This has been a problem since day 1. The game asks for both your money and your dedication.

And then if you take a break after completing the season, you won’t have enough candles for the next event that comes along. It’s impossible to take a break from the game without missing out on things.

If there were interesting ways to earn candles, it would be one thing. But it’s just the same stuff over and over every day. It’s exhausting.

I continued to collect seasonals when I was done getting all the items and yet I’m still just going to squeak by and get the rainbow cape, which will drain my entire candle storage.

I don’t even buy traveling spirit stuff bc I have all the seasonal items from day 1. It’s ridiculous that I can’t take a break.

I've been here for a long time as well, I'd argue that there was a bit of room to rest back in the day, constellations were the least of my concerns and seasonal dailies wouldn't take more than half an hour, most of my time was dedicated to hanging out with friends. Not so much anymore, I find it much more exhausting lately

Yeah I miss the days when regular candles only bought regular constellation items or friend upgrades — both of which weren’t going anywhere, so we could take our time. All these frequent events with limited time items that are expensive is just too much.

And here I thought I was doing well with managing my candles as a Sanctuary moth -in live I got a hefty amount of candles (+600) but cause my playstyle is a combo if social butterfly and a solo player, I don't usually spend on Sky friends, mostly with discord friend. Yet right now with so many events coming out way it feels like even with 1000 candles or more u can't relax and spend them on friends-the events costing the same as a TS! And that also can and most often does overlap with events that require candles to get stuff from -same with hearts
Assembly is also not really helping, it's very tight and feels like the conversion at the end won't be very rewarding..

I just got back to the game after taking a whole break and skipped season of dreams, i have 600+ candles yet i feel like its still not enough with the amount of candle spending events and ts back-to-back , I'm already starting to get exhausted and tired of this game after a month returning and i don't think its a good sign... I have already finished constellations yet I'm still grinding for candles

^ this is already included i missed days of fortune , skipped dreams and days of love so i have no idea how people are not exhausted with the candle management when cosmetics is the major spending of this game

Last thing I expected when getting hooked on Sky was a HUGE amount of commitment needed to be comfortable / stable in terms of progress and in app currency-I rarely buy candles cause it costs a lot.
I love this game I really do, it has helped me more than I like to admit but dayum...

I only need about an hour to an hour and a half to get rid or all my Chevrons which is 15 candles. Then I can relax, set an alarm, and collect from Geyser for at least 2 to 3 more. If I wanted to get max daily it would still be less than 2 hours Prairie-Vault. Skipping Isle and Trials.

Hi im a buff-ish moth, started in season of dreams halfway but uk as a moth we all have no idea what we're doing.

I spend a minimum of 2hours daily just to collect enough candles so i can get the travelling spirits and event items. Ive had to set completion of my constellations back quite abit.

In addition i feel bad for hoarding candles to spend on the timed events and im unable to spend on my friends when they want to unlock the friendship tree.

Just my two cents input as a not so moth (dont get me wrong i'll still grind hard but im starting to get burnt out) 😅

I will say that with everything. The events have made me quite stingy when it comes to gifts and friendship upgrades which is the complete opposite result that TGC said they wanted when revamping the system. Nothing changed really, still need to save up 200+ candles. For every TS and also save for events on top? If we actually made more candles per day and/or things were cheaper than we could spend on friends. I’d gladly send gifts more often if I could afford to and buy the items I want. I also hate being told, “Well you don’t have to buy everything.” Whenever I say this too. =_= Yeah, I know, but that’s HOW I WANT TO PLAY. Waiting a year for a TS to possibly come back is just not ideal.

I’ll add that I’m a pretty active player too. I nearly full CR every single day on both Live and Beta and even with all that I still feel like I can manage maybe two gifts per day and NO friendship/friendship upgrades.

I think overhauling the whole currency is a bit too big of a change at this point in the game. But the ts system definitely needs to be revamped. I feel like tgc dug themselves into a hole with the ts system. Can't get rid of it outright, prices need to be high to appease older players, but the high prices coupled with the large number of events are causing burn out, even with a new daily light system

The reason I paid was so I didn’t have to wait for TS to come in the first place which is a perfectly fair trade off. Their prices being lower really shouldn’t matter.

That's fair. I also don't think the prices need to be so high. But the reason that they are high in the first place is to still have another incentive to purchase an adventure pass, other than getting cosmetics earlier. At least, that's what it originally was meant to do. With so many ts now in the pool, it's even rarer to see a specific spirit come home.
But if tgc does lower prices, what kind of backlash will they recieve? They already got a ton of backlash from the proposed ts system change we tested a few months ago.

