It's literally Season of Shattering you see it everywhere around

Honestly the season is kinda underwhelming. It's very tedious and time consuming, the story is just so vague and dull. You can do better than that TGC

I don't think people are actively trying to pick faults and be salty, I think this season was just highly anticipated as a concept but in practice has so far been underwhelming - especially in terms of the season quests. I think introducing the shards as an event but having them attached to all the quests is a bit of a cop out when we could be doing more activities within later quests to unlock memories.

It's probably because we're used to the original format of each season quest progressing in some way and has us actively running about a season area, etc. but once you've done a shard event once or twice it's just repetitive and boring and not what you expect of a season quest.

That and the lack of spirits means we don't have a lot to do in the season so far and the fact we also don't have cutscenes and just still memories instead also makes this season seem just very lack luster.

I think there's a whole lot tgc could do to vamp up the quests and make the season more activity based but I don't feel I know what their vision is for this new format they're trying out with us. Just feels underwhelming.

i feel bad for tgc because like. nobody likes this season and the only saving grace is the cosmetics but also they cant exactly just restart it all unless they extend performance and/or delay shattering

Don't get me wrong, I liked Abyss quite a bit but the story wasn't interesting until the 4th quest. Cosmetic wise though... eh, it's not the best but I like the masculine approach a bit. But still, I am so sad I missed Flight by a month.

I don't think it's accurate to say nobody likes the season, I've seen people discussing their positive views on it and such, I also don't think it's too much for us to hope that they can delay the season releasing into live, I mean they never expected they'd have to with rainbow and sure it's still going ahead for this month in the end, but I think the fact that they extended testing for that in itself shows how much they do value our feedback and want to ensure they're putting out content we want to play. Depending on what else they have up their sleeves for the latter half of the testing period, we could see some changes and more development of the season based on our feedback so far, and maybe it will become a case of extending testing.
As far as testers go, we don't know the schedule limitations on tgc's end, but there's never been anything to say that a new season has to come out exactly 2/3 weeks after a previous season has ended in live. So I think we shouldn't look at it like we're running out of time as testers to help change things and just keep pushing our feedback through.

This would be the perfect season to learn more about Elders, and it could potentially break the repetitively cycle if "burn plants and talk to the glowing diamonds" by substituting some of them, more elder cosmetics, which fans have wanted (back) for a while now.

Looking back on previous seasons now, I feel like TGC is running out of ideas, they reused the manta cape kind of, and with Performance they reused penguin hair, but then again they could also be making a smart move by doing the reskins because newer players can at least get a new version of the old reskins.

Tbh this season is like going to a festival and instead of a festival, there was only a couple of vendors and things to do.

Also tgc definitely read feedback, they wouldn't have extended rainbow if they hadn't bothered with our feedback for that and they wouldn't be so active in finding out what our main concerns with the crawl mechanic have been.

I just wish we knew if there are plans to give us more season substance or if this really is a new format season only and is just preparing us for something more in future seasons. That would be a great help.

I think tgc needs to communicate with us beta players in accordance to this season. We are giving feedback, but from our point of veiw, its not taken in consideration do we are confused and frusterated. What do they want us to do?!
This season is underwhelming. The memories are cool, but not everyone is into lore. Those that aren't into lore will be mad. We need more of a kick to the activities. Not just the burning. It gets dull as a seasonal quest. As a daily quest it is cool, but not as a seasonal quest. TGC needs to communicate what the goals are in order for us to effectively test this season.

I doubt it's a case of running out of ideas, more likely just them testing the waters with ult returns and like you said giving newer players opportunities for alternative cosmetics that they've missed out on in the past.

back in 2020 tgc had said they had up to 2 years worth of planning and if you think about the fact that they'll have been planning more during that time, it's likely they have a lot more in store for us. Ktjn has already previously clarified that as long as they have players they'll keep working on the game and the fact Ash has been by and explicitly mentioned future season work and irons in many fires just goes to substantiate that further - they're always working on new ideas, coming up with new plans for sky, just this one doesn't seem to be hitting quite so well at the moment.

Tgc already needed to delay days of Rainbow due to its issues, and tgc greatly improved DoR, so why can't they do the same for a Season with as much of an impact on the Fandom as this one? This season seemed to be one of the most anticipated seasons from the start, so tgc really needs to step back and actually make it work.

It really is a shame though how the season is being handled though, and the cosmetics while good, are still mediocre at best. Season of Shattering has way to much anticipation from everyone to be as lackluster as this and it almost feels like a slap in face.

I think an alternative idea to combat the crystal crabs and crabs in general is to just hold your candle near them. It will attract them and cause them to be pacifist towards you and small hearts come out of them. If I recall, some beta player here held out a candle near one of these crystal crabs and a heart came out of the crystal crab.

Maybe they just want a little light and hate the screaming we do. It angers them and causes them to attack. As long as we have our candles out, they will not be a threat.

Yeah, it's strange. The Zhao timeline does talk about an Elder retiring before the others, and you can even still see remnants of this in the game, but it's the Isle Elder, not the Forest Elder. And yet, the Isle Elder is present at the blast, and the Forest Elder is missing. Why?

