i feel like people are missing the point on why these glitches are being patched. tgc knew about them for as long as they’ve existed and they defeat the purpose of why krill are in the game. they’re like a challenge yk? and no challenge goes without penalty, that’s kind of the intention of golden wasteland; it’s supposed to be a wasteland. home trick still exists, but it’s also good to start using all or the good hiding spots around you. i think they are rather very generous that they’ve left these glitches for players for a long time, even bringing the home trick back after accidentally patching it once.

Anybody actually dislike the boots with the overalls? I feel like they're too clunky and don't look right. I preferred the bare feet because you could use more things with the overalls. The cutscene is there if you walk through the archway, it’s now skippable. If you fly off the edge then you don’t get the cutscene, and thankfully no more falling through the map.

The beta feedback channel is more about sharing your experience/opinion on things currently being tested in beta. The instrument keeps the key of the area where you turn off your music in. The key won’t change even if you change area afterwards. So different areas having different keys is actually useful for getting the key you want

So last night I either ran into a hacker or a dev playing music lol. Someone was playing music on a rock floating in the river around treehouse - playing beautifully I might add and a couple of them were Sky soundtrack songs. They wouldn’t light me though. But they were playing with instruments that don’t even exist in game, holding notes, played a violin (?!) and played extremely beautifully. Their skykid even played music like the old old old way of hands moving around like the rhythm dance emote. It was very interesting. In my heart I hope it was a dev 🤣

I noticed a few of the back cosmetics were swapped between spirits with the new update. The Baffled Botanist now carries the cabinet upon their back - despite the cosmetic itself being removed for purchase. I’m betting the devs got rid of it temporarily to expand upon its purpose and make it more than just a prop.

Makes me wonder, what do the devs have in store for the cabinet, or rather, what could we possibly do with a large piece of furniture like that? Hide and seek? Krill shielding? Crab collecting?

Is literally a pot that we see several spirits carrying on their backs. When placed is like a regular pot with a seal. When we burn the seal 5 to 10 butterflies randomly appear. But there's a hidden mechanic. The colour of the butterflies is based on what coloured cape you are wearing.

Personal opinion, but it is incredibly freeing to not be worried about how many stars you have or be precious with them. They are inherently meant to be lost and reclaimed in a regular cycle when you journey through Eden.

Imma be honest with yall, I don't like this season. The cosmetics don't feel up to the quality of other seasons and the props are literally just for show, most of them have little to no use. The options for f2p players have been reduced by a lot. And you now gotta pay for hearts after waiting 1+ hours for people to join your quest. I have many other thoughts but I don't think it will be enough to put in here

Generally areas are very bare once the season ends.. I can count the number of people I see still going to the cave of prophecies in live :(

But I feel like 90% of this season is actually in the region and it’s really easy to get to the treehouse so it doesn’t really feel like it’s going to be that bare once the season ends

Every request for a ban appeal I've seen in the last two days that contacted @hardy carbon broke ToS in at least one way. i saw a convo earlier about why servers have an 8 person limit, and i have a speculation as to why
lots of things are coded in binary, or at least based in it. binary is measured in powers of 2, basically. 8 is a power of 2, therefore its an easy number to manage. its only 1000 in binary so its easy for the computer to read and the developer to code. lots of computer stuff is done in powers of 2, like how a byte is eight bits !
edit: this is also why, in games like minecraft, the stack limit is 64 and the block height limit is 256. powers of two and binary, bay-bee !

I'm guessing their physical servers can handle a ton of people, maybe thousands? and they decided to make the "virtual" server limit 8 because it was enough to not be crowded but not too much. so maybe it is adjustable, but having more per server might make things worse for people already with bad internet connection... i wish tgc would do a behind-the-scenes to explain this stuff as for things heating up, i agree with whoever said above that that's probably more of a rendering issue. one person in a server spamming fireworks pre-nerf would probably be worse than 8 sleeping skykids

You can outrun krill. A good practice spot is the shipwreck in crab fields. Be at the port that points to the winged light by the entrance to battlefield. Fly up right when krill passes, get it's attention and book it to the winged light, if you're fast enough you'll be too far away for the krill to yeet light from you.

capturing a video of your crash when possible and posting it in #beta-bugs-ios reports helps us a lot more than a written description. engineering can usually identify the cause just by looking at the video. of course if you don't happen to be recording when a crash occurs, descriptions of what you were doing up to the point of crashing, how long you were logged in, and so on is a greatly appreciated fallback option.

