting your wifi modem if you use one.
You can also try deleting Play Store cache and Google Play Games cache, and restarting your device.

can someone help me with smth?Im trying to link my steam acc to sky. However, when I change apps to confirm on my steam guard, the app restarts so I gotta try linking again. So I tried split screen, but when I confirm it loads looking like it worked, it goes back to the game and its not linked. A challenging situation indeed! Here are some tips, but they are not guaranteed to work. Steam linking has several issues in other platform as well.

• Try keeping Sky in the foreground and switch to steam guard only for a couple of seconds to avoid your android system’s strong battery optimisation.
• You can also try it without steam guard if possible. I don't remember how, but I was able to link it without the guard.

Welcome to the server. This is a chanel dedicated to Android issues and what you are asking is a regular game's mechanic, so I will give a short answer.
The more children of light (shinny white little kids you can find in the realms) you find, the more power to fly you will have (your cape will show it). You can also use to your advantage things like clouds, mantas, jellyfish, mushrooms, butterflies, lamps, to help you recharge your energy to continue your trip. At certain areas there is wind that will help you to save some energy. Even the geisers energy at Sanctuary Islands can be use as a booster to reach higher places with less energy.
Practicing and experience will also help you.

The reason it's like that is because the game was first released on ios and then the other channels came after the game released on those platforms. They've kinda just stuck around even though we don't have dedicated channels for switch or playstation either.

To answer your problem though. Ios has been having sign in and linking issues with steam lately. I would try to restart the device and maybe even reinstall the game to see if that could help, but the chances seem low.

Another option is to try and borrow an android device from someone to temporarily sign in and link steam real quick. 🍀

not sure if this helps but one possibility is that your device is struggling with internet connection (Sky is very internet demanding) or the device's gpu is struggling with all that has been added to Sky. The rendering might be more difficult now with all the added stuff.

have you linked your account to any linking method? If you have, you don't need to worry, your progress will not be lost. Just login using the linked method when you redownload sky and all progress is restored. (Someone fact check on this: Even if you haven't linked sky to anything, I believe local account will save your progress for up to 30 days)

okay so after the Apr 17th patch I started getting significant heating issues on Android while playing and started looking into a cooling unit for my phone, took a bit but I found one from a company called "Black Shark" for like $34 and just got to test it out today. It is wired unfortunately so there's one drawback but other than that it worked great, phone maintained a cool 8 °c even after an hour of playing Sky, would 100% recommend to anyone who has the money to spare and has been experiencing heating issues

To the mods I'm sorry if this isn't okay to post I just know others have had heating issues and this really helped me

It's a steam security requirement and Sky has no authority over that. Link another syncing method to your account and use that for logging in: your progress is saved amongst all platforms without having to deal with steam guard

I bought the first one and hadn't tried it until today, I went to place more items in my nest and everything seemed alright, and it even let me save the changes. Then I went to look at other friends nests, and when I returned most of the changes I had made where gone, only a few remained and even had one item (a picture frame) out of place. So I re-did the changes, and once again they disappeared once I stopped viewing my nest, this time by going into edit mode.

I don't believe I used up all the extra item room, I tested and had space for two more large items.

Reno 5f has a quite underpowered GPU sadly, and its GPU is not that common in the market. Moreover, Oppo failed to add correctly coded graphics drivers to it therefore it is not capable to keep up with game updates. The problem stems from Oppo for adding a rare, budget GPU without enough manufacturer support. She should contact Oppo asking for a better android update. She can #report-a-live-bug as well, hoping TGC devs would find a solution to that Oppo 5f issue in the future.

The A36 is a good choice, just keep in mind that the A series had problems due to graphics drivers in the past. The vivo iQOO Neo 10R could also be an option in that price range, tho I don't know how expensive it is in your local market

Users already report mini stutters and lags regarding the UI with it and the support of the A series has never been that great, even if the Adreno 710 GPU sounds promising. For a similar price you can get more from a Xiaomi 14 T or a Poco F6 pro.

I'd be cautious with midrange Vivos as well because of the recent black bugs which come from the recent Vivo driver issues

That's a network issue. They have a connection but barely can keep up with Sky. Did you check the ping latency?

• you'll see 2 numbers upon the test: download speed (in mbps) and a smaller font ping latency (in ms)
• for Sky ping latency lower than 35ms is recommended and download speed higher than 30mbps.

