i'm on an s10+ and my gameplay is decent. although i've recently seen some major frame drops in certain areas that were not present in beta, which was strange. i'm now monitoring my fps while i do runs in beta to compare. it would be great if my game wouldn't crash everytime i use gpu watch

but what the game is trying to do in 60fps: it's trying to correct the frame so it looks like the 30fps version but thats why the stuttering happens

the frame drops were happening in all of valley for live, running at 40 fps instead of 60. i think its been somewhat fixed, but it really shouldn't be dropping to 40, especially since it was running smoothly last season. nothing unusual in beta so far though. hopefully it stays that way

That sounds like something is definitely wrong if your S10 has issues in places like that. My lower end Pixel 3a gets 30fps across the board unless screen recording.

The most recent invite wave was in December 2020 (around 2 months ago). They do access wipes and re-invite people after each seasonal cycle now to give different players a chance. We don't know exactly when the next invite wave will begin, but it will likely be sometime around when Dreams is close to ending in live, before they start testing for the next season

I just wanted to clarify that I never suggested blocking chat in Eden.
I said that I saw people saying they liked hanging out and chatting in Eden, which would in turn affect other players in the same distance not being able to proceed to Orbit. It's the same effect as someone being afk.

Fkjoey, what happened with the sleeveless dress is that it was temporarily removed from beta as it is was not fully implemented and not ready. It was not meant to be in beta yet. When it is ready we will see it. No one knows when that will be.

you'd have to accept the new beta invite wave to continue being able to download new versions of the app -- if you miss out on getting one of the new invites, then you can only play until they update the minimum required version to continue beta testing

I have now 75 and if I'm not mistaken I only need 20 to enter, I can see the barrier through the closed door and it shows 20/20. So I really don't know what's the issue 😥

i remember someone mentioning a similar problem: i forget if it's just meditating you need to do, or whether you actually need to proceed through the eden gate from the end of vault to trigger the flag properly (i.e. after meditating, do not go home or close the game, but instead walk through the 20-WL spirit gate you see in the ruined vault room)

Generally, talking about hacks and hacked items is not really allowed here in this server. If you see anyone using an item that shouldn't be available in the game yet or seems suspicious, it's best to just report them in-game if you can and try not to bring too much attention to it. I suppose if you have questions for TGC about it, you could contact the helpbot to speak with a staff member. But they ask us not to speak about it here in detail

I also didn't know the item I saw was "hacked" at first, though I am sure the user knew what they were doing was wrong. So when I walked up to them and took a picture, surely they knew it was weird. They didn't light me though. So I never could click/report them. pPopcorn

I just got the android 11 update this morning! haven’t actually been on sky on my android since I updated yet though. haven’t seen any updates so i assume nothing specifically new to test in beta in the last week at least ablobnervous

Android 11's built in recorder is a huge i/o resource hog.(25mbps write to your swap file while recording and 40mbps when saving to a permanent file) Other than that, not much difference. (That much i/o overhead can cause slight stutters when loading in an area or new assets)

fatlol oh yeah I remembered. two of my star pins still don’t work in beta but ThatSkyShop is looking into it at least. They thought it was weird they work in live not beta too. (edit: the warp and piggyback spells from anniversary pack don’t work on beta. my “you and i” pin, earth day cape, light seekers cape, and weasel mask all work on beta and live now)

it took me roughly 2 realms to get to 10 candles. i haven't been paying too close attention to which realms they were though faint

If one of them is the cake realm i would say 1,5 but yeah something like what Areas said.

Yeah, cake realm itself is around 6-8 candles, second realm you run would give you 3-4. Remember, these numbers can and most likely will change as the system gets further balancing and more wax is added.

Maybe when you go into the gondola to turn off the rain in the broken bridge area, instead of turning off the rain, the rain turns into wax rain and can give you up to half a candle's worth of wax. pPopcorn

i think the devs were going for a kind of desolate feeling in that area, so i don't know if adding a huge plant in the middle would work. although, a big plant curling up and around the anchor would be super cool

I sent some a little more hidden spots earlier in feedback, ark has a nice potential. What's frustrating tho with low chevron is missing a tiny bit to fill out your candle and you have to run a half realm for it. pFIRE

Honestly, coming from someone who lives in the middle of a desert (literally 30+ mile drive in either direction before seeing the next town) plants do grow in desolate places and the darkness plants could be those "plants that live where they shouldn't."