Discord bug reports are prioritized over things submitted through testflight, because testflight only represents the iOS experience.

my android doesn't really crash. but would capturing the random freezes I get on video help? the whole game freezes but the music/background sound keeps going and everyone else around me sees me just frozen in place. I have to manually exit the app and restart to get out of the freeze but it doesn't actually crash on it's own. I have plenty of storage so I can just go around and see if I can make a freeze happen while recording. I'm just not sure what causes it since it's random

The amount of work and focus that goes into supporting Android surpasses that of iOS. We chose to do all android support in-house which means we move a little slower and face some unique challenges that might not be the case if it were outsourced.

Developing for android is incredibly challenging due to the extreme inconsistency across OS versions and device/hardware manufacturers, which is often why you will see studios be iOS-only.

Over the course of Sky development, due to the major changes on android in those 8 years, we scrapped and rebuilt the android version from scratch several times.

Nah, it's the fragmentation Android has. iOS is very similar from device to device. Android is the wild west so to speak when it comes to consistency across devices. They have to put an immense amount of work to ensure changes to the game works for all phones.

androids are definitely a whole different beast than ios too with the vast amount of device variability even two devices that are pretty similar (samsung galaxy note 10 and samsung galaxy s10) behave very differently in sky.

Well we haven't even had enough realm focused seasons to make out a pattern yet. So it's random, but yeah, ofc, it's more of a possibility that the places which never got an expansion are more likely but we still never know

The season's starting from enchantment seasons take place in realms and give them expansion.
After all 6 realms have have a season the next season would take place in the 1st one. That way its sort of balanced imo

Like having a valley season again after assembly is concluded will feel differently... At least to me

When I said cycle I meant the pattern the seasons will take place wasteland - > sanctuary - > isle - > valley - > forest - > vault and then wasteland again.

Of course its up to the devs to decide and they can scratch it off anytime. I'm simply theorising

Seasons didn’t always follow new area in this one realm and just recently they broke the there will always be 6 spirits per season pattern too

We just don’t know what the devs have planned because they can just throw away any preconceptions we have

Well we did kinda got proven wrong, most thought that this one will be in vault. Why? Because forest had a huge expansion in belonging, ofc, it wasn't the "new style" season but it was centered in forest, so most thought vault is the only place left. But look, now we have assembly. So we don't know what they will do, the chances that the next one will be in valley are equal to that it will be in vault. 16.67% chance

But then it's our tendency to fill the empty spots. Now seeing that vault is the only place that hasn't had a focused season automatically makes many assume it has high chance. And it's okay to think that way imo

How is vault getting the archive not the same as forest getting the cavern area, they’re both new level areas vs added terrain to existing areas

Here are some ideas I wrote in wishlist

The vault is inside of a mountain. This we know from prophecy murals. That means the expansion will be on ground level, because the higher the level the lesser the space to add things to. Literally.

I'm hoping a big culmination and I even came up with the perfect slogan (not really came up, i just think this fits perfectly)

For the reason mentioned above, I'm hoping for an area that goes under the 1st floor and is mirrored portrait of vault but with dark themes. But only here there is no light knowledge. Here is the dark forbidden knowledge.

This is a perfect representation of both balance and choice. You can either choose light aka good and ascend (literally) and you can choose darkness and get corrupted. Ofc this is just the idea we don't actually get corrupted by entering the area. And for the balance it yin-yang light shines in darkness

I guess it’s because your candle is not exactly at the new forge at reset, like it could be half full, so one chevron doesn’t count up to a new forge each time. Cuz imagine your candle being almost full at reset, the new forge would cost you a chevron way too quickly
