I think the new invite system will make it a lot harder to camp for invites since they're even less predictable. we won't get warnings when inactive testers are removed and they'll send out invites as needed which won't necessarily be between seasons anymore. they do also have it so you can't access the invite channel the second you join the server now. hopefully people take this as a sign not to stress so much about it

some of the enchantment spirit models did change. wizard hat was chunkier at first :0 I think I still have a screenshot of that actually. and I think Enchantment was when beta got the bug that was where using a chibi spell while wearing a chibi mask made you permanently tiny spell size until you reloaded. we had fun with that until the tiny spell came out for real

i think sanctuary had the most cosmetic changes in a season. manta suit, shell cape, and butterfly cape all got visual changes halfway through testing, plus the island getting an upgrade

Sorry for showing up late to the convo. I had a UI update a couple of days ago and I have Android 11. This feedback/haptics problem arose for me after the update. The vibration was so odd and erratic, not to mention distracting while playing I had to turn it off completely.
Edit: I mean turned off system wide , I couldn't find a setting specific to games.

yeah mines a note 10 and I don't have haptic feedback in game so my phone is more on par with Aeras's. the other person with haptic feedback was on a note 20 so I think maybe it's the galaxy s20 and note20 series specifically seeing that issue

I had vibrational response turned on on my phone. Updated to Android 11. No differences. Had a new update the other day and the vibration just went nuts while playing sky. It would occasionally give feedback here and there, usually at trip points. But it got so wild I had to turn it off.

there's a "bbbrrr" type of effect on an iphone as well when approaching a candle bunch or other lightable/burnable thing with multiple things to light/burn in a small area - sometimes it takes a bit to decide which one of the lightable entities to display the button on so it jumps between them rapidly and each "jump" is a haptic tap, it's been like this since I started

The haptic feedback was pretty handy in my opinion, but it got super annoying with instruments. The vibration was just a tiny bit delayed and it always threw me off when I was playing, plus every note I hit was a vibration. I really loved the haptics for everything else but I had to turn it off for music or it’d drive me cuckoo 😔

If an update goes out, current testers can update the app. We don't know when or how new invites will be handled. There's no "keeping secrets" in beta, which is why the channels are public and anyone can make content about it. Speculating about the news is fine and maybe what TGC wanted players to do! The only rule of the server is to keep what's tested in beta in the beta channels, aka the fact that a dress was obtainable at one point

They'll release to beta when they're ready. I am sure even internally for beta, there are just soft dates. Nothing is "this date" when it comes to beta. That's the life of a beta program. Updates, fixes, etc will be released when they're done and ready.

You'll only get kicked out if you are determined to be inactive in the system. As long as you are playing beta and updating regularly, you should be fine. It's mostly the people who log in once to see the new stuff and then never go back that get kicked I think (this is for iOS only, Android players can't be kicked out)

It does, for the beginning of the run. 3 and 2 chevron CR yields more candles than live. 1 and 0 chevron is the "end balance" to keep candle count the same.

The way testing waves work has now changed. If you’re active you will no longer be removed from the beta program. Take a look in #beta-announcements and #beta-faq for more info.

So as long as you remain active and Days of Bloom comes to beta then you will get to test for it if you’re already in beta.

Total candles did drop with the chevron system, when full farming i got 17 max when i did races after i dropped to 0 chevrons, races at 1 or 2 chevrons gave 15.5 candles, and with 0 chevrons all the new added candlecakes give less than 2 candles

For iOS you don’t need a Game Center to download beta. You just need an iTunes account, which is required to download games and all. You can link your game to Game Center though.

hey, I was a beta tester back in in Sanctuary but didn't rejoin the invite wave for Prophecy and deleted beta. I just tried redownloading beta and it worked-- I'm now on the latest beta version. I thought I got removed from beta after sanctuary, though?? why did this work?

I tried redownloading it because of the change for Android beta testers that ktjn mentioned, but I thought that meant that would only apply to androids who join beta starting from the next invite wave (so the one for Assembly)

actually Ignis, read the last beta update. google's beta system in funky and they can't really remove them anymore without unpublishing the app and republishing it every time. they'll still invite new android testers when ios invites come out but old ones won't be removed

Invite waves do not have a set time, so we don't know when they happen. Sometimes they happen at noon, sometimes they happen at 3 am. Like kai said, they're only invite players when they need to now

My guess is that the devs do backread this channel and the less off topic chatter, the easier it is for them to read the chats we have that are relevant to testing. All we know is tgc has considered bringing UGs back. It can happen next month or Next year. Depending on the needs beta will be scheduled in advance. If you have ideas you can post it in #wishlist-and-ideas

Speaking in general, and has no bearing on how tgc will handle testing for Sky on switch, yes there can be "open" betas for titles on switch. It is at the discretion of the developer, and usually involves a unique code system assigned to individual testers. it would not be an anonymous link like what you may be familiar with for apple or google testing. You can find all this information on your own with some light googling. When we're ready to discuss next steps it'll be an official announcement, not hidden in idle chatter on discord.

If it helps any, with Android 11 crashes, I missed most of prophecy in live. had AP but no ults.

They used to be able to remove everyone from the beta system, but Google changed the way their beta programs work so now Android players can't be kicked out anymore. They can place a limit on how many spaces are open in the system at a time though, so new Android testers may not be able to join until someone leaves on their own, even if they find the link, or until they do another invite wave (which we don't know when that will be)

Google never had a limit. They limited Android testers to be fair with the limited slots in iOS.

You could set limits, but the Google Play beta program has had an option of "unlimited slots" for years.

The main change was the beta program has a bug where removing testers never truly registered on Google's end and caused issues. Seems, instead of fixing it, Google disabled the option for developers to remove testers.

I keep saying we don't even know if invited will even come before the next season starts testing. They'll open as the devs need them. they could be more or even less frequent than before. They got significantly less predictable so it's best to just get yourself a ping role in #beta-faq and not stress yourself out camping in th invites channel they'll come when they come and the ping role ensures you get notified when they do.

@viral atlas bruh you know downloading APKs is against the Terms of Service, right? It could cause a lot of performance, account and malware issues for you. Trying to use APKs will result in download problems and may result in account data loss and inability to contact TGC support. uh... it shouldn't? there's a mechanic in the game that only allows you to place 1 chat item, so if you placed a swing and then a table, the swing would disappear. but the rainbow isn't a chat item... so it's probably a bug. i'll go and check it out as soon as i can

That usually happens if they installed the app through unofficial means. The levels are usually delivered via PAD, at least for Android devices. If they didn't get the app from the play store, the game won't download the level data from PAD service.

I would suggest submitting a bug report and if possible a video. I have heard others experience this in live also, but seems to be very rare. Only heard of Android having this issue. One way to fix it is to log out of all Google accounts and just have the one tied to beta and see if the game will start normally.

I mean, if you don't have much time to cr, it's good. But if you live off that dopamine of crafting a candle each time you reach it (and well now everytime 1/4 of the ^ goes away it does a lil animation) you might not like it very much