For now the advice I would give is try to engage in these conversations as a group in the more slow-paced live channels, and you might just see a change for the better with time

the system we tested was to make the emote levels and cosmetics that were originally pass locked in their respective season to also be pass locked on a ts tree. those pass locked items would be free, and the other items would cost a few more candles then they usually would. overall, the price would be significantly lower than the current system.

we stopped testing it. it was very poorly received. people didn't like the fact that f2p players would no longer have the freedom to choose which items they wanted to buy, or that some players would feel forced to purchase the current adventure pass simply because they wouldn't want to miss out on some cosmetics, even if they didn't want it for the current season.
i for one think it was a good step in the right direction, but needs to be worked on more

I don’t understand the hate for the AFK system considering it resets every single time you head between areas. Not just realms. There aren’t many areas that take longer than 10 minutes which seemed to be the max time limit before you couldn’t get wax anymore. So it really shouldn’t effect active Ubers or their passengers.

It's the idea behind the system. It's the malice and hate towards the testers who sat under the tree to try out the limits the tree gave. It was poorly explained and was daggers to the testers who tested for science.

I will say that I feel irritated every single time someone sits around and expects me to do the work for them like at Geyser and/or the Vault Elevator. I help with Geyser because I want the light, but I will leave if someone refuses to help with Vault elevator. You’d think that would be rare, but I’ve had it happen quite often in this past week.

I agree... it contradicts the whole point of introducing a system meant to reduce grind — when events have items that cost almost 200+ candles.... if anything this just further promotes grinding the game
The more grinding a game becomes, the more likely players are to drop it, that’s coming from personal experience..
I also hate how getting an adventure pass itself feels grindy these days... missing out on 2 ults is bad enough, but 4 ults??? I hope this isn’t an indicator of things to come.

Right? Not going to name who was there under the tree testing with me, but we chatted, conversed here in this exact channel while collecting light. We were being sociable, just not touching our screens since there are other social avenues than using a 5" screen to type... Edit: you can ask anyone who plays with me. I barely talk... They planned to implement more events to passively collect light from in the future and they don’t want people just avoiding CRing to collect idly at those places.

The issue I have is that it is only like an extra 2 candles max after you hit grey between resets anyways. So the argument that it’s a punishment to those who don’t run holds a ton of water.

The problem is that CR runs are tedious. The game desperately needs more ways to earn candles or it needs to cut back on the costs of limited time items.

Well that’s good, the $10 on the seasonal pass at least relieves us of having to grind 14 days for 1 item on the TS... if you get only 10 candles a day like I do... that’s 140 in 2 weeks
And with the mandatory 10 candles to unlock spells + 3 hearts (3 x 3 = 9 candles), that’s 19 candles to unlock any cosmetics
If you are buying cosmetics — usually they are upwards of 70, on average items cost 70+ when they are in demand
So you’re looking at 140 + 19 = 159+ candles for two 70 items (basically all rythm candles)

I’ve definitely had more experiences sitting under tree than while running too. I’d argue that the people saying it’s a social opportunity are correct. I hate having to constantly stop to type while I’m CRing anyways. If I could run 3 Realms and sit “AFK” under a tree or at geyser or some future event place to finish up I would AND could guarantee I’d be more social doing it.

If youve seen some of the previous discussion on this topic you'll find a lot of alternative play methods that lead to being afk even when you are actually interacting. People with disabilities or playing around a single larger monitor. There are a lot of ways to play and be afk that i had no idea about before.

I’m for both arguments simply because it wouldn’t really effect me anyways considering I run on both Live and Beta. However, I can understand the argument of AFK system seeming like a punishment. Why would it matter if someone is AFK at the tree or geyser anyways? We can’t get a lot of extra candles once it’s grey anyways. The new system they introduced for candle farming makes it a crawl after the candle turns grey. The tree, as active as it was, still only provided about 1-2 extra candles per day. So what’s the point at that rate?

It’s weird how the rainbow cape costs almost 2.5 times more than bloom cape though... plus you have the mandatory 30 candles worth of spells you need to unlock... In total the cape costs 205 candles... sighhh
If you say it’s because of the unique design of the wing labels, I’d argue the base shape of the cape is simple and similar to the base model capes
And bloom had a UNIQUE shape design and texture to it
Surely, the wing labels can’t alone be the reason for the high cost?.

If you were chatting with your friend or at least moving something in ranges of 10 minutes, it still does not affect events like the tree or the geyser.
And according to that logic, saying that there are "many ways to socialize without touching the screen" U can still socialize without being connected to the game (I am referring only to those moments where you stay afk and you start talking by voice call) you can continue the call as there would be no difference if both are afk.
But well, I am not able to find a problem with the afk system as it does not affect anyone in terms of gameplay

Hmm, I still don’t think they won’t make any changes to the tree at the very least. Especially considering the tassel is 20 hearts on top of that total 245 candles for everything on the tree including the cape. I’d bet it will at least get a bit cheaper. I’d hope...especially considering Christmas Cape and Bloom Cape prices both added together is still less than this one cape. Even the table that had a function of recharging you on top of chatting was only 150 in comparison. It would be surprising if there is no drop in price.

there aren’t any props that can protect you from the rock rain but the setup before the continuous rock rain does give you a good amount of protection! in the continuous rock rain if you run in a zigzag instead of straight into the rocks you don’t get stun locked as much. also beeping supposedly helps too (regular beeps not deep call)

Usually old build gets a forced update so it wasn't a possibility back then. But right now switch is on the previous build, so you don't get a forced update and can try some work arounds to play with friends who can't downgrade. iOS can revert but sadly Androids can't. But we merge with friends and play together still except the areas mentioned in Pakka's post

Hello, sorry for the really silly question but I am really off the loop.

