I think the change of TS requiring the current season adventure pass and the TS demanding less regular candles is fair BUT, now it’s too late for that, TGC should have thought of that since the beginning

You know, i agree it's a good idea, but they need income too, when new seasons come everytime, people buy so MANY passes. If Seasons repeated, only new Players will buy them, and It'll be a chunk of income decreased from normal

Why would I take a break from a game I love? If I take a break and find a new game that I end up falling in love with then probably I won’t come back to Sky. No game company want their players to take a break. That’s not smart at all.

once people are assured that theres a guaranteed way to get something, people will be willing to work towards it.

in the past, spells were all obtained at random and people were upset because there was no guarantee to get resizes (the spell with the highest demand).

now that spells have a designated area and are always available, people have much less reason to complain now.

so i think something similar could be thought of for TS items

They could put more time between new seasons then and fill that space with old seasons. Give a month between seasons instead of 1-2 weeks.

Repeating seasons will not change the grinding aspect of the game (I’m not complaining about the grinding aspect. I took my time to complete the constellations, almost a year), I only pointed out what my subscribers think of the game

Repeating the seasons it’s not a very good idea for me. We would be stuck in the history and lore of the game without new seasons while one is repeating. I missed a lot of seasons due to studying and I think the best way to bring ultimates is only IAP with a price like the bat cape or little bit more. And they can return like 1-2 times a year only (for example for New Year and other festivities) Idk if I should send this to wishlist and ideas or beta feedback

The new TS system, which demand the seasonal pass of current seasons helps to decrease the grinding aspect as they will require much less regular candles, so new players would have to farm less and could focus on regular constelations while still having a change to get past seaons cosmetics. Past seasons cosmetics coming with the TS is a way of repeating a season

Having the ts + seasons kinda increases the profits.
When seasons won't repeat people will buy passes everytime and not sometimes.
When ts comes, many people are short on candles and they buy from the shop, that's profits too
Now, if half of it's Cosmetics remain pass locked, that'll force the player to buy ap if they want that item, which will increase the amount of people who buy ap even more, hence increasing profits.
This all was not from my point of view. I oppose most of it

i think if we work with TS, if people knew who was coming much more in advance (like maybe at the start of the month, TGC shows the 2 spirits coming), it would help lessen grind?

we all grind because TS is only shown a day before it comes, so people either have to grind in preparation or grind in the small window of time they have when TS arrives.

if we had more time to know which TS was arriving, we could relax and plan around it.

It’s repetitive, if you do the same thing for months it gets boring. I was very very relieved when I finally finished all my constellation, and i didn’t felt the need to collect every single day, and I could just send hearts to whoever I want to without making them feel they need to give it back. I’m glad we have long term goals, but they are based on the same mechanics as the the regular constellations. Grind and trade and do notes.

Honestly, speaking as a year-old player here, I have almost every cosmetic and barely even candle run anymore. It has no purpose. The game is still appealing for its social aspect, just to hang out with people, playing music or just enjoying the scenery

Also shouldn’t be visible to friends who didn’t completed the same constellation yet if you wear your own. i think bringing back seasons isn’t going to be as glamorous as people think, especially a season like gratitude & lightseekers, the current seasons brought with them new areas to explore & new game mechanics, whereas those seasons in particular where cool when they came out since they were different from the day to day sky but at the end of the day they were just news spirits in different spots you relived once,, i’m not against season’s repeating in some capacity, but i want to be a bit realistic about the idea

The thing is that owning cosmetics is a big part of the game. in a season, if there is no cosmetics, what’s left aside from the emotes and the story?(this is a lot already but yk everyone wants the cosmetics) I think what people want to say here is that, cosmetics being a part of the game, it’s not about choosing to get them or not. Once you’ve completed all the realms once, If you don’t want any cosmetics then there’s nothing left to do in the game except chilling with your friends. So if TGC gives a short amount of time in the seasons etc, it can make the players actually feel pressured and it encourages players to always do CR etc.
Aside from that, I think the new capes are cool because, it’s a way for old players to have a new thing to look forward to, and the seasons of course.
But having the same quests everyday/week/MONTH is what is a little boring

I guess theres just this dilemma for players regarding the game: they dont wanna grind yet they want to get the cosmetics.

