I have question for the released beta content. Did Tgc consider making anniversary cake items as props before they were made as limited spells?

the long answer is that we consider a TON before players ever set eyes on content. sky is a live game and we don't need to release everything with every functionality day one all at once. we create a curated experience and then hand it off to players to expand on that. if there's something you'd like to see in the game we have the #wishlist-and-ideas-archived channel. to avoid spoilers for live players, for something in beta you can share in #beta-feedback since it builds on an existing concept.

the short answer is that yes we considered it and ultimately went in a different direction.

its not a bug, they changed the whole control scheme
i never rly thought abt sending feedback back when controller users were still a minority but now with all the changes and the switch port coming up i think its time to unmap the cutscene skip from both jump and flight toggle bc its just annoying doing it accidentally

From the grapevine of friends who made it into switch beta, their controls are still correct for ZR and ZL, so I would suggest filling out a bug report since the official help article shows L2 and R2 are supposed to be mapped for stepping mode and action respectively.

keep in mind, beta linking won't have an impact on live and vice versa. and after june 6th switch beta won't be a thing at all. so it will only serve as a means to backup if you need to uninstall from your mobile device.

after that bug reports can get stale very quickly as the team identifies issues and fixes them.

feedback is a little more subjective, since it is completely reliant on what the feedback is regarding.

I noticed from the 2+ hour development panel from last year that someone mentioned that the skids are supposed to feel small compared to the environment. And it does seem like with the recent beta updates to Eden/Orbit it seems to bring that sense of feeling small return into Sky

Mmm I was back reading and wanna contribute some of my thoughts about being small in the world of sky. I do get the feeling of being small no matter how long I’ve been playing and it’s pretty nice but sometimes the perspective can really bother me. It’s feels really hard trying to look up because the environment is so big. It’s ok when looking from a high view point but it’s just so annoying when trying to look up from the ground. I get this feeling especially in dreams and forest, areas that’s closed in.

I completely understand and agree with your concerns. I'm pretty sure we can count on TGC. There will most likely be some issues. No releases, whether Seasons or new platforms, ever go as planned and there tends to be a few bumps and hiccups. If there is a beta version, it is because TGC needs testers. And the fastest way to report bugs is still screenshots and videos. I don't think TGC is going to do anything like cut off the main source of the reports just because a few players don't want to be spoiled and still watch spoiler videos.

I always warn content creators that whatever bug they think is a new feature is not true, or that they should probably spoiler tag this and that content, I always get blocked or ignored. It feels like a losing battle

Where the content gets shared and how it's shared isn't really in tgc's control. It's the responsibility of the person sharing the content and if you have problem with someone sharing spoilers without tags then you can unfollow them or ask them to put proper spoiler

This is the last thing I will say about it: The idea of ​​the beta version is to be the closest thing to how the live version will be in the future. I think the guiding feature is great, when used correctly it signals that yes, I'm not barging in and interpreting a moth wandering around and enjoying the game as them being lost but that they actually need help with these specific spirits in the area

I like it a lot Pakka the feature that the guider can only see the spirit that the guided does not have makes it a lot easier for veterans to help moths out, without verbally asking the question. Cuz sometimes moths could be very confused about what spirits they’ve already got and what they haven’t. This guide systems helps avoid the possible back and forth communication/spirit run on that.

a good concern brought up that is sort of out of the control of the guiding system is that the guider might be going way too fast for the moth, though... like what if the moth wants to see the spirits carefully but cant because the guider is blazing through them from one point to another etc

I actually think this system improves the experience for new players. As Ktjn said before, there are a lot of players who dropp the game before reaching the end, either by not finding all the spirits, by not having enough wl or for any other reason.And this system gives them more options, if you want to explore on your own, you can do it, if you feel stuck and need help, you can ask for help. I don't know, I find it very useful