I redownloaded the Beta version just recently to check it out and to my pleasant surprise I got a nifty hairstyle and a cool cape.

But I am not sure where I am supposed to go to check the newest content (the game doesn't give you a hint as of right now) and... for some reason half my constellation is gone? Even though the game recognizes I got em I can't interact with them at home.

It was a limited opt in closed beta. A lot of us who entered didn't get in. Seems roughly 1300 got in if you go by the switch private discord numbers. (could be higher, but I think one of the prerequisites to stay in the beta is going to the discord for feedback and bug reports.)

The issue seems to occur when you fiddle/move the camera a bit and then try to return home

It just happens to me without any camera movement. I stop moving completely when I open the settings menu. Weird. So it’s a random bug that we have no clue what triggers it. It’s not a big deal, I just click home, then exit and click confirm now. It’s definitely a bug tho.

crossplay is currently functioning on beta between switch and mobile. like belpita mentioned, some outstanding mobile bugs make it hard for players to actively join one another. on a positive note, the server/networking part of things is running smoothly which is the most important aspect.

Not because of Sesonal candles covert to white one's is because New Moth Nintendo Switch Player don't have many candles on that time. To counter that TGC should make double candle cake event on launch and after 1 week they release the Days of Rainbow Event. So New Moth Nintendo Switch player will have that candle to get the cape. Also reduce the price slightly to not let New Nintendo Switch player depress when grinding

Double candle cake event only makes Forging certain amount of candles faster with daily light system, but doesnt add much to the collectable maximum amount.

Yeah, depending on your route, double candle cake would yield at most 2 extra candles, and that's if you only aim to get 10 candles a day. if you CR more, the double cake event would yield less total.

@opaque swan bruh you know downloading APKs is against the Terms of Service, right? It could cause a lot of performance, account and malware issues for you. Trying to use APKs will result in download problems and may result in account data loss and inability to contact TGC support. APKs cannot be used to bypass the device incompatibility and do not help TGC with beta testing at all. Please don't use them or discuss them here.

maintenance doesn't mean bugs will be fixed. for players, nothing will appear to have changed. Please please PLEASE do not lose sleep over server maintenance.

Server maintenance usually means back end updates, like security patches, kernel updates, OS updates, etc. Anything that would require the server to reboot or be down for a given amount of time. It wouldn't be end user noticeable changes. Think of what happens when you get windows updates, or OS updates for your phone. Same concept: after the update happens, you need to "reboot" for changes to take effect. This is just on a larger scale machine built to handle thousands of user requests instantly, so their "reboot" process takes a little longer. (Reboot in quotes, because it is more than that for a server, there are cache flushes, rebuilds and other stuff needed to be done during the process.)

And older build can access constellation so if you have a friend there ask them to join you. Use airplane mode for a few seconds then turn the wifi back on that helped me to merge a lot of times.

I was able to collect spirit separately for newer and older build. I don’t think it’s bugged for me. It just seemed like I can’t light the spirit but when I followed the path, I was able to catch someone who was already living the memories. Or you can just wait there for them to finish so spirit returns the beginning and you can light it afterwards.

ts bugs are not prioritised in beta usually, and the devs are focused on the switch release at the moment, so it's unlikely they'd stop that to fix this

• people on the new build** can server merge with people on the older build**, and collect the TS once its been lit
• only iOS can downgrade to build 0.13.3 (165936), android cannot
• betas not gonna update just because TS is broken. not the first time weve missed out on a TS because of a bug, and definitely will not be the last, so we cant expect any compensation

nothing happens to the rainbow/nintendo cosmetics, you just won't have access to them in the old build - after you update again they're back

Hmmm I’m beginning to think the issue isn’t a bug, but if you can;t light the spirit, it’s probably already active, follow the path down and see if you can find the group of people already reliving the spirit
I haven’t been able to light the spirit in the old build either and turns out it’s because another group wS already in the process of reliving it

it's definitely a bug, the circle won't appear to the new build but once someone on the old build approaches the circle appears

The main problem seems like the spirit is being there to light but it doesn’t get activated by players from new build. Spirit being activated before is something else, in that case they can join the group but this is different

FIRST you need a beta qualification for phone ,then just link it to your Nintendo account on your phone. Anyway you have to already own a mobile beta account i think

Do you have an invite for switch beta? Or are you asking this for live game? For beta, you need separate invites from both platforms to play the game. Once you got invited, you can log in to the same account on both devices to play