• not everyone can do the “if you dont want it, quit it”. The cosmetics provides a certain incentive for people to stay, because theyre cool. You can say that friends are important, but achievements ingame are also a motivation, since:
• people play with different reasons. I have been on sky since the android launch. But im not particularly into playing with friends. If i find friends here i'd just rather chat w them on some other platform. Sky is a place of oobs, tricks, and well,, cosmetics, really.
• yes im starting to get tired of the grinding. I used to adore this game for its intricate lores and worldbuilding and emotes and cosmetics but my attitude kinda... altered.
• if you have played journey you'd see its stunning similarities w sky. But the intrinsic design of sky has made it a lesser experience. I have only played through journey once and im all mesmerized by its emotional appeal to me and its overall beauty. Sky did include a whole new level of details and stuff we could do but some aspects, e.g. the presence of grinding and chat, actually, diminished the importance of those wordless companionships we form along the way. There are texts in sky, and, sometimes we start to get distracted.

And imo:

• it's ok they add new tiers, but pricing it 3x the og price is a little.. eh

I started grinding again (I have all items from every constellation and every season as I play since its global release) this monday because of the chance of new exciting items, now that I saw the capes Im like "meh, let's get back to getting hearts from the friend constellation and from the seasonal candles that are turned into regular candles at the end of each season"

•Isle- staff of the isle elder,
°when used, it'll call birds near you so that you can recharge
°itll have a long cooldown
•prairie- butterfly pot
°when used , it'll release butterfly so that you can recharge and have fun
°it won't have a cooldown but you'll have to fill it again by taking it to an area with butterflies after 3 uses
•forest- hammer and anvil
°a rather unique instrument :0
°the sound will be very cool ans metallic and it'll be a 15 key instrument
•valley- bats and ball
°you can play a minigame with your friend, hit the ball
°i really haven't thought how it'll work, but sort of like the twins play in the cutscene
•wasteland- krill shield
°will protect you and your (moth) friends from a krill danger. Though when used 5 times, it'll be damaged and you have to get it repaired for some Ascended candles
•vault- chat mat
°a floating mat with a vault memory lantern in between
°very much like the bornfire, just much cooler
°8 players can sit
°recharging speed is much quicker than bonfire

i’m saying that items that bring utility, table, chibi mask, fireworks staff, like a butterfly pot, shouldn’t be over 30-ish hearts because they bring a small benefit for players and that’s something that should be accessible for all players not just people with a lot of candles/hearts to spend

I have hearts accumulated just through natural play and I wouldn’t mind little things here and there to spend on, but these hugely expensive items just pressure people to grind. Whether or not it does that to you personally, you can’t deny it has that effect on a lot of people.

i've seen the gnomon stream myself, and the main thing i took away from it is that TGC's engine and approach to optimising seems radically different to what i expect of other popular game engines with how they're willing to up vertex counts while simplifying textures -- it's completely counterintuitive to what i would've thought was the case when using Unity as a comparison

The butterfly cape got changed a bit because of player feedback, while manta cape didnt get changed as much if not at all because of limitations, even tho some players wanted it to be more intricate

There is currently no ultimate for completing all constellations. The Eden crown was presumed to be that, but it never made it into the game, as far as I know.

The new capes are inspired by the pre-global launch capes, but are intentionally simplified for performance reasons. The team doesn't want them to be fanciful. They are a symbol of being kind to others and building long term friendships.

for everyone that wants more complicated designs for the capes, keep in mind that sky's engine can only hold so much texture data. the reason capes are currently that simple is that it's basically required to be like that for the game to function. i might be a bit wrong, but after watching the devs' panel they mentioned that there were texture constraints, that's why a lot of the cosmetics are flat colors. anyone can correctme if i'm wrong but this is my personal theory as to why the new capes can't resemble light awaits' capes

there used to be an old cape design in the early beta version of the game-light awaits, which was really complex and detailed. looked very pretty but was super resource intensive so they got removed

dunno if this is the place to ask but i keep seeing people call those new capes "veteran capes" is there some requirement to have them available or can any player get them regardless of when they joined?

You can get them regardless of when you joined, as long as you have enough currency. I personally don’t like calling them that, but it’s understandable cause the idea would be someone who has 100+ hearts to afford some of these new capes would presumably be an older player who built up lots of extra hearts

I feel like if they just made the trim of the cape match the white from the inside of the cape it would go a long way. The gray or silver is the third color now and just looks weird to me

Fair enough, but me personally i kinda like the shiny silver on some of the capes, gives a bit of flare to the classic capes, one of my friends put out an idea that tgc could use gold trimmings for the white cape upgrade