When the prairie ones were active actually all the other ones were too just with invisible spots. U had to sit in the right place and listen when u got the meditation sound. We found 15 i think.

The shop works. You just can't buy candles since that would not help testing. You can still buy the founder's cape in the office, the starter cape, AP (if you haven't bought yet), and any event IAP items during events. (I don't think we have any going right now)

Think of your candle count as if we are testing as a f2p player... To make sure the worth of candles and hearts are adequate.

probably not properly until they get it on android too. you can bootleg portrait mode on live though. start an in game recording, stop the recording, click "add to shared album", tilt to portrait, cancel adding to album. now youre in portraot until you exit sky or tilt your device back to landscape

I have a 2nd email account that I want to be able to use for a 2nd Sky account, but I still want to be able to switch back and forth with my original. The game refuses to let me log out though. What should I do?

That is what I want, my phone as an alt and tab as a main, but I just got the Galaxy S21 Ultra, so I would still like to have the option of logging into my main for special high end pics. Either way, the game refuses to let me log out. So I'm kinda frustrated. 🤔

Not necessarily beta related topic but you have to log out from your google account first, log into the other one, open game, click on log in then click on switch accounts. (the amount of time and accidental moth accounts i made until i figured this out when i wanted to transfer my ios progress to an android phone) pFIRE

One season, I had to delete them by hand because deleting the tester groups only deleted the groups and didn't remove anyone. It's not a 6 hour mistake I ever hope to repeat sqwarlockDed

Why not try again a all out game wipes. Its good to have the items you earned in beta. But they are for testing. But having an all out wipe gives the feeling of fresh new start

Just keep in mind, Android players, Google takes awhile to register you being removed from beta. Last wave, I still had to manually leave and rejoin to avoid mid testing phase kick out.

But is there really a need for that? The progress wipe that happened before iOS release was for testing purposes. Just wiping cosmetics now without any specific reason would just feel cruel.

I'm ok with a wipe if it will come but even old seasonal items can broke sometimes. Last time the bonfire? It's not useless to keep some in game, so if anything happens there are players who can report it or help with testing what they ask. Ofc they can give and remove items anytime when it's needed but i think that's just unnecessary effort to do with more than a few ppl. frequently. Ahah im preparing for the candle loss party alreadySkyLOL

Didn't they basically do that at one point when there was the glitch that allowed people to pre-order the pass thousands of times? They ended up resetting everyone to like 50 candles or something (this was in beta, not live)

yep, currency reset happened with the unlimited preorder pass bug, but this time the candles are totally legitimate

I'm not sure what they will do for these candles then, I think this is the first season in beta testing where they had candles available in all the realms, so people were able to earn more than usual. I wouldn't be surprised if they just took them away because it's beta, but of course there would be some people who get mad about that anyway

I think we do get enough fresh faces now with the access wipes each season that they likely won't have a major need to wipe progress for testing purposes. It's always good to be prepared for one but we really don't know if or when it'll happen. Just keep going like normal with the beta expectation that things could change drastically any time sLaugh

The new light system does make it a lot easier to accumulate regular candles though. I haven't done much on beta recently but I get way more candles running solo on beta than I do on live. I only have more candles on live right now because I get ubers who take me on a full run sLaugh still excited about the idea of being able to do a realm or two and get closer to the max daily candles with just my favorite places

Wipes can and will happen from time to time but there needs to be a need for it. When we do those things it's a few days of work from the engineering team to make happen, especially when done in a way that preserves the friend list. There are better uses of their time. For the most part, wiping currency accomplishes anything we need for testing.

Just playing normally is also very helpful for the devs. We don’t have to be constantly producing bug reports. And playing normally would definitely include doing candle runs. If we all do get those candles converted and then also manage to stay on in beta for the next cycle, it would give us an unfair advantage over newer testers.
When it comes to new cosmetics, it is perhaps not the main focus for bug reporting, but clipping issues can be good to mention.

