Okay so I gathered a few friends at ark to test how it works with the paper boats since that liquid can be either ooze or water depending on level of completion. When its ooze you can neither place nor see boats and when its water you can place and see boats so it seems to be working completely as intended!

@late mountain i tested out the paper boat in wasteland and apparently i still found a spot where you can still put them on oozes. Apparently when it is near the shore area, there's a blue light indicating i can still place it regardless it is on an ooze or water. It may read it as 'liquid/water surface". I plan to report this bug 🤔

@coral flume I'm not sure if the fire trial is intended to have multiple paths, but IIRC there is one point where the path loops back on itself. It's a short loop, so it only slows you down a little.

beta seasons are shorter. there's really no guarantee that people who grind daily from day one will get it either. So to answer your question sash: there's no definitive way of knowing. If you grind daily and have candles leftover when the season ends they will convert to normal candles anyways so it doesn't hurt to grind.

No, there is only a certain amount of candles you get every day. Though you could still get some cosmetics in beta, you wouldn’t be able to complete all of the constellation. But there is always live!! 🙂

also for those new to beta: our season doesn't end the second live starts. our season ends when they don't need us to test things anymore so end date is unknown

i got the impression they effectively moved some of the candles out of the fire trial and put it in the cave of prophecies, with the addition of the candle cake and the bunch by the bench out the top of the cave; presumably so that the season adds some candles for people who want it, but in a way that doesn't encourage daily farming of the trials

fire trial is just more fun with friends because it's hilarious to taunt the shadows as a skykid totem pole (they did nerf piggy a little though and we did die if a worm hit us when not standing on a candle)

Spirit memories take less than a minute, I believe. Unfortunately, they cross paths with each other, so if another player is doing a different spirit it may get a little confusing.
The trials can take hours. But some players seem to be able to finish them in around 10-20 minutes.

Run into a portal? What do you mean? If you send a report in a report channel here it’ll go through. Same for if you where to report in-game and then go through a realm portal. Bug reporting in both instances happens in a “separate window”

I was thinking it would be super neat to have a hannukiah (Hanukkah menorah) that we could light up and have as an accessory. It's the blood moon and the pumpkins that make me wonder if there has been a bug. And if it's not a bug, then TGC just ignores it and it's no big deal. I just wanted to be sure they'd seen it.

@tacit stone I go to the end of the cave at the start of the level, then try to glide all the way to the Cave of Prophecies without touching the ground. It's a good chance to practice midair deep calls (you need the butterflies' help to get the whole way).

@placid linden I suspect the release schedule and messaging around the trials will be as important as any changes to the trials. The experience of going solo is so radically different from going with friends that I believe it's driving the divergent view we're seeing in here. One trial released per week with clear messaging that you should enter with friends (similar to the messaging as you enter Eden) would prevent a lot of heart ache.

One of the reasons I'm glad the spider mask is AP-only is that this makes it skippable: you can proceed all the way to the heart on the spirit tree without getting it.

@tacit stone people get creeped out by spiders and its a trigger for many people, its not a gendered thing to be scared of, It was a good question cause maybe someone might get too creeped out by it to continue in sky after they see it. I think the spider mask is fine in that its subtle enough to recognize that its a spider but not so much that it reminds you of any in particular. Maybe your friends are more creeped out by the fact that it is a spider than the mask itself ?

I think the masks in general are bulky and intimidating. I’d prefer something more graceful, but as it so happens the 2 least bulky/most graceful masks both have some downside for me.
Water prophet masks has a beard which makes me uncomfortable wearing it, anubis mask has a totally over-the-top halo... so nothing for me to consider wearing regularly.

Completion time can depend on a lot of factors, personal skill, whether you have friends who can help or are faster than you (thus lighting checkpoints ahead). Levels are also subject to changing before they hit live.
I'm pretty sure there will be one trial released a week or so, like how ark and sanctuary were mostly weekly things.
A reminder too: beta channels aren't qnh for live people. It's mainly for beta people to discuss beta experiences with each other, and it's time people volunteer for as well. You've been popping in here quite frequently and also been rather curt to Dark who did take the time to partially answer one of your questions.

the season in __ days at the motd is an estimate and when the season actually hits live depends on how well the testing goes. the current state of the season can change once it hits live with all the feedback provided by the testers and the dev team doing their best to adjust everything. i understand everyone's excitement but don't forget about these factors as well.