Forest mamma did seem to be the most lonerish of the Elders, so maybe she lingered farther back during whatever plan the elders tried to execute?

Forest mom is also shown to be a bit on the aggressive side, moreso than Shield man (whos supposed to be a soldier, possibly a general), so she could've also already charged in and gotten taken out. Or the King took her out, seeing her aggression as a potential problem to his plans, whatever they were.
It could also just be that tgc dropped the ball and forgot about her.

The wind on the way up the mountain still sucks. Way too difficult to just get up steps :/
The first part of the Eye of Eden is pretty much same as old way you just have to crawl to a lit statue if you get rock clobbered. The recharge props still work there but the cool down is just way more than usual. Not sure if that’s new or not.
The second part is a bit better. If you can time the rain and get to the statues quick I guess its possible to do it and stay lit and upright. I’m sure there’s a pattern people will figure out.
The third part still is a frustrating slog cause you gotta crawl. It’s so freekin slow. I went In With about 120 wings and think I still missed the last 4 or 5 statues. Got 14 AC.

I actually find putting down a memory candle can be pretty useful. Unactivated, it still gives off light like every other candle in game, and once your light is atleast a wedge charged, deep honks from them should be able to work, since deep honks can no longer charge completely snuffed out skids.

It might be more pronounced for smaller skykids. I don’t wear chibi but I’m pretty little and get blown around more

Just came back doing normal eden with chibi mask to check the wind. There is a slight disparity of difficulties in the gap spot (1st part), it's slightly more difficult for chibi. But I wouldn't say the entire going up the hill 'way too difficult'. Each eden part took me approximately 1-3 mins. But... I'm not a moth, so I assume it will be a different experience for them.

Wasn't forest the first place where spirits discovered dark crystal? They basically started this whole mess of technical boom and their temple is basically a factory where butterflies were used to charge the crystals. I always thought Forest Elder's demeanor was weird since first time I met them.

The thing about Abyss is we see spirits memories in a timeline when the spirit, presumably, lived after eden erupted, survived even. The first mural we see shows the leviathan all big and light..... After looking at all the murals I came to conclusion they just made the poor thing turn dark, it started swallowing other light creatures and ancestors had to contain it at this point.

Someone I watched on yt also theorised the realms show the journey of humans in their lives

• Isle = Birth
• Prairie = Childhood (we literally call the prairie social area as the playground)
• Forest = Adolescence ( we find ourselves and go through hormonal changes, emotional changes, we start to see stuff with reality and not ideally)
• Valley = We overcome challenges hence why most of the spirits there are victors
• Golden Wasteland = Usually Adulthood (When we hit rock bottom, the darkest times of our lives)
• Vault = Old age, we are now wise, we have memories recorded to share to our youngins
• Eden = The final breath

personally i dont think we (or any light creatures for that matter) have crystals inside of us. In prarie, you put your candle to a crystal and it feeds off of the fire as a power source. from personal observations, crystals consume flames. you might be referring to that thing on our chest, where we summon our candle from and put it away.

The somewhat boring response to that is that's how beta works sometimes; not immediate reward, no clear direction, confusing quests that don't complete...etc. It's all part of the testing cycle to find bugs and to give feedback.

even at 150+ wl and knowing what you're doing, you could likely not make it to the last statue because of how slow you end up going, and you might as well not even bother going behind cover because you do not stand up after getting hit, you have to crawl and lose an absurd amount of wl, arguably more than you do in live rocky rain

But it cannot be denied that it exists as a reference, which means in some sense it does. And yes, you were not talking about the King just now, but about the Prince who became King in the future.
And it seems to me that a pale child is neither a prince nor a King, but actually our insides, the light. So, according to your logic, there is a King in every Sky Kid. Which, to me, is a bit silly. If you mean that the King could become a light and become a kind of omnipresent and even more so be in us. But I'm still not sure that the child in Eden is a Prince. According to the theory, he should at least wear clothes, and not repeat the body of the Sky kid, because he is definitely not a Sky kid.

2. Seasonal quests can only be redeemed at red crab shards which give AC and creature collect challenges.. Black shard that give wax won't let you do the seasonal quest
3. Red crab shards have tended to turn up in past seasonal areas for the last few builds.
4. Vault shards have only been seen in starlight desert jelly cove/star collector

That's as much as I've noticed as a pattern. So basically it's random beyond that

Think about it, you're saving more than just one Sky kid in this scenario for example. Faster way is to have the spell menu ready and click on it and use it, do a medium call to activate it quicker, and boom, you instantly revive and fully restore multiple Sky kid's energy.

I saw a nice fanart about a sky kid anatomy. At least this made sense for me. In the past, deep call to "strengthen" us back to life made sense cuz we have souls (that blue orb you became when your body is destroyed). Just like we can strengthen others by talking to them or letting them know help is nearby.

Sooooo anyone else feeling like the elder reveal was great - but also came too late? It makes me more invested in the season for sure but if I hadn’t already seen it in beta I would still feel in live that the story is vague and weird and I don’t have a reason to care about it. To address this I think that if we started with the very first memory room showing the elders trying to contain this crystal BEFORE it exploded….and then having the last scene we have today…that would be much better storytelling and would have me immediately invested in this season because then I would be helping our beloved elders.