I always try to not get too attached to my beta account, except all my beta friends, I would cry if I lost them. Although I still get a lil bit attached over the time I invested in it, in the back of my mind I’d be ok to accept it if ever devs decide to wipe things out for testing purposes. you only got locked out of the game if you equipped the cape in orbit and then collected wing buffs. if you equipped it anywhere else it just crashed you and you were wearing the previous cape when you reloaded because the game didn't have enough time to register you'd changed. if you did it in orbit it obviously registered because you're capeless when you put it on then get a cape when you collect wings

What happened was when the ascended capes first got released in beta they weren't implemented fully yet so if you equipped one it crashed your game. and if you equipped one in orbit you got locked out of the game until a patch was released because you had the cape equipped upon relogging every time so auto crash.

you know, i'm glad that tgc is doing regular access wipes. not only to get in more active testers, but to also get a variety of testers. this testing cycle made me realize that a lot of the more active testers aren't casual players. we tend to try and test the limits of the game, see if we can go as fast as we can, break everything we can. that might have been why a lot of us didn't experience anything bad with the kill switch, but live players have gotten their eden runs cut short. hopefully when the wipes happen, we get more casual players to round out the chaos a lot of us create pFIRE

There's definitely beta testers who aren't even on social media. I have a few in game friends who do their bug reports through contacting in game support and seeing them in game is mostly a by chance thing. They probably think I quit beta cuz I stopped collecting light and haven't logged in at all in like 2 weeks fatlol

Anyone else feel a quick way to see what your current chevron level is at would be a good QoL addition? I.E. I do a candle run right at reset, I get 7 candles, so I am 2 notches down in 2 chevrons. Currently, I have to drop a notch to see where I am at in 2nd chevron. My memory isn't the best, so if I do another candle run later on in the day, I forget where I am at. I already left feedback, but wanted to see if anyone else sees benefit in this addition.

I can also see a good monetization on this QoL. I am a light spender, (Only spend money on AP and IAP cosmetics I would use in live, but it may be a situation for another player who buys candles) but the idea would be, a TS is here that I want and need to see if I need to buy candles for it or can CR. I see I'm at 1 chevron but don't know if I'm at 1/5 or 4/5. If Chevron 1 is almost gone, I wouldn't waste the time to CR that day and spend a little on a candle pack. If Chevron 1 was near full, I could get those candles fairly easy. (Compared to chev 0 the whole way. sqwarlockDed )

Since it's very hard to tell when will you reach a certain amount of candle, players will use the daily obtainable maximum as a stable point to count and plan with i believe, or I would at least. But i doubt my pov is relevant at this point since i overinsure everything when it comes to candles. I alway keep a way bigger stack than i actually need, so these 1 or a tiny bit of candle missing to be able to buy something situations are not really a problem for me. However seing an almost full candle with on but especially zero chevron is torturepFIRE

Oh, I also forgot, they are still working remotely, iirc, on top of that laundry list. I know how much of a pain it is to develop for something remotely. Having to pull updates from other colleagues before committing your code change to prevent squashing their changes... It can be a huge burden, especially working remotely. You can't just walk to their desk and go "hey, Jim, you already committed that change to movement.c? Is it safe to send my commit first?"

And please also remember that the tier 2 capes aren't supposed to be quick goals, they are meant for long-time players who have been amassing hearts over time after completing all constellations.

This is something i really wanted to express after what has been applied for some time...I don know why TGC trying to target shrine farming family. Just like any other groups, I have a small sky family that help each others to get a heart from shrines. I spend at least 30 mins every day just on the shrines alone, to read every family member's notes and gives them a like, so they can earn a heart to ease themselves from the grinding. Limit the shrine to only provide a heart after 50 likes hurt a lot, to communites that bond together to help each other with real efforts, without hacking, cheering each other with motivational quotes. Increasing the minimum to 50 likes to target farming families, is hurtful to me to see TGC seeing us bonding and helping each others without breaking the game rule as bad and unethical :( This is so disappointing to me from what Sky trying to promote about friendship and making bonds...its hurtful to see us utilising real efforts and making bonds being labelled as merely exploiting.

Its not a heart factory. Its spending time to read every friend's note, likes them and let them have a heart in return. It's supporting each other with dedication without breaking any rule. It doesn't happen with a single tap. We share motivational quotes and fun stories on notes. Plus hving 50 for minimum hurts small groups with close bond, not big massive farming corporates. I have to make this clear.

tbh, increasing the like ratio to 50 will just raise the number of players just spam hearting notes and not reading them.

Some people just want to help others get that heart and never read the note. It's alright, but reading the note feels a lot more personal than just liking a friend's note for no reason.