Try to change the CPU governor settings in your Android's developer settings, or try to swap between Steam Guard and Sky more often - rapidly. This is because your phone can't handle multiple heavy apps. Try removing all background apps as well. Good luck 🍀

My friend who uses this is complaining about constantly server issues for last couple of days. Has server issues been affecting some Android users disproportionately?

I’m considering buying a secondary Android phone that isn't really exclusive to play Sky but, I’ve seen multiple devices and brands with driver issues or other problems when running Sky

I’ve narrowed down my options to the Nothing Phone 3a Pro and the Samsung S25 Ultra. Do either of these have Sky compatibility issues

If anyone has any other high-end Android phone suggestions with fewer known issues or better compatibility, please let me know
I haven’t used Android in a while and I honestly feel kinda confused with the amount of devices out there

Get a One Plus 12 or 13, One Plus are solid android phones if you don't mind the price tag. They run very well, have very good sturdy phone covers... I have never bought my own phone because I knew someone who did phone reviews... but when I did last year it was between Google Pixel 9 and One Plus 12, and I went with 12. Google Pixels are also very good phones. My google pixel 2XL served me well for many many years. It only recently started slowing down playing sky... but said phone is also from 2017.

Personally I'd go with the S25, as it offers more android and security updates and therefore makes it theoretically better in terms of longevity. Also in recent years, people in this channel mentioned fabulous graphics and performance with the S24 so I can only recommend it. Nothing is some sort of an underdog. If you like having a clean and simple os, nothing is definitely the choice. Also has this very unique design that makes you stand out.
As Latias said, Pixel phones would be the best choice but varying prices do play a role sadly

just remember with any new phone- don't leave it on ALL THE TIME, and you DON'T have to charge it to 100%

turning your phone off for a few hours at a time everyday if you know you aren't going to be using it and not charging it all the way increases the longevity ❤️ my phone actually stops at 80% a lot unless i tell it to go to 100... but i don't need to charge it more than twice a week anyway

I feel if you're looking for a Samsung device but with a relatively affordable price tag compared to the S series, I'd recommend A34 5G (the one that I'm using!) In my experience so far, I don't encounter any issues that would prevent me from playing. It can handle 60fps pretty well for Sky for majority of time. So far my experience with it is pretty good ^^ just some 2 cents

Hi! A bit late to the discussion but it your eyes are a bit sensitive to PWM, I recommend the Nothing Phone, or Maybe the s25. Otherwise Pixel is the way!

I'm on Android device, and I’ve been facing an issue while trying to translate words in-game. Every time I try to translate English into another language using the chat, the chat disappears. It makes it really hard to communicate. Interestingly, when I try the same thing on another phone (which it also android), everything works fine—the translation goes through perfectly and the chat doesn't disappear like other phone.

I already tried clearing the cache for Gboard. It worked properly for a few minutes, but then the issue came back. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix, or is this just a permanent issue with certain devices?

Personally, pixel has one of the cleanest OS’s amongst Android devices (though, recently the AI trash added to it has been a bummer, and all the Google trash too)
It also has pretty good update support from Google (compared to most android devices).
(also totally not biased but it has one of the best designs among android because what the hell are those designs )

Only downside is their lack of distribution in most countries (this applies to all the other brands you mentioned too, at least in my country)

Well... OP13 24/1024 - 700€, x200 pro 16/1024 is about 850, and pixel... Obsidian 16/128 is 700, but for more... Pink 16/256 is 800, 512 and 1024 are about 950-1000and only black/white :(

X200 pro is occasionally complained to take kids drawing photos sadly, because it unrealistically over boosts colors in real life usage - but if you prefer that thing that really has a good battery life. Pixels have the least clogged bare android with very long update support which means it should be able to run Sky on fairly great fps for many years. I'd be a bit concerned about the Vulkan support of the OnePlus (its updates were criticized in its predecessors but it's a great phone). Honor Magic 7 should be an amazing photo phone, but sometimes Honor doesn't honor its customers with bugless drivers.

And decided for whatever reason "why not get best of the best" so was looking at either dms 9400 or s8 elite

Altho heard that s8 elite is quite a lot hotter than s8 Gen3 and on phones like poco F7 ultra it can quite literally burn your hands

Hardware is often not everything. See example: Pixels. My Pixel 5 years ago had almost iphone-like video quality and was able to run 60fps even tho the hardware shouldn't be able to do it.

In the end, choose whatever you'd like to. It will take more than a year to find out if any of them has a weak point for Sky and most likely you'll be happy with either of them!