Yeah: the Elder reveal actually satisfies my requests for narrarive and/or lore, but it also means there's a severe pacing problem. Even we had to wait three weeks before there was any indication of a story at all: in Live this will translate to a month and a half if not longer. That's too long to go without any indication that there even is a story. I'm not necessarily asking for the Elders to appear earlier, but the season needs to at leaat be able to show that something is coming.

Come to think of it, I've noticed something in Beta that seems a little weird to me. It seems that I'm losing lights as soon as my flame is extinguished now, rather than having to wait for first the flame and then the star to go out. Has anyone else seen this? Is it supposed to be like this?

My theory is that this is exactly what's going to happen: what we've been seeing until now are pieces of a single memory, and the final season area will assemble them all into one area. This is also probably how you'll be expected to get any WL you missed, or in future runs: you can't go back, but it won't matter because they'll be in the season are anyway

Your resize spells scared me. I want max height. I once was the 2nd tallest but not max height so I risked for it using 10 resize spells. They all failed me and have been staying as a chibi since then. Now that I am done with my constellation buff wings, I am chasing after max height dream. Yeah it really sucks tbh. My two closest friends in sky are always taller than me and seem to get tall heights easily and I just have terrible luck in live. I have gotten near smallest height so many times and exactly smallest height 3 times. The tallest I've gotten is 1.16 one time in 196 resizes (1.20 is tallest if you use that form of measurement). I just want to get back to 1.16 or taller 😭😭😭 that's it. Tallest I've gotten in my last 100 has been 1.14. I have the inexplicable ability to get small heights but have to fight tooth and nail to get tall. I was aiming for max height, but I've been beaten down to now I just want the 1.16 height I got when I was a moth. I have it in beta do I'll just gaze at my beta character longingly /hj maybe beta the rng is better (that's how it feels like anyways) or maybe I just truly have the worst luck as a tall wanter.

Eden is now easier than when the season first started. Before, you couldn't even move once knocked down. Now we crawl forward at what seems to me not far off the pace as when we are limping in Live. It is now possible to collect well over 12 AC in Beta Eden if you have enough wl of which I had 147 at the time. I feel there is nothing wrong with that especially as we can now also get additional AC from shards

Interesting thought. I always saw Eden as the "altruistic" setting for the game's story. You go through all the realms collecting these lovely winged lights that give your character power and give them away to save others. To me, their hidden meaning to these changes are more about "sometimes you can't save them all, so save who you can before you die" more than "work hard for rewards."

My tip is to barely spend on your desired constellation during seasons and then off season use your candles but don't buy the items that cost hearts, so then you can devise a plan to farm hearts with friends by then and if you can't complete the constellation by the time next season comes around you can just reduce the heart traders you have to 2, so each day if you fully cr you'll be getting at least 14 candles cause you'll be using 6 to get hearts.

I need to explain something about the sky turning red to my non english speaking beta friend, but i wanna be sure i’m correct before telling them.
The sky turning red means that the area has a possibility of spawning red shards, but it doesn’t mean it will always spawn there coz the locations are random/on rotation?

The red just means a shard event is happening but where the shard spawns is entirely dependent on the realm it's in. The map gate will have crystals in it and shards can only fall in that area. During the eruption animation that can be seen in all realms you will see the red stuff but red only hangs around after the animation in areas where the shards have fallen iirc. Haven't really been doing shard stuff since I finished the season.

I feel like this isn't a season and should just be a permanent event with permanent cosmetics that people could buy with ascended candles. To keep the monetary incentive, you could pay to unlock the paid cosmetics and call it "Pack of Shattering" which contains the creature cosmetics and could be permanent. I just feel like this isn't a season, since even prophecy had story mechanics of painting the cave walls.

To complete, yes, somehow. It's part of the seasonal quests. But for daily quest, you only have to visit it so far. Not burn all of them. But yes I think you can get the cosmetics without doing the quests

In beta 2 seasonal candle clusters give one full candle and every realm has 8 so you get four from each realm which is 20 from realms
Then 5 more from quests and the candle from shrine.

idk if anyone discovered this already but i found a tip! if you go into grammas treehouse and deep honk, you can guide the butterflies out to the shard area and the butterflies will keep you charged and help you dodge crabs better !

Tbh, I dont like the butterflies and small space during burn shards. Because we can honk to angry the crab and it will follow you, and the other player can burn shards in safe.
But the butterflies always make me fly up. If someone honk at that time, the crab will comeback

i reccomend dodging the crabs its pretty easy to maneuver the crabs around the dsrk flower so they bonk the flower and not u. or by jumping ez dodge. ALSO if u use the butterflies u can burn some parts at a time and go to another flower to burn <<strategy >>

I also have a question, does the horn do anything, or is it just a war horn for the sake of being a war horn? If they have no use, then I suggest that it acts like a quick-reaction shield against every dark creature that you have to time just right in order to blow them back and have like a 5 second cool down before you can blow it again.