And I've never seen any of my friends reach past 20 likes. Literally the only notes to ever get hearts noe would be those notes with 100+ likes

Honestly, I stopped reading notes actively once meditation quests became regular and the questions never changed. It didn't feel engaging enough to spend several minutes trying to find a friend's message that ultimately would just be full of emojis anyway, because we had already answered the same question 50 times.

I've been in beta for a year. this last one was definitely less chaotic snowWHEEZE at one point beta channel was closed entirely and then it was like an hour slowmode. i think the more people realize that beta invites will come every new season, the less they see it like some exclusive hard to get into club and the less interested they are. it'll certainly be a long time before those would be actually chill but they're getting less chaotic with each wave.

Before prophecy testing, the season started too early. The beginning cutscene played, but because it didn't exist, the game would crash. But, if you flew just before it started and got through a portal your game wouldn't crash. Hence the floor is lava

Basically games go “what do” when there is no code and the cutscene had no code past the generic questgiver waving you to follow them through the portal so it crashed. You could avoid triggering the cutscene at all if you never touched the floor in homespace hence “floor is lava”

Yes a few times, I went in with like 148 and only had like 5 left by the end I usually have a ton more left.. it just seemed excessively more intense with the less time between the rocks flying and it would knock me down and not really let me back up until multiple wings were taken

if you’re in eden past the point of no return for longer than approximately 20 minutes after the first death in your server, the game just kills you really fast at that point. it’ll knock out 5wl a second until you die whether you’re in the rock rain or not

I think the timer depends on the count of dead players. Still haven't tested this, but I know it was less than 15mins when 3 of us were dead in less than 5 mins of entering.

Just checked the models; the dress on the skater and Hide N Seek (referencing live) are exactly the same

While I am still merely speculating and they may merely just be using it as an article of clothing for our newly shortened Hide N Seek, it is not unreasonable to assume speculate the dress will appear on a new tier of Hide N Seek

Also, cosmetics and info are always possibly subject to change unknown by all of us players, so just because the beta dress previously looked one way it does not mean it won't look different when it comes finished to live

If you read back a little bit, we did discuss the dress recently. All we know is a dress slipped through one of the beta updates before it was ready. It got pulled as it wasn't ready for testing. It might go through changes before hitting beta again. stickerLove

it was at least a few weeks. but dreams was extended in beta by about 20 days. so that can't really be used to guess when access wipes will happen this time around. (or any time for that matter, since its not a set schedule)

Each cycle is different. It's best practice to not have a pattern, so previous access wipes and invite waves aren't a good thing to guess the next one.

so far the tier 2 capes are being released based on their pricing from the cheapest to expensive. they started with yellow, red and green followed by teal and dark blue so i think purple followed by pink will come next then black and white. However, that's just my guess though because we won't actually know whether the capes will continue to come in that kind of order.

Do you guys think that kill switch as they say in eden is to serve 150’sh star. Before i went there 75 star and i can get a clean 10-12’sh candles but now i went 116 and almost 30 stars goes to kill

Do you mean the purpose of the kill switch? It was implemented because there were players who kept death looping and couldn't fall into the dark room until there were living players on the field. (Pretty bad when someone goes afk that means a looper waits forever) When everyone died there they could fall too, so kill switch is basically killing everyone after a time for the sake of the deathloopers. Bot ofc it's not a bad thing you don't have to wait an eternity to lose that 150 when you saved everythingSkyLOL

Kill switch is a feature in eden statue field. If you spend more than 20-30 mins there alive you will start losing wings automatically and die eventually.

that's a discord issue not tgc. discord mobile will send the same ping to my ipad and my android at totally different times. the good news is that they do the access wipes before they do the invite waves so you know to start checking in app a bit more often starting after the access wipes (not immediately after). you could also leave desktop version open with your speakers loud enough to hear across the house because desktop pings are consistently instant for me stickerLove

ah yeah I've already spent more than half the candles I collected sLaugh certainly not as many as others had but hey I was able to give everyone I have high five with a heart this morning and it felt nice to just yeet hearts everywhere

we don't know if the candles would disappear. the difference between now and sanctuary is sanctuary we exploited a bug and these candles now were intentionally placed and we legitimately earned them. my guess would be they won't take that away unless it upsets the economy in a way that impacts testing. all we can do is wait and see stickerLove