Ye, it's just questionable in terms of every single one of them for one or another reason. I feel like pixel could have reduced support due to me being in Russia for... Yes reasons. So need to confirm everything beforehand
also camera of x200 is the size of the phone itself
Altho total thickness is still same as my poco X6 pro so it's not THAT bad

However even with that big camera blue x200 pro looks pretty nice ||case is needed tho soooo||
And blue op13 has fake leather instead of glass/metal back...
As a main phone tho it will probably be the battery of vivo 200x pro that will eventually win for me

I've been able to connect my Nintendo account on Mobile before so it shouldn't be an issue. It might be on Nintendo side issue (once had a trouble logging in, but going through Google still worked)

I just did the simple steps when I first logged in my android phone using Nintendo account: when the pop up appears, tap cancel, then open log in option in the same menu and I picked Nintendo and entered the account info. Best to link your account to your Google email of your choice immediately once you logged in

When that problem occurred, the Nintendo log in site glitched that it was stuck on white screen longer than it should be, I went to log in using Google instead

Hello, I've had a problem for a few weeks now with screenshots from the season of moments camera are saving as black in my gallery.
I was talking with someone who actually has tech knowledge about a different problem I'm having with my phone, he said "probably melted a NAND gate". Basically I'd like to know if that has a possibility of effecting the screenshots saving correctly in my phone? Thank you for any info you might have. I also understand if it can't be a clear yes/no.

I am not sure yet if this might be related to the issue you are talking about or not. But the Season of Moments QG has been bugged lately. Many players can't find it at all most of the time.
I ll look for my moment's camera and do a bit of testing.

Try changing the resolution or user agent in your android settings or your phone. If that does not work, download a different third party browser and set it as default browser.

In case you're still dealing with this, the phone screen is supposed to rotate to show the full dialog and the button at the bottom. You might need to make sure auto-rotate is turned on or try forcing the screen to rotate if that's not working.

Motorola has a long history with Sky crashes. Although its hardware is capable running Sky and Motorola produces great phones, sadly it lacks in software support, especially regarding poor Vulkan support (a graphics driver which some games like Sky use), failing to provide up-to-date drivers to their phones. There were months when many G series phones couldn't even launch Sky and an android update by the manufacturer finally made them compatible. The issue lies at Motorola, she needs to contact them. Ah Vivo - unless it's a flagship - doesn't put much effort into graphics drivers and whereas the hardware is compatible, they lack proper support for new game features, unfortunately. Sadly, Motorola has a long history of lacking proper Vulkan support. Even their latest updates are somewhat not the freshest or most organized when it comes to graphics drivers, at the same time they are such awesome devices. There were months for example when the G series wasn't able to run Sky at all whereas the hardware is compatible and in the end an Android update by Motorola fixed it. It could be a similar issue, I recommend you to contact Motorola about it

The GPU (Adreno 613) is quite old and weak already. I'd suggest reducing the quality and frame rate in game. Also make sure to not play on full brightness or charge your phone while playing. Take off your phone case as well so your phone can radiate more heat to the outside and therefore preserve performance of the chip

Context!! Im on xiaomi 13, hyper os 2.0, android 15. Previously i have been crashing every 5-10 minutes, often times right after start up the game.
-> after downgrade my system back to hyper os 1.0, android 14, everything is buttery smooth for the past 3 days, except for the fps drop when opening chat bubbles. So one of the possibility can be it's an android 15 problem. You can try it to see if it work for you. Good luck. (remember to back up your file before downgrade though)

Does anyone know why my Android device can't use 120fps? My device is Lenovo Legion Tab4, using Snapdragon 8 Elite, and my friend can use 120fps with S25 Ultra (same chip)

Factors that may play a role:

• Due to increased screensize and tablets generally being not that well optimised compared to phones, the device would overheat while using 120fps
• The Tablet is relatively new compared to the S25 Ultra and therefore not yet optimised for 120fps in sky (tgc for example not listing it as 120fps capable yet)
• Lenovo isn't famous for good optimisation (Looking at the motorola devices) so there might also be a limitation from manufacturers side

The following factors matter when joining friends:

• the friend shall have a stable connection with ping latency lower than 35ms
• the friend should not use other apps in parallel because when Sky is in the background, the device limits its network access (so if they are switching between apps, that can prevent joining)
• they might be in Eden, a cape locked area which prevents joining
• you can't join friends in festive tech or night time isle, and during certain seasonal quests
• if the server is full (8 people in an area) that can prevent joining as well

I have a question.. With this game only it is causing my phones to drain my batteries and they are over heating. I have closed all apps, and do not have anything running in the background.
